This is the second time we have stayed at Cambria Pines Lodge. Everything is easy and the staff are wonderful. The food is also very good and they know the ingredients well to help my manage my food allergies. We brought our two labrador retrievers on the long weekend with us. The Cambria Pines Lodge was a great place to stay--the room was large, very clean, comfortable (but no air conditioning), the free wi-fi was appreciated, and the grounds are beautiful. We made use of the pool and loved having the private patio for relaxing with wine and a good book. The location is convenient to town and very quiet.

The grounds are lovely but the woodpeckers woke me up both mornings, like someone was banging on the side of the building! the shower was a trickle and the food was mediocre. Next time we will try someplace different. Cambria is beautiful so definitely worth returning.

Well worth the price! We went to a wedding here and it was fabulous! The atmosphere, the food and the nightlife all rocked!! Real close to Hearst Castle, elephant seals and Morrow Bay!

pros - close to Main St and beach, totally lovely garden grounds at hotel, sweet gray cats on the grounds, easy to find, big rooms; cons - LOUD floorboards for even the thinnest ppl who walk on them; paper-thin walls; look elsewhere for a better deal; free buffet brkfast - mediocre quality (as usual at most hotels); tiny parking spaces

Peaceful mountain retreat in the pines, yet only 1 mile down to the ocean. Shopping and wine tasting is only a short hike from the lodge, down a forest path. Some rooms are pet friendly, but you are best without pets if you want the better rooms with forest views and chances to see deer and other creatures near your cabin.

First time staying at Cambria Pines and was impressed with the room - family suite. Next time will ask for upper level, we were below and could here people above walking around in there room. Our room had a 2 fireplaces which was great. We will go back and stay again.

We were dissapointed there was no refrigerator in our room and after inquiring at the main desk was told that our room did not have one. No ice machines in our building. Had to go across the street and up the driveway to the main building to get ice. Also at check in, we were not told that we had to make reservation for dinner. We needed a large room/suite to fit our family of four. Cambria Pines Lodge had a perfectly sized room with one king bed for the parents, one foldout for our 16 yr old son and a Murphy bed for our 14 yr old daughter. Room was cozy with 2 fireplaces and a view of the woods and mountains. The lodge was rustic (in a good way) and the landscaping was phenomenal […] - you have to check out their gardens. The room was very large and attractive. Very nice setting, in the woods. The hot buffet breakfast was amazingly good -- quality, quantity, and variety all outstanding. The only drawback was the perfumed smell in the room -- we should have called ahead to request no scent but forgot. All in all, an excellent hotel.

Stayed on a weekend trip to Cambria. Room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and we didn't have any problems with noise from other guests walking through the halls. It's also not far from Main St. shopping and resturants.

The hotel is a few blocks off the main road, Hwy 1, but not too hard too find at night (check Google Map or use GPS). Staff was very friendly. Our two queen bed room was unavailable and they put us in a bigger "suite" room with a sofa bed. (On the other hand the sofa bed was not necessarily as good as a real queen bed). This was December and the room […] was REALLY chilly (?40, 45 degrees) and it took an hour to heat up via propane "fireplace" style heaters. We arrive early in the day and found the town of Cambria to be an interesting visit for the night. Cambria Pines is located on the hill above the main part of the town and though it’s close to Hwy 101 it was very secluded and quiet which was what were looking for. The room was furnished with a somewhat country feel,comfortable and clean. The day were stayed was cooler and we found the room very cold. The heating system was an older electric wall furnace which took some time in heating the room but once it warmed up was fine. The bathroom had below average fixtures needing some maintenance and the water to the faucet at the sink did not warn up for several minutes. We found that the negative things for us were outweighed by the convenience, quiet and friendly people who worked there. There was also a complimentary breakfast that was convenent. I love the lodge but I have to say the cleanliness of our room this visit was disappointing. I also had to call for more towels as there were only 2 towels and zero washcloths for our family of 3 people. My daughters feet turned black from walking barefoot in our carpeted room... gross!

The deluxe suite was great. Very quiet and comfortable. Our only problem was with the electronic entertainment -- it was poorly designed and didn't work properly -- very frustrating. However, everything else was very nice. Breakfast was complimentary and was the best I've ever had.

Excellent location. Rustic / lodge feel interior and very comfortable. We had the King Deluxe and it was enormous. Beautiful setting where we even saw a deer right outside of our balcony. Minutes from downtown Cambria and just a few miles from Hearst Castle. Unfortunately, no overhead fans. The room was mostly warm to hot and no circulating air. The heaters did blow some air but the bedroom cut out early. Lots of traffic even in the early morning hours.
