"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"Good mid-price choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.
"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Hotel nice, a bit of a walk to places of interest"
The Ramada Inn was a very nice hotel at a really good price. The hotel staff were friendly and very hepful in directing me to bus and train stations to travel outside of downtown Vancouver. While I had to walk farther to the places I wanted to visit in Vancouver, I did so because the price of the room was signifiantly cheaper than surrounding hotels. […] The room was very nice and comfortable, but had a no view (a brickwall). The location was safe, although I recommend against walking up and down Granville. The adjacent streets are much nicer and have less panhandlers. One of the few hotels in the area to offer free wi-fi. Read more

Wasn't too happy, they put me on a floor still in construction smelled strongly of paint and wallpaper..the window went to some central duct so no fresh air. The walls were so thin and they put a dog on the same floor...without mentioning that to me. None too pleased to be sure

"Great location for what I wanted."
Hotel was conveniently located. There were several eateries in the neighborhood. It was great for the price I paid. I was not particularly fond of the noise from the hall at 6 a.m. but I enjoyed my stay there.
"vacation"
We were very pleased with our stay at this Ramada. It's a restored historic property, which means that a stay here will be a little different from a typical chain property -- the floors creaked a little, and the rooms weren't laid out the way they would be in a new building. I thought the quirks added charm to the experience, though. I was especially […] pleased with the decor of the room and the fixtures in the bathroom. The tub was much better than the ones you find in new hotels; it was great for laying back and relaxing. As for the service, all the hotel staff were attentive and pleasant. They were willing to answer questions and offer recommendations. Read more

"Ramada in Downtown Vancouver, Canada"
I have stayed at a lot of Ramada's around the country and I have to say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. I rented a room for 6 and got a room that the sleeper sofa was sitting in a small area outside the bedroom (2 double beds) with only approximately 6" room between the sofa sleeper getting into the bath room My wife could not enter the […] bathroom and at 8:00pm wwe were al tired and very upset. The staff agrued with me but I was able to get 2 rooms with 2 double beds but during the night the bed was so small and close to the walls I rolled over starting to fall out of bed and got wedged between the wall with the window air conditioner. I got a cramp in my leg trying to get out at 2:00am Monday morning and had to continued pushing myself to the floor and scoot out of the area on the floor to the end of the bed. On top of it all the fron og the air conditioner fell on top of me and I had to get someone to remove it. The hotel is next to a bar and drunken loud individuals screaming at 3:00am talking about cutting this other guys head off and several other profaine comments not very good comments for my grandchildren. Parking has something to be desired also since it looked like a good place to get broken into during the night. I understand someone's car was broken into but luckily not mine. I would not stay at this hotel if it was the last one in town. I would rather stay in my car. I ask your agent about hotels in the downtown area and he recommended it with a view and on the 8th with a view since I wanted to show my grandchildren and daughter how nice a town Vancouver, BC. My daughter is an world renown opera singer and has traveled the world. She was very disppointed with this hotel and since I told her that I used hotels.com to book this hotel she was suprised and said she would be re-considering using your web site for any future accomondations. VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED IS MY VIEW OF OUR STAY. Read more
"Ramada Inn - Downtown Vancouver- Great Location"
We were very pleased with our stay at the Ramada, great location, very friendly staff, they were remodeling/painting the lobby, looks very modern and great, the rooms little a little updating, but very comfortable, very convient to have the sleeper sofa seperated from the beds, large bathroom. Would recommend!
"A last resort"
Pay a little extra and get a far better hotel. Uncomfortable beds, paper thin walls, much road noise, old rooms done up with a few "Band Aids". All staff were very pleasant however and most helpful - it is the hotel and the location, not the staff. I ignored the old guest comments and i now regret that as I should never have chosen this hotel.

"Ramada Inn & Suites in Vancouver"
Do not stay on Saturday nights. 300 young people at nightclub beside the hotel, screaming & yelling until 3am. Hardly got any sleep! Police sirens going off constantly as half a block down the street the entertainment section was blocked off from cars for 4 blocks. Noise level made me think I was at a Hockey game.
"Do not ever stay here"
Do not stay at this hotel. I am a seasoned traveler; in the last 6 months I have spent 33 nights in hotels in 8 different countries around the world and this hotel was the absolute worst. They are right next to a night club, which they do not tell you on the website nor when you check in. The music starts at 10:30pm and ends at 3am. I was on the 5th […] floor and not only did the music wake me up but the bed was actually vibrating from the bass. When I called the front desk the only thing they offered was ear plugs. I have never had such a bad experience, it was worse than sleeping in at a youth hostel in college. When one of only two elevators was out not working I could deal with that, I could put up with the small rooms, I could handle the fact that my ironing board was broken, but put all of that on top of the VERY loud club keeping me up all night was just too much. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and hands down one of the worst hotels in the world. You're better off sleeping in your car. Read more
"Only do it if you're getting an unbeatable price"
This place was awful. Rude staff, our room wasn't clean when we got there (dirty towels left in the room), and the hallways smelled very strongly of paint. We never spend much time in the hotel anyway, and it was in a great location, so it served it's purpose, but if you're looking for a decent place with good customer service, this is not the place […] to go. "Ramada vancouver"
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The car parking lot had been rented out by the hotel so the hotel staff would take the car and park it for you however we were up to 20 minutes waiting to get our car back each time we needed it, rather than being apologetic about this the staff were rude and unpleasant. Hotel was not in a great area. Would not […] recommend it. Read more
"Good deal, but seedy vibe"
Although the lobby to this hotel was nice, the rest of the hotel felt kind of seedy. The hallways smelled like bad takeout and the room we stayed in was tiny. There was a weird stain on the sheets and the club inside the hotel played loud music that pretty much kept me up all night. It's a good location in the sense that you are in the middle of the […] Entertainment District and a close walk to the good shopping on Robson Street, but staying in the Entertainment District also means strip clubs and loud people out until all hours of the night. Inexpensive, but I think the next time I go to Vancouver I'll stay elsewhere. Read more
We loved the hotel, it was in a great location, and right next to all the local clubs and entertainment. The staff was very helpful and the room was great. "An Unpleasant Stay at Ramada Inn Downton Vancouver"
We reserved the hotel because we wanted to make sure to park our car in a safe spot because last time we went to Vancouver our car was broken into. Upon arrival, the Ramada informed us that they no longer had any available parking spots and this was only about thirty minutes after check-in. We had no choice but to park in an overnight insecure parking […] lot similar to the one in which we were robbed. Our room was also directly above a nightclub which thumped techno until 4:00 AM, as well as next to a stair well which was ridiculously loud due to the elevators being out of service. Read more

"Weird TV policy"
The volume on the TV was capped at something like 1/4 the maximum volume. I was unable to hear the news when the air conditioner was on. When I asked to have the limitation on the volume increased, the staff were unhelpful and told me that it was the manager's policy. They also promised to speak with the manager about whether he could change the restrictive […] setting that he put on the TV and get back to me. However, I never heard back from anyone. I ended up watching the news and weather on my laptop. There are a number of bars adjacent to the hotel and so the location might not be the best for families with children. Read more
"Terrible Hotel Service"
This hotel had TERRIBLE customer service. The workers at the front desk were incredibly rude and unprofessional. We stayed for three nights and after the first night, we had to switch rooms due to overbooking. After being relocated, we did not receive any help with our bags and gave they us attitude for not bringing our things. That same day, our card […] expired due to them not checking us in correctly. Our card expired three times during our stay due to the people messing our reservations up. Also, parking is virtually non-existent. The lot was extremely small, consisting of only about 20 parking spots. Many of the guests were forced to park in the middle, blocking cars on both sides of the lot. Even finding parking in the middle was a challenge, especially when parking in the evening. The room itself was small but comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning our room. However, they did not renew our used glasses. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. Due to the horrible customer service, we did not enjoy our stay at all. Read more

"Handling the lost thing"
Manager was very helpful to arrange for what my daughter left in the hotel in Banff, and was not sent to Ramada Inn and Suites by the time when we arrived as my daughter had arranged, to be sent to the hotel surely by the time I leave for home in USA, since my daughter had to leave before the new, expensive cell-phone can arrive. Disappointedly, I was […] told it did not arrive on the day I had to leave. I will save my big appreciation to the manager until it surely arrives at my daughter. Read more
"Ramada Inn and Suites in Vancouver"
The Ramada was in amidst the bustle of Vancouver. Too bustling as nightclubs line that particular stretch of granville. One block over would help avoid the drunks. Cleanliness of hotel is okay but wouldn't recommend it. Paid extra for a suite to accommodate 2 kids and room with pull out couch (loveseat!) was tiny. No room for 4 people to sit down. No […] bath, no bar fridge, etc. May as well have paid for ordinary room. Don't bother. Read more

"Ramada Inn on Granville Street in Vancouver, BC"
The location of this hotel is very good. It was close to the metro station, bus lines, Granville Island, Stanley Park, and nightlife. Inside the hotel was quiet. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The soap - sugared citrus scented - was excellent. There is only one computer in the lobby, and it always seemed to be in use. "Ramada Inn & Suites Granville St Vancouver,BC"
Very convenient to many attractions and great places to eat. If you like to walk, there's no need for extra transportation but there are many opportunities to also take a guided tour or rent bicycles to ride around the park. We loved our tour of Stanley Park in the horse drawn trolley where we had a terrific and funny guide named Edna. The hotel is […] older and our room only had two windows and only the small one in the bathroom opened. The room had a small closet and with a king size bed, not much room to move around. For us it was fine as we were gone all day and only in the room for the evenings after dinner. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Very good food in the pub downstairs, and our waitress remembered after two days what we liked to drink after serving us only one drink on our first night there! Good hotel if you're looking for convenience to the sites and restaurants. Read more

"Good Staff"
My current stay was very enjoyable. The staff is what made the difference. The rooms are very small, but very clean. The staff was very helpful when I needed a resturatnt recommendation and any of the other thing I asked. They truly made up for the small rooms.
"Ramada Inn and Suites Downtown Vancouver"
This is my third stay and I like the location. It's close to the things I wanted to do and see. Located very close to public transit, with pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms have been redone since last visit. Also you can get to restaurant/bar without going outside.
"Great Value and Location"
Had a room overlooking Granville Street which is no problem unless one is an extremely light sleeper. The Ramada is withing easy walking distance of everything a tourist could want--restaurants, sights, bus lines, train station, etc., etc.
"Great location!"
The hotel is located in a great location that is close to everything within walking distance. The room was a bit small but livable and still comfortable. There is a club right below that pumps the beat til the early morning. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear it thumping but not to the degree of annoyance in my opinion. For the price, it was great […] and would return and recommend to others. Read more
"Good room for the money"
When I travel I like to get that combination of the best quality for the lowest amount, the Ramada Inn and Suites in Downtown Vancouver met all of my expectations. "Great room for the money"
This hotel is in a good location. I was able to walk to most of the sites. There is a great bar/restaurant on site. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
"Staff Great"
Staff really make the stay worthwhile. The paint in the room was ugly brown, but I left that info for management on their info card. They are improving the area for the Olympics I guess, it will be better by the end of the year.
"Needs improvement"
Overall not a bad place. A little run down but great location if you want to be in the heart of downtown but be aware it may get loud. Front desk person was great and helpful. Also if you have a rental car I recommend parking on the street because it is free.
"Seedy hotel, with a disco under our room"
We were rented a room in a suite that should never be open to the public. From midnight- 4 am, we were treated to a disco under our room. The staff was sympathetic, but since they were full, there was nothing they could do. This room should never have been rented to anyone. This is a rundown hotel in a less than nice part of town. Because of this experience, […] I will never stay at another Ramada Inn anywhere, ever again. Read more
"Old Ramada"
I wasn't expecting this hotel to be so old. It was clean but the rooms are very small and the elevators sway. Coffee maker outlet didn't work. Front desk people were pleasant but indifferent. Parking is practically non-existent. All in all it was ok but no great experience. I wouldn't recommend it.
"great staff, nice room"
convenient to amenities downtown, transit, restos, local grocery store - room had a mini fridge and microwave. Staff was friendly, helpful and prompt, and I received a free room upgrade! Room itself was well-appointed, lots of towels etc. and was very quiet considering the downtown location. I highly recommend it!

parking next to hotel cost 20 dollars a day they wanted to drive my car to off site location when lot got full people at the front desk were rude and not helpful the tiolet didnt work for two of the three days no sort of refund offered terrible experience wont return
"You get what you pay for"
I originally booked this hotel through my work for a business trip. It was a good price. However, there was nothing on the website when we booked about a $250 deposit as a non-smoking guarantee. When I got to the hotel, I did not have the deposit and there were not going to allow me to stay, even though I had some cash as a deposit and am not a smoker. […] I had even called the hotel earlier to double check on my registration as I was coming in late, and there was no mention of this policy. Normally a deposit is not an issue, but my credit card was maxed and I was not expecting it. It took 20 minutes of "arguing" with the clerk before I could finally convince him to let me stay. The room was on the 3rd floor and all night there was banging, yelling, arguing, commotion outside the room - it sounded like construction all night. The next morning on checkout, I went down to the front desk and they gave me my cash deposit back. However, no one went to my room to check and see if I had actually smoked in the room. The policy was bogus. Read more
