"Excellent base to explore greater Miami"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

"Nice Hotel & nice price, except for the extras $$$"
The hotel was nice for the price, until they charged $25 to park your car, and $40 for breakfast. Should have clearly stated that there was a parking fee, and that breakfast was additional. Even if you didn't want breakfast, they didn't even offer complementary coffee. They wanted $3.00 for that too. Would not stay at this hotel again.
We had a lovely stay. The view of the ocean was beautiful, the staff was very courteous and friendly.
Very good ! They only need an airport shuttle, then perfect.

"Hyatt in Fort Lauderdale, close to the beach."
We had a beautiful east facing view from our room in the tower that overlooked the canals, beaches and Port Everglades. It was a wonderful addition to our giant, comfy and very homy bed we enjoyed. All in all it was lovely. The only negative aspect was that it would have been nice to have a bigger bathtub. But, that didn't hinder our lovely experience […] at this hotel! Read more

"A little disappointed"
Our view of the marina was blocked, we could only see a tiny bit of the marina. The revolving resturant was closed and that was the main reason I booked this hotel, The shams and curtains in the room had splash marks on them, but the bed were very comfortable. Oh and to top it all the we were charged $6 dollars for bottled water. Overall the stay was […] ok did not spend much time in the room. Read more
"Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale"
Most of the hotel rooms appear to be in an older part of the hotel, and not in the newer tall building they feature. Our room smelt a bit musty but the grounds were kept up nicely. It looks like this hotel does quite a volume of guests as it is fairly close to the cruise terminal. However, the hotel offers no shuttle service so we had to pay two taxi […] fares. Read more

"Close to Cruise Port"
Chose this hotel mainly due to it's proximity to Port Everglades, and the Hyatt Regency name. Got a great rate, but for the discount price we had a "lanai" room, which are in a motel-style building off to the side of the property and not in the main tower. But it was quiet, and we were able to use all the Hyatt amenities the next day before we left […] for our cruise ship. Was a bit disappointed that there is NOT a hotel shuttle to the port. Also, the computers in the business center are pay-per-minute. Other hotels on the strip have these things for free. Read more
"Good Night Stay"
We had just came off a cruise and booked this online before we arrived back in Fort Lauderdale. A stone throw from the Princess Cruise Pier and not far from the FLL Airport. Should have a shuttle. Really nice and clean rooms. The Pelican Pier was very good to eat at but not too much else around. A good price only gets you 2nd floor no elevator.
"Hyatt- Lauderdale"
My boyfriend and I checked in for one night and as soon as we arrived the very happy receptionist told us that she could bump us up into a Tower suite. We had got an amazing deal already on our room and to be bumped up further was a great surprise. We had an amazingly big room, with two sizable double beds, a very spacious living area, balcony and very […] large bathroom. The only down side was the stand up shower, but a small barely noticeable factor. I will definitely be returning to the hotel in the future and recommend it to other travelers looking for luxury, comfort and affordability. Read more
"Ahhhhhh"
The overall decor and appearance of the hotel was wonderful! Not to mention that their pool is open 24hrs!!! I enjoyed looking at the yachts in the bay from my balcony. It was truly a pleasant experience! I will be back when I have more time to enjoy more of their amenities!! :))
"Needs attention"
I booked that Sunday for same day arrival but then they tell me they are "sold out"! They said I should have "called their hotel" which makes me wonder if that's why they gave me a filthy room (which I took photos of, so they switched us). The next room had issues that they sent their maintainance man up to fix. I've stayed here before on a regular […] booking with no problem. Hmmmm? Read more
"Poor Service"
The wait staff at the pool bar and lobby bar was not up to par. Service was slow or non-existent. The price paid was not indicative of the type of service that I am used to.
"Ft Lauderdale Hotel near the Port"
The hotel itself is a bit old but they do a very nice job with what they have. The pool is great and they had good house lounge music playing during the weekends (when not raining). The lounge bar staff is really nice and the food was better than I expected. They have a sushi chef in the lobby who made some interesting and delicious creations. I stayed […] here for work reasons to be near the Port. If you're taking off or coming back from a cruise, you can't beat the room rates and accessibility. Read more
"Regency Pier 66"
My wife and I were ending a cruise in Ft Lauderdale and spending 2 additional nights there. We chose the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 after reading some good reviews. Upon our early arrival, we were greeted by a friendly front desk person who was very accomodating. She confirmed the "package" we had booked online and when we informed her we were celebrating […] our 13 year anniversary, she gave us a complimentary upgrade. Our experience was very good. The bellmen were friendly, the concirege very informative and accomodating, and the premises very clean, quiet and nice. The only bad thing is their on site eateries were VERY expensive. Glad we had a meal voucher included in our 2 night stay!! We would recommend this place to others for sure. Read more

"Not Pet Friendly - they simply accept pets"
The hotel is conveniently located for our most recent business trip; however, the lanai rooms are old and outdated. Stained carpets and I found 5 hairs in the tub upon arrival. We traveled with our pet (12 lb 10 year old miniature pinscher that we adopted from a rescue organization 2 months ago) and chose this hotel mainly for A) its location, B) the […] fact that they accept pets, and C) the Hyatt name. While some of the staff has been wonderful, like Chris at the Orchid poolside restaurant, and Johnny at Pelican Landing, when I called the front desk to report that my small dog had been attacked by one of the many feral cats on the property, I was told that I was in a room that did not allow pets, even though I clearly put the request in my booking. The gentleman further told me that they cannot control the feral cat population and he was more interested in deflecting my concerns by telling me I had been less than upfront when booking the room as to traveling with a pet. I did not ask for anything, not for them to pay for vet fees for an exam, or any type of refund, or anything; just notified them that the feral cats were a problem for pet owners. They told me that they were going to charge me the pet fee (fine, I assumed they already had because I told them I was bringing a pet). I gave them the location of the cat that chased us down the hotel corridor a good ten feet attacking my dog while I was dragging her backwards. While walking the property with my dog, looking at the many boats in the marina, we encountered two more feral cats as well. I was very disappointed in the front desk clerk's lack of any type of concern - he didn't even ask if my dog had been injured; he simply began accusing me of not telling them I was bringing a pet. I called hotels.com and reported the incident and they confirmed that my booking reservation clearly stated we were bringing a pet with us. I hear the tower rooms are renovated and in much better shape. I chose the 2 story lanai room b Read more
"Poor Management Follow-up"
I was really annoyed that the hotel advertises the use of the athletic equipment and sauna at no additional charge and when you arrive there to use it they charge a fee. I asked for the manager to call me on two separate occassions and they failed to return my call. On a positive note: The hotel is a bit of a hiden secret. Great value and the front […] desk and cleaning personnel are most helpful and couteous. I recommend trying it out. Read more

"Perfect spot if heading out on a cruise"
Great location and value for my family and I prior to cruising out of Fort Lauderdale. Wish they had a shuttle to and from the ship which is less of a distance than the beach.
"Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft Lauderdale"
There were some issues with insects as could be expected in Florida and the AC was not working right but what made the difference was the attention and prompt response from the staff. From the front desk to the room cleaners, they made you feel welcome and that was priceless.
"Excellent Hotel for People on Cruises"
Stayed at this hotel after a 7 night cruise through the caribbean. Was able to check in early, 10am! staff was very helpful and the hotel is a convenient 5 minutes from Port Everglades and 15 minutes from airport--but is not noisy at all. lovely grounds on the pier 66 marina, overlooking the canals of Ft. Lauderdale. water taxi stop is 5 minutes away […] and takes you to all the places you want to go in Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood (Los Olas Blvd, Hilton convention center, Mega Mansions, Beach, Etc.). Hotel was built in the 50's, but a recent renovation and paint job have done a nice job of updating the style--though a little generically (seems a little like IKEA). For the price, it was a great deal to have a big room, 2 double beds, fresh new sheets, comfortable pillows and nice big updated bathroom (no bath tub, shower only). Room was very quiet, even though there was a big wedding going on in the pool area. Pools were great, big, open and lots of palm trees to help shade/lie under. I would not hesitate to go back in a minute. For a Mid-range price, this hotel is an excellent bargain and should not be passed up. It made me love Ft. Lauderdale... Read more

"Love this hotel!"
Had an absolute amazing time while staying at the hyatt. Stunning views, great location, and a very humble and inviting staff. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Only hotel I would stay in when I'm in fort lauderdale. Can't wait to go BACK!
Hyatt Regency Pier 66 has low rates for reasons - the hotel is spread out (lots of walking required), I'm guessing late 1960s construction; property restaurants are ovelooking the water but one must walk to them; air conditioners work (make noice) all day and night to keep the rooms cool; and there are tiny bugs throughout the room. Business center […] costs $3 to access computer and $0.99/minute plus cost of printing; total cost is about $5 if you print 1 page. Office Depot is just down the street if you need to print 10 pages or more. Staff is very pleasant and accomodating. Plus the hotel is centrally located. Would I stay there again - no. Read more

"Hyatt Pier 66"
This is one of my favorite hotels. Nice place. Clean. Great grounds. Marina. Grille 66 is a favorite. The staff is accomodating.
"cheating unfriendly"
you have to pay a $20,00 fee for selfparking. so you have to add this to the room rate--> too expensive build 1957, rooms interior improved but the rest still 1957 reception-never had such a unfriendly reception this is very exceptional for hyatt-so remove this hotel from your listing
"Fishing get away!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It's very simple. The outside of the hotel is very impressive, (clean, great appearance). The rooms on the other hand are not even close to the appearance of the outside. I paid extra for an upgrade after checking in. The room I was given had absolutely NO view because the plants had been allowed to grow so high (2nd floor) that they blocked any view. […] I decided to live with this. After a night of air conditioning no working properly I talked to the front desk and they sent a maintenance person to my room and to fix the AC. I was told by him that when I returned to my room I better have a winter coat. WELL, upon returning to my room we realized the tempature had gone up a few degrees. We spent yet another night in WAY to HOT a room. Part of the problem is we were booked for fishing each morning so couldn't talk to the desk until we returned in the late afternoon. This time we were moved to a different room on the same floor and YEAH the AC WORKED just fine, although the door to the balcony wouldn't open unless you forced your whole body against it. (We opted not to mess with it). We spent 6 nights at this hotel and although we had a few problems the overall experience was fine. Booking as many nights as we did we got a free night which helps. The parking for (SELF parking is 21.00 PLUS tax. This absolutely SICK.......You people should be ashamed of this. Overall experience not bad but certainly not great. ALSO, had an encounter with a person from the SixtySix Restaurant delivering to a boat staying at the marina. I was leaving the parking lot and he was backing up. I blew my horn and he stopped. He then proceded to backup with me behind him, I again backed up and I had to let him know I was behind him. This happened 3 times before I finally got past him without getting hit. He then rolled down his window and yell at me that I was a "Redneck". As he was yelling at me he ran over a curb. (the back of his van was completely dented.). Wonder who caused them. "Hyatt Pier 66 is GREAT"
Easy access from airport; close to beach. Great yachts as ''neighbors''! Felt wealthy!! Quiet; lovely grounds.
The Hyatt at Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. was a beautiful hotel the only 2 negatives were that the refrigerator was missing from the room & when we asked about it we were told they'd check & let us know. 2 days & no one ever contacted us or appeared with a refrigerator. The second negative was the pool was not clean. Many areas of mold along the perimeter […] and the water was not a clear, healthy looking place to be in. Other than that, the place was great.
