First of all, I want to mention that I knew I was coming to a cheap hotel. That's what I expected, and that's what I found. I won't give the hotel a higher rating just because I knew that going in, though. The first night I was there, one of the staff members told me that a woman was found naked in one of the hotel rooms with no recollection of coming […] there. The next day, I found a roach on the bathroom counter. The night after that there were a group of people talking loudly and smoking immediately outside of my hotel room at 2am. When I called the front office to ask them to take care of it, the people outside of my door exclaimed, "There you are!" in recognition, which leads me to believe that they were a staff member's friends. They left, but it was still a little ridiculous. The morning I checked out, I arrived at the desk at 8:10 and was told that the shuttle only left every hour, on the hour. Not only had no one TOLD me this (I called when I arrived at the airport to be picked up by the shuttle, and neither the driver nor the front desk told me this), but the shuttle was still sitting outside. Despite the fact that there would have been plenty of time for the driver to take me to the airport, I was forced to take the light rail to the airport. The only good thing I have to say about the experience was that the pool was well take care of and the convenience of the mini fridge and microwave was a nice comfort. Read more

The room was obnoxiously loud and the bed was very uncomfortable. I booked here because it was cheap and right next to the lightrail. Even for just a place to sleep at night it left much to be desired.

Reserved a King non-smoking room. Upon check-in was imformed that there were no King non-smoking rooms available. Was offered a Queen with very little apology or refund. Room was drab, dirty and still smelled of smoke. Air conditioner barely worked. Stayed only because we were out all day and needed only a bed to sleep on. Stayed for spring training. PROS: Good price, central location, convenient to light rail, restaurants, groceries, fridge/microwave, pool. CONS: customer service, old beat-up rooms, not a "tourist" neighborhood, dirty grounds. The check in was easy. The room was clean, it needs to be updated and have some repairs done though The room did have a coffee maker and blow dryer. The location next to the light rail made it a great choice for us to be able to make it to the St Patricks Day party on Mill Ave.

Front Desk clerk at check-in was not particularly friendly. The room is badly in need of new carpeting. I was less than satisfied with the hotel and its condition. Non smoking rooms had the distinctive odor of cigarettes and smoke. Maintenance issues could be seen in my room and others. I would not book this motel again.

This hotel was only ok. Not at all worth what we paid. The bed was the worst bed he or I had ever slept on. We'd originally contemplated staying an extra day because we were enjoying the city so much but the bed was the deciding factor to leave. As well as the man and woman that got into a fight in the parking lot that took place around 3am. We didn't feel unsafe just irritated by all the noise. Oh and be advised, there is a light rail stop right in front of this hotel, that will wake you up in the middle of the night by arriving and departing trains. Terrible! They didn't have the room we reserved (2 beds) so 3 adults were sharing a King. They didn't clean our room. And they acted as if these were problems caused by us. No customer service, worn out furnishings and fixtures. Decent location for visiting ASU.

I booked this hotel based on proximity to a marathon start, so I was not expecting four star quality, just a clean room to get a good nights sleep. However, this was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in, ever. I booked a non-smoking room and they put me in a smoking room. Since the hotel was booked , they could not change my room. The room did not […] smell just faintly of cigarette smoke, but was so strong it made me physically sick. I even thought about sleeping with the door open, but the neighborhood was not that nice. Only one light worked in the room, the TV remote did not work and the coffee maker was broken and disgusting. The shower had intermittent hot water and the AC did not cool the room. The exterior was littered with cigarette butts and trash. The only positive is that there is a rail stop right out in front of the hotel which was very convienient. Read more

This place is perfect for my friends and i to attend a baseball or motocross event at Chase then hit Mill Ave after. There is a light rail stop 50 ft from the hotel that takes you downtown and back with a stop at Mill.

we booked the room as a last resort because all the hotels we wanted to stay in originally were booked due to the ironman marathon. We specifically asked for a non-smoking room as none of us are smokers...when we got in there were 2 ashtrays on the table and smell overwhelmed us. We decided it wasn't that big of a deal and continued unpacking. A few […] minutes later we noticed that one of the beds was soaking wet, we realized there was a pretty bad leak in the ceiling of the hotel and even it was soggy and falling apart. ..we immediately called the front desk and explained the situation. she didn't seem to care at all, no apology for the inconvenience or anything. all she said was come to the office we'll get you another room. I went down to give her the key to the room and she was on the phone, she simply slid the key over to me, didn't tell us where our new room was or anything. we find the second room and that room smelled even worse than the last one!! but thankfully, the beds were dry! it looked like there was blood on the ceiling and the bathroom was disgusting. looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Room was just as advertised, nothing fancy, not new, nor clean enough to eat off the floor, but OK for the price. My only complaint was that I reserved a non-smoking room and had to stay in a smoking room. This apparently is often true of reservations made through hotels.com.

I reserved a non-smoking room. When I arrived the hotel was full and I was informed that because I reserved through Hotels.com they couldn't promise to fulfill this. Obviously, if I had known that they couldn't provide a non-smoking room, I wouldn't have stayed there. The layout of the room made it so that the air conditioner literally blew right at me the entire night! There was nowhere to control the direction of the air only one way which was right at me.
