Worse hotel I have been at in my life

they first put us in a 2-bedded room. while they could not immediately switch us to the king-bed room we had signed up for, the next morning they upgraded us to a fabulous room with a gorgeous view. so all in all we were well satisfied.

If you want water and harbor views, this hotel is great. It has been around awhile so some of the fixtures, paint, showers, etc are pretty dated and in need of upgrades. The price is extremely reasonable for the location. You are on a peninsula in the middle of Marina Del Rey harbor. Right outside our patio door was the water, and a giant seal laying […] in the sun on the dock! Watched a beautiful sunset and lots of sailboats from the patio, extremely relazing. The only problem if there was one was that our patio was very accessible to the road and people walking by and they were able to look right into our room. The lock on the patio door was broken so we were concerned at night. The staff was fantastic and very accomodating, offering us another room, but we did not want to give up the view. We stayed 3 nights, and were very pleased. Easy location to get to, good parking, pleasant staff. Has been well maintained. It's a bargain for the area. Absolutely would stay again.

I was disappointed. I thought it would be better. The hotel needs a renovation. Plus you can here footsteps from the room above you. I would not recommend.

We chose the Marina Del Rey Hotel as our base camp for a five-day visit to Los Angeles. Highlights: Friendly, accommodating desk service; very clean room; comfortable bed with great bedding; free wifi. Lowlights: dated, tired decor; noise from hall and adjoining rooms. The hotel is about 10 minutes from LAX off Lincoln Boulevard, and it's smack in the […] middle of the marina with great views in almost every direction. Several good restaurants are within walking distance, and hotel is less than two miles from Venice Beach. We didn't visit the hotel restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it was just too cold during our March visit to enjoy the outdoor heated pool! Given its proximity to several nearby big-name, big-dollar hotels, the Marina Del Rey is a bargain for its location for travelers looking for comfortable lodging while they spend their days exploring LA. ROOMS OLD VIEW OF OCEAN BLOCKED BY UNKEPT TREES. FLOORS OVER HEAD SQUEAKED .NO ONE OFFERS TO ASSIST W/LUGGAGE. TELEVSION NO CABLE BED LOOKED VERY UNDRESSED POOR DECOR

This hotel hasn't been updated since it was built and it looks like it was built over 50 years ago. The rooms smell horrible and the bathrooms are a joke. They have cracked tiles everywhere, horrible shower heads and it's just plain dirty!

Marina Del Rey is certainly a hotel to check out - the view is fabulous, the staff, front desk, cleaning people, restuarant workers are all 1st rate in customer service - I have never fcelt so welcome in a hotel - we were on a 9 day vacation and unfortunately only spent 1 night at marina del rey but when asked my favorite part of the trip - marina del […] rey is what I say. The hotel is a basic facility, inexpensive and well-situated. I'm always annoyed by hotels that save money by putting the bathroom sink out in the open so that if one gets up at night, the light disturbs anyone else in the room. The sliding closet door couldn't be opened on one side. The bathtub was enclosed with a cheap sliding glass door. But this […] was an inexpensive hotel, so it was okay. This hotel needs a serious OVERHAUL. The water pressure and temperature in the shower constantly change. The carpets EVERYWHERE are buckling from wear. The parking lot is a LOOOONG walk with bags... but honestly, the biggest downers for me were: pool but no hot tub, quality coffee in the dining area - Santa Barbara Coffee Roasters - but only Nestle's […] Coffee Mate (really, NO 1/2 & 1/2!) to cream it. Works for the price and locale. Needs hallways and common elements to be upgraded.

We were abte to bring out two dogs and enjoyed every minute there....we will certainly stay there again. Excellent food service, and food. We loved it.

Actually in the marina. Nice hotel. Beautiful area. Very convenient. Room left a lot to be desired. TV didn't work well. Towels were made of sand paper and bathroom layout was not good.

what more should I say, we left after the first day because we did not want to stay there one day more. We ordered one of the better rooms with a sea view, still the room was run down and dirty. do not stay here, it is not worth the money and every motel at the airport is in a better shape.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and the winter rate made it quite affordable. The room was beautiful as was the hotel itself and location. My husband and I enjoy walking and there were plenty of beautiful sites to see along the way and at the harbor itself. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!

Peeling wallpaper. Stains on drapes and carpet. Out of date elevator permits. Looks like this was a great place in the 50's, but the owners are doing nothing to keep it up, and it's pretty gross. Avoid.

Excellent Internet, Convenient to LMU and LAX. Safe parking. Quiet. Older condition. I would stay again.

I used to arrange my bag before i go out the room and i know what is on it. I went out and ask them to arrange my room when i came back every thing was fine except a new perfume was Taken from my bag !!! Still try to see what i can do to get my perfume back !!! The hotel is good and in perfect location i will go back

OMG - they put me on the 2nd floor with someone above me who, when they walked, caused the floor to squeak and it kept me up the entire evening. The guests above me were late to bed and very early to rise. It was soooooooo annoying! Room Service forgot my breakfast...again...and when they checked me in, they gave me the key to the wrong room. There was barely anyone in the hotel, but they put us in a room with no view except the giant awning out front. Asked if we could switch rooms they did in fact give us a nicer room. View of marina was much better. The hotel is in a great location for our needs and parking seems safe. The hotel has seen better days, the first room smelled of mold and […] the windows wouldnt open and the room was in poor condition. The second room was in better condition, but old and run down. T.V.s are old and didnt work that great. The property needs some serious work and tlc. Could be a really nice place if kept up. Dont think we would book the same place again. Read more

This hotel has great potential, but needs a big inflow of cash to fix it up and reburbish it. The overall feeling was "tired" and dated. Even the restaurant lacked energy, good service and attention to detail. It's the best priced hotel in Marina Del Rey located on the water, but there's a reason for that.

This is our second stay. It is nice hotel in a quiet area that is easy to get to from LAX and close to the beaches and eating places. It does need updating in the rooms and the curtains could use a major thorough cleaning. Rest of the room was clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Right in the water in Marina Del Rey. Price is very reasonable for the area. Most of the hotel is a bit worn down and threadbare, but everything is entirely functional. Wifi worked well. No fridge, but a big ice bucket and free ice just down the hall. The front desk staff was excellent. It certainly was a great view for the xtra money, but I think you should update your hotel. The shower was old looking, the TV service was not the best and the beds, I found, were way too firm for my liking.

The hotel is in a perfect location at Marina Del Rey; eacy access to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Pacific Palisades. The hotel was satisfactory, growing old and needs some maintenance but it was clean and had good views of the marina. Priced well. Bar and Restaurant satisfactory and lots of free parking. A good stay.

My husband and I previously lived in MDR and this location was perfect for our visit. The view and atmosphere staying in the Marina certainly added to the experience of our stay. The value based on location is also very good - as other hotels in the area are quite expensive. On the negative, the hotel needs some upgrading and maintenance. There were […] some obvious surfaces (nightstands and desk) that could have looked a lot better with a recent paint job. So, I'm not even suggesting that everything has to be brand new. But, at the very minimum take care of the things that can be easily done. The hotel is pet friendly, which in our case was a negative as the people next door left their dog in their room unattended, and the dog was howling. The management did address the issue and the situation was solved by calling the owner and having them come back to the room. More positives: the beds were comfortable, the internet is good and the parking is free. As I mentioned the location is excellent, and the neighborhood is safe. I probably wouldn't recommend the hotel though, unless I could give a thorough explanation of what to expect. Will I stay here again? I'm pretty budget conscience so I may. But I'd have another look around first to see if I could get a better room for the same price. Best would be to pay a little more and have the hotel renovate and then I'd gladly stay at their great location. Read more
