"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Excellent, convenience to airport was essential.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.
"Would stay there again"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Room was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation

"Skip the breakfast!"
Really bad quality. The eggs seemed to be reconstituted? Juice from a mix; There was a juice machine that you feed oranges into, and it squeezes them on the spot. Fun to watch, but the quality of the oranges were mediocre. All this for a mere 27 euros (2 people). Tip- just down the hill you can get a coffee anf a roll for one euro. Yeah, it is McDonald's, […] but trust me it is the better choice. Read more

"Satisfeito"
OK Hotel. The room was clean, but i a bit small. The rest of the hotel could use an upgrade. Looked more like a 3 star, than a 4 star.. But for the price we payed, it was ok value for our money. The hotel is located about 30 minutes with bus outside the city centre, and about 30 minutes from the airport. A taxi from the airport is about 30-40 euro. […] The hotel offers a shuttlebus to the city centre, it goes 3-4 times a day. Its not free like mentioned in other reviews, but costs 4 euro for a roundtrip. The last bus back to the hotel leaves at nine, so if you want to stay longer you need to take a cab, wich costs about 25 euro. The swimming pool is a bit small, but clean, and you can borrow towels. The people at the front desk was not the most pleasent ones, didnt give away alot of smiles. The breakfast is ok, but the dinner buffet is really bad. It costs 18 euros, drinks not included, and the selection is really poor. Some antipasti, one pizza and one type of pasta. Eat dinner in the citycentre instead. Read more
Read more
"Recommendable hotel a bit outside of the city center"
Holiday Inn Rome West was very nice, clean and modern hotel. The best thing was that the hotel had a free shuttle bus several times a day to the city center and back to the hotel because public transportation is available but not very close by the hotel. Hotel had also a nice pool but not open yet in the early June which was a little disappointment […] because some days were very warm. There was also good internet connectivity and public computers available on the lobby area if you don't have your own with you. Staff was very friendly. The hotel has a restaurant but it's not very cheap compared to the ones you can find in the edges of the city center. Overall, very nice and recommendable hotel if you prefer to choose something a bit outside from the city center busyness. Read more
