The Front Desk Clerk ( I cannot remember her name), was very kind and very friendly. She was able to get us checked in early and able to get all our rooms close together as we were traveling with family. We had a wonderful stay and the kids really enjoyed the pool. Our room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was nice too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"cardinal game weekend"
The service, cleanliness, quality, etc. was all very good. My only complaint was that there clearly is a hot tub in the picture on this website. It also lists that in the description of the hotel. But there is not hot tub and the managers said they havn't had one in two years! How many others are incorrect? Sounds like you need to update!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel the location was very convenient and easy to get to. the rooms were clean and in nice condition. We checked in late & the staff were very friendly with helping us check in late. The pool was the perfect size for my little boys to swim in and they had a blast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

we were so pleased with this particular hotel. I almost had given up on Fairfeld Inn's after my most recent stay, in another city. Staff was so pleasant, room was quiet, clean and in a very convenient location. Very pleased and will stay again when in the area for business or leisure. I traveled to the area for eye surgery appreciated the kindness of […] the staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very friendly staff"

Everything about the hotel was adequate. Fine air conditioning, relatively quiet (even being right on the main hallway intersection), comfortable bed, and a fridge. It's at a convenient location right off I-64, close to Scott Air Force Base, and within walking distance of several restaurants (Red Lobster, Applebees, etc.). The #12 bus goes right out front, and will take you to the metro station, where you can catch the train into downtown (use the stop across the street). There is also the Stonewolf golf course about a 5 minute drive to the north, which is supposed to be exceptional. There was always coffee in the lobby, plus hot water and tea, and the breakfasts were reasonable. What made this hotel better was the staff. They were very friendly, from the housekeeper to the front desk staff. They all seemed to really care about their job. It was refreshing. A note: I knocked a point of cleanliness as one of my towels had a peculiar stain on it (nothing gross, just like grease or something).
"It was adequate"

We stayed one night in August 2014 and had two rooms on the 2nd floor by the elevator. I wouldn't recommend staying by the elevator again, since people can talk LOUD as they are waiting for the elevator at all hours of the night. One of our rooms had an air conditioning unit that leaked water all night (you could hear it). We called the front desk to report it before bed time. A man came up and looked at it and basically said there was nothing he could do. We ended up placing towels underneath it and they were completely soaked by morning. The hotel is kind of close to the highway and I heard the traffic noise a few times in the night. The breakfast was good, but the seating area for the breakfast is small and our group of 7 had to eat in shifts. The pool was nice. Overall, the hotel was adequate, but I don't plan on returning.

We had a quick trip to the St. Louis area. It was mainly to visit friends in Illinois but to also go into St. Louis one day. This Fairfield is conveniently located so going into St. Louis was a breeze and visiting our friends in the area was equally easy. We had our dog with us and the fee for her worked out to be less than putting her in the kennel - besides we love having her with us.

Wow! What a great place to stay! From check in to check out, we were so pleased. The customer service is above and beyond! Scott and Janese were great! We were checked in quickly. We arrived around 11am, due to having plans through out the day, we wanted to go ahead and register, even though we knew our rooms wouldn't be ready. They offered to keep our bags for us until our rooms were ready. They also called us when our rooms were ready. Our rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The bed was so comfy and it was so quiet! The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. We loved the fresh baked cookies in the evenings. We asked them about good places to eat and they gave us the name of several area restaurants. They were right on! We had a great weekend and will be back soon!

From the front door that is difficult to pull open when you are struggling with a suitcase and rolling briefcase to a bathroom so tiny you can' turn around when the door is open. No closet - just a space with 6 hangers. Old carpet that was bunching up in front of the door. Only 2 dresser drawers and an AC they kept the curtains blowing open (on the ground floor this is a bad idea). Fitted sheets never stayed on the bed and the water pressure in the bathroom sink is on mega high. Knocked my cup out of my hand. The room had no refrigerator or microwave so forget about bringing your leftovers back. When I asked the desk they said they had one in storage they might find. By the next day I decided to move to a location which had everything I needed for the same price (109) and they brought in a refrigerator and microwave - Too little too late - sorry - I left.
"Top notch customer service!"

My family stayed here this weekend and from the moment we walked in the door the customer service we encountered was EXCELLENT!!!! I am rating this a very good Fairfield Inn and in fact, it was better than the last Courtyard we stayed at. The room and lobby was very clean even thought it appeared to be an older hotel, breakfast was sufficient and free. The rooms are very basic but it is what I expected from a Fairfield Inn (I don't mean anything against Fairfield Inns as we usually only stay at Marriott brand hotels, just mean we knew we were not booking a luxury hotel). I was bummed there wasn't a small gym on property but they did have a small indoor pool and they provided passes to the Planet Fitness which is super close to the property. We didn't have a mini frig in our room and didn't realize it until we were checking in with leftovers from dinner. The lady working that evening went above and beyond and took our food and put it in their refrigerator for us. We also inquired about if the gym offered any form of childcare of area for the children (as ours we belong to at home does), she took the time to call and check for us. Also, the ladies that worked the breakfast each morning were super pleasant, attentive and kept the food stocked. The location was perfect, close to shopping, food, the mall and just a short drive to the St. Louis Arch and downtown area.

This property is a mixed bag. Overall OK, just a few minor irritants that could be easily remedied with a little more attention to detail. Check in was great. Thomas is a first class staff member. Well spoken, pleasant, smiling and ruthlessly efficient. The room was clean but has a few issues. Carpet rolling up in the middle of the floor needs to be replaced. Shower/bath water pressure was too strong while bath sink water pressure was barely more than a trickle. And the ill fitting fitted sheet on our king size bed kept coming off at the corners near our pillows. A/C was great, free breakfast was crowded but quite good, especially the waffle maker. At almost $100 a night, this property can and should do a little better. Still, clean and well staffed are a big plus for budget chains, and the proximity to downtown St. Louis and Busch Stadium for baseball weekends is key. Would consider staying here again for less money.
"Fantastic Value And Location!"

This Hotel was awesome! It is just over the bridge from St. Louis and very easy to get to. It is located in the heart of the restaurant district which gives you many dining choices. The rooms and hotel in general were very clean and very well maintained. I will be bringing my wife back to the area in the near future and this will be our place to stay!
"Mix up on reservations"

We had a baseball game at a nearby field, and had originally booked for 2 nights. When our game schedule came out, we found that we would not need to stay the first night. I called the hotel and asked them to please cancel our Friday night reservation. I explained the situation, and she was friendly, and said she had taken care of the cancellation. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk explained that when I called several days prior that they had cancelled our second night instead of our first night. She went on to explain to me that they had charged my credit card for not showing up on the night before. I told her that we had cancelled our Friday night stay several days ago, and that our Saturday night stay should not have changed. She apologized and quickly booked our room. Luckily there were rooms available. She explained that it can take up to a week for our credit to be applied back in our account, which was very frustrating. They had my email on file, and I was a little concerned originally when i didn't receive an email with my reservation change. I guess I should have listened to that voice in my head that said call back and double check! I feel they should have offered us a discount for our trouble, but nothing was offered. The room itself was run down, but it did appear to be clean. I will not stay at this hotel again due to the frustration of this experience.
"Dirty, Rundown, Smelly"

This hotel is a great example of Marriott failing to protect their brand and a shining example of poor management. I booked three rooms in this hotel the third week of May 2014. The only pleasant experience was the guy "Thomas" who checked us in....a real pro when it came to whisking us through the process. I should have Immediately known from the dirty lobby, stained carpets, and funky odors......this was not the place to stay.....but we were tired...14 hours of driving and not in the mood to find another quality hotel. All three rooms were worn out and dirty. The carpets were filthy and the bathrooms looked like a child had smeared white caulk about to cover over mildewed chaulk. We also got short changed on towels. For $110 bucks....I really felt ripped off. I won't eat the morning's breakfast due to the overall poor sanitation of this property. For the money there are far better managed hotels. After this experience, I will no longer stay at this brand of hotel.
