Leafy Ballsbridge is a quiet and exclusive residential area, a 20-30 minute walk into town (served by frequent buses). The Grand Canal flows through it, and while much of this waterway is less than grand, there is a pleasant stretch near the Richmond Street bridge with canal-side pubs. George Bernard Shaw’s birthplace is a popular neighbouring attraction.

Staff very friendly and extremely helpful and attentive, from the minute we arrived and till the moment we left, from front desk to room service, cleaners to bar staff, friendly, polite, and there was nothing to much trouble. A 5-10 miute walk from the bars and shops, but tucked away to be away from it all.

We stayed at this hotel for one night to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury! When we arrived at about 12.30 our room wasn't ready which was expected as check in is at 2. However, it was a chance to sit in the outside bar area and enjoy (an overpriced but very nice) cocktail. We also had lunch in the restaurant which again was lovely albeit expensive. The hotel itself is lovely especially the outside terrace to which we retreated to finish the wine we ordered with lunch. Staff were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay without any of the snottiness you can so often encounter in boutique hotels these days. The room itself (a style room) was very stylish and understated. My boyfriend absoultely loved it but I wasn't as enthused with the decor as it wasn't particularly feminine! So more a treat for the husbands than the wives! The ipod with music and docking station was a nice touch. The room was spotless and the shower was nice. Overall the look and condition of the hotel was very luxurious and relaxing at the same time. I felt relaxed and at home here. I would definately recommend it for a treat and the only downside are the exorbitant drinks/food/room service prices which means unless you really don't have a care in the world about money you will find it difficult to satisfy your every whim here! Saying that I would stay here again.

We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, and wanted somewhere special - that's what we got with dylan (very trendy lower case name!!) - extremely modern, great service, wonderful extras - we loved the iPod & dock, loaded with a good selection of music! The only minor quibble was that our room overlooked the bar terrace at the front, and the last customers didn't leave until nearly 2am - serves us right for going to bed early!!!

What a fantastic hotel! The decor is wonderfully theatrical and no expense has been spared. Lots of clever touches like under-bed lighting to light your way to the en-suite should you need a visit in the night! The staff were exceptional. They went out of their way to help. Lovely heated, candle lit patio courtyard. The restaurant was fantastic. If you stay here then don't miss it. Free wi-fi and very easy to connect. That makes all the difference to the business traveller. Don't miss the opportunity of staying here!

The dylan is a perfect weekend retreat. From the charming staff to the stylish and comfortable decor. It was pretty close to bliss all around. I didn't get the chance to eat in the restaurant but did enjoy a huge and delicious cooked breakfast in my lush room. I was hugely impressed as was my 10 year old daughter who is a 5* fan now!

Stayed for just one night and felt truly looked after. Staff throughout the hotel were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend the restaurant. Décor was flawless, from heated flooring in the bathroom to a idock system in the bedroom. Only potential problem would be that it is a little way from the centre of town, but is still only a 20min walk. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough

The Dylan was our favorite of the three hotels we stayed in during our trip to Ireland. The staff was very nice and helpful, the hotel was pristine, the decor was fabulous, and it was in easy walking distance of pretty much everything we wanted to see in Dublin. The room service menu was delicious, and the room service attendants were very gracious and friendly. If you drive yourself to the hotel, you can either park on the street in the immediate vicinity, but only during the evening hours. Otherwise, the hotel valet service is available for you, and the 20 euros per day is standard for all-day parking anywhere in Dublin. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Dublin area.

I read the reviews at this web-site in making my choice, and found that it was a very reliable place to stay, with nothing to complain about. It was nice on all fronts, but certainly not as "cool" or "hip" as I would have thought from the reviews though. I don't know if it was due to the down economy or if there was something else going on in the past, but it was pretty quiet at all times of day. The hotel staff were very helpful, though didn't have good information to guide me in my quest to use public transit to get around. I would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed in a number of luxury hotels in the past, but BY FAR this is the best hotel I have EVER stayed in anywhere in the world. It's incredible. We stayed in the "standard" room and it looked and felt like the most premium room we have ever stayed in. The staff are exceptional - cannot do enough to help you with anything - always courteous, always friendly - I can't rate them highly enough. The room is amazing - very high spec (iPod, flat screen TVs, marble bathrooms, his & hers washbasins, etc.etc.etc.) very clean, very contemporary, wonderful furniture and decor. I am lost for words. The bar is wonderful, well stocked, well staffed, and there is a lovely outside area with heaters, fountains, tiny lights in the flooring, etc. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, there is nowhere finer.

Only stayed one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed The Dylan. Modern and contemporary with great little touches and surprise everywhere. The padded leather lift felt like we were sitting on the settee the wrong way around. TV in our room had terrible picture but fortunately for us we were not there to watch the telly. Great bar and restaurant. The bar seems to be the place to be in the evening, and you could not hear the noise from the room even though we were above the courtyard.

Gorgeous boutique hotel in leafy residential location. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and not at all pretentious or snobby as you may expect of a 5 star hotel. The room was spacious although I was really disappointed that there was no bath tub in the room. This was a romantic break and for the rate the room, I would expect a bath tub. A 15 minute walk gets you to Grafton Street for shopping so ideally located.
