The beds could have been a little more comfortable. I had a really hard time sleeping. Parking too could have been cheaper. Over all the hotels was really nice and clean and had a great pool area. I would stay there again.

We booked this hotel at the very last minute, after a nearby hotel checked us in to a room that was in an unacceptable condition, we left that hotel. We were able to find a good rate for an oceanview room on hotels dot com, and we were satisfied overall with the room. Other hotels in the immediate area offer free parking, and we missed the fact that […] there is a surcharge for parking, that was an unwelcome surprise, but one we could've avoided by reading the fine print. The location was very good on Kauai, about the same distance driving to the north shore and west shore if you are wanting to explore. Close to many restaurants, close to grocery stores, and a fairly short drive to the airport and largest city, Lihue. The room itself was a bit on the small side, with a cramped bathroom, but for two people it was OK. The 3rd floor oceanview room did have a large palm tree basically blocking much of the actual view of the ocean. The facility and room overall were very clean and well maintained. The service was good considering you are on Kauai, Lines at the front desk for service were common, we saw some irritated customers, but that is kind of how things go in Kauai, you really have to drop it down two gears here and let everything roll slowly by, because everything is just more laid back and relaxed, including the attitudes of people in service industries. Overall we were very satisfied. The property is beautiful and very peeaceful.Our only disappointment is the size of the veranda, balcony area. It's so small that two people cant sit outside the room and enjoy the beautiful views. ridiculously small!

The quality of service was good and the staffs were friendly. The room was clean. However, we consistently had to ask for more bath towels, bath soap and shampoo for four of us. One of our biggest disappointment was when we booked the room, it was supposed to be a Garden View. When we got there, their standard "Garden View" was facing the roof tops […] - laterally looking the roof top when you walk out to the balcony. We complained about the room. We were offered couple of available room choices, but both were with the roof top view - BEWARE! I think the Hotel needs to categorize three type of rooms. Rooms with Ocean View, Garden View, and Roof Top View. The only positive comment I have about the Hotel is it was in a good location with many convenient shops, Starbucks, Safeway, Subway, McDonald, etc. As for weather, we were there during the week of Feb. 18th, the wind were gusting at about 35-40 mph everyday. Beautiful place, absolutely gorgeous. Bed very comfortable and the stained hardwood in the room elegant and very tasteful. The bar and dining area were also superb and furnished very thoughtfully. The hotel is very quiet. The beach is less than desirable since it is not swimmable. The food prices in the restaurant are way too high as well as the beer in the Hotel store. The breakfast buffet is $19 per person!!! I have never seen a breakfast buffet for more than $10!

They offered for us to go to another Marriot hotel in Lihue, but it was going to be a pain to switch rooms on the second day of our vacation. The Courtyard is well situated on the east coast of the island, within easy driving distance of all the island's attractions. It is clean and well-maintained. The hotel's location along the ocean makes for a beautiful setting, although the beach is not swimmable due to rocky reefs. There is a nice pool area, and ample seating is provided including several […] adirondack and lounge chairs, as well as three hammocks. I also appreciated the free property-wide WiFi. The pool is not heated (in January this meant cold water) and I found the hot tub temperature could be, we'll, hot. There is also a nice buffet breakfast offered at $18. Stuff your face like I did with multiple servings, and that should get you through most of the day. All in all, however, this is a nice property at an affordable rate on an expensive island. You can get easy to the highway and go anywhere from there, without drive to much, close to restaurants and shop! The breakfast buffet is good the price is not bad, is all you can eat,( they have options on the menu) they could get more deli varieties, juices […] and cakes... But for who like omelette , bacon, sausage + the view is amazing! The bar by the pool is awesome the food is good... And the beer is always cold! They have a free wireless what it is awesome! The only negative point for me is the parking, what is paid, $14,00 a night, I did stay 9 night and cost me 131,00 dollars. Could be a little bit cheap! The Hotel in a whole was OK. The rooms were not the cleanest. The interior of the hotels were not the best. The shower plugged up, the AC/Heater didn't work. We reserved a standard size bedroom with a K-size bed for three nights. They put us in a disabled access room with 2 full-size beds. The room was not genuinely an ADA approved room although it did have some railings in the tiny bathroom. The entrance door and the bathroom door were too narrow to allow for a wheelchair to pass through it, and the bathroom […] door didn’t even clear the toilet bowl. Additionally, this hotel like other “quality” hotels offers to provide you with a complimentary replacement for any forgotten item. This hotel required us to buy our own shaving items. Each day when we returned to the room, it didn’t appear as if the floor was vacuumed, and the ice bucket was never emptied. Each day front desk staff told us they were out of pool towels and were “shortly” awaiting a fresh supply. Further, we paid a daily parking fee but never saw anyone monitoring the parking lot. The coin-operated washer and dryer did not get repaired during any of the 3-days we were guests, and staff did not greet us or help us to feel like guests. It was a disappointing stay. And last, Marriott has not acknowledged our stay in their hotel with Marriott reward points. Read more

The positive first: front desk & housekeeping staff were great - very courteous & helpful. Highlight of our stay. The room itself is clean, modern & large. The rest of our experience was disappointing. Beware Marriott Rewards Members - no Rewards Points. That was one of the reasons we selected this hotel! "Garden view" room overlooked the ballroom roof […] & parking lot. Balcony was tiny. Bathroom was very small & needs some repairs - water damage to the wall & door. About 1/2" clearance between the door & toilet so you had to shuffle around to close the door while in the bathroom. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom just a vent. We went to the restaurant for a light dinner. We were disappointed with the long wait (10 minutes for our server to come to our table), bad service, limited menu, small portions & high prices. The only time our server moved quickly was when she raced to the table to see how much of a tip she got as we walked away. $15 per day charge to park our rental - another added "fee" to collect revenue, since they don't offer a shuttle service. The beach at the hotel was mostly reef - another disappointment. We went to other beaches so we could enjoy the ocean. Stay away from the 4th floor laundry room - we found out the dryer doesnt work properly too late. This place is named "Courtyard by Marriott Resort" but this is a hotel just trying to be a resort.
