The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina - Newport

We were a bit concerned with some of the lower ratings but decided to take a chance as this stay was for only one night. I am giving this hotel top marks and would stay there once again. The view of the bay was very nice in the morning too.

Great location. Loved the harbor views. Nice indoor pool. No breakfast included but there's a restaurant connected by a hallway so you don't have to go outside.

Had a great time. Would have liked a hot tub / jacuzzi by pool. Bathrooms are small but hotel is great otherwise. It's near tons of shops and restaurants.

We picked this hotel due to its rate, location, & parking. The hotel offers harbor/sunset views of Newport in spring although windows don't open more than a crack. The parking is easy and location is great- walking distance to the Wharfs and tons of shopping/resturaunts. It provides a very basic room with the necessities at an excellent price. Perfect […] for families or if you plan on staying outdoors and using it just to sleep/as a home base. I wouldn't say it had the charm most Newport boutique hotels do or good for a romantic weekend where youd spend more time indoors but I'd choose it over a chain competitor like Mariott or Hyatt esp. if price is cheaper as it was the weekend we went. I went to Newport with my wife and wanted to stay in the center of town and this hotel fit the bill. The hotel is nothing special but the room was comfortable and clean. They have a pool on site but i did not go in. Overall it did the job that I wanted and that was a place to sleep at night near the center of town.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina. It was off season and so some of the usual facilities were not available but this was to be expected and reflected in the price. If I have one complaint it is that, even though the hotel was to a large extent empty, rather than give us a room with a good view of the harbour, we were […] stuck in a corner with a view of a roof. I realise we took the budget option room, but it seems like the hotel might have made an effort to impress us more, considering the rooms with a better view were standing empty anyway. Location was great and had a nice view of the harbor. Bathroom was small but adequate. Staff was friendly but when we requested an extra coffee cup for the room they said they were busy and it never came. The pool was also nice. For the price and location I would stay here again.

The location is great! The room was clean & comfortable. We got a first floor room which had a door to go outside near the boat dock. The only bad thing was the noise level. We could hear doors opening & shutting & people talking throughout the night.

From the outside the hotel looked nice. When we got in you could tell it was an older hotel, which is ok. When we got in our room it was freezing cold! Had to be warmer outside then in the room. When I went to go use the phone to call down to the desk we noticed there were small black hairs on the phone receiver! Then we went to go get ice and had issues […] finding the ice bucket. Once we did find it, it had trash in it! Someone had used the complimentary Keurig and put the empty cup & creamer in it. There was also a "funk" in the room that smelled like poo. It wasn't all the time but enough. The mystery hair had also found it's way to the bathroom. It was all over the sink and even on the walls! How is that even possible???? Finally, went to go use the Keurig for a cup of coffee in the morning and it did not heat the water. Great value on a room but spend the extra bucks and go to the Radisson. Stayed here for two nights after our wedding for a mini-honeymoon prior to the summer getaway. The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina is not the Waldorf however they pay great attention to maintaining a clean property. The lobby and hallways were spotless and the room was immaculate. From the start it was not a pleasant experience. We were punctual for check-in. However, they were not. Our check-in was delayed one hour. After traveling in a blizzard to get there we were very disappointed they could not accommodate us in anyway. The desk staff really need to get a clue. I was using one credit card for three rooms and for some reason, this was inconceivable to the clerk checking me in which made everything take way, way, too long. It was beyond ridiculous. Rooms could also use some sort of redecorating. Hotel is beginning to look a little old.

Our stay was comfortable and nice. It would have been nice to know, at time of booking, that the pool was under construction. That is one of the reasons I booked with this hotel because they had an indoor pool.

Overall, my wife and I had a great time. We went off season, and even though it was cold and windy we both left with a positive view of the hotel and the staff. We had a standard size room, with a king sized bed (which was the most comfortable bed that I've slept in). The Keurig coffee maker in the room was a nice upgrade to the old school single cup […] coffee makers. Nice new flat screen TV. One small thing, that really doesn't matter, but the cabinet that the TV sits in was a little too small to hold the tv, so you had to pull the TV all the way out, and the cabinet door couldn't close. This hotel was fantastic! Check-in was smooth, our room was extremely comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the harbor. The concierge was very helpful with restaurant suggestions. The hotel was overall a good deal and in a great location. They didn't charge for parking which I sometimes find other hotels do when located in a main location. We had a minor issue with our heat which they promptly fixed. Breakfast not included. View of the harbor from our room, I recommend staying here.

Had an awesome time, great location with an amazing view of the harbor from our room. Close to everything, we walked everywhere!! The pool was closed for renovation but that was ok. We will go back! Staff was awesome!
