Rooms are small but the excellent staff make up for the room size. Also my room was noisy and as I work in my room on emails I found this very frustrating. Also restaurant closed on Sunday night and in the middle of winter not great as no room service.

Lobby and restaurant looks and is very nice. But the rooms are old and not comfortable. If you're not spending much time in the hotel its great, but if you look for more in a hotel it is lacking some comfort. Again location is really good and it has wifi and tv etc - just not super quality of the room overall.

The room was terribly small and dark. The bathroom was tiny, with no real division between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. when we checked in, the room wasn't ready. there was a persistent leak in our bathroom the entire course of our stay which we discussed with the hotel multiple times (nothing was ever done despite many empty promises). We also had a bike stolen from right outside the hotel and the hotel offered no condolences or assistance contacting the proper authorities. […] Switched to a neighboring hotel later in our trip and the difference was astounding for the same price. The small room was stuffed with ugly and down trodden fiurniture. I banged my head twice on an angled cross beam while trying to avoid an over sized "mini" fridge that took up way too much of what floor space existed. The room needed an extreme makeover and, at most, a double bed, not a king. However, great staff and location.

Hotel has character and is well located. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are cramped and uncomfortable, even for European hotels. The furniture is getting worn. the staff is very pleasant and helpful.

Would have rated this 5 overall except for the noise coming from the street. The location is great and the staff is wonderful. We had a room, probably coveted by most, that faced the harbor. Great views, but the noise coming up from the revelers below on the wharf, kept us awake well past 2:00 am.

This is a wonderful hotel just close enough to busy Nyhavn. the executive suite was neat, vlean and had a great view of the harbor. The hotel staff, especially Bjorn, were warm, frindly and very helpful. We highly recommend booking a nice room in this fabulous hotel!

Great location for downtown Denmark. Many cafes and things to see nearby. Canal is a popular tourist spot so people watching from cafes a plus. Delux room price high considering small window and average view of canal. Room size small but acceptable. Bathroom and shower tiny. Similar to a travel trailer all-in-one bathroom. Restaurant prices expensive. […] Better value at street cafes. Banquet staff rented out basement restaurant to rock band our last night there. We were on first floor. Had to change rooms. Small but clean. View was limited. Centrally located, close to great outdoor dining. Bus tour one block away. Found the streets littered with cigarette butts, quite disappointing. Canals were clean. Overall, the people were very friendly, no problem with language.

I travel to Copenhagen several times a year and love staying at this hotel due to it's location at the end of Nyhavn. It's not modern, but the shower at least has doors...more than I can say for some of the "modern" hotels in Denmark. The breakfast is good and the staff is very friendly and accomodating.

Overall, for a short stay, I thought this hotel was great. The location truly cannot be beat and it's a cool space in a renovated spice warehouse. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom is pretty funky (read: quasi-nautical themed room somehow makes a boat bathroom where the shower sprays the entire room and you're given a squeegie for the floor). […] That said, it was very clean. It has become apparent that the hotels always allocate their worst room to customers booking through hotels.com. This is a huge concern going forward. The room allocated at Nyhavn 71 was 2.5 by 4.5 metres and the bath room 1.5 by 1.5 metres. This is hardly 4 star accomodation !!! Nyhavn 71 is in one of the most tourist friendly areas of Copenhagen -- Nyhavn - but the small rooms and old, unrenovated bathrooms do not merit the high prices charged. My wife and I went to Copenhagen on a weekend trip based on the photos of the rooms and our knowledge of the neighborhood. We paid a high weekend rate for a superior room. However, […] the bathroom was a "wet bathroom", meaning the shower runs directly onto the floor, which has a drain near the toilet and sink. The size of the bathroom was that of a closet. And, the bathroom fixtures looked old, as if they had not been renovated in ten years. I wish we had been able to get rooms at the Admiral or the Phoenix or even the Neptune, a couple of other hotels in the neighborhood with more recent renovations and larger rooms. Besides having to wait to get a room (I arrived at 9 am and did not get a room until 2 pm), everything else was great. Breakfast was so-so and for $28, I could have gotten a better deal outside. The location is perfect and you can walk almost anywhere from the hotel.

It's hard to describe how crappy our room was in an otherwise charming old hotel. The service was courteous and the bar and restaurant quite fine, but our room was horrible. Barely space for two people to maneuver and each piece of furniture and each fixture had something seriously wrong with it: The end table was too wobbly to hold the electric fan […] which was too small to cool the room and too big to sit on any other surface near to window; there was only ONE electrical outlet (try charging 2 cell phones, two cameras, a laptop and also trying to read. The only chair in the room was upholstered and had a stain on the seat that made one wonder about the origin... and the toilet seat was not connected to the toilet! Not to mention that this is one of those bathrooms where the shower and the toilet are really the same thing. A depressing place. Stay away--all its other charms are erased by crappy rooms. This location of this hotel is superb!! The hotel is also very different with the low ceilings and wooden beams in the rooms, very nice!! The only disappointment was the bed, or should I say beds. This hotel has two sections old and new. We stayed one night in each. We wanted a room with a view and opted for the old section which is housed in the historic warehouse. Only problem is that these rooms have no air conditioning. It was an exceptionally hot week and we requested a room with A/C for the second night. The staff accomodated our request […] and transferred all our belongings from one room to the other while we went sightseeing. Rooms in the newer section are a little bigger. As we were nearing the hotel our taxi driver told us we had chosen one of the best hotels in Copenhagen. For the money, the driver was exactly right. Although the carpets in the public areas were a bit worn, we really couldn't find many negatives here. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. The staff service could not have been better. And […] then there is the location! You are within walking distance of nearly everything in downtown Copenhagen and the canal is both beautiful and hopping. Big tip....if you want to eat indoors at one of the hotel restaurants, make a reservation early in the day. Without one you won't get in. And the outside seating is first come, first served. Be warned that people tend to stake out their table and keep it all evening. One other thing. After your evening of fun and a good night's sleep, don't miss the breakfast in the hotel. Fairly reasonable by European standards for a full breakfast buffet and the food is of excellent quality. Stay here! The price is right and you will have loads of fun. Read more

71 Nyhavn is ideally located for anyone who wants to really get into Copenhagen. Located at the end of the Nyhaven canal, it gives a picturesque view of "old" Copenhagen, access to plenty of restaurants, and a short walk to the main shopping areas. The rooms in the old (historic) section of the hotel are not up to par. The smallest rooms have TINY bathrooms which while charming are not really useable.
