"Nice, but not for families."
A wedding party was also staying the weekend we stayed. Needless to say, there was a lot of noise and the people next to us needed to be removed by police after a loud drunken fight broke out! I was worried for the safety of my family as we had our 2 year old with us. The hotel staff was very quick to remove the trouble makers however and the rest of […] the night was good. The free breakfast was also very good, with pancakes, bagels, juice, milk, coffee and yogurt. Also eggs and bacon. My 2 yr old loved it. As we are a family, we will not be staying downtown edm again, it was a little too noisy for us. The hotel was very nice, the beds were comfy and the room was clean. "Hot room, noisy halls"
Room layout was okay, and bed comfortable, but it was hot as air conditioning didn't work in winter and there was no fan or air circulation. The reasonable rates seemed to attract partiers so that noise was a problem both nights. Walls are thin, hallways echoey and doors slam noisily. Hot breakfast was nice, parking rates were reasonable. Probably would […] not stay again unless pressed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Just great value for money"
Its a great place to be and I don't have any complaints. It is rated as a 2.5 star hotel. I have seen 4 star hotels with service and conditions worse than this. As far as short trips to edmonton is concerned, Holiday Inn Express is the place to be.Genuine Expedia guest review
Amazing place, good service and good locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It is hard to rate a place when all one does is sleep there. This hotel was ok, though it is a bit dated. The whole surrounding area has signs posted saying that car breakins are a frequent occurrence. For a one night stay this was fine. The room would have been very lacking if we were spending multiple days there. The staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
clean and comfortable and spacious (exec king) - pleasantly suprised.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
The price was right, the breakfast was excellent, and the room was very comfortable for 4 adults to stay. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Happy repeat customer"
I always stay at this hotel when I visit Edmonton. I've very rarely had any problems there, but when I have had a problem, the front desk staff is always happy to fix it. Price is always good. Breakfast is fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only reason it wasn't a total disaster of an experience was the fact that it was a five minute walk to the Edmonton LRT....... Gross....... There was dirty sheets and dirty everything just sitting in the halls in the evening and the shower certain was completely discusting. The room door didn't shut on its own as it should, and as we thought it […] did. Came back later that night only to realize that our door wasn't latched. While I was in the shower at 7:00am someone tried coming into the room, because the inside latch was in the position to indicate that. All in all, it's a pretty beat up place. "Nice and Cozy!!"
The rooms were very clean and well kept. The beds were very comfy. The pillows were good. I didn't wake up with a sore neck. The bathroom was adequately stocked and towels were fresh and clean. The pool area could use a little bit of maintenance. The chlorine levels were a bit too strong for me. I could smell that all the way in the elevator. Great […] coffee, good breakfast - I loved the hot pancakes and scrambled eggs. The Muffins were ok, a little bit less baked for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express. I had requested for an extended check out as my flight was leaving late in the evening and the staff were very accomodating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fitting for a Halloween weekend - SCARY!"
This hotel's walls may very well have been made from paper. Bricks and mortar may have helped screen some of the noise coming in from outside, below us, and beside us. Thank God for London Drugs and earplugs for night # 2. Impressive as the Fry Experiment is on YouTube, it is somewhat underwhelming when the pool area is used as the lab. Maybe a cleaning […] person could get rid of the fries, the peeling ceiling paint, and the rust around the hot tub in one (or 7) visits to the pool. Never again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great location for everything"
Great places to stay and everything was just walking distances from the hotel. Will stay there more often but the breakfast is something to pass on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Small rooms. No fridge. Thin walls. Could hear everything. Party in rooms and hallway. Smoking, loud music, and screaming all night long. Over priced for quality of stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We thought the rooms were very nice and the private balcony, fantastic! The complimentary breakfast was by far the best I've had. We were very impressed with the array of items to choose from. We would definitely book at this hotel again and other Holiday Inn Expess' for future events.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel for Edmonton"
I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Edmonton and lived there for 40 years so I am familiar with the areas. The hotel is perfectly good, with a pool and hot tub for use. The breakfast is very good for one that is inclusive in your rate. Omelettes, fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausages, pancakes, toast, bagels, cream cheese, cereal, etc - something for everyone. […] Our room was very clean and new with good sheets and pillows. I noticed no noise from other rooms. The area is not the best, being downtown and around the corner from Red Arrow buses and across the street from another hotel with a noticable bar but there are some restaurants close by and a Sobeys grocery store 1 block away. "Stay in Edmonton"
We have stayed there 3 times now and like the location, breakfast is decent but this time we were disappointed in the cleaniness of the hotel and the smell of smoke on the 4th floor. Then they sprayed a freshner and made it worse.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location and surroundings. The free breakfast was nice would recommend it this hotel. Will be going back on my next days off.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Low Maintenance Traveller Satisfied"
This hotel was clean, quiet and conveniently located downtown. I was especially pleased by the complimentary breakfast - it included fruit and individual omelets as well as the usual muffins and coffee. I'd definitely use stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very awkward when checking in. I had called and told them that I would have a dog when I booked with you guys and when we got there he acted like he was surprised that we had a pet and made us feel very awkward. We weren't sure that he was going to have a room for us. I told him that we hadtold then we would have a dog with us at the time of […] booking. I have travelled neough to know that certain rooms are for pets and smokers. Needless to say, when we were checking in in the evening, the last thing we wanted to do think about having to find another place when we alreayd knew this one was paid for. What a wonderful week in Edmonton. The Holiday Inn is a great place to stay. The staff were extremely helpful in providing transit info and attraction info. Breakfasts were great. "right down town"
It was good, insept the room was very hot and no air conditioning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was very friendly and efficient - and even offered to help us find things to do, IF we needed such. When there was too much noise on our floor after 11 p.m., and we called down to the front desk, the problem was immediately addressed. The breakfast buffet was good, although I expected some changes between Sunday morning and Monday morning […] - ie scrambled eggs and bacon one morning, cheese omelettes and sausage the next. "Standard hotel stay"
The Wifi in the rooms were awful and slow. Even going down to the lobby area didn't seem to make the connection any better or faster. It was better just go go outside and hook into the shaw internet cable. Parking was also an additional $10 per day, but if you park directly across from the red arrow, there's a lot for only $5 per day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Holiday Inn- great for the hockey game"
I stayed in the holiday Inn because I was going to the hockey game. Great location for this, because the LRT is very close and took me right to the game. I read a review about parking at the hotel not good, but I was happy with it, parked right next to the hotel, for an extra $10 fee. Clean place, great swimming pool for the kids.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holiday Inn - Downtown Edmonton"
Not happy here. No free parking at this hotel, its charged on top of your rate. As this is an older hotel, the walls are very thin, the mattresses worn out, and lights don't work in the elevator(to tell you what floor your going past), floor number signs are missing when the doors open. In fact, on our last night, both elevators were down. The next […] morning one elevator was running, but the wait for it was painful. As long as 10 min-15min. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holiday Inn Express Downtown - Edmonton, AB"
The hotel location was good. close to the subway which was handy. The front desk management was very very poor. They first of all assigned me to a one bed room instead of a two bed room even theough they knew I was checking in with another guy. This was just the start. After sorting that out I do to my room to find there was an open space where my fridge […] was supposed to be, but I never complained. Shortly after I decided to extend my stay for another night which I thought was not a hard task but soon realized different. The front desk lady then decided to inform me of every possible problem that might prevent me from being able to do this.... After calming her down she informed me that I never booked with the hotel directly so I would have to call hotels.com So I called and found out that there would be no problem staying another night, OH YA!!!! This is when I was informed that I would have to move to another room and I said if there is another double room available and they have not checked in why wouldnt you save the extra clean up cost and my inconvenience by leaving me in the same room. I was then told I would have to come back and check with the manager in an hour.... I then spent a majority of the rest of the day answering my door to cleaning staff who were trying to clean my room (that I booked for another night) God only knows where my luggage would have ended up should I have decided to leave the hotel for the afternoon.... Then on check out day the 2 elevator hotel was down to one because the service company was not called on saturday when it actually broke down. Instead they waited till Sunday (the most busiest day of the week for check out) to have the company show up. My recommendation to anyone planning on staying here is to book for all the nights in the beginning and don't plan on trying to extend your stay as it only confuses the staff. Good Luck!!! "Hotel room has no heat with outdoor temp -15C!"
I booked a room 20 days ahead of the new year 2012. I thought they will give me a good room. Unfortunately the room they gave me has NO baseboard heating! The heating coil was icy cold. They just simply told me to turn on the ventilation fan and said this is the heat enough for me to warm up. But how can I fall in sleep with the loud humming noise? […] They also said the boiler was turned off. I told them to open the isolation valves of the baseboard heating coil but they were declined to do so. They don't realize they are talking with an HVAC maintenance engineer working in a hospital! They don't know how to lie and just treat people naive and low IQ. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was trevelling through Edmonton, using the Red Arrow bus service. This hotel is literally around the corner from the downtown drop off. I didn't arrive until 11pm, the staff knew, my room was ready and it was clean, what more is there? The decor is slightly dated, but as far as I could see it was maintained well. The breakfast is a hot continental […] and was acceptable. It is located one block south of Jasper Aveue, downtown. I'd say there are better hotels in the areaa, but there are worse too, and for my journey, the Holiday Inn Ex[ress was exacyly what I wanted. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
