The usual sports-bar trappings are here—football memorabilia and numerous flat-screen TVs tuned to ESPN—but Ditka's has a classy feel. Its dark woods, leather booths, and white-linen tables complement the menu of upscale fare and an extensive wine list. Upstairs, there is a table reserved for Iron Mike himself, who dines here several times a week. The restaurant is open daily. Dinner reservations recommended.

"Not for the faint of heart...."
Overall, the Tremont was more of a hostel than a hotel. Given the low price, my husband and I weren't expecting a five star experience, but we were expecting something much nicer than what we got given the area. Hotel itself is VERY dated (wallpaper was bubbling and peeling, grout crumbling, thermostat didn't seem to work, room was very dark) and the […] desk staff were somewhat uninterested. Their website says they have room service, but you have to order from Ditka's next door and pick it up at the front desk. Towels were very rough and only two (one "fresh" one with a stray hair tangled in the weave). Unless you need a room super cheap, pass this one by!! Read more
"Potential, but not there yet"
First the good: terrific location and love the bed. Now the bad: Seriously dilapidated. My room had peeling paint, broken tiles and black smudges on the walls. The elevator had gashes in the wood. Extremely basic cable with only 20 channels and a tv that changed channels more slowly than I can ever remember in any other set. There was no outlet for […] my computer anywhere near the desk. I've decided to spend the extra money and check in to the Sofitel, which I love. The sad thing is there is so much potential here. With a facelift it could turn into charming boutique hotel. Left a message with housekeeeping including a sign inthe room that the shower would not drain, and just filled up until almost overflowing. Gave up after repeated trys to get it fixed. Location, and friendliness of staff though was excellent! Would still stay there again, and have in the past.
"Okay"
It was average, but not something that I feel was really worth what I paid to stay AND park there...
"great location, a bit worn out"
room was clean and nice, easy check in late at night, excellent location. but.... room was cold and heater did not work, poor lighting in shower and toilet but good at mirror. decor was nice but a little worn out - maintenance necessary on wall paper.

"bed had dirty linen-very disappointed"
My stay at the tremont was veru disappointing because the bed linen starting with the bedspead/blanket and pillows had look like food stains on them and the pillow cases had someone elses hair on them. When I pulled back the blanket the sheets looked like they had been slept on!!!!! So I was afraid to sleep in this infested looking bed. I reported it […] to the front desk and they said we will see that you get more linen, but the cleaning of room will take place in the early morning, not this evening. I very disappointed with this hotels lack of cleanliness for thier guest!!!!!! Read more
"small rooms"
The only complaint that we had was about the rooms. The rooms were nicely updated, but they were very small. They also needed a little maintenance. The paint was peeling off the walls.
"Ohio Visitors"
Well if you enjoy peeling paint and a stinky room this is the place for you. We only stayed 1 night instead of the 2 nights we planned on. We didn't sleep hardly at all because of the noisy elevator and the sound of saloon doors slamming against each other at 3am and then again at 6am. Staff wasn't helpful at all we unloaded our bags ourselves and with […] the help of a few other guests we rolled cart into the small elevator and unpacked them ourselves. Great location but they need to update the rooms and customer service is lacking in a big way. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again ! For what we paid I would have thought it would have been much nicer. Read more
"Quaint & cozy room- great value!"
Loved the old-time charm. Great "suite" room looking over the street. Felt "homey". I had a fantastic night of sleep in the cozy bed. Dinner was great at the attached restaurant. Great to have a Starbucks directly across the street!
"You must stay here!"
I cannot understand why any one would have a negative review of this hotel! First of all, you cannot beat the location. The hotel is situated a block from Michigan Ave and a block from Rush Street. It is also conveniently located a block from the Hancock Tower and the Water Tower Mall. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms have […] heat lamps to keep you warm after a shower. The beds are extremely comfortable. Plus, it has a nice "old-timey" feel to it, unlike bigger cookie-cutter hotel chains. The lobby is cozy, equipped with comfortable couches and a cozy fireplace. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I will return to this hotel everytime I am in Chicago. Read more

"Tremont Hotel"
We love the older Chicago Hotels. The Tremont is charming, comfortable and in a perfect location.
"Good Location -"
Greated very nicely and the location was all that we could expect especially the Dickta restraunt & bar . The staff was polite and the breakfast price and food was more than adequate . The room was OK but the lack of linen change and cleaning was not performed . The reason was not clear but the staff did offer some incentives but my wife and I felt […] it was not adequate for the lack of room service ! We understand some improvement are planed which shoud help in the long run . Read more
"Tremont"
Hotel was a good location but that's the only positive. The rooms were tiny, dirty, and very old. Would not recommend staying in this hotel. Plenty other options in area for the same price.

"Convenient location for Mag Mile shopping"
We stayed at theTremont for a quick weekend shopping trip. Location is great - just 1 - 2 blocks from Bloomingdales and Water Tower, and a short walk to Nordstrom. Rooms are small and furniture shows it''s age, but very clean and bathrooms seem more recently updated. It was quiet and beds were comfortable! There is a lovely seating area with fireplace […] in the lobby. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Don't miss Francesa's on Chestnut for great Italian food. Read more
"Tremont Hotel Chicago"
The hotel was dirty and lacked even the basic facilities, staff were unhelpful and ignorant to any request. Room didnt get serviced during my stay at all. To top it off i will billed for three rooms when i only booked one ! i had to deal with this as the Hotel would not assist at all... Overall this is a disgracefull hotel with poor staff and should […] be avoided at all cost. Read more
"Tremont Hotel, Mag. Mile, Chicago"
Our stay at the Tremont Jan. 20-22 was quite enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and accomodating, the location is just perfect and, while the "king" room was smaller than we are used to, the fact is the management is in the process of upgrading each room. Furthermore, the Hotels.com weekend bargain for two nights, ALL taxes included, can't be beat […] for any "Gold Coast" hotel in this area of Downton Chicago. We definitely recommend the Tremont for these any many other reasons, and we'll consider staying there again soon. Read more

"Hotel Tremont - Chicago, IL"
Excellent in every way. I look forward to staying there again this year.
"Tremont Hotel in Chicago on Chestnut"
The Tremont Hotel is at a great location but it is a little outdated. There was not a vending machine in the hotel to get a coke or snack. The shower drained very slow and the toilet was extremely low to the floor. We were there on a very cold night and there was ice on the inside of the windows. It needs an update - very bad. The location was great. […] Convenient to the Magnificent Mile (Water Tower Place) and right off of Rush Street for the those interested in the bar scene. It is attached to Ditka's which the food there was very good. Spent the night after a hockey game, all in all a very good time. Read more

"Tremont Hotel in Chicago"
Just off Michigan Ave. and close to Water Tower Place. Very convenient for shopping and restaurants. Hotel is older and in need of some room renovation. However, the matress was comfy.
"Tremont Hotel in Chicago: Quaint cozy feel"
Quaint, cozy room Amazing location Very clean establishment
"Just fine for me"
Great hotel for the price and location. It is an old building, so don't expect perfection, but the staff was friendly and you really can't beat the location!
"tremont - location location location"
very friendly staff - older hotel - but clean.
Excellent location. Great value

"Treemont Hotel, Dowtown Chicago"
Location was excellent. Staff was helpful and corteous, but not impressive. The facilities were nice enough, but our room was super small, which was dissapointing. It still worked and frankly we were in our room a very limited amount of time nyways. That, combined with the fact that the bed was comfortable and the location was superb, make this a very […] attractive option for the price! My only real complaint was their elevator: only one single elevator that looks like something from a collection of curious artifacts from the 40's going at -5 miles per hour... ugh. Not good when on a hurry! That being said, I would recommend this hotel to you all. I'm just saying, if you are in dire need for a bathroom and your room is on the 10th floor, you've been warned. "Clean Hotel with Unbeatable Location"
This is an old hotel with an excellent location about one block from Watertower Place. Yes, the rooms are slightly worn but you'd have to be a real prima donna to be offended by it. Everything was clean and the staff was courteous. This is a great place to stay if you don't want to pay four-star prices.
"The Tremont Hotel"
I recently stayed at the Tremont Hotel, and was very disappointed. First of all, the staff was unfriendly when we checked in. Second the hotel only has one tiny elevator, which is extremely slow. Once we got to room, we walked into a wall of stench. the entire time the room smelled very musty and moldy. the paint and wallpaper was peeling off of the […] ceilings and walls. the bathroom was okay, but very, very small. Last but not least the walls were paper thin, slept very poorly, due to being able to hear every noise in the hallway and the extremely noisy elevator. Couldn't ask for a better location however, right off Michigan Ave, about 200 yards from the Water Tower. If you are looking for a very cheap hotel with good location, this is the spot for you. if you are interested in a comfortable, relaxing, clean hotel, I would recommend you look elsewhere. Read more
"great location"
I found that the hotel was in a great location to Michigan Ave. The hotel itself is old but comfortable and the price was very reasonable.
"The Tremont - location is about it"
While it looks promising from the outside, what's to come is quite disappointing. It has the appearance of an older hotel with charm; but by the time we got to our room, this quickly faded. The furniture looks to be the original and was actually nailed shut in places and missing wooden panels. There were few amenities, such as no coffee maker in the […] room. And while this wouldn't be a complete tragedy; when we asked for coffee in the lobby the next morning (granted, Christmas morning), we were informed that "the kitchen is closed." The staff seem to do their best with what they have, but even their charm doesn't compensate for what this hotel lacks. Great location being just a block off of Michigan Avenue... but do some shopping & I'm sure you can find even more bang for your buck nearby! Read more

"Tremont Hotel, Chicago, Il"
We stay at the Tremont Hotel every year in December. In fact this year our room was 407 and that now is our favorite room. We love this hotel and all the staff is very helpful. It is very difficult to want to stay in in other hotel when we go to Chicago.
"Tremont Hotel- Great hotel in a great location"
This hotel is situated extremely close to the Hancock Tower, Water Tower Place, and the Navy Pier. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is immensely helpful with left luggage, maps of the surrounding area and everything else that could be required. We strongly recommend this hotel to anyone in the Chicago area looking for an affordable and conveniently […] located place. Read more
