"Great hotel stay"
Very conviently located downtown Portland, easy access to transportation without having to use a car or rent a car. Nice restraunt to eat at for all meals of the day and great relaxing time on the patio at the end of your days with an adult beverage around the fire pits.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, great location"

"Nice Hotel - Very Happening place for happy hour"
The room was nice although small. Air conditioning in the room did not work very well. And it was noisy outside due to the bar/restaurantGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Nice Hotel"
I had a very nice hotel. Though please add $30 for car service, and there are still some pending fees several days later after staying a few nights ago. I will update this after I find out EXACTLY how much everything cost. But to me this was a 4.8 star hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Super Friendly staff, Great Location!"
ALL of the staff members were extremely helpful and polite. The hotel restaurant is definitely the place to be in the afternoon especially around the outdoor fire pits. The hotel is close enough to walk to the University campus and to find locals eats as well. It is also close enough to walk/run to the river and watch the water traffic. I will definitely […] be staying here when I come back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Would I stay there again ... not sure. The traffic noise even on a Sunday evening was loud, the room was small and lacked a chair to sit in and read, On the other hand, the restaurant was great and Happy Hour was a real bargain, Parking is expensive at $30 a night,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, friendly staff"
Lobby welcoming. Restaurant attached is mediocre and pricey. Staff smiling and helpful. Room adequate but no reading light on both sides of bed and limited outlets to charge phones, etc.. Bathroom clean and soap/lotion smelled yum.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cool hotel. Close to all shopping areas"
Awesome hotel. It was a five minute drive to nordstrom n allGenuine Expedia guest review
"modera the moderate"
It's a super classy hotel in the heart of Portland right on the rail system routes getting where ever you need to go fast and efficient. ... it's really a business class hotel with fine dinning and up scale class and beautiful rooms......Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Aptly named Modera"
We loved this place. Well designed, amazing staff who directed us to great eating spots. One night when we didn't feel like going out, we sat in the bar and had drinks and crisp, yummy French fries. Beds amazing. Lot of pillows (maybe not quite squishy enough for my down sensibility, but definitely okay) I was able to find NPR on the radio. We liked […] being the heart of town and the hotel is just the right size. Good eating spots Mother's for breakfast Veritable Quandrey for dinner Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
From the moment we were met by the valet parking attendants to our check out, it was a wonderful experience! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant excellent, rooms comfortable and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room, great staff and incredible design."
My wife and I chose this place because of the design and we are very happy that we did so. We travel to PDX quite a bit and will be staying here from now on. Cool rooms (we had the suite, room 503) it was large, clean and very cool!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Chic and comfortable"
Great downtown location! With a helpful staff, we found our way around quite easily. The in-hotel restaurant was fantastic! Our room was comfortable and would stay at Hotel Modera again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Check your credit card statement for extra charges"
Hotel lobby and outdoor seating area is very nice. The room itself was rather cramped. I was disappointed to see that I was charged for an item from the in-room concessions that we did not use. Bathroom was dirty (black mold growing at the top of the wallpaper near the shower, and several hairs left over from previous guests). The location is great, […] but overall I was disappointed with our room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean Cimfortable and Convenient"
Perfect for taking Portland's very efficient (and clean) public transportation to other parts of town, and to / from PDX Airport. Nice hotel with a modern look and feel - clean lines. Our room on the 2nd floor was nice, but fairly small. One quirk was that the room tempature stayed close to 70 even with the heater off (we stayed on a rainy spring weekend), […] so we had to open the window in our room to cool the room off. Restaurant was nice for breakfast. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for convention goers who want the city"
The Modera is convenient for the MAX light rail - you're only 15 mins away from the convention center, less for the Pearl District, and a stone's throw from the art museum and the downtown area. The restaurant is the in-place to go and the food's good too! The hotel staff are efficient and friendly. Definitely recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"FABULOUS PLACE TO STAY"
The Staff is truly one of the best in Portland. Pillows and comforter are comfy down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the art museum and public transportation."
We enjoyed our stay. Restaurant was very good and the service in the hotel was quite friendly. A bit far from shopping if that is your goal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad, not special"
This is not a luxury hotel. Its fine, but priced a bit high for what it is. The room we stayed in was pretty small but decently furnished and clean. The room phone didn't work, so we had to call the hotel on our mobile phones to reach the front desk and room service. They didn't offer to do anything about it. When we ordered breakfast we asked for some […] aspirin but room service told us they would not bring any and that we would have to go to the front desk to buy it - which I thought was kind of odd. Not a terrible experience, but I would not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"What I booked was not what I was given"
I booked a room with two doubles - we were traveling with our nine year old daughter. And were given a room with a queen. It was a restless night instead of restful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but noisy"
The hotel is very nice and staff pleasant. However, there isn't enough installation between the rooms because could hear people above and beside us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny, tiny room."
Room was very small. Air conditioner did not work. Room was very warm and the ineffective fan very loud. Checkout may be noon but expect housekeeping to bang on your door before noon to ask if you've checked out. Report this to staff and simply get "oh". On the upside restaurant steak was delicious!Genuine Expedia guest review
Super friendly staff, nice bar happy hour, cool patio.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient, friendly very high end hotel. Restaurant is excellent. Hotel staff very friendly. Hotel is right in downtown Portland. Convenient walking distance to shopping and Portland State University. Parking time extends until 4:00 after you check out which is really nice. Second time staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
Air conditioning barely worked; room was hot for entire stay. We left it set on 64 degrees & running the entire stay , & the room never cooled at all. Staff said that's as good as it got. One of 2 elevators didn't work for several days. Daily replacement of coffee items & glasses was spotty. The only storage was the small closet & a drawer in the night […] stand. At check out, staff didn't ask about our stay. Maybe they already knew. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Pros: - Each Floor has a fridge with tons of bags of ice cubes and bucket! Never seen it before! - Excellent staffs, very kind and funny - Great restaurant on the 1st floor - Business center with free printing + 2 PC and 2 Mac: No need to bring your own computer - Shampoo looks cheap, but actually really good ! - iPone/iPod user friendly: the Room has […] its station! No need to bring your own charger - I can spend the entire evening looking outside from the lobby. Quite nice. Cons: - Nothing in the room is free- even a bottle of water! - A bit strange formation of bathroom unit People who are staying at other hotels were very jealous of me. "Great lookin - few issues"
Great looking hotel, valet staff is amazing. Elevator was broken and no stairs were really available - very strange situation w the elevators and got stuck in them once -- not fun. Loved the resturant attached - food and service there was amazing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice small hotel."
Nice atmosphere, great bar. Rooms a bit small. Nice design. Would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great happy hour vibe at the bar and beautiful outdoor patio, terrific service and food. Well appointed room, comfortable bed but thin walls, could hear neighbors talking and using facilities. Excellent professional staff from bar to desk to valet parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"amazing art comfy room and a great restaurant"
I was there 24 hours had three meals all of them were amazing, the wrong very comfortable the bed needs upgrading, difficulty with security in the elevator but then again I'm handicapped, the best thing was is the fixtures are superb and the men's room has the best you're all I've ever seen in a hotel or anywhere. I will stay here I am thinking about […] staying here for a week and working and eating great wifi and the people guests people work here all beautiful and truly a wonderful city. "Modera was great!"
I e-mailed the concierge during our train ride to Portland and got great instructions for using light rail from the train station. He was also very helpful in picking some restaurants and things to go see. The room was very comfortable and even had an openable window, which is a huge plus for us. The location is great. The staff is great. The restaurant […] was really good, although the happy hour drinks were weak. We will definitely stay there again and can heartily recommend it. "hair dryer was a dead one，room was narrow n small."
Low quality but charged as four stars level, some room keepers will steal the food from room food bar but will charge from u card! Notice ur bill! For me it's just a two stars inn. 2 terrible 2 stay! Scary memory!Genuine Expedia guest review
For a downtown hotel, not the best value for your money. Parking at $30 was a bit much, plus only valet parking, so you had to wait for your car and tip each time you needed to go somewhere. I'll stay at the Vintage or the Benson next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Couldnt believe all the bells and whistles. Everything you could want and a great restaurant to boot. Free membership to a 24hr gym right next door too. See you next time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the price"
Clean room, nice staff, good restaurant with tasty pizza. The room was TINY, though. And our air conditioner was not working so it was about 80 degrees in our room the whole weekend. Also there is a full length mirror but you have to go inside the microscopic bathroom and shut the door to use the full length mirror. And the bathroom doesn't have a fan, […] thus exacerbating the heat in the room, so if you want to blow dry your hair after your shower, you're in for a long, hot haul. It's definitely a *situation*. Lighting is dim at best. There are 2 lamps. There is exactly one nightstand, so I just had to throw my glasses and book on the floor on my side of the bed. It's amazing, how much those little conveniences matter when you're paying $175/night. Valet parking is mandatory and $30, and that seems steep but it's unlimited. The valets are very nice and I saw one of them gracefully and professionally handle a bad situation with a horrible guest. This hotel seems like it was probably once a cruddy, run down motel that has been revamped. Not quite "lipstick on the pig," but not worth the same amount of money that you could pay at a hotel in the same area. Overall, it wasn't bad enough to switch hotels but I won't be staying there again, mostly because of the size of the room and the lack of air inside it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small room, strong paint smell in the hall"
I was excited for a weekend in downtown Portland. Hotel Modera is nicely situated in the heart of Portland. Close to many restaurants and attractions. The room on the other hand felt very cramped and outdated. We had reserved a king bed, but it was much more like a queen. The room had a unique smell when we first checked in and the fresh paint in the […] hall lingered. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay!"
We spent 4 nights at Hotel Modera. The room was beautifully decorated in a contemporary style (mid-century modern inspired). We had a great view of the city from our room. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel without reservation.Genuine Expedia guest review
Disappointed at first when saw exterior as it still looks like a Day's Inn, but once inside that impression is erased. The rooms are very small, expected in a boutique hotel, but since this is a converted Day's Inn, the rooms could have been enlarged.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Modera is a fine hotel, well located and with excellent rooms and good food in its restaurant. The service is impeccable, especially the way in which the valets have your car ready whenever you need it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Downtown Location"
The front desk person helped us save a bundle by parking on the street. The room was very nice. Totally updated, clean, nice bed and linens. No microwave, but that was OK. We really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard with the gas fire pits. The landscaping was very well done. Had the BEST PIZZA EVER! The service was great. Great location. We were able to […] walk to everything we wanted to do downtown. I will definitely stay here the next time I visit Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great, modern hotel - pretty close to everything"
Hotel was modern and beautiful. Actually has a good restaurant, if you don't feel like venturing out. Staff couldn't have been better. Free passes to 24-Hour Fitness, right around the corner. 10-15 minute walk to the heart of downtown (Portland is VERY walkable). Would gladly stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the heart of Portland."
This hotel was a gorgeous hotel. The staff was more than friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. It was near great restaurants, shopping, and also close to the waterfront trail for running. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
