"Close to all must-see sights."
It was relatively comfortable for the price paid. Breakfast was good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Service, Great Location"
The staff was very helpful, helping us deal with a broken suitcase. The hotels location is great, didn't have to use public transportation during our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location is very good."
Staff, Esster and Michael, were excellent, helpful and knowledgeable. Hotel is vintage but accomodating. Location is great, 1 block to main train station and 4 blocks to Tivoli, easy walking to both. Hop on Hop off stop 2 blocks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to train station"
the hotel itself was fine. Clean and very friendly and helpful personnel. We had a great dinner just a block away but if you wander any further than that you will find yourself in a very "adult business" district which leaves nothing to the imagination.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Worst hotel I ever had in Europe they try to rip off the customer. Noisy cannot sleep at night at 90° no aircon.will tell my friends to avoid this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I would never book another hotel in CPH unless I know it has air conditioning. We had to keep the windows open for fresh air and the noise outside was to much to bear. We did not get any sleep. Thank god we were only there for just one night. Because we could not have taken more than one night there of no sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to train station"
The hotel was "ok" staff was allright, however when we checked in we asked for a 5:00 a.m. wakeup call. I called again before going to bed and was told it was all set. We had a 7:50 a.m. flight. Luckily I awoke at 6:25 a. m. and the train station was a half a block and it only took 13 minutes to get to the airport. When checking out the gentleman at […] the front desk just said, I just came on and really didn't care. It was not the way we wanted to end our vacation having to be rushed. Overall, I would not recommend anyone staying there unless you like "hostiles" Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
An older, but very pleasant hotel. The room, bed and breakfast were all very good. We were very satisfied. Would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A reasonably priced alternative in Copenhagen"
The rooms were clean and comfortable but spartan. The rates were reasonable even with the buffet breakfast and wifi was included. One of the few hotels offering triple rooms. The rooms have been modernized but the elevators are original and very small and slow. Don't expect to use the elevator for the morning check-out. We were on the first floor and […] used the stairs our entire stay. The hotel is quite close to the train station and major bus routes, the main shopping area and Tivoli. The Vestbro area is basically the red light district of Copenhagen and the area around the hotel is a bit grungy, but not intimidating. Our sons found it fascinating! The hotel staff, though overworked, were very polite and helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great service for the hotel"
The room is small based on the US standard at that price. But it is in Copenhangen city and its location is good. The service of the hotel is super and staffs are very helpfule. We are pleased to stay there and would recommened it to others.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, very soft beds"
Great stay, great service at the hotel. Location is absolutely in the middle of it all. Note that the beds are very soft and people with back problems like myself should note that. Very small bathroom, but for the price this is a great buy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A definite yes"
We booked at the last minute and got a snug, cleverly designed room with a view of the spire ride at the Tivoli. The hotel is across the street from the main train station which made getting to the airport a breeze. Would stay there again for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bathroom is a bit simple but clean. Everything else was excellent. Excellent hotel front desk staff- professional, polite, and work hard. Continental breakfast was very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Would have been more satisfied if breakfast had been included in rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good choice for spending 1-3 nights in Copenhagen"
Closely located to the central railway station and the city center, the hotel gives all facilities that could be expected from 3* hotel - clean and cosy room, helpful staff, hot water in the shower. On the ground floor there was a reception area where I saw guests staying in the evening drinking beer or smth. My room was very small but everything there […] was in good conditin and functioning - I would not need more for staying overnight. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very good value"
Copenhagen is outrageously expensive. This hotel is not cheap but it is a good value relative to others and the staff are very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This is exactly average hotel"
This is exactly average hotel with no significant flaws or benefits. Sink hot water tap partially didn't work but was repaired after second reminder. Telephone didn't work even after second reminder. Once time fire alarm was activated at 4 a.m. - and the whole hotel came to reception - somebody fully dressed, some fully undressed - it was funny. However […] it was false alarm and person on reception just repeated "I don't no what to do". We came back to the room and suffered at least 15 minutes for extremely loud sound. After that I tried to look inside the alarm, twisted it and sound disappeared in the whole hotel! At the morning, some worker came inside my room and said that I have to turn alarm on... and after that I was informed that I was fined for alarm deactivation! After some ugly scandal fine request has taken away. Please be informed that location of this hotel not only convenient close to central railway station but also inside red light district (this fact is not influences hotel atmosphere, though). "Ok Hotel, Excellent Location"
The hotel was fair being decently clean and very affordable considering how expensive Copenhagen is. I was only here 1 night in transit to Paris, but the location is excellent. The hotel is literally 1 block from the main train station. For a short stay, I would recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location you can walk to major places. Good breakfast. Very close to the station! It was very convenience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Budget service for non-budget price."
Pros: Location is great (right in the city center), nice big bathroom and shower (rare for European hotels), reasonably priced. Cons: It took them a while to find my reservation, the actual room is quite small, heater does not work that great, WiFi works only on the ground floor and most of all the equipment tends to malfunction (I was awaken in the […] middle of the night by Fire Alarm going on for no reason what so ever - considering that it is extremely loud and right above the bed, not the experience you want to have) Overall, it's a descent 2-3 star hotel, conveniently located and reasonably priced (by EU standards, in US same quality hotel would go for half as much). if the only thing you want is to sleep and move on with your travels - not a bad choice. "Not impressed at all"
They say 3 star hotel. Its more like a cheap motel in American standards big box tv with no cable and only 4 working channels, no wifi in the room only in the lobby. You can barely fit in the shower and is right next to the toilet unsanitary, the only thing dividing it is a curtain.Genuine Expedia guest review
A very conveniently located hotel one block from the Copenhagen Main Railway Station. A simple, but well-run hotel with helpful staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not much for the price"
CPH is expensive - so (especially Americans who are spoiled back home with great hotels at half this price) don't expect too much. It;s an old place that's seen better days (I hope). Staff polite and helpful - breakfast GREAT! But rooms tiny, appearance shabby. Neighborhood typical of European Central Station areas - drugs, street people - noise... […] but very convenient to the station. And get ready to pay fifty bucks for a steak and $8 for a decent coffee in CPH retaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel in Copenhagen for the price."
We had a good experience at this hotel. Very close to Central Station, that was a big plus. Nice Thai restaurant nearby. Breakfast was spread was OK, not great but cannot complain. Room was clean and quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Our 2nd stay"
We came back because we were very happy with our first stay. Nice breakfast, helpful desk staff. Close to sights and restaurants. Short walk to central train station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, we will come back!"
No complaints at all. Close to Central train station, Tivoli Gardens, the art museum, city square and many other sights. Great breakfast! We sleep with our windows open at night and there was a lot of street noise at night, but neighborhood is fine. We have stayed here twice, with similar experiences. Very satisfied.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny room in red light district"
I thought this would be ok based on recommendations on this site. It was not nice at all. The room is tiny, has no natural light. The shower is very tiny and there is nothing to stop the water from running all over the floor. Mostly, a visitor should know that this is in the red light district.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We came back and will again the future."
The hotel is in a great location...just a short walk from the central train station, city square, Tivoli gardens and Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum. In fact, for those who enjoy walking, you can reach in boat tour area in only 20 minutes, and from there a comfortable walk to the Little Mermaid and other great sights. A very nice breakfast is available […] off the lobby, free internet service and helpful desk staff. We've found their suggestions and directions very useful. The cost is very reasonable. Our only criticism is that neither CNN or MSNBC is available in guest rooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Star Copenhagen Hotel is not located in an area where I would have chosen. The concierges were very nice to us and allowed us to leave the hotel later paying an extra fee ,as our plane was leaving at 8pm.They also offered free wi fi. Maybe, I am comparing this hotel with the Landmark in London that was fabulous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"fs in ny"
Mattress is too soggy, it sinks in the middle. I got a back ache. Hotel telephone was out of order for 2 days. Sink faucet does not shut easily, dripping water noise disturbs sleep. One side of the bed is without a little place to leave watch or glasses. The other side of the bed is equipped with such table.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sketchy area, small rooms"
Quite expensive for such a small room. The TV didn't work (not that it probably would have been in English anyways). The area around the hotel is kind of the red light district for CPH. Lots of strip clubs and xxx stores. All the restaurants in the area are really expensive because they prey on tourists.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The worst experience of my life"
Horrible neighborhood, there were prostitutes walking on the streets at night, very scary people walking on the streets. The police would pass by and there were fights between our hotel peronnel and the prostitues. I didn't fell safe at all. The room was extremely noisy, Icould sleep at all. The hotel rooms were small and the bathroom was horrible. […] Terrible experience. I don't recomment this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good, clean budget hotel in good location next door to main rail station. Don't expect any frills, however. Rooms very small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Copenhagen Star - watch out"
This hotel is not a three star hotel. The hotel has no fans in the rooms, so opening windows to the street with yelling teenagers all night was the only options to keep cool. The surrounding neighborhood is not secure. The room has towels as thin as paper and no wash cloths. The front desk and breakfast was very nice. It is within walking distance of […] most places of interest. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and breakfast"
Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first, because it tends to obscure what is a fine hotel value with a great location. Yes, the hotel condition could be better. It's a bit worn and the rooms are certainly small. But the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Also, when you first check in, you need to know that the room key makes the elevator […] work. This was not explained and it resulted in some confusion. Finally, the street that the hotel is on is what passes for the local red light district. But it's easily ignorable (it's very low-key). If you can get past these issues here's what you will like: The location is exceptional, near the center of town. Tivoli is two blocks away, the high-end hotels (Imperial and the Royal hotel) are nearby, the town square is a five minute walk away, within a few blocks, there are buses that go everywhere. The buffet-style breakfast is first-rate. It's subcontracted to a local bistro and the selection is great with sliced ham, salami, lovely fresh breads, cereals, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juices and teas. There's a local gift shop that is the best in town, the central train station is on the next block, there's a 7-11 nearby and there are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The local sushi place is okay, but not great. Best of all, it's reasonably priced. I would recommend it for the value-conscious traveller. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Copenhagen Star Hotel"
The staff were great. They had a free room and checked me in at no extra cost at 8 AM. They recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner. They are undergoing renovations so the lobby is not so nice. The room was clean but small - what I expected for the price and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Copenhagen Star Has Shone Brighter"
This was our last stop of a three week vacation and was a huge disappointment. First off - hotel offers no parking and parking on surrounding streets is expensive. Hotel staff mentioned a parking garage close by but made it sound like it was out of the way. I suspect most hotels in this area of having same problem. Rooms on street side are very noisy. […] Street noise, mostly human, goes on most of the night and starts very early. Rooms are becoming worn. Toilet had disgusting mold/mildew under rim. Toilet was located just inside bathroom door and had to be stepped over to get to sink & shower. Complimentary breakfast is a typical but bare bones buffet. The quality of food should be better. Hotel staff was efficient but not personable. I would not stay in Copenhagen again and if I did it would certainly NOT be at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"has to be the best value in Copenhagen"
While this is not rated a 5 star hotel, it sure measures up to it's 3 star status. Locatiion is good with only a 1 block walk from the central railway station which I took to get from the airport. My single room was ample in size with one twin bed, desk, tv, courtyard view and bath with plenty of towels to suit my stay. The generous breakfast was as […] good as any I have had in pricier hotels. Price/Value relationship is a definate 5 (out of 5!) and this is why I have given this hotel an overall rating of 5 Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Basic Hotel. Would not recommend if comfort is what you are after. Funiture/ Bathroom outdated. Bathroom taps were not working properly and the whole room had only 1 mirror which was situated in the bathroom. Not very handy when more than 1 person tries to get ready in the morning. Reception under staffed but friendly. Great location though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No go for business travellers"
A clean room is the only positive notion. Sorry breakfast and service. Very small bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a 3 star hotel !"
Although having paid top dollar, the quality was only marginally better than camping. The furnishing is the one of an Ibis (I regnozided the carpeting and bedding), minus any form of comfort. The bathroom was just awful; no real shower stall, just a hole in the floor: the whole room gets flooded while you take a quick shower. The TV is a (bad) joke: […] it's a nice flat screen but the service includes 3 channels in Danish and CNN, unacceptable for a hotel in the country's capital. Breakfast is OK but no more, definitely not worth the extra you have to pay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, seedy neighborhood, but clean"
The room was clean and the bed was fine. A squeegy for the shower floor would have been useful and an outlet near the bed for electronic charging was missing. Otherwise, a good value!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good hotel, but sadly there was some building works happening at the hotel, and there was a strange smell in my bathroom, which ruined it a bit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Copenhagen Star hotel is less than five minutes walk from the central train station. That makes it about 20 minutes from the airport if you make a good connection (trains to the airport run about every 15 minutes). It's plain, clean and close to the downtown area as well. As long as the girls outside the door who want to "party" don't bother you […] too much, you will enjoy your stay. I booked the hotel again next month. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Made the best of it"
The hotel is clean, staff is friendly and the geographical location is excellent (almost built in the main train station).Breakfast is good, but nothing special. The hotel is properly isolated to the outside, but internal walls are quite thin, so bring earplugs. The neighborhood is quite interesting. It has lots of nice restaurants and other hotels, […] but it also has lots of adult shops and street working girls at night. The good news is: you can just ignore and walk past all this, no one will hurt you. Anyway, I enjoyed my stay, it was very good value for money, and I think I'll be back next time.
