"Rough, needs serious deep cleaning & refurbishment"
What an embarrassment to the Hilton chain! Where do I begin? This hotel is so rough around the edges I'm not sure how it can pass the inspection standards to maintain the Embassy Suites brand name. Virtually every wall, door, piece of furniture and soft furnishing was damaged, stained or scuffed, even the bed skirt! We put towels down on the couch before […] sitting due to the dirt and stains. Paint in the bathroom was peeling, the bathroom extractor fan didn't work, parts of the door were chipped off due to longtime moisture buildup. Walls in the rooms full of scuff marks showing no care in maintaining or attention to detail in cleaning. Sheets didn't fit the bed, so the public comforter would touch you and get entangled with the sheets if you didn't get creative with the folding! Kitchenette looks great in the online photos but cabinets are old and hinges were broken, faucet constantly dripped. Disappointing that no cutlery or crockery is provided. This hotel is old, poorly maintained and is in serious need of a loving facelift. If you can overlook this, then the size and comfort of the rooms combined with a fantastic location 2 blocks from rail links and in the absolute best spot for walking to the sights and business district. Breakfast area is poorly ventilated, our clothing picked up an unpleasant greasy food odor. Elevator slow as addressed in previous reviews. Staff were helpful and kind, particularly the bar staff at happy hour and the gentlemen at the omelette bar. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Affordable with excellent location"
An affordable option that had great rooms, breakfast, and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice suites...cocktails and breakfast fine. Only drawbacks are parking and slow elevators.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place To Stay!"
I was extremely happy with Embassy Suites Center City, Philadelphia. The suite was very roomy and comfortable. It had all the conveniences of home. The complimentary buffet at Fridays was also a great bonus and very good. I had no problem with the elevators being slow. Parking cost was my only problem. It was very expensive to park. Although I had in […] and out privileges with parking my car, I opted to use taxis to get around the city since parking anywhere in the city was an issue. The taxi stand was conveniently located behind the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel was Clean Front Desk Clerks RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The hotel room was clean and spacious. Two days after we returned home I had to call the hotel about holds they still had on my credit card front desk clerk was very very rude and started screaming at me, I was not expecting that !!!!!!!! I also had called the hotel before booking and the clerk who answered the phone then was also rude. If we go to […] Philly again we will not be staying at this hotel. Please accept my sincere apologies for our Front office team members behavior. I am very surprised to hear of that kind of conduct by one of the Front office team members. "Just what we needed!"
I loved the room! My boyfriend and I came to Philly for his singing audition and decided to stay the night. We got it for a great price. Wish we could have stayed longer that one night! But we definitely plan to come back for a longer stay! Highly recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I don't like that I had to pay for wifi and it was super slowGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall a good hotel for the value"
Overall it was pretty good and I will be staying here again. A fair value given the price. I liked having a balcony and the breakfast was good. The room fan was rather loud. Other than that a pretty good hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not planned. Last moment choice."
Excellent. The breakfast was enjoyed by children and myself.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room Ok. this is an old hotel. Mattresses were horrible. must not have changed the mattresses in the last 15 yearsGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Philadelphia Center City Thank you for your feedback regarding the Embassy Suites Center City Hotel. We are a vintage hotel that offers a fantastic view of this beautiful city from the spacious balconies that are standard in every suite. I am surprised you did not enjoy our beds, please accept my apologies.
"good location, watch out for hidden charges"
Good walking loc. on the parkway. great balcony view, manger's reception is cool but when checking out at 8 received a bill from TGIFridays next door, mistakenly charged to my room. Had to wait until 11 am to get it cleared up, with no help from the useless front desk personnel at EmbassyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
On arriving at the hotel the valet parking attendant was extremely rude, after his reception I hesitated on whether I should stay at the hotel or not, but after a long drive my family was tired and I decided to stay. The rest of the stay was ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is very nice however there is not enough closet space _it was less than 2 feet wide. Not enough for more than three winter coats. My son used the pull out bed. The blanket was balled up in a bag along with an empty vodka bottle. Not very sanitary. Also parking is very expensive at $48 per day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We spent just one night in this hotel. It was perfectly nice for what we needed. It was close to the museums that we wanted to see. The free breakfast buffet was a nice addition, but hectic. The service was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"the view from our room was magnificent...."
The hotel was lovely. location was great..it was clean and rooms were very large and the view was wonderful...the morning breakfast was delish.....however, the front desk employee's should take a class in courtesy, kindness and patience....I found them unorganized and rude while I was checking in...I would stay here again but it was a shame that this […] was my first impression of the hotel.... "im coming back"
I stayed overnight for my birthday on a sunday. room was clean, quiet and comfortable. front desk staff was friendly. it would be nice if there were dishes in the kitchen. breakfast service was chaotic and they ran out of some items. I wish there was a pool. overall i would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, but needs updating"
This hotel is not what I expected for an Embassy Suites. For example, the deadbolt on the door did not work and the carpet was worn. When we pulled out the sofa bed, the sheets and mattress pad were damp. Also, the elevators were way to slow - sometimes the wait was 10+ minutes. The wait at the omelette station for breakfast was also ridiculously long. […] The fitness room was out of service while we were there which was unexpected and disappointing. "great deal with breakfast!"
great timeGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was ok. Location was good. But they rent rooms to younger then 25 years, and there were SEVERAL people in the rooms on our floors partying into the wee hours of the night. There was no security checking keys, and we saw many people coming in with pillows, cases of beer and their laundry. It felt like they were running a hostel and not a hotel […] that I wanted to stay in with my children. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice for the price."
We got a great deal on the price so when you add the cost of parking, I think we made out pretty good. The view was great. Location was also convenient. We walked to some of the local attractions. I didn't experience some of the same problems as others as I read in other complaints. Valet parking was prompt with our car. The elevators were not slow. […] The FREE breakfast was just fine and TGI Fridays connected to the hotel was a plus. The only thing the kids did not like was the fact that there was no free wifi. Thank God we took the wii to keep them busy. Otherwise, if I could get the same deal, I would go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tax Tax Tax ………. Fee Fee Fee……….. NOTHING Included"
The location is awesome near the museums. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Beyond that i felt like a sucker. It was the first time in 5 years that the wifi in a hotel was not free. No free music on the cable. Parking was 48 dollars if you did not use the car and more if you did. The room Service was the most expensive TGI Fridays […] that I've ever eaten. "Comfortable overnight stay for the holidays."
My husband and I travelled with 2 children and my mother 12/21/2013 for an overnight stay to enjoy some of the Christmas activities in Philadelphia. Our room was very comfortable with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. The kitchenette was very nice for preparing snacks for the children and the adults enjoyed the complimentary beverages during the managers […] reception. The room was clean although initially there were not enough towels for everyone. The breakfast offered in the morning had plenty of options for everyone both healthy and indulgent. The price for parking was a bit steep in at $48.00 a night for the hotel garage so we self parked at the garage adjacent to the Four Seasons for $22.00 a night. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will return on our next trip to Philadelphia. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The room were nice but..."
The stay was nice. The room was fine and even though my room made quite a bit of noise throughout the night we weren't bothered. The balcony is a very nice touch. There are a few things that I wasn't fond of during my stay. First, I understand that parking is at a premium, but I find their valet service cost to be ridiculous. I parked less than a block […] away for half the hotel's price. Second, the elevators are hit and miss. You might wait 1min or you might wait 10mins. I'm not sure if this is dependent on the floor you're on. I was on the 9th floor. Lastly, I have never stayed in a hotel (of any caliber) where you have to pay for the wifi. "WONDERFUL CHOICE FOR HOTEL!"
I honestly can't say enough about this hotel in regards to nice things. It was spacious, comfortable and the staff was courteous and attentive. In addition, EVERYTHING WORKED like it was supposed to. My only negative would be the set up of the rooms. They have the rooms in a POD like setting or hexagon type of floor plan so the doors are very close […] to each other and you can hear the person next to you leaving or entering (which can seem unsettling if you think like me and think someone is trying to jimmy your door handle). Other than that, the room was very much what I wanted and more. VERY PLEASED with Embassy. Will definitely recommend and go back on my next overnight venture to Phila. "Stayed in the heart of city center!"
The hotel was very helpful from the parking attendants to the front desk. Everyone was very professional and helpful I was impressed. As far as the city view rooms are concerned they do not look out into the square.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel rooms were spacious. The location was at the center of everything. I can walk anywhere in center city. I was close to the food, public transportation, and attractions. The rooms were pretty clean, but there were a small things like finding spider webs between the bed headboard and night stand (creepy). If you are a non-smoker, being placed […] on or above the 25th floor is a big no. The cigarette smell filtered through the vent systems into all the rooms on the 25th to 27th floors. I did not like that, but the staff was kind enough to move us to a room with a great view of Ben. Franklin Parkway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, very expensive parking"
The hotel room was very comfortable and roomy. Even the bed was comfy! The expensive valet parking (only option!) kind of ruined the experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice clean rooms and view of Philadelphia from Balcony. Close to Interstate. The Fridays Restaurant in the hotel was a little dissapointing. The servers were good, but the food wasn't hot, maybe on the cold side. The thermostat was not easy to use.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a nice comfortable size suite. I was not expecting a whole little kitchen, living area, dining, balcony *(view could've been a little better) and a separate bedroom. The room itself was nicer than the lobby and elevator, but we're not sleeping there. Worth the price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"View parades from room balcony"
Our visit was during the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were fortunate to have a balcony overlooking the Thanksgiving Day Parade . The rooms were spacious and clean. The Employees were extremely helpful, especially during check in. Our only concern was the slow elevators. We used the stairs on several occasions. Many of the sites were in walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel rating : our bags packer were removed from the room by the service staff, when we claim we receive only one of them and lost medicines prescribed. I was disappointed in my stay at Embassy suites in Philadelphia. One hotel employee was extremely rude. I had to call the lobby about 3 or 4 times for some trays to be lifted from my room. Eventually after I kept calling back she insisted I leave the trays with food still on them outside in the hallway on the floor. After check in the rooms weren't thoroughly cleaned again. Lastly, one of the elevators must have […] broke for a few hours. Leaving a 20 minute wait to even be able to catch an elevator, being that 10 people were waiting along with me. My room was on the 23rd floor, so the stairs were not an option. On the positive side, the living room was extremely spacious and the balcony view was amazing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Everything was great except the elevators"
We have stayed at this hotel before. It's in the center of the museum district and a great place to be. Comfortable and clean and a good bargain, generally. This time there was a big wedding somewhere nearby and the three elevators were overburdened, so getting up and down to/from our 10th floor room was a pain.
