This is a boutique hotel in a great location. The rooms are extremely small and the workout room is sub-par. Good for an overnight stay but less editable for an extended stay. Parking is $28 and really should be included.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel good location high parking fee"
Good hotel, helpful staff, small room, high parking fee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful front desk stuff, really nice people:)"
Fantastic location, intimate, private and very convenient parking. Beautiful area, clean rooms and friendly stuff, perfect for short inexpensive Beverly Hills stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the rooms were smallish and entire hotel in need of a minor facelift, the service was impeccable and the location too good to be true! Will definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I love this place!"
I love this place. I stay here whenever I am in LA. It's got old world, European charm and a contemporary twist. The most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. They still use actual keys which is what makes it charming.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money"
The room was very small w/ no mini fridge or bathroom exhaust fan. The old-school Door lock was loose and would be very easy to thwart. If you are a large "voluptous" person, do not stay here- you will not be able to fit in the tiny bathroom. PLUS, Beverly Hills Parking Enforcement wrote us a $62 ticket for "Overnight Parking," but there is no posted […] information on their signs as to this rule (or warning from the desk clerk). I guess BH sees un-witting Maison guests as cash cows. Will never stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely place to stay!"
The only downside was the rooms and elevator are on the smaller side. I only mention that because we were traveling with several boot boxes and suitcases. The luggage cart had to be sent up in the elevator alone and met by my husband on our floor. The hotel does not have Bell service so it was on us. All that said, we still enjoyed it very muchGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Boutique motel in Beverly Hills"
Nothing about this place was memorable except for the location. But the caveat is that you are forced to pay $28 for overnight parking at an unsupervised, non valet open lot. The rooms face parking lot. The check-in experience was uninspiring, the room cleaning misse some dust in the corners, rooms are tiny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Parking lot charges are excessive"
Pleasant staff, especially the bartender @ the small lounge.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Make it even more enjoyable and unique"
Very enjoyable boutique hotel, raise the level a notch by making the overnight parking complimentary, that will make it my favorite place in west LA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice, small boutique hotel"

"Great location, boutique hotel"
Small rooms, but very clean, and great staff. Half block from Wilshire Blvd - shopping mecca of Beverley Hills. Was the home of silent film start Lillian Gish. Bar open until midnight. Use of pool with Mosaic hotel -directly behind this hotel. Price was good for the location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good. Great cost performance."
Concierges were very friendly. My room was so clean. The hotel was close to Beverly Hills. I have no complaint.Genuine Expedia guest review
Elijah Allowed early check in, pet friendly, upgraded room, sent champagne for my wives b/day, Hope, the bartender was great at the hotel bar, two comp drink coupons.Room was immaculate. What more can I say!! We'll be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was clean and comfortable. Smaller than average but had a nice European feel. Was told by the front desk at check in that overnight street parking was illegal so we needed to pay $28 for parking - paid the $28 but later found out street parking isn't illegal. Was also told to come down for the complimentary continental breakfast before 10:30AM […] - turned out to be $14 for a very sub-par selection so we had breakfast elsewhere. Not sure if the misinformation was intentional but it leaves an unpleasant feeling. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Odd smell emanated into the room from who knows where the first night. They moved me rooms right away. They had also upgraded me from a queen to a king room before check in. Super friendly staff. Gave me free drink coupons upon check in. Very conveniently located. Would recommend and stay again. :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old hotel, remade"
The room and bathroom were quite small, but that is what you would expect in an old hotel. I don't know why they put a window in the bathroom?? Staff was very pleasant. Location is terrific.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Small Boutique Hotel with an excellent location!"
Located on a residential street, just in back of the Peninsula Hotel and a short distance to the Beverly Hills Wilshire Hotel and Rodeo Drive, this small Boutique Hotel is a real find and it has history. Originally the silent film star Lillian Gish's own home, it was turned into this hotel in 1980. At some point a small elevator was added. The rooms […] are not large, but the down bedding and high quality sheets compare to some of the finer hotels. Initially I rented a room with a Queen size bed, but upon arrival asked to view all the rooms and eventually settled on Room # 302 which is the top floor best King size bed room with a view of the back of the Peninsula Hotel, their gardens, and down a long street to tall buildings in the distance with twinkling lights at night. I paid the upgrade and was very satisfied with the room, the little larger bathroom, the wonderful hotel staff from Elijah and Martha at the front desk to the waiter staff at their sister hotel down the street where I enjoyed a delicious lunch served by their pool which is surrounded by 2 story tall White Bird of Paradise - a little bit of the Tropics in the heart of Beverly Hills. This hotel and it's sister the Mosaic are little Gems, reasonably priced and near many fine restaurants and great shopping. There is an additional $28 per night charge for overnight parking, but you'd have to pay for parking in any hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Was a very quaint and romantic hotel. I would definately stay there again in a minute. It was quiet and private, just very cool!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only thing I didn't care for is that there was no bellman. With that being said a staff member did help bring my luggage to my room. Bless him! Unfortunately when checking out i didn't get the same service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I got to the hotel late, I got the last room available next to elevator, that was not the problem, the TV would not work, the manager came to the room he couldn't fix it, they moved me the next day to a better room. the small room next to the elevator had no bar soap, no tea or coffe maker, it was bare bones, I could have stayed at a holiday in. "Central location, Great Staff"
This was perfect for our needs. Close to Beverly Hills, only about a mile walk to Century City Mall. Very clean. Staff was amazing and friendly. Greeted my husband with a complimentary drink. Room was small, but well appointed and had everything we needed. Classic style hotel. Will stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good value for good location"
I am not a fan of chain hotels, so this hotel fit the bill well for me. It is a fantastic location, and the hotel has a cool boutique vibe. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The one negative that I noticed (which didn't really bother me), was the condition of some of the areas/furniture. It didn't feel dirty at all, just some of the things […] seemed a little worn. An example would be the lamp in my room had a shredded cord with electrical tape on it. Again, not really a big deal, but they may consider replacing. The price was very competitive, and a very good value for the prime location. All in all, a very positive experience. I would recommend, especially if you are into places that are not cookie cutter. Will likely stay there again next time I am in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick, but just right"
Needed a nice place for my daughter and I to stay near her film premiere. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, the hotel was small and quaint, clean and comfortable. It was exactly what we hoped for at a reasonable price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent and Convenient"
Very nice hotel and a great value - very convenient to Santa Monica Blvd. Staff was very nice and Room small but very clean. Traditional, old-time feel and bed was most comfortable I ever stayed in! Booked easily on-line and I could not have been more pleased! Bravo!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very pleasant stay"
I chose thishotel because I saw the photos and I immediately liked the oriental inspired rooms and the lobby. The place is in a very quiet location in the heart of Beverly Hills and, moreover, is very close to bus stops 720, 704 and 728 (I had no car). The members of the staffs were particularly kind, helpful and enthusiast. I have to mention Mr. Elijhah […] and Ben. They offered us a free upgrade. The room was clean and fine. Unfortunately we left too early, but I hope we will visit again LA and surely we will come back to Maison 140. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely Get-Away in Beverly Hills"
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small and well decorated with a very comfortable bed and a newly remodeled bathroom. It was great to be in walking distance to great shopping & restaurants on Santa Monica Blvd.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is not a 4 star Hotel, nor a 3 star hotel, it is a 2 star hotel. It is in a lovely neighborhood and is cheap, but don't go with any other expectations. Rooms are cramped and furniture/bed were shabby and phones don't work.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has a great staff and the location can't be beat - its drawback is VERY tight small room and the bathroom is pretty microscopic The elevator is a VERY TIGHT squeeze with 4 luggages and two people NO ROOM LEFT AT ALLGenuine Expedia guest review
This was a wonderful small quaint hotel! The only down side was the small bathroom. Good location, efficient friendly staff. Would definitely visit again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very nice small hotel - the rooms are smallish but very elegantly appointed and very clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and even though we were very near the front of the hotel and lobby, it was also very quiet. The staff was great and helped us with directions to a couple of places. Not really a negative, but for the […] directionally challenged, it's a bit hard to find, especially if you don't know that Santa Monica Boulevard is actually two parallel streets - north and south - once I figured that out, I had no problem! "Charming boutique hotel, good location."
The hotel is charming, in a great central location, and the personnel were very nice. The room was clean, with pleasant eye appeal and comfortable linens/ pillows. The size of the room would be better with a Queen bed rather than a King; it's very tight in the Parisian room. The bathroom really needs more hooks or towel racks. We were only staying one […] night, but if you ask your guests to hang towels so that they don't get replaced daily to save water, there should be a place for them to hang and dry out!. Even if just staying one night, one needs to have a place to put the used towels, and/or robe. Also, there was only one waste basket; I moved the one from the bedroom into the bathroom. There should be one in both places. We did not have time to ask to be moved because of our schedule, but found that the bathroom had an unpleasant odor from the plumbing- a sink trap that needed cleaning out, we thought. That was the worst problem, and the kind of thing that should be QC'd between each visitor. (Our room was very clean and orderly- the housekeeping service was not the problem.) Would suggest that a self-serve coffee set-up in the bar area on the first floor would be most appreciated by your guests. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small room but overall good"
The room was small but since we spent most of our time outside the hotel, it didn't bother me too much. The concierge was great. They recommended a really nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and even made the reservation for us. Overall a good stay and I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall very good"
The hotel is very nice, it certainly has character and is at a great location. The A/C was noisy but otherwise the whole stay was good. Can't comment on breakfast, I opted out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"All good except for the air con"
It was a good stay except for the loud, outdated air conditioner. There wasn't any central air system in my room which was a major inconvenience. I had to sleep with earplugs. Thank goodness it was just for one night!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"elegant hotel stay"
we had a wonderful romantic getaway in this hotel. very upscale luxury and very nicely located to walk to downtown Beverly Hills. Do not expect to lounge poolside though (unless you want to go to the sister hotel a block away - but the pool there is small and just marginally inviting). So, if you are looking for a quiet, romantic, luxurious getaway […] this hotel fits the bill. But I am glad we didn't plan more than a night or two here, there just wasn't a whole lot to do. "Convenient location, average hotel"
The location is quite convenient within walking distance to Rodeo Drive, restaurants, etc. The hotel is average at best - rooms are small with old window air conditioners. Our room was on the first/ground floor, hotel staff woke started making noise that woke us up at 7am on Sunday. The service was not great either - there is no valet or bellman. Parking […] is $28/day. There are boutique hotels in WeHo that are much better value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beverly Hills Access"
Maison 140 was a great place to stay while exploring Beverly Hills and even West Hollywood. We are walkers and the location made it possible to spend two days experiencing the area without having to rent a car. We had two very nice dinners at restaurants that were within a couple of blocks. The hotel was clean and the staff happily accommodated our […] early arrival. It is not a large place and neither are the rooms, but they are well appointed. The exercise room was small but serviceable. The lounge area is quite nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good boutique hotel for Beverly Hills visit. Good location. Small rooms but good value. Friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Trendy yet quaint Beverly Hills boutique hotel. Loved the black, white, orange decor! Very friendly staff! Full bar with great coffee in lobby. They serve breakfast which I did not have. Across from the Peninsula Hotel and a 10 min walk the Beverly Hilton. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice couple retreat in a historic hotel"
Very nice area and beautifully remodeled. The queen room we stayed in was minuscule, but it was and old hotel relatively cheap so we were okay with it. I would stay there again for sure if the price stays low enough. This room was NOT big enough for any more than two who are very "familiar" with each other.Genuine Expedia guest review
