"Wine Country Getaway"
Not only was the room beautiful and absolutely well maintained, but the location was fantastic. We were an easy hike down (but tough hike up) to the main part of Cambria. The gardens were amazing and a great surprise. We spent some time in the bar/lounge area during the day and night and were not disappointed (live bands at night). I absolutely would […] stay there again. For the price, it is a great bargain! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great, cute hotel."
We got in late & were pleasantly surprised by our room. We had just driven over 700 miles from Eugene, OR & felt really comfortable with our room. Got a great nights sleep & had a nice free breakfast in the morning. There was live music in the bar the night we got in which was great to wind down after a long drive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Hearst Castle & Cambia is nice."
The lodge was conveniently located right off of Highway 1. Very pleasant surroundings with pine trees and their aroma. We used this as a stopping point to see Hearst Castle. Also, Cambia is a pleasant little town to walk around in the evening. Several very good restaurant choices. However, avoid buying gas here as it is very expensive. Lodge has a great […] little garden area and the breakfast was a very good hot and cold buffet, with hot items including scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
quiet neighborhood, but second floor room above was noisy. Nice breakfast and convenient bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only problem we had was that the key card would not work. This is the second time in a row we have stayed here and had this problem. The first time they ran us back and forth to registration three times and finally gave us a new suite because they couldn't get us a card that worked. This time we told them after the first try we were not running […] back and forth again and they sent a maintenance member who opened the door with his card and got us a new one. His comments made us believe this is becoming a common problem. Whether it is the card writer or a maintenance issue there needs to be some attention paid to this because it was frustrating (especially a second time). Other wise as always Cambria Pines does not disappoint. It was just what we needed, a relaxing weekend in beautiful surroundings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We liked the hotel. All was very good, even though downstairs some people might be bothered by the steps you here from upstairs.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is an OK Hotel in Cambria"
If you get a great price I think this hotel is ok. We booked last minute and got a great price. It is up in the hills and not close to the beach. If you want to stay close to the beach this is not the hotel for you.Genuine Expedia guest review
Awesome family vacation. close to all the local sights. really great hot breakfast included in rates. very homey, spacious rooms and lovely patios. Loved it and will come again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Another great stay"

"Last minute hotel stay on way home from Big Sur"
We were looking for a nice place to stay after cutting our camping trip short. The Lodge was perfect for what were looking for: swimming pool, free breakfast & free parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very relaxing stay"
We were sorry that we only had one night scheduled at this lodge. It was so relaxing and fit perfectly with the laid back lifestyle of Cambria. We will definitely stay there again if we ever visit San Simeon again.Genuine Expedia guest review
6 of us- all adults, from 26 to 65...plus our Airedale. Had a wonderful time...good food in the restaurant. Quiet room, great bed in the main bedroom. Will stay again if we want to make the LA-SF trip a 2 day one...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Stay Marred By the Noise"
We recently returned to stay for two nights at the Cambria Pines. It's a wonderfully natural setting and the rooms are clean & spacious suites. A hearty breakfast is included & the onsite facilities are very nice and well maintained. The biggest problem though is the severe noise issue if you have the downstairs level suites (the resort is a two stories). […] As the rooms are beginning to age and build out of wood the sound proofing is non-existent if someone is walking around or talking upstairs. Walking in particular makes you think roof is coming in. On the first night of our stay we were awoken early with what was obviously two kids chasing each other around screaming "You're a butt". "No, you're a bigger butt" etc. We complained to the front desk & they said they would call (it was ineffective & I doubt they did as we didn't hear the phone ring .....). It was with joy when we saw the family checking out later. The next night 3 young adults moved into the room above and lo & behold at 6am the next morning one of their cellphone alarms went off. It didn’t wake them though & rang for 15 minutes before it timed out. Just as we were getting back to sleep it started again. My daughter was in tears. Although this was a big problem it's still a wonderful resort otherwise. I did mention our problem at check out again & got a lukewarm apology from the front desk with a recommendation to get an upstairs room next time. I've written to customer service but have yet to receive a reply. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I brought my husband there for his birthday, both of us needing a relaxing weekend. It was all I hoped for: the ambience was charming & peaceful; the gardens were lovely to walk through; the staff was very friendly & helpful; & the room was CLEAN & well appointed. "Lovely for a romantic getaway"
Loved our spacious, very clean rooms with a large balcony overlooking pine-laden hills. It smelled like new pine needles and felt like we were very far from civilization. The breakfast in the main lodge was great, and we loved all the shops and restaurants in town. Very friendly people everywhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Such beautiful grounds!"
My husband and I just got back from Cambria last night and stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, I wish that I could have gardens that look like that. I felt like I was in the Secret Garden! The lounge was really nice and we stayed and watched a band play on Friday night and it was awesome. The breakfast buffet was […] good, way better than most continental breakfasts you get at hotels, and we were able to sit outside in one of the covered areas, which are beautiful! My only complaint is that the rooms are a little rough, the room we stayed in which I think was in the Windsong building had really thin walls, and the people above us were awake all night and it sounded like they were stomping around. Made it kind of hard to sleep. Maybe next time I'll just ask for a room in a different location, because I'd definately go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good Cambria Location"
Parking was convenient and the room was easy to find. The fireplace in the room was a great. Even in the summer it was cool enough at night to use. Room was clean. The TV & windows could use an update but both worked well enough. Overall I'd recommend and would come back for another stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Absolutely Magical Green Hotel"
I keep coming back to Cambria Lodge when I need to get away from big town noises. Rooms are super clean, spacious and private. Bigger rooms have fireplace in each room, and private balcony overlooking the forest. Cozy garden area for breakfast and super friendly stuff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very decent breakfast. Room was pretty standard motel fare. Carpets a fair bit past their prime and stained. Bathroom was ok but quite clean. Grounds are very nice and a pleasure to stroll. Just a mile or to beach and the cute part of town, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A gem nestled in the pines"
It was refreshing and homey. Friendly, professional staff...quiet guests. I especially liked that they had complimentary tooth brushes at the desk. I left mine at home and it was nice not to have to go out and look for a place to buy one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great location, close to Moro Bay loved it"
we loved staying at this hotel. we will go back and stay longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful area, Pine Trees and the Pacific Ocean ...could it get any better? Our dinners at the on-site restaurant were wonderful. All Cambria Pines Lodge staff personnel were better than most of the five-star hotels and resorts we’ve experienced …every person we met was genuinely friendly and eager to assist us, if needed. The grounds, gardens and […] overall atmosphere were perfectly manicured and exceedingly beautiful. The quaint village of Cambria is equal to; or surpasses the uniqueness of Carmel, CA …and there was no “grid-lock” like we experienced in the Carmel/Monterey areas. Our suite was excellent; living room (with fireplace), dinning area, master bedroom (also with fireplace and large balcony). The suite had tons of closet space, storage areas and everything was as beautiful and as manicured as the Lodge grounds. It’s a short drive to Morrow Bay, a lovely seaside town to visit. In short, our experience was excellent and we will most definitely return to Cambria Pines Lodge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Centrally located to village in Cambria, CA"
We enjoyed our stay and would probably return. The lodge was and older facility but clean and comfortable. The room rate was higher than we would normally pay. Since this was a special occasion for us, we felt it was worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked a two room suite for my husband and myself and our two friends. I was extremely disappointed to find out that there were NOT two bedrooms but one with two queen beds in it. It was extremely deceiving the way it was worded. So two married couples had to share the same room and we were not very thrilled. We paid a lot of money for a huge dis […] appointment. Good lodge resort with nice pool and hot tub... nothing extraordinary, but pretty good value for being close to Cambria beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If I had it to do over again..."
I would not pick this sprawling, glorified motel. Indifferent, impersonal service. Front desk attitude abrasive, robotic. Didn't honor original booking terms. Dining room was the only "good" experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We are a family of five people + 1 dog. Needless to say, expectations aren't high when reserving a dog friendly family suite. But, we were quite satisfied with the accommodations. They weren't perfect, but the pluses outweighed the minuses. I'd definitely recommend staying at the Cambria Pines Lodge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our room facilities were very nice."
The place was overbooked when we got there so there was a lot of stress. But we did get a room and they let us get into the dining hall late after waiting over one hour to check in. That was a positive.Genuine Expedia guest review
Vacation with kids. Nice food, bar. Live music. Great breakfast offset room cost. Maybe best place to stay in Cambria.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Expensive but good."
Pleasant rooms with fireplaces, lovely gardens, pool, dog exercise area and breakfast is included. We had 4 people in a room which could be divided. Second bed (already made up) was pulled down from wall. Adequate parkin for the many guests.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful Lodge Setting"
We had an excellent stay at the hotel. It was a most pleasant surprise to find that it is laid out as a lodge with large very comfortable rooms.. The over all facilities and services were excellent. I would highly recommend it to my friends and have raved about it to everyone that I have spoken to about our trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"LUXURIOUS CAMP-LIKE EXPERIENCE WITH ALL AMENTITIES"
WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL FOR THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE HEARST CASTLE WHICH WE VISITED THE NEXT MORNING. WE ALSO SELECTED THE HOTEL FOR THE WONDERFUL REVIEWS OF THE CAMP-LIKE ATMOSPHERE AND BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS. WE BOOKED A FAMILY SUITE WITH 2 FIREPLACES AND KING BED, MURPY BED AND PULL OUT COUCH THAT WORKED PERFECTLY FOR OUR FAMLY OF 5. VERY CLEAN AND SPACIOUS […] AND WE LOVED THE FIREPLACES. WE ALSO ENJOYED THE HEATED POOL AND HOT TUB AND COMPLIMENTARY COUNTRY STYLE BREAKFAST BUFFET. WE LOVED THE MEMORY FOAM KING BED AND LINENS AND THE PRIVATE BACK DECK BALCONY. WE WERE DISAPPOINTED TO ONLY BE THERE FOR ONE NGHT BUT ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR STAY. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cambria & Hearst Castle"
The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. However if you are a light sleeper, then this hotel might not work for you. Our first night there, the rooms on both sides of us were rented to couples with very LOUD voices who seemed to be arguing most of the night. The walls are not thick enough to protect you from other travelers' bad manners. […] The breakfast provided exceeded our expectations. Again, some of the other travelers (Tuesday morning) were ill-mannered, but the next day they seemed to have moved on and a far more genteel crowd was at breakfast. You can't pick your fellow travelers no matter where you stay, but the location, staff and breakfast were all great! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice hotel, pretty grounds and good food."
We stayed one night at this hotel (lodge) during our visit to Hearst Castle. The suite we stayed in was very nice with accommodations up to six people. Although I would recommend no more than 4 guests. The suite included one king size bed, one drop down bed and a sofa bed. Also included was a small kitchen. When the drop down bed was in the down position […] it became difficult to move around it. The table provided was very small to work on and half of the power outlets would not keep a cord plugged in. The dinner in the restaurant on site was outstanding. Breakfast which is 'free' was so-so. We were one of the first ones at breakfast and the food did not have an even temperature, some of it was cold. That was disappointing. The grounds of the lodge are pretty and we enjoyed walking around. The check in staff at the front desk was friendly but not forthcoming with information. We had a difficult time finding our lodging even with the map provided. The staff the next morning was far more helpful. Overall we enjoyed the lodge and would stay there again especially since we know our way around now. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice feel to the entire complex."
Very much liked the way the resort is situated in the pines up on a hill. The buildings are well maintained and the landscaping is pleasent. Definetly would stay there again if I were to visit Cambria. Great jumping off point for Hearst Castle and others tourist sites further north.Genuine Expedia guest review
