"Nice facility, requires some work"
Overall my stay was satisfactory. The facility requires some modern updates. The furniture in the room shows obvious signs of wear, as well cable management of the added amenities requires some attention. With a little work this hotel can really shine once again.

"Great Deal!! What Not To Like ?"
It was a great price with a hot buffet breakfast!! It was very quiet, excellent sound proof wall, you would not hear the next door at 06:00 in the morning for shower or toilet flushing!! Lovely staffs, especially in the restaurant, they make you want to come back and stay. Very clean and comfortable beds! Location is close to down town,it is easy for you to go any sides of the city!!

"Decent Hotel, could use some improvement"
The room itself was good, but still had a tube television instead of a flat screen. This was a problem as i had brought along a Playstation and was unable to use it. The bed was also decent, however the pillows were flat. The staff on the other hand were excellent and had no issues at all in that regard. Overall a good hotel for the price.

"Just a tiny winy suggestion otherwise a good place"
Top notch hotel, great service and clean. Just 2 recommendations 1. Tv in room was the old tube kind and a contrast to everything new in the room.Would be nice to upgrade to newer lcd,plasma tvs (roll with the times) 2. Seemed to be running out of items for breakfast hence kept guests waiting.more punctual re stock would be nice

"The friendly staff made for a pleasant stay."
The room was ready when we checked in. Front desk staff were very helpful. The free breakfasts were a definite benefit, with friendly and helpful staff. Room temperature was just right. There was lots of parking available.

Good breakfast, website failed to mention it was only from 7 AM to 9AM. Parking lot was a free for all gong show. TV's in the room were ancient. Bed was comfortable, room over all was clean.

"Misrepresentation at its finest."
The pictures online do not match the rooms. Our floor was stained and dirty looking. The bathroom had black mould in the ceiling tiles and I had to hold the faucet a certain way so it didn't leak all over and flood the counter top. Very disappointing. Also the "free" breakfast was for a 2 hour window only. Figured it would be until check out, like most other places.

"Perfectly fine hotel"
This hotel is a fine hotel. We just stayed overnigt, but it was clean and comfortable. You can tell it is an older hotel that has been updated recently, with some things perhaps yet to do. Our room was clean and comfortable and all of the staff we encountered were friendly.

We enjoyed our stay, as other reviewers have said the hotel needs a refresh, with an old TV and mattresses that were probably at 'end of service life' but still comfy. The pool and atrium area is pleasant, I enjoyed just sitting on a bench outside my room in the evening after the pool was closed. Hot tub could use an update to be a 'proper' hot-tub with seats. Breakfast was very good, hot and nice variety.

"For Family or Business Hotel"
I had read a few reviews before reserving my room, choosing the Red Deer Lodge based on the reviews. The reviews cautioned the reader to look past the exterior of the hotel (needs a facelift). If you do, you are pleasantly surprised by its interior. It lived up to my expectations. The room was clean. The beds extremely comfortable. The staff so professional and helpful. Our reservation, booked online, had been inexplicably, accidentally cancelled. But upon arrival, the staff did everything to accommodate us and provide us with the room we had originally booked online. Our reservation included the complimentary hot breakfast. The selection would satisfy any palate. The offerings included fresh fruit, yogurt, dry cereal (for the kids), waffles, french toast, pancakes (on weekends) sausages, toast and juice, coffee, tea, milk etc. The restaurant's supper menu offered something for everyone. On Friday and Saturday evenings, a buffet is offered that seemed to be very popular with the town residents as well as the guests of the hotel. The restaurant's atmosphere was very relaxed and the layout offered dining privacy, yet remaining cozy. And for those with a discerning palate, the menu states that if you desire something not listed on the menu, they will make it, provided they have all of the ingredients. Not many restaurants I've been to, are willing to make a dish not on a menu! I will recommend this hotel to anyone who may be travelling to Red Deer.

"A gem right in the middle of town!"
This older hotel was THE best as far as friendliness, comfort, with nice rooms and a terrific hot buffet in the morning. Hard to beat this. Very economical off season. The friendliest people in Red Deer must be all employed at the Red Deer Lodge. Beautiful foliage surrounds the Dining Room gives it a cozy and tropical atmosphere, especially in the winter.

The Hotel is dated and could use a little face lift inside and outside. They have updated some of the furnishings in the rooms, however the bathroom is in rough shape. The towels were tattered and would make good cleaning rags. Overall the room, lobby and hallways were very tidy. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful.

"Convenient location"
We picked this hotel because of the location. The hotel seemed a bit dated and the carpets definitely need updating as there are what appears to be oil stains all over. The room itself (except for the carpet) was clean. Free breakfast was wonderful. I am gluten intolerant and they provided me with a hot, gluten free breakfast. It was wonderful. The staff were excellent. Would stay here again.

Great place to stay. Does need a little updating. Carpets getting old and grubby in some parts. Still have older smaller bulky TVs but that's esthetics! Breakfast is great. They have a salt water pool and is not usually too busy! Stayed there many times. Through hotels.com you can get a tower room for $110 (had coupons from them to make it $94!), so if you bought yourself breakfast at Denny's (min $10), paid $7 to swim somewhere, then the hotel's a steak in comparison to others without the facilities! Friendly and helpful staff!

Red Deer Lodge is well located in downtown Red Deer but is badly in need of updating. Bathroom fixtures are ancient and the room had an old, small, tube TV. The carpets have seen too many travellers. I got the sense that the hotel gave me a shoddy room because I was booked through Expedia.

Just stayed one night for an end of summer hoorah, and the kids loved it! Not too busy, and we used the pool twice and both times had it to ourselves. Breakfast is much better than the standard continental, and great for our picky eater kids!

Pulling up, I was very disappointed and worried after seeing the condition of the exterior of the hotel, especially the parking lot. The interior and the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it. There was nothing extraordinary about the room - the bed had some broken springs. My daughter really enjoyed everything about the pool area.

The carpet in the Tower section where we stayed was very stained and dirty. Generally the hotel needs upgrading. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioner worked well and was not too noisy. Was pet friendly.

The hotel is too is old and the carpets needs replacement; they stink. The bath tubs need replacement too; when you stand inside it feels like it's going to break. The only thing my kids enjoyed was the swimming pool and breakfast, breakfast was wonderful but the dinners were awful.

The rooms were not completely clean there was garbage behind desks. The service was great. Loved the breakfast buffet included with our room, but you gotta get up early it's only between 7-9am.
