My husband and I stayed for one night prior to a cruise. The hotel is OK, but there were signs of wear and tear; carpet getting frayed in our hotel room. I can see how this is a great place for kids. When we cruise, we stay the night before at this hotel. The hotel is not new but well maintained and relaxing. The room this time was very comfortable, clean and had been updated. The food in the lounge area is very good along with the breakfast in a different restaurant within the hotel. This has to be the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in...I stayed here a few times last year and each time I return I realize how amazing this hotel is. My son got sick during tje say but they were more than accommodating for us... My Housecleaner on the 9th floor was so sweet to my kids.... We chose to stay at Hyatt Pier 66 for the convenience of location to the piers. We found the hotel to be very clean and the surroundings relaxing and beautiful. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only negative was the transportation provided to our cruise ship. It took us 1 1/2 hours to go approximately 3 miles. "No water taxi"

The hotel was quite nice. The only negatives were the grounds were quite dark at night when we were walking around, but I guess that was to keep bright lights out of people's rooms, and the parking was $20, which is ridiculously expensive on top of the cost of the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Property is attractive and well situated to get to highways given it was a biz trip. Open grounds with lots of activities and family friendly. I did not use any services save the gym. WARNING!!! I booked a Marina View room for $249/night. When I got to the room there was a HUGE Yacht docked spanning several rooms and completely blocking my view of the water. I complained to staff and they told me that they "warn" guests that this could happen and there was nothing they could do. This is hotel is not what you would usually expect from a Hyatt but it is still very nice. The rooms were clean but musty smelling. This would be expected I guess with the humidity and ocean. It still isn't very pleasurable and tends to make your clothes smell as well. The grounds were fantastic and a great place for kids to have fun. After our cruise I found 3 large charges totaling almost $1000 wrongly billed to my credit card which they took care of immediately once I called after I got back from my cruise a week later. I had to wait for the accounting department to come back to work because the front desk couldn't help me. So check your bill and credit card before and after you leave. They were very pleasant and apologetic about it and it certainly wouldn't deter me from staying there again. It was a nice place to stay and very convenient for cruises leaving the post. "Not up to its full potential...hotel and brand"
A property with potential; however, during our stay a true disappointment to say the least. The hotel was recently renovated, or so we thought. It seems that the only concentration was the lobby area. However, the rooms were musty, walls had mildew, very dirty air conditioning vents (intake and outtake). The staff are not up to par to a 4 or 5 star […] hospitality. They could not handle the volume and as a result we received our room at 4:30pm (well after their guarantee time). After being extremely standoffish, the second person at the front of the house apologized; however her promise to send something to the room as an apology went unfulfilled. Next morning, when checking out, we highlighted the problems (there were other guests doing the same) but their attitude towards the many problems was less than desirable. Based on other recent Hyatt stays, I don't believe the brand is living to its past or even potential. Much work is needed from property updates (guest rooms specially) to staff hospitality skills. "Hyatt's Pier 66 is still venerable, but aging."
We have not stayed at this property for over 20 years. It was the crown jewel of the Port Everglades complex in its day. The revolving rooftop restaurant was a hot ticket and the view was always breathtaking. Although the hotel is now operated as a Hyatt Regency and has been refurbished several times, it is a bit dowdy and would honestly rate at the […] bottom of a Hyatt brand. That wonderful restaurant is now used only for banquet service and not having it available is disappointing. If you are heading out on a cruise, as we were, this is a very convenient place to stay. The gardens and pool area are well maintained and managed. The docks that house some amazing yachts are also well cared for. The staff is outstanding. The Concierge is more than helpful and a font of information. I would stay there again, but have high hopes that this one time "top of the shop" property will get the care it deserves. Pre cruise stay. Booked a Jr executive suite in the tower 7th floor. Corner unit large balcony. Balcony furniture is much to be desired and really needs upgrading and a bigger lounger.
