"Great Place to Stay...."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
ALL staff is very polite and helpfull. They will go out of there way to assist you with any of your needs. I would recomend the Clarion to everyone. On the down side they have renovations going on and restaurant is closed and the front desk is a short distance to the elevators. Stop in and say "HI" the staff will greet you with a smile. I have been here the last 7 weekends and VERY HAPPY...

Very convenient and good quality for airport access.
"courteous staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
hotel's being renovated, so no pool, and lobby half painted. they tell you this up front. staff is very helpful; room tidy and pretty, breakfast quite substantial, fresh fruit too. they are having trouble with wifi in the rooms, but it's easily to be had in the lobby and breakfast space. very convenient to airport.

"will be much better once renovation is complete"
The surrounding area of this hotel is nice. The hotel is undergoing a much-needed renovation, which is readily acknowledged by the staff (who were extremely friendly and attentive). Our big issue was that our non-smoking room absolutely wreaked of smoke.

"Great location"
The hotel was pretty nice although there was no breakfast included in the morning. It is really close to Hartford and you can get into the city within like 5 minutes. We were able to check in early, which was awesome. Its a good place to stay if you are looking for a place to just sleep for the night and be out and about during the day.

"Better than expected"
I travel to Hartford each week for work. When I'm on vacation it's the Bellagio or the Borgata or some place extravagant. When I travel for work I just need a nice, clean room with a bed, TV and shower. A place to work out would be nice. Free breakfast and free wi-fi would be a bonus. The Days Inn Hartford has all that and a friendly, courteous, responsive […] staff to go with it. For me, it's more than enough and more than I expected for the rate. Read more
Adequate in a crisis situation !
"Days Inn Hartfort, CT"
Overall the stay was alright, I've stayed at Days Inn before and was very pleased...The room wasn't very clean unpon arrival. There was a stale cigaette smell in the room (no smoking policy). Staff were very curtious and helpful. Would recommend it for short stays.
Room is okay, but lobby looks sketchy. Also, I wish the bed had another blanket on the bed besides the hotel comforter because I don't like to use them.

"A little more than basic"
I'm working in the Hartford area but I live in NYC. I 've stayed at all kinds of hotels and motels in my business and personal travel. The Days Inn Hartford is nice. It's neat, clean, quiet and has a gym, be it ever so small. The free internet and free continental breakfast plus the microwave and refrigerator in my room makes this a real good look for […] a short stay. It's far from the Taj Mahal but there's enough value and amenities to make me book it again when I'm back in town on business and a budget. Read more
"The Days Inn in Hartford"
My son was scared to stay there. The location of the place and how people were just walking in and out of the rooms. It was more like housing for different contractors and then a hotel. The room also smelled like smoke and it was a nonsmoking room. I have a cold and I was coughing the whole 15 minutes I was in the room.
"Only 5 minutes from Convention Center"
Other than the rowdy roomers on our floor (who some were booted and others warned about complaints), our stay was acceptable; however, smoke from other floors could be smelled throughout the hotel, including out "nonsmokin" room. It gave us pause when we saw the desk attendant behind a glass enclosure, making us wonder about the safety of the area. […] Wish there were irons and boards in the rooms. Free WiFi was a bonus, although a little slow. Continental breakfast was sparse... negative on many healthy choices. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Sunken lobby set up odd... ramp down into lobby, then steps up to get to the elevator. Nothing about the experience would prevent us from staying again, and the fact of being only 5 minutes from the Hartford Convention Center would probably be the deciding factor. Read more

"Fine for a cheap one-night"
Room was clean, receptionist exceptionally friendly and helpful, Internet was free, fast and easy. The airport/industrial surroundings were what they were - but all the basics were there.
"Excellent Service - Poor Condition"
I was very impressed by the friendliness and service of the hotel staff. They allowed us to check out late which was a huge convienence. The condition of the hotel is below par, our room (non smoking) smelled a bit like smoke.

"Horrible"
This hotel is by far the worst place I have ever been in. I work at a hotel and this place was by far the worst! The room smelled, the carpet was dirty and looked like it was stained in blood, the bathroom was so gross I did not want to shower. Also walking into the hotel is smelled liked marijuana. There were drug deals going on in the parking lot […] and I was afraid to leave my car there. Overall it was gross and a horrible stay, thank god I didn't leave with any diseases. Read more

"Days Inn Hartford - good place to stay over."
Hotel staff very friendly and willing to be of assistance. A very nice restaurant, The Chowder Pot, located next door. Convenient public bus service to and from downtown Hartford stops 1/2 block from Hotel. Few minor repair items which were immediately addressed. Morning continental quite adequate with good coffee. I paid the same amount for three days […] that friends paid per night for downtown hotel. Would stay again if business took me to Hartford. Read more

The room was spacious and clean. A little disappointed the television was not updated (still tube style versus flat panel), and the bed was not comfortable to sleep on. The mattress was far too firm. It was comfortable to watch television on, or to use our laptops on. The internet was very fast and reliable! The shower was clean and refreshing. The […] soaps and shampoo in the room was very delightful, enjoyed them greatly! Housekeepers were very helpful, and cleaned the room as good/fresh as new. Front desk was extremely helpful. Overall was pleased with stay, just wish the mattress was more comfortable to sleep upon. Read more
"Clean and friendly"
Stayed two nights, both nights room wad clean and staff was friendly. Hall way smelled bevause smoking is allowed but rooms were fresh and clean. We got a free upgrade for no reason at all. Hotel is small, but if you need a place to stay it's great. A lot of shopping within 10 minutes.

"Satisfied"
We needed a room near Hartford, so I don't think it would be valid to speak to the neighborhood. The staff at the hotel were friendly and solicitous. I couldn't have asked for more. The rooms - especially the carpet - was a little worn, but other than that, we were completely satisfied.
"Convenient if you need a hotel near the airport."
This hotel was not clean. The evening staff seemed like we were bothering her since it was late when we checked in. The morning employee was much more pleasant. We didn't eat the continental breakfast, but I noticed there was powdered Creamora rather than cream. We were driving, but I guess the location would be convenient if you were flying. It seemed […] many truckers stay there, since it is right off the highway. Read more
"Days Inn Hartford not bad for the price"
Clerk was very helpful and accommodating. We were checked in our room around noon.
"Days Inn Hartford - Passable at a decent price"
The hotel itself is nothing surprising for the Days Inn brand. The place has seen better days. All the exits have been tagged as emergency exits except the main entrance. This means you have to walk halfway down the building in order to enter the hotel. Considering it was pouring rain, this was not overly desireable. Hotel is located right next to a […] small airport but we didn't hear any traffic noise for the three days we were there. Room was basically clean. There was a strong buildup of dust in the mouldings and corners. The amenities in the room worked well. Read more
"Excellant Stay"
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. And near attractions.
"Better Upkeep"
The staff was very friendly and helpful, how ever the maintenance of the hotel is VERY POOR. Wallpaper coming off in several places, accompanied with mold. Mold on bathroom wall(ceiling) toilet leaking leaving rust stain on bathroom floor. Found hair in tub. Every time the elevator went up or down there was a loud(buzzing) noise in the room (which was […] very disturbing). Read more

"DON'T BOTHER"
Definitely not a place for any decent person. And don't even make a reservation, because you'll want to cancel and they won't let you. So i got charged the full price even though I wouldn't even bring my kids through the front door, it was that bad.
"reasonable"
convient to the union station, and reasonable price.the front desk is very nice.
"Days Inn in Hartford, CT"
My review is more about Hotels.com. It never mentioned on the site which rooms were smoking and which were not. When we got to the hotel we had one smoking and one non-smoking. I needed 2 non-smoking and both rooms side by side. Hotels.com should have it posted as to what type of rooms they are selling.
I needed an overnight room to attend the Revolve Dream On tour. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. Everything about it matched or exceeded my expectation. The price, the check in process, the room, all was in order and I would stay here again.

"Non smokers beware!"
Our 'non smoking' room stank of fresh smoke. I immediately requested another room. We were shown 2 others, one of which also stank of stale smoke, the other smelled of air freshener covering up the smell of smoke. I think the hotel rooms share air conditioning ducts since the room we settled on ended up smelling of smoke through the night. My clothes […] all stank of smoke the next day. Read more
"A++"

"My daysinn away"
I traveled to hartford, CT for a seminar. I checked for hotels closer to the where the seminar was being held but most were booked or out of my price range. I got a warm bed, hot shower and 4 great night of sleep. I was full of energy for the 4 days of my seminar and was very happy.
"False representation"
There were strange characters hanging around in the lobby. Didn't get accommodations as requested - non-smoking. Clothing smelt smokey after I left. Was told that hotel was 15 minutes from my destination and it wasn't.
"The Days Inn, Hartford CT"
i GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH FOR WHAT I PAID FOR. THE BATHROOM WAS SPOTLESS, MY BED AND LINEN WERE CLEAN (I ALWAYS CHECK). AND I HAD A FRIG AND MICROWAVE. I GUESS MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE CARPET COULD HAVE BEEN CLEANER. IT HAD A FEW OBVIOUS SPOTS. BUT OVERALL, I WAS A SATISFIED CUSTOMER AND WOULD DEFINATELY GO BACK.
"Comfortable stay"
For the price paid, it was a good value. I stayed for a place to sleep and that's it, so I just wanted something comfortable. There was LIMITED PARKING, luckily got a spot but it was the last one available when I got in late at night. Easy drive to downtown Hartford. Breakfast was limited, but nice to have. Bagels, mini muffins, cereal, juice, coff […] ee. Read more
"Horrible Stay"
This was the absoulute worst hotel ever. My husband and I didn't even stay at the hotel, we drove back home to NY. The room was atrocious and just plain GROSS. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to ANYONE, I thought it was a great deal but they certainly got me! Caution to everyone spend a few extra bucks and stay some where else. I wasted my money don't […] make the same mistake!!! Read more

"Days Inn near Hartford Airport--- dont stay here!"
The rooms smelled like smoke and the blankets had cigarette burns in them. The free breakfast was very limited and when I asked for an extra hour for checkout they told me it would cost 10 extra dollars. It was not a good experience.
"Foul, shocking, and worst of its category"
I'm not a diva. I've stayed at $15 dollar hostels in Vienna and couch-surfed through Prague in conditions I'd rather not recall. I didn't expect much, but I did not expect that my non-smoking room would smell so badly of smoke -- I saw a sign behind the reception desk on my 2nd day saying room 109 (mine) and a couple others were coded as KII (?) in […] the system but should be rented as non-smoking anyway. My alarm clock was broken and buttons filled with something sticky & crusty. I asked for another one and was told there were none. Really?! Receptionist had me chase him to another room -- which didn't have a clock -- he finally brought me one. It also didn't work. I gave up and set a wake-up call. It came an hour early -- apparently, the hotel didn't reset its phone system with daylight savings. The room itself was clean, except for smelling of smoke. The screen on my window was ripped, which I noticed when I opened it for some fresh air.. and which just kind of creeped me out on the ground level. The location is good, but spring for the few extra bucks & stay at the Holiday Inn Express next door. Read more
