We booked this hotel only after reading a million reviews, so we knew the rooms would be very small. But, again we only had a day to spend there and needed easy access to the 109 bus from the airport (10 min. walk). During the day we took a Hop-On bus (10 min to boarding stop) on both routes to see the entire city. Everything is near to the hotel, including Hard Rock (if you like those) a typical beer hall, and a very trendy Italian restaurant where you order at a counter with their own debit card and pay as you exit. Excellent choice and food. The hotel itself has a German restaurant that was usually full. Not our kind of food, but they had a reasonable bar. My single room was perfect for me, a woman, traveling alone. It was small and basic, which is what keeps the price reasonable. But in the best area, close to bus and subway lines, right by the shopping street. Safe for evening walking, very clean, helpful reception staff.

I was surprised by the hotel because the price was very cheap. The room was clean and the bed was ok. Wi Fi was good + free. Overall a good experience. Only issue i had was that for whatever reason the staff tried to charge me for the breakfast for each of my 4 nights of stay. I explained i've paid in advance and i decided against breakfast (cheaper […] + i get up late) and that i never stepped foot in the breakfast room during my stay. At this point she made me feel like a criminal insisting i pay for whatever reason. In the end, they sort of just angrily told me to just go and not to worry about it. Being pregnant, I was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable bed. The best part of the hotel was the location. It was walking distance from Kurfurseterdamn (a main shopping and restaurant street) and the zoo. […] The breakfast was plentiful with an assortment of juices, cereals, cheeses, meats, eggs, sausage, yogurts, and bacon. Right off the Ku'dam, and very close to a U-bahn station, my wife and I stayed at the Berlin Plaza. Our experience was very positive: nice hotel, helpful & friendly staff, clean room - albeit a bit small, but not a problem. We were pleased that our room for two had a double bed, and not the European norm of two adjacent single beds. Free wi-fi was also […] one of the reasons for our choice. The in-room safe was spacious enough for a laptop. The location of the flat-screen TV precluded watching while in bed. It was extremely hot during our stay, so the room was not comfortable during the nights, so an air condition would have been appreciated. The surroundings were extremely noisy, as air conditions from other buildings nearby made an awful noise.

The hotel is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, close to tram and underground lines. Very good value with full breakfast. the only drawback was that the wi-fi didn't work with my iphone and the in-room internet service was worse than snail-pace. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Everything was good. Beautiful and varied breakfast. A great place to find the center of western Berlin. The main problem in the summer - No air conditioning in the rooms. Some rooms with balconies, need to ask in advance.

Everything was OK in general. Too noisy in the mornings. You have to pull the doors too hard to close them. The day I left they called a taxi for me but it never got there. Nobody seemed to care. I walked 50 meters to the avenue and got one.

Very disappointed with the type of bed provided. It's smaller than a twin bed with hard cushion or no cushion at all. I used my comforter/bed cover to cushion the bed mattress. My room was next to the elevator and it was a noisy elevator. The elevator is so small, one morning it was not working maybe they were fixing/cleaning, and nobody from the front desk informed the customers. I was waiting until I had to took the stairs. I can not believe this Hotel does not provide a small bottle of lotion, shampoo & conditioner. Even a cheap Hotel in the United States of America will provide the basic necessities. The hotel provided only one towel per day - an old dirty looking towel which needs to be recycled and should be sent to the third world countries for the refugees. Only one pillow provided - a very soft pillow, guys what are you thinking, we are paying the right dollar, why are you treating your customers like this ? I have to ask for a second pillow so I can elevate my head at night. Your hotel is beyond standards. The ladies on the front desk were very pleasant and helpful but the guy who works at night was not so pleasant. The only positive on this Hotel was free WIFI, that's why I choose this Hotel. A very comfortable hotel in Charlottenburg, which is the nicest area of Berlin. I got a very good deal on a four-day stay booking the morning of the day I checked in. The U-bahn is just down the road and Berlin's transport system is amongst the best in the world, so it's very easy to get to other parts of the city. Charlottenburg itself is full of beautiful […] shops and great bars and restaurants. But, as other reviewers have pointed out, it's best to be at least conversant in German to go here as all the staff, including in the attached bar and restaurant, prefer to speak their own language, which is understandable. Luckily I can, and as a result everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The single room I occupied had a comfortable bed and a great bathroom and was very quiet. The hotel is very well located, just off the Kurfeurstendamm and the bus from Tegel airport passed right by, so easy enough to find and just a short walk to the Zoo Banhoff S ban. A pretty good base for a short visit. The staff all speak far better English than the staff in London hotels do and were helpful and courteous. Very friendly staff. Great restaurant with traditional German dishes. Look out for the small 24 hour store oppposite the hotel to pick up a late night or early morning hot drink - very useful as there are no drink making facilities in the room.

The Plaza is a good hotel for a short stay in Berlin, in a quiet street, but near to transport links, restaurants, shops and within walking distance of Tiergarten. Cozy hotel just off the main drag in West Berlin and about a block from the U-Bahn station "Ulandstrasse". The room was small, not too much room around the very comfortable queen size bed.
