I reserved this room at a time in Denton when there would be few rooms available - graduation at the local college - so I can only blame myself. I will give it this - the sheets were washed, there was no hair in the bathtub - it passed my bedbug check. For a place to lay my head for the night, it was OK. However, I would not hang my sweater on the back […] of the filthy recliner in the room, and I would not walk across the carpet without putting on my shoes. While it was a smoking room, due to availability of rooms in town, I did not expect it to smell like an ashtray. I mean BAD - so bad it made a former smoker sick to breathe the air in that room. To rid that room of that kind of odor, they would need to strip the carpet and paint the room. For the only $10 difference, I should have chosen LaQ, even though all they had was a room with two double beds, since this one should have cost only half what the other would have cost, because there is NO comparison whatsoever. The staff member on duty who greeted us was very nice, he even gave my child a free snack and didn't object to me taking her breakfast to our room, even though there was a sign clearly stating not to. My husband and I travel to Denton often so we found this motel its clean the rooms are roomy the pool is nice the service has always been friendly and it has a bed thats actually comfy enough that we dont feel like we are sleeping on a board so..all in all we continue to go back..so we are Thankful for the rates..very reasonable..

The next time that we go to Texas we plan to stay at the hotel. We will be bringing our own towels because the hotel didn't have enough at the front desk and they couldn't get us any. We had to wait until after 9:00 in the morning for towels and this was inconvient for us.

Less than 5 mins. after arrival my son found a butt on the floor of a non-smoking room. There was mold in the bathroom, and in the corner ot the main room. The quality of the coffee was horrible. This place is sinking from used, past scruffy and into depressed.

I typically define a "Value" as something being worth more than what it costs-- I can't say this necessarily applies to this location of this motel chain. I was forced to book this stay last-minute, and over the phone, as I discovered a mistake in my itinerary for a recent trip. The person at the front desk was extremely nice, let me say that up front. However, the lobby television was BLARING a rather inappropriate episode of the Maury Povich show, and that somewhat set the tone for the entire stay. Our room, had it been in proper repair, would probably have been adequate. It looks as if someone is at least attempting to maintain the facility, but that the typical guests are less than helpful in that regard. There were NUMEROUS obvious patches in the drywall, fixtures broken from the wall, the toilet intermittently ran all night, etc. The iron was chained to the wall. With too little of a tether to properly press an entire shirt. Next door is a rather hopping Mexican food restaurant with a live mariachi band on the weekends. The mariachi room is probably 15 feet from the door of the room I stayed in. I could keep going, but that seems unnecessary. My advice: don't book this motel unless (like me) it is your absolute last resort. Read more
