"La Tour Centre Ville"
It was a wonderful stay! Thank you!
"SImple, but good location"
I chose this hotel for its convenience close to the conference center and the kitchen with fridge and freezer. The kitchen was simple and only had the bare necessities to eat breakfast and lunch, but did have a working microwave, fridge, freezer and stove. Overall the room was simple and could use some up-dates, but clean. Wireless internet worked flawlessly […] and at speeds sufficient to use Skype. Read more
"Don't Go"
I should have listened to previous reviews. The hotel is NOT worth the money. Dim lighting, old uncomfortable beds, no working wireless, smelly, I could go on. I was supposed to stay for two nights but only stayed for one. It is worse than a motel, but for a ridiculously high price per night.
"Much Better Options around"
The hotel is located close to St. Catherine Street and Chinatown. To Chinatown is probably a 5 minutes walk and to St. Catherine Street, a 15-20 minutes walk. The hotel is near the highway so that's very convenient. The room was a bit run down. For the price, I guess you can only ask for so much. I had stayed at other hotels in Montreal (I Love Montreal!) […] and their prices are very satisfying. Prices of surrounding hotels are just a little bit higher than La Tour Centre Ville but the rooms are much cleaner, comfier, and nicer. I'm actually surprised that this apartment hotel was of much lesser quality. Even though this is an apartment style hotel, but all they have are appliances plus some plates and cups. There are no cooking utensils or cookware. Thus, If you do stay here, bring your own pots and pans. I don't recall seeing forks, spoons, and knives either. The staff are nice. The parking lot is 2 blocks away from the hotel. Overall, this hotel is alright but I won't stay here next time. There's much better options around. Read more
"A fine hotel"
A well-run hotel in a great location with reasonable rates. That said, this is not a luxurious hotel, but it is clean and run by a very attentive and polite staff. I would easily stay here again.
"La Tour Centre Ville"
The location is very convenient for the visit in Montreal. The disadvantages are: - no space for parking no breakfast included in the rate. The breakfast shop on the first floor is very expensive.
"location and price... thats it"
It's cheap and in a good location. So if that's all that matters to you, then go for it. The rooms were clean but looked like they hadn't seen any repairs since 1990. If you are taking a suite, you should know that the only AC unit is in the living room. There is nothing in the bedroom. Apparently, that one AC is supposed to "push the cool air into […] the bedroom", according to the hotel staff. I'm not sure if the regular rooms have similar issues. The hotel staff were friendly and upgraded us from two regular rooms to two suites (I'm not sure why). Although, give the AC condition, I would have preferred the regular rooms. This was my first time in Montreal so I didn't know much about the area but if I were to go back, I would pick a different hotel. Read more
"Don't bother."
Maybe it had to do with being Americans in French Canada, but the hotel staff didn't seem interested in helping us at all. The front desk was plain rude to us and problems that I called ahead to make sure were resolved were ignored even after I was told everything would be fine. The room itself was ugly. I guess they were going for a historic vibe, […] but I've never thought of the 70's as being worth remembering from a decor sense. Add on the fact that parking for the hotel was over 3 blocks away and cost $18/night and I have to recommend that this hotel be passed over for something a bit nicer. Read more
"Hotel LeTour Centre-Ville of Montréal"
It served our purposes nicely. We were dropping off our daughter at McGill and had to wait until her apartment was ready. Well-located and friendly personnel.
"Horrible Staff"
The staff at this hotel was very rude. I will never stay there again.
"Dirty"
Stains on the carpet, the mattress, the walls... This place desparately needs an update. The kitchen looked like it was straight out of the 70s, the towels were teeny and threadbare, and the AC stopped working after the first night. The staff were friendly and helpful enough, and the location was very convenient, but I wouldn't stay here again.

"La Tour Centre Ville"
Well situated for the Jazz Festival. The interior is well worn but the staff is very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. I would stay there again but those who tend to spend time in their room might want to reconsider as the TV remote didn't work for the TV in the room, the furniture is not the most comfotable, etc.
"Could Try Harder"
The hotel was located only a short walk to Saint Catherine Ave which had a lot of action - that was the positive. There were many negatives. Firstly the staff were overall poor, especially one young man who really didnt care about the guests and did not want to help anyone, myself and other guests included which I witnessed on numerous occasions. The […] room was large although the TV was tiny and reception was extremely poor. The pillows were lumpy and I slept poorly all three nights I was there. On my first night I was unable to turn off the AC, I called the front desk 4 times and they could do nothing and really couldnt care. It was freezing in my room and the noise was vey loud. I changed rooms the next night to have a room where the AC was from this century and had an on/off button. I would not recommend this hotel. It needs a serious upgrade Read more
"La Tour Centre Ville- middle of it all"
In town with 5 buddies for Formula 1 weekend. Perfect hotel for folks who dont mind "roughing it". Arrived for check-in @ 2AM and they had everything ready for us. Instant check-out as well. Good service. This hotel has definitely seen better days but it was not dirty. Furniture and carpets were pretty beat up and worn. Suite was huge with separate […] bedroom and living room with pull out couch. Plenty of space for 3 people. Not somewhere you would want to bring your sweetheart for a romantic weekend but if you are just looking for a place to sleep with no frills, this is the place. Read more
"Def 2 Star...but good location and price."
The hotel location was perfect for the festival that a friend and I attended and was mostly within walking distance of all major museums and sites we had planned to check out during our trip. The hotel was rated 2 stars, and this was def accurate, as it is not fancy, however, the comfort of the bed was acceptable. Due to the spring sale, we booked […] the large suite, and the room itself was quite spacious, so had an apartment-like-feel to it, and the kitchen came in handy, as food in Montreal is quite expensive. Some of the complaints: the towels are not nice and the front desk seemed stingy to give out extras, so bring your own if you want a decent towel. The maid service was not very consistent, nor thorough, and might give fresh towels (or not), and did not tend to change the bedding daily. Over-all, for the price and location, it was worth-it...but if you are looking to stay at a place that offers a luxury-feel, don't book here. Read more
"Dirty rooms ... but close to downtown"
We stayed at the large apartment suite (full kitchen + living room). The place is poorly maintained! Carpet has burns, iron board was stained, dishes were dirty, toaster very dirty with old bread crumbs. House keeper would only give us 2 mini towels a day. No shower towels were available. One day we walked in and one of the suitcases was open. Heater […] was not working in bedroom. However, the hotel is close to Sainte-Catherine and Old-Montreal. But for $20 more bucks, one can get in a better hotel, closer to downtown. Read more
"Decent room and close to conference center"
The room was clean and quiet, but needed some maintenance as the bathtub faucet was loose and some of the drywall was cracking. Given that I was attending a conference during the day, this room worked out well for my needs.

"Basic but functional"
If you just need somewhere to hang your hat while exploring Montreal, this works fine. No frills - basic decor - had to ask for coffee pot but received same next day. Friendly staff. Vending machines on top floor broken along with pool, workout room, spa etc. Close to grocery store (which will also deliver) and metro stations. Not a bad deal for the […] price. Read more

"Good from far, but faaaar from good."
I guess it depends what you're intending to do in Montreal, and who you are with. If you are with your frat buddies and are looking just to crash for a few hours and not really remember what the room looks like, this place is for you! If not, seek other placements. Pulling up, it's really quite nice looking...getting to our room, not so much. Damaged […] walls, less than adequate comfort beds/ pull out, kitchen fixtures from the 70's, and rugs that looked as though they had been in a dorm room for 30 years. Our "Large Suite" was a huge disappointment. It was over-crowded with 4 of us! Not recommended at all, except for it's location near St. Catherine. Read more
"Not as bad as I expected"
Some of the previous reviews were pretty awful, but I was looking for a cheap place to stay for a conference so I went ahead and booked anyway. This was a good deal for the price (some sort of sale rate for a large suite). The furniture and appliances were extremely old and outdated (had to use a space heater in bedroom, bathroom fan sounded like a […] dying goose, kitchen appliances could be featured in a museum of history). But overall the suite was as clean as it could be and the bed was firm and comfortable. EXCELLENT location to Palais de Congres, bit of a hike elsewhere. Read more
"Fine for the price"
This hotel was fine, as long as you're not expecting much for the price (especially because Montreal is an expensive city). It was close to the conference center and shopping/food, but it wasn't perfect. The staff was fairly useless (refused a package, never came to fix a light in our room, only one person at the desk at one time even during key check-in […] times). The room was fine -- the floor was stained and the appliances were dated, but the sheets looked clean. The bathroom shower was stained but more from age then dirt. The bed was a little firm and the pillows were lumpy, but I slept fine although I recommend earplugs for light sleepers and there were a lot of sirens going by (we were on the 10th floor, but the sound was still very loud). The cafe off the lobby (non affiliated with the hotel) was good but the lady working there always got the total incorrect) but the Chinese restaurant had very bland food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but keep in mind that its a budget accommodation. Read more

Hotel is somewhat dingy. However, if you just need somewhere to crash at the end of the day, then it is totally fine. It's nice that they have a microwave, toaster, kettle, and fridge in every room -- you can save some money on breakfast.
"Perfect and very reasonable!"
This is perfect for a group of friends looking for somewhere to stay and needs no frills. It was clean, staff was helpful and parking was closeby. You are 5 minutes from St. Catherine, Gay village, Old Montreal, Chinatown, MOney change locations and plenty more! The kitchens and small living rooms were great too! If you need fancy this is not for you […] but if you are never in the hotel it is perfect for the price Read more

"Rude Staff"
I took my 2 sons Montreal for a guys weekend. I picked this hotel because the it was a good price and great location. I called before booking and asked about the pool and was told yes we have a pool. After check in we thought we would take a quick swim before we headed out for the night to find the pool room looked and full of cots. When I went to the […] front desk I was told the pool had been out of service for some time and we I said I was told you had a pool. The comment I got from the desk guy was "we are told to say we do" and then rudely said " what do you want for the price we paid per night." then he turned and walked away. Also if you want a clean room this is not the place for you. There were stains on the carpet the kitchen area had a nice tile floor but the stve and frig. looked like they been there since the 50's. The bathroom tub was dirty with holes in the walls. If you are looking to get some sleep don't count on it. We were on the 12th floor and I got no sleep because you can hear every car that driving on the street. I feel that hotels.com should know what they are booking people into. Things like the pool are a big deal for some people. I would not reccomend hotel to anyone even if you are just looking at price. Let me just say that I am the easiest guy in world to get along with , but when people are disrespectful like the staff at this hotel during our stay I can get angry. I would hate for a family to check in here and have the children be subject to staff being rude to them or their parents. On a good note there is a good Chinese Resteraunt and coffee shop attached (not owned by the hotel) Read more
"Location isn't everything..."
Whoever said "Location, Location, Location" never stayed here. This hotel looks nice from the outside and in the lobby, but when you get to your room you will feel like you just arrived in 1968. Seriously, the rooms look like they haven't been remodeled in 40 years. The only thing modern about them are the key card readers on the doors, the tiny microwave, […] and the wi-fi connection. The kitchen appliances, the bathroom fixtures, even the TV look like relics from a by-gone era. The first room they gave us was cold and drafty, and the heater didn't work properly. The second room had a good heater, but none of the light switches seemed to work. The lady from the front desk was plugging lamps into different outlets trying to get them to turn on. Some were connected to cheap extension cords behind the beds. The old TV's had terrible greenish pictures in both rooms. The toilet seat was chipped, the shower head was old, and only provided a weak trickle. And to top it off, the parking costs16 bucks a day and the lot is 2 blocks away. Read more

"Great hotel for the price - get what you pay for."
My friends and I took a trip to Montreal to bring in the New Year. We decided on this hotel mainly because of it's location. We wanted to be in an area that was relatively in the center of Montreal - this hotel was it. Close the the nightlight and shopping on St. Catherine Street, the afterhours night light of St. Laurent and the loviness of old Montreal. […] Though cabs are easily hailed, this hotel is in walking distance to all of the places mentioned above. As for the quality of the Hotel - you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a cheap place to rest your head, this is it. One plus is that the rooms are spacious (my guess is the hotel used to be apartment buildings) so if you are looking to have a little party in your room before heading out, this hotel is great. The hotel staff does not seem to bother with loudness, unless at an unreasonable hour; they let you enjoy your stay and will assist you in any way they can. I would recommend this hotel to younger people looking to save money on their living while visiting Montreal. Just be warned, your lover will not be too impressed if you decide to stay here on a romantic vacation. Read more
"La Tour Centre Ville greatest in Montreal"
We love staying at this hotel. There's a full kitchen and enough room to sleep all of us comfortably. It's not too expensive and we save money on food. We've stayed there for two new years and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. In walking distance to the clubs and old montreal for all of our New Years celebrations.
"Great location"
Equidistant to the old city and the downtown shopping areas, la tour centre-ville is very well located. I stayed here about 10 years and not much has changed... the staff is still friendly and the hotel is still good, but could use some decor updating and the bathtub had some chips in it. I recommend checking parking rates nearby before agreeing to […] the hotel rate; the same outdoor lot I paid $16 for (18 with tax) had an offer for $12 on the same day... Read more

"Old, but nice stay"
Location is fine. The room was old, but everything was clean. We paid for parking in a near-by lot, but there was plenty of street parking for free. We basically had a one bedroom apartment for a nice price. The street was a bit loud at 3 am, but I think it was just a drunk group walking by screaming. (I didn't get up to look, but we could hear them […] 17 floors up.) Read more
The one bedroom unit we had was very basic with no additional comforts. The room windows had broken cranks and the windows were nailed shut. The AC barely worked and the room was stuffy. Bed was not comfortable and the sofa bed was the worst I've seen. The staff were indifferent to our comments about the windows and stuffiness of the room. I cannot […] recommend this hotel. Read more
"location convenient"
huge high rise - did have quiet rooms with kitchenette - there was an IGA grocery store nearby which worked out great, but the desk folks seemed to know not much about the area
"La Tour Centreville OK hotel, good convention ctr"
This hotel was really OK. Nothing outstanding, but OK. Average on all levels. Good location to convention center (called congres de palais,) it is maybe 5 minutes by foot. That is really good. The rest is all just average. The room was well equipped, but in all honesty the interior was a bit tired.
"La tour Centre Ville"
Location was great, room was clean, For my taste all the bed was very uncomfortable, pillows seem that were stuffed with raggs inside very uncomfortable to use. Over prices hotel

"Great location but hard to find"
The hotel is in great location but the name on the building is too small to notice. It took me some time to find the hotel when I first arrived at night. The stuff is helpful, and it is only 2 blocks away from the downtown Montreal. It was pretty quiet at night though. There is a bike rental station right next to the hotel which is really convenient. "Good location"
Near to almost everything to see in Montreal. Hotel is a bit run down though. And parking is not cheap.
"hotel from hell!"
If you are looking for a good price, perhaps this hotel is ok. Great location. It also has kitchens in the rooms, which may be very convenient for bringing some food in. But if you have working nose and ears, then you may reconsider. Room was clean, but the smell in it was almost deadly. It was so overpowering, I felt like throwing up from it during […] the night, and that is on open window! I think there must be dead animals left under the bed or something! And the noise - somewhat noisy if you have to have your window open, but the main surprise was the fire alarm!!! It sounded on both nights I stayed in!! It seemed like the rule. It's very old fire alarm system, so it's old fashion bells ringing in the middle of the night and you have no idea what's happening. Some people evacuated, others just waited for the fire trucks to leave.. The second night I didn't bother. Needless to say is the sleep you can get on a night like this. Furniture is extremely old and worn off, but that's livable for the price. TV does not work properly. At least the WiFi is free! I don't know if all the rooms smelled like this, but I'll never stay at this hotel again! Read more
