“Didn't get the room that was reserved and paid for.”Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I chose this hotel based on its proximity to SFO and the shuttle from the airport. The hotel staff was great and that's the only good thing I could think of. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, the hot tub is extremely tiny (max of 4 people) and the pool was overly chlorinated. They said they were doing construction, but aside from a few signs we […] saw, I couldn't tell what they were working on. We needed a place to stay before our early flight out of SFO and it served that purpose just fine. I'll look into other options for future travel to the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient for SF Intl. Airport"
I booked this hotel because I needed to stay near the airport to pick up my family the next day. It is right off the 101 and minutes from the airport. The facility is nice, has all the amenities and had friendly staff. There is a parking fee though. All in all a very nice hotel, with an on-site restaurant, pool, gym, etc.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel."
Our room was small since we asked for an extra rolling bed but everything else was good. We left satisfied.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One of the nice hotel close to the airport"
The good experience was having a few drinks at your bar. The bad experience was unable to swim one evening due to too many children playing in the pools & adults filled up the jacuzzi.Genuine Expedia guest review
all was great... it was a bit loud, but the hum of the climate control drowned out the traffic noice and allowed me to sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK for overnight stays"
I had a 20 hour layover at SFO, so I needed a place to stay for the night. I chose the Crowne Plaza because of its close proximity to the airport. For overnight stays, this hotel is fine. My room was clean and comfortable, the hotel staff was courteous and efficient. However, I would not recommended this hotel for longer stays because it's located next […] to Highway 101. I knew the room would be noisy when I saw the earplugs placed on the desk by hotel staff. I left the AC fan on all night to drown out the freeway noise. This hotel would be fine for business travelers, not so good for vacationers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Across the board, the staff was exceptionally kind and attentive. Great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Got the job done"
Decent hotel. Expensive for what it was. Room was small for a "deluxe suite", an AC struggled to keep the room cool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"They charge for parking"
Didn't know that they charge $18 for parking. The room was warm when 1st entered. I should request to turn on the AC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room right next to 101 ?"
Not a place to rest. If you like to stay up all night, then the trafficker noise will definitely help!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to SFO"
Enjoyed my stay, and really appreciated the easy shuttle service to and from SFO. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay at Crowne Plaza Hotel SFO!!!"
service was excellent all the way around!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel and staff were nice. It was a little further from the airport than we anticipated. The cab ride was $17. The shuttle was free, but my co-worker waited 30 minutes for the shuttle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms too small, 2 fullsize beds"
Very clean and Hotel staff great, especially Cecilia. Only problem was that the room was quite small. 2 fullsize beds. Our room had a view of the roof and the Window Washer's balance board.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you HAVE to stay near SFO"
Upon arrival, there was little parking to make for a convenient check-in. Front desk was . . . almost warm and friendly. My room was on the 8th floor - sounds good! 8th floor, end of the building - ehhh. The room itself - ceiling obviously had been damaged by water, and scraped for now. Looked nasty! No one should have to stay in a room that looked […] so damaged!!! (even at discount rates!) And gross!!! The bed was horrible!! It creaked, squeaked, sounded unstable, and plastic. You could hear the springs every time you made the slightest move. Linens - SO awful!!!! The "comforter" sounded like it was wrapped in plastic, or maybe it was plastic. It was NOT soft, warm, comforting, did not mold to body contours, or even smell nice. The bathroom was odd. A very standard, wall mount sink with NO place to easily put accessories. There was a separate vanity off to the side as a nice try to make up for the lack of any counter space - but too far removed from the sink area. The tub had 4 handicapped bars in place but one was placed so that anyone who wanted to take a relaxing bath had to dodge one of the bars placed too close to where your head should be able to rest when laying back. Was this a 4 star hotel???? really???? There is NO WAY I would recommend or stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I stayed one night before a conference and found my room to be quiet, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the ice machine on my floor didn't work. I needed to ice my knee and had to go to another floor to get ice. A very kind hotel worker I spoke to let me know she would help me if I needed anything during the night. Otherwise, the stay […] was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Guest rooms need an update"
Not the worst but definitely not the best. Rooms are in need of an update and modernization. The sheets are also kind of scratchy. Super nice and helpful staff though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very disappointing stay."
The airport shuttle was 20 minutes late. Pickup time was supposed to be at 10:13 pm. The shuttle arrived at 10:35 pm. I arrived at the hotel at 10:48. When I inquired about getting a bite to eat. I was told that the restaurant closed and room service ended at 11 pm. I had to push the front desk attendant to take me to the restaurant to get something […] to eat. When I got there with suitcase in tow. I was told that I could not get anything from the kitchen. I asked for a chicken caesar salad and was told that it was an appetizer and not available. I ordered 2 so that it would not be an appetizer. I asked if I could go to my room to put my suitcase away and come back and eat at the bar. I came back to the bar and was told that I had 5 minutes to eat. I requested a drink and was told all that was available was beer. I wolfed down my salad and beer and was pushed out of the restaurant. This was a horrible experience! When I got back to the room, the room was freezing! The thermostat was broken and I could not calibrate it so the room was comfortable. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. It took a long time for the water to heat up in the shower. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were too soft. The noise level was high. I could hear the sound of the traffic going by the hotel. I had an early plane out and only got 3 broken hours of sleep. The room decor was very run down and not inviting at all. This room was not worth the price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"It was fine..."
It was fine for what we needed...this was a quick stay and we weren't in our room much...the room was tiny but clean. The bed was a bit hard and bouncy but it worked. The girls at the front desk were professionally brisk but in all honesty I wasn't there to make friends. All in all it was an ok place to stay and I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a great time ! Everything was good but our waiter was busy flirting with another waiter and getting our food took awhile .... Other than that everything was great :) hotel was clean , people were friendly n helpful .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Still a nice place to stay."
I have stayed in the hotel before. The only complaint that I have is the same one. I do not feel parking for customers should be $20.00 a day. It should be half price or cheaper for paying customers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to airport"
Friendly front desk, prompt airport transfer. Only complain is the room allocated is beside the elevators so I hear everything coming from the elevator shafts through the wall.Genuine Expedia guest review
My room was extremely loud from the freeway noise. I had to ask to be moved to a quieter room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms need more updating and Maintenance"
Rooms were old and small. While beds were in good condition, closet was very small, doors were cheap hollow-core, paint was chipped, and wall paper bland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient to airport and dinning"
Great hotel, large, close to some great restaurants , Maxes, and american grill plus many others. Easy access to freeway and close to car rental drop, off. Little noises with airplanes flying over but, not that bad. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay...but I'd choose alternate if in the area"
For the price paid, I'd have expected a larger room (one of the smallest I've ever had on an "executive-level" floor) and better soundproofing (so close to SFO.) I will say that room service was prompt and courteous, and the bed was comfortable. Again, though, if I were going to spend $250, I'd gamble it elsewhere rather than returning to this hote […] l. Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Maria, Thank you for taking your time to review your recent stay with us. We are pleased to hear that overall your stay was satisfactory. I do apologize that you had to wait a long time for our complimentary shuttle. Our shuttle does run on a set schedule, every 30 minutes. I’m not sure what the delay was when you were trying to take advantage of our shuttle. I will definitely follow up with us to see if there was any delays that day and what exactly happened. In any case, I’m truly sorry. For your next visit, if our shuttle is delayed for a long period of time, we'd be more than happy to set up a cab for you with the Crowne Plaza covering the charges. We hope you get the chance to come back to our hotel soon. With Warmth and Hospitality, Brendan Dixon-Beckett General Manager

"Close to airport"
Close to the airport, with free shuttle! But the noise of the airport is awfull, when a plane is crossing, the room shakes! Also ask for a room on the other side of their power radiator, its like you are IN a plane!Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Melanie, Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. We truly apologize for the noise problem you encountered during your stay with us. Here at the Crowne Plaza we strive to provide a comfortable stay for all our valued guests, and that includes a quiet night’s sleep. That’s why we’re happy to inform you that our hotel renovations are starting this May, and it includes replacing all the guest room windows. We hope you get the chance to come back to our hotel when the renovations are done so that we can make this up to you. With Warmth and Hospitality, Brendan Dixon-Beckett General Manager
"Hitch a ride to SF"
The room was fine, but was so close to the highway (101) you hear car and truck noise all night. I mean, the room and windows let all the sound in. The highway couldn't have been more than 50 yards away, counting the fact that we were on the 8th floor. It couldn't have been much noisier if we were trying to sleep on the shoulder of the highway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the city center...no free wifi in room"
The hotel really is at the best possible location for shopping. At Union Square, next to department stores as Macys and Neiman Marcus. I do find it annoying however, that in these days a large luxury hotel does not offer free wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Wifi was charged at around 15 USD per night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expect to pay eXtra for parking"
All was good except the fact that we had to pay an extra $18 for parkingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel...Amenities lacking..."
The hotel was VERY nice. It was very modern and fancy. The negatives were that the ice machine on our floor was not working so we had to go to other floors to get ice. Also, in the lobby there was no complimentary coffee/tea served, only water. Even cheap hotels offer lobby coffee/tea. There was no laundry facility which I feel would be appropriate […] so you can wash/dry your swimwear after using their pool. A complimentary breakfast would be nice also. The prices of breakfast at their restaurant were a bit high. My husband said that the lobby men's restroom was not very clean but I found the women's to be good. Also, when booking on Hotels.com it does not make you aware that there is an $18 per day parking fee, so heads up on that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Christine, Thank you for very kind words. I’m sorry to hear that the ice machines were not functioning properly during your stay. I can definitely see how much of an inconvenience it can be to have to go to a different floor to get ice. In terms of the bathroom conditions, I will follow up with this. I assure you that is not typical here at our hotel. We strive to provide every guest a clean and comfortable stay. We are happy to hear that everything else went smoothly, and you found our hotel to be very nice. We hope you get the chance to come back and stay with us again soon. With Warmth and Hospitality, Brendan Dixon-Beckett General Manager
it was fine except for the extra 18 dollar charge for parking! I have never heard of paying for parking on site of a hotel. That's ridiculous. I will not be staying another Crown Plaza ever again. Very disappointed that hotels.com did not inform me of the charge for parking. Not happy with either crown plaza or hotels.com.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Charlie, Thank you for staying with us. I’m sorry to hear that you were not aware of the parking charges here at our hotel. Unfortunately, in the SFO area, it is hard to find a hotel that does not charge a parking fee. If you ever get the chance to come back to the area you might be interested in our parking packages that can save you on the parking fees. Once again I do apologize for the surprise charge, I will contact hotels.com and make sure that the parking fees is clearly stated for all guests to see so that there is not any surprises to our future guests. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. And Thank you for your feedback. With Warmth and Hospitality, Brendan Dixon-Beckett General Manager

Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Traveler, I'm sorry to see that you did not have a satisfactory stay at our hotel. In terms of refrigerators in the rooms, we do have refrigerators available upon requests for no extra charge. If you get the chance to stay with us again, and find yourself needing a refrigerator, just notify the front desk and we'd be more than happy to provide one for you. I'm sorry we weren't able to inform you of this during your stay, however, we hope you get an opportunity to stay with us again and thank you for your feedback.

Response by Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport Dear Traveler, We are delighted to know that our front desk staff was able to provide such great customer service that it left an impression on you. I’m sorry to hear about the tiles around the shower not being spotless. Here at the Crowne Plaza, our goal is to ensure that our entire property is suitable for our guests. I will definitely follow up on the tiles myself and make sure that it meets our standards. Please let me know if you’re ever back in the area, as I would love the opportunity to make this up to you.
