They were very helpful and the free breakfast quite good and the rooms were clean but the carpet was showing a bit of wear

The hotel from the outside looks pretty bad but the rooms are really nice. Poor customer service at the front desk

"over-night stay before cruise"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We really liked San Pedro Inn & Suites. It was perfect for our over-night stay before our cruise. The price that we paid for the room was a good value. The staff was friendly. We were suprised that such a good breakfast was included in the price of our room.

Multimillion-dollar mansions flank Beverly Hills’ palm-lined streets. Lifestyles of the rich and famous are on full view on Rodeo Drive’s boutiques, from Armani to Zegna. Not coincidentally, the Melrose District east of Beverly Hills has excellent secondhand shops. Many up-and-coming design studios are based in Melrose. Nearby, West Hollywood, or WeHo, is the epicenter of Los Angeles gay life.

"Nice alternative"
Great quirky classic alternative to the larger hotels. Good location. Comfortable room, nice (albeit small) bathroom.

It was great overall. One problem is the hallways have an odor like a old folks home. The staff is terrific.
"Great Hotel!"
This hotel is within walking distance to Rodeo Dr. The staff was very professional and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The shampoo and conditioner are of great quality. The bed was very comfortable and the surrounding area is very quiet. Their coffee was amazingly good! This is a great hotel to stay in. I highly recommend it.

"LA"
Perfect trip, perfect location.
"Maison 140 - Great Location"
Looking at the map you'd think it's right on Santa Monica, but it's actually tucked away. For the price, this is a great find. It's also equidistant to the major agencies if you're in town for business.
"Parisian charm in the heart of Beverly Hills"
Close to french bistros (try Ingrid's!) and Rodeo Drove. Lovely staff and unique history.
"Maison 140, "queen" room too small for two adults"
This hotel is in a terrific location. The rooms available for the special rates are very small, and we would hesitate to recommend for two adults for any stay longer than a night or two. We liked being able to access our own car in the lot right next to the hotel, avoiding the usual wait for a valet. Overall the location made up for room size but only […] for a short stay. Read more
"Mainly Service"
The hotel was ok. Rooms were a combination of old and new. Seemed a little swanky in the lobby, but the rooms had old wall paper and a super old heater which sounded like a diesel truck until it warmed up. As for the service, I arrived around 10pm and the 22 year old receptionist was less than helpful. A manager couldn't be reached and she was like […] a deer in the headlights trying to solve my problem. I probably wouldn't stay again for what I paid. 20% cheaper, maybe. I essentially paid for the neighborhood. Read more

"Maison 140"
The hotel was nice. Everyone on the staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating! My flight arrived early, and they made it possible for me check into my room well before their usual time! All the staff remembered my name and called Mr. (I'm 32) every time they saw me. They were very personable; I was happily impressed. The hotel itself is […] exactly what you'd expect from a boutique hotel. It's small and quaint. The rooms are small, and the bathrooms are even smaller, but they are nice looking and well put together. It's L.A., I wasn't spending any time in the room except to shower and sleep. Speaking of, the bed was very, very comfortable! It's always tough for me when I stay out of town because my bed is top notch, but I really enjoyed their bed. Also, the location is excellent. I would stay there again, if I got the same rate (about a 55% discount). Their full rates are expensive, but they're comparable to surrounding boutique hotels. Also, parking is $28 per night, which unfortunately is common at hotels there. Good thing is, there's no vallet, so you don't have to tip someone to bring your car 20 feet (the parking lot is very close and easily accessible). Overall, I liked the place, and I'd stay there again. Nice staff, good bed, great location, and at the discounted rate it was worth the price without killing my wallet. Read more
"Hotel Maison 140, very well situated"
I stayed for 2 nights in the hotel Maison 140. The neighbourhood was very well situated; just a couple of blocks away from Rodeo Drive and close to two stops of the Yellow Line from Starline Tours. The first night I had difficulty sleeping in because of walking noise hotel guests upstairs, the airco outside and the fridge. As I just came from the Westin […] Bonadventure, Downtown LA I missed: bath, swimming pool and spaciousness. I though the Westin Bonaventure would be too far away from Hollywood. However, collegues of mine stayed there and they said it was perfect. The purple line of Starline Tours from Westin Bonaventure takes you straight over the highway to Hollywood and you can take metro to Farmers Market and Yellow Line from there to the beach. All in all Maison 140 (at 50% off rates) would have been fine with me if I had not had the comparison with the Westin Bonaventure. At full rate, I would not have taken it. Read more

"it was...OK"
I have nothing really bad to say. It was an older hotel with an old "lift", not an elevator. That tells you what its like. The room were small and there are no amenities associated with a big hotel. That being said, it was cute and quaint.
"Hotel Maison 140"
Lovely boutique hotel- pretty rooms, very nice staff, French music playing- could be in Paris- and they serve a glass of champagne every afternoon- perfect to take to the room for a hot bath and getting ready to go out...stay was too short to enjoy much else...
"Beautiful boutique hotel"
Undoubtedly the best, most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had in the U.S. ... wonderful staff and a great location also.

"Beverly Hills"
Very convenient to Rodeo Drive and lovely restaurants. Room small but didn't spend much time in room.
Comfy bed but very small room. Loved the bathroom but the food options were very limited.
"Great stay at Maison 140"
If you want a non-tradtional boutique hotel then this is the place to stay. It used to be a boarding house in the 40's for aspiring actors and actresses and they try to keep that same feeling with the decor and it works! Rooms are small but well equipped with all the amenities. The bed is sooo yummy that I went out and bought the same sheets, pillows […] and featherbed! It was perfect for my 50th bday and the location is great for shopping in Beverly Hills or Century City. Price is reasonable for the area. Read more
"Service was great..."
The hotel was great for a one night stay, but I wouldn't want to stay here long term. The hotel was a little smelly and the bathroom was SMALL! The bed was VERY comfy and the service at the front desk was AMAZING!
"A bit of Paris in Beverly Hills"
Charming boutique hotel. Great, but expensive, breakfast. Very good service.
"Charming and friendly"
I had a wonderful experience at Maison 140, which is convenient to al of Beverly Hills. If you'd like to stay in a lovely boutique hotel with character, this is it.
"Uncomfortable Bed"
The hotel is a little dated but chic. Really my only gripe would be that the mattress in my room was not comfortable. I travel a lot for work and look forward to a restful night's sleep when on the road. Loved that I was offered a glass of rose when I checked in. Also loved that I was informed of live jazz music for the following night. Wish this hotel […] was a tad more business friendly. Read more

"Maison 140 - a little jewel, sparkling quietly"
this is a really nice hotel. was in LA on business and a colleague and myself stayed a few nights. The staff was great, the bar (and their Absinthe 'thing') a nice diversion, and the simple breakfast a real pleasure. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
"Wonderful stay for my birthday"
The service at this hotel is really what sets it apart. Sarah and Amber were so helpful and pleasant! They scheduled my early check-in, secured a taxi, recommended places to eat and lounge, and even left a wonderful treat in my room for my birthday. They were available to help with anything and everything I needed. The decor is beautiful and the bath […] products are great but there are many other hotels with these amenities. Where Maison 140 really shines is in the quality of the staff, the best in Beverly Hills. Read more
"Adorable and chic!"
We will definitely be back!

"Parking"
The front desk should have a sign alerting guests that the City of Beverly Hills does not allow street parking overnight, despite the fact that there are no posted signs on the street indicating this fact. After I received a $65 citation for parking right in front of the hotel, the staff was happy to charge me $25/night (plus tax!) to self-park in their […] lot. I'm not sure who I'm mad at more. "Other Charges" (parking, continental breakfast) not revealed prior to booking. Room too small Minimal staffing
"Maison 140"
The hotel was conveniently located. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the room was small.
"Best secret in Beverly Hills!"
I work in television and visit Los Angeles frequently. I have stayed in many dozens of LA hotels over the past 20 years and my friends consider me a bit of an expert on where to go and where to avoid. As of this moment, I am placing Maison 140 at the top of the must-stay list when in the Beverly Hills area. It is not a franchise, not even a typical […] looking hotel. It is a small, quanit property which has just been remodeled and now resembles something like a modern victorian mansion. The rooms are appropriate size, meticulously appointed, extremely high quality goods used on everything from bedding (SO COMFORTABLE) to fixtures, tv, carpet, window coverings, etc. The check-in process is more like entering the whitehouse and checking in as a VIP. No big obnoxious counter to approach, but instead a simple yet elegant little desk in the corner with a kind and quiet person sitting behind it stands to greet you and then hand you a key. Parking is right on property, security is excellent, a small but adequate fitness facility is there and maybe the best of it all is the location: quiet street but just yards from the gorgeous treelined streets of Beverly Hills elegant residential community. If you are tired of national chains, tired of being in loud areas, want your own quiet, elegant experience in Beverly Hills, this is your new hotel. You may find me there from time to time; when I'm not out shooting my tv series! Be sure to tell them the "TV Guy" sent you!! Read more
"Nice for the money"
Close to shopping and dining. An excellent hotel for the money. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely use this hotel again the next time I'm in town.
"Great design hotel, but needs a bit of upkeep"
I have stayed at this hotel twice over the past 5 years. The first time I stayed here, I loved it, so I booked a 4-night stay recently. It's still a great hotel, but it definitely needs to have some updating done to freshen up the condition of the furniture and wall coverings. It definitely has taken a bit of a beating over the past 5 years, and it […] shows, which was disappointing. The staff was super accommodating and the location of the hotel can't be beat. For those two particular reasons--plus the hotel's great design--I would recommend it to others. Read more
"Perfect location. Nice boutique hotel"
At arrivals they offer you a glass of champagne and make you feel at home. The hotel in itself is really cute and the bar arear even though it's small is very romantic and comfy. The rooms are quite small but it's clean and comfortable. You can't beat the location wich is perfect. An address to keep!
"Loved It,"
Maison 140 had excellent service, everyone was so willing to assit and tried to anticipate your needs before you even asked. Fabulous location. Rooms were cozy and comfortable. I would highly recommend
"Maison 140 in West Los Angeles"
Great little place in West Los Angeles and cute decoration. the rooms are very small though and it is only good if you just have to sleep there and get out all day. If you need to stay in the room, it gets a bit claustrophobic.
The front desk service was amazing but I was a little disappointed in my rooms decor and size. My hotel robe felt like wool and had a hole where the belt loop should've been. Although they were more than glad to replace it, it was a turn off. I thought this is Beverly Hills. Overall it was clean and quaint. The Bar Lounge area was beautiful and great […] for the evening I went out. Read more

"Great Find!"
Wonderful boutique hotel with fantastic customer service. Much less expensive than larger local chain hotels, although still pricey....but that's Beverly Hills. Great lounge. Lighting throughout could be a tad brighter. Great location for walking through Beverly Hills. Quiet. Staff has great knowledge of area and will help with restaurants, car rentals, […] tours, etc. Local restaurants close EARLY....beware. Must eat by 9PM. We got caught twice due to late conference hours and staff helped make up something from their kitchen. Read more
