Great find! Small rooms but well maintained and comfortable. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. The small lobby felt like an upscale living room (if that makes sense) beautiful but inviting and comfortable. Location was great. Free wifi included.

Room felt as if it had too much humidity in spite of AC running constantly. Sheets felt damp. Extremely cramped quarters for 2 people. Sliding door for bathroom was bulky and hard to slide. Staff not well informed - or reluctant to share information about - public transit system, area amenities, etc.

Maison 140 is a terrific (and surprisingly well-priced) find in the heart of Beverly Hills, especially if you are into trendily appointed boutique hotels, as I am. This building was clearly once an undistinguished motor lodge, but the architect and interior designers did a fabulous job transforming a very basic space into something special. The lobby, while small, is especially charming. Ditto the bar area. And we were delighted with our room -- especially the bathroom, which was oddly enormous and gorgeously executed in pale marble and glass. Note: there is no on-site restaurant, but there is a bit of basic breakfast service in the bar area (as well as a Starbucks directly across the street). However, there is certainly no shortage of terrific, walkable food options in the center of Beverly Hills.

The room was only big enough for a bed and a chair, no room to move around. Bed was very uncomfortable. I paid over $300/night for a bed and a decent shower way overpriced, nothing available, i.e. food was only available at the hotel next door. I could get an alcoholic drink at night or a coffee in the morning nothing.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The only negative was the noise of the air conditioner, but the bed was extremely comfortable. A coffeemaker in the room would have been nice. We had breakfast at their sister hotel, The Mosaic, and breakfast for 2 came to $60, which was pretty pricey. The staff at both hotels were helpful and friendly.

I chose this hotel due to the location, rating and price. You never know how to rate a hotel for customer service until you actually do not rc any customer service when you require it. Our room had a faint sewer order when we arrived. We shared this with housekeeping and left for the day. We came back to the hotel to sleep a d the odor was still present. The next morning we left early only to come back later to shower. While showering and using the sink, the odor became intense. We called the front desk, the attendant on duty arrived about ten minutes later with a can of air freshener! He was evidently inexperienced in handling service situations. We had to ask to move, even though he agreed the smell was awful. He told us he would have a bellman help us move to their sister property. We waited for the bellman to arrive, then left to find them chatting at the front desk. The 'bell man' never asked to help us with our bags but led us to the sidewalk and pointed at the sister property. It turns out the 'bell man' was the bartender and he made no apology for not helping us, and only offered rude commentary. I do not recommend hotels that offer poor service and as I said, you never know how the service will be until you need it and this hotel obviously is not going to win any awards here.

Having read the reviews about the size of the rooms, I was a bit concerned. I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up in a room with a single king bed, and while not huge, there was plenty or room to move around, even with a nice size desk. Bathroom was small, but manageable. Location was great, I was able to take a walk over to Rodeo Drive in the morning and wonder around with the rich and want to be famous. Price was fair, much cheaper than the hotel for the conference I was at. Overall, I would book this again.

The room was tiny but comfortable enough. The bathroom was a bit strange (had a see through window to the main room, creating a privacy issue) but the decor was charming, especially in the bar downstairs. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the location was great. I would stay there again.

The service was great, the location was top notch. However, there were just a few odd things about our room that made me never want to stay here again. First, it's tiny, and when I say tiny - I mean that we were two people with two normal sized suitcases and had to seriously strategize where they would even fit. The closet doesn't allow room for dresses to hang as they managed to shove a mini bar into the bottom of it. Secondly, the windows situation in the bathroom really made no sense. It's completely visible to the outside parking lot and there's 0 privacy unless you completely shut it. Also, we left it open a few times when we left just to get some fresh air in the room and realized that there aren't even screens to keep bugs/birds etc out... it's just weird not to have those common updates. Pluses include the decor, it was really well decorated (disclaimer: I'm a big Kelly Wearstler fan) and while I admired it, a few times I thought ot myself "well, she did the best she could with what she had I guess." Also, the location is fantastic if you're looking to have easy access to the Beverly Hills strip of fun (think designer desserts galore).

This hotel is sexy and chic but the space is limited. The room (cheapest one, I believe Parisian) did not fit much more than the King bed, and the bathroom was also cramped. The detailing and design were beautiful, though the parking lot view left a bit to be desired. Architecture & design/fixtures were fantastic, but not a place to stay if you need much space. Service was good - plan on spending $28 for parking since you cannot park in Beverly Hills overnight.

Overall, this is a pleasant hotel in a desirable area at a reasonable price. It is boutique Euro-style, with smaller rooms and older fixtures, so if you are accustomed to that type of property you will find this place agreeable. It would not be a good choice for guests who prefer modern, spacious, and luxurious accommodations. It is a good value though: satisfactorily clean and in a good location. Note that parking is an extra fee, which is customary, but so is the breakfast, which is typically complimentary at other comparable hotels. The amenities are not great here, but the staff is friendly. If you are on a budget, this hotel is a great way to feel a little bit fancy without breaking the bank (just don't eat or park here, or take toiletries home with you, because they apparently charge for that too).

They imply it is next to Rodeo Drive. Surprise, it's .7 miles away. This is an old building converted to a Hotel with window air conditioners (yes that's right, the old fashion kind) that rattle and annoy. The facility has charm and history, it was a rooming house for struggling actors in the 1930's that was owned by Lillian Gish. Unfortunately it smells like its age. It is quaint and the staff are friendly. Not worth the price though.E

The hotel was a charming place and very convenient for where I needed to go- less than one mile from Century City. My room was clean and cozy. The only thing unexpected and a little disappointing is that there was no coffee maker in the room so I could not make any hot tea or coffee.

I checked in on Monday afternoon. To be honest, the front desk wasn't kind of cold.. well fine.. Maybe she was tired or not in a good mood. But when I checked out on Tuesday morning, that front desk girl was busy and very warm. It made up a little on the hotel impression... The place is delicate and cute. Bed is more comfortable than I read online. But the sound isolation is very bad. I stayed on the second floor; I could totally hear the sound from upper level. AC is loud too.

The continental breakfast is overpriced - pastries are dried out. Tea and Orange Juice nwere good. Room clock was not working when I arrived - two calls to desk over a two plus hour timeframe to get replacement. Called for allergy free pillows, told they would be sent right up. two hours later - no pillows. Called again to be told they didn't have any left. Ordered room service, steak well-done, it arrived bloody / rare, had to send it back. Chips in porcelain bathtub. Asked for assistance in steaming a suit out for business meeting - was told they would do it, then said they don't do that. Not impressed with the running of this hotel.

Needed a good rest before an interview. I was given one of the front rooms next to the elevator and could feel the vibration and hear the noise. I made a call, and within 30 seconds I was on my way to a muuuch quieter room in the back. Bathrooms weren't big, but I don't like spending too much time in a bathroom anyway, so that wasn't a negative for me. The AC was on the louder side of things, but I dropped the temp drastically in the room, turned off the AC and jumped into bed. Beds were warm and comfortable, slightly on the soft side for me, but you can't please everyone's preferences. This is a solid 4.0 hotel that gives you the convenience of location, in a quiet surrounding neighborhood, without having to gouge your pocket. I think they've got a great thing going here, and to make it a 5.0 would just price this out of many traveler's budgets.

We enjoyed our stay immensely! From checking in early to having our bags held several hours beyond check-out, it was wonderful. A short walk to Rodeo Drive and all things "Beverly Hills". The price of the Super Shuttle from LAX is not much less than a private taxi, which we took from the hotel back to the airport. Go for the taxi if you do not rent a car!

It was a small but quiet room, with silk-finish red wallpaper and a king-size bed that crowded everything else. Even queen-size would have been too much for that room. There was a peek-a-boo window between the bathroom and the bedroom, frosted on just the lower half. Aside from the lack of privacy, it made it impossible to turn on the bathroom light during the night without lighting up the bed. What were they thinking? The shower was tiled in marble, but so small that I couldn't bend down to wash my feet. I couldn't get my knees under the desk because the center drawer was too deep, and the crowning blow was the mattress: totally shot! It sagged so much that I could never find a comfortable sleeping position. I'm sure there are some lovely rooms in this hotel, but ours wasn't one of them. I should also mention the parking: it was convenient, but breathtakingly expensive, up there with Manhattan garages.

The young and energetic staff at Maison 140 is both personable and efficient! A very sincere THANK YOU to Jimmy on the desk, Hope Ann at the Bar Noir, Monique - making all appointments and reservations without a hitch! This hotel is located in a quiet, walking around neighborhood CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!! The generous continental breakfast delivered to our room every morning was plentiful, healthy and scrumptous!

This is a boutique hotel in a great location. The rooms are extremely small and the workout room is sub-par. Good for an overnight stay but less editable for an extended stay. Parking is $28 and really should be included.
