The staff were extremely helpful and the building is beautiful. It is a bit of a walk to the main shopping area, but it is on the free tram line.

A well deserved girls long weekend away was made so much nicer by the warm friendly reception we received even though we arrived after 10pm. Perfect place for a weeks stay while seeing family and friends over the holidays. The Circle Tram and Shuttle Bus - both free services were brilliant for any tourist to get to many destinations. The Acquarium was fascinating - especially with the wee penguins nesting. They were happy to help with any queries we had like where to go for dinner and brought the luggage trolley to help us with our bag when we were leaving. The hotel lives up to its name, making you feel somewhat 'royal'. Large hallways with high ceilings welcome you to your room. Would not recommend for families or couples sharing! Also, very steep staircase up to the bedrooms. VERY long corridor to our room,at rear of hotel, & only 1 exit/ entry at front of hotel - so quite a walk back if you forget your umbrella!! One of the days our room was not cleaned & had to ask for clean towels. Also, the folder with hotel/ local information not in room & when enquired said they would send up - never saw it & we stayed 6 nights. Kitchenette handy if you want to eat in. Big fridge/ coffee machine but only a couple of pods. If you like a dark room then the curtains certainly provide that, but when opened, lights up both upstairs bedrooms because of the mezzanine set up - which was an issue for us - I was up early for conference & daughter wanting to sleep in as a break for her. Although our rate included breakfast, we could only have one juice and one coffee/tea for each couple!! We were also charged for drinks from our mini-bar which we did not use. This amount has since beeh reimbursed.

We were first given a quite dark room that was a bit worn-down. We asked for a different room and was then given a very nice room with newly refurbished kitchenette and bathroom. When we wanted to go in the jacuzzi there was a large party in the area, in spite of the no bottle rule in the area. Not very relaxing to go to the spa then. However, when we told the staff at the reception they took care of it immediately.
