Beautiful location. Stunning views from our tower room balcony. Food at the pool bar was excellent. Self parking at $21 per night was a bit expensive. Overall its a nice hotel, well located and room was comfortable. Mini fridge didn't work. They switch our confirmed room saying the hotel was full. Room was really nice and beds were excellent. "Nice hotel but not really worth >$200/night"
We've been going to this hotel for over 15 years. Much of the staff, especially those by the pool, are still the same folks. They are doing a nice job updating. Unfortunately, construction is ongoing. My kids were very much looking forward to riding the exterior elevator to enjoy the views. This was closed in December and THREE MONTHS LATER is still […] closed. There is a major renovation going on in the marina on the property - construction equipment everywhere. We had requested adjoining rooms. The 'connection' was via the outside balcony which was a bit awkward given that we had one room for parents and another for children. And, housekeeping locked the sliding doors to the balcony every day so we had to reopen both rooms. Floors were never thoroughly cleaned. There was hair on the floor and rainbow loom elastics as well. Despite leaving a note to PLEASE clean the floors, the items were still there. We stayed for a week and although the sheets were changed and towels replaced, the room was never really cleaned. With tile floors and sand, this was not so great. This is a terrible hotel. We checked in at 4:45. First we were told that they could not find our reservation , however, after 10 mins of searching, i was told that it is filed under my first name, then the computer went down. I said it is under my first name, which i gave him. After 2 mins of searching, he yelled it is under your first name ( argument back and forth about him yelling at me). So he gave us a key for the first floor. I said the lady earlier told me we have a 2nd floor room. So he gave us a room on the second floor. We finally reached our room after 5 mins of walking. I was getting ready to take a shower and turned the water on. OMG, the tub was dirty with some hair and other floating materials. I called the front desk and they sent someone to clean it. "Beautiful grounds/landscaping, but needs updating"
We really enjoyed the location and watching the boats going up and down the channel. We love everything boating so this was a perfect hotel for us. We aren't big into the beach so the pools were great. There are a total of three pools with plenty of lounge chairs. Another plus is that the Water Taxi stops at the hotel. The Water Taxi is a great deal […] at $22 for the whole day (on and off as many times as you want). On the flip side, the hotel seems a little "worn" and could use a fresh coat of paint and updated furnishings. One really annoying aspect was that housekeeping would never leave enough towels and wash clothes. Three days in a row we only received one wash cloth for two people and were never left more than two towels. We would have to call the front desk or "steal" them off their cart when they were cleaning other rooms. Very annoying!! We did enjoy the size of the hotel property.
