Our family had a great stay at the DW Inn. Food was excellent and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Really a top notch place. The bed was very comfortable. Some renovation was occurring while we were there. We can't wait to return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"We will Be Back"
We had a very nice room on the first floor facing the entrance. The have high quality, all washable bedding (no bedspread) with choice of pillow firmness. Evening turn-down service with chocolates on the pillow was also part of the experience. Excellent products especially the lotion. Bathroom was small but adequate. HD cable TV - no microwave or mini-fridge […] (not a motel). Kurig with coffee pods for pre-breakfast stimulation. We will be back. Breakfast was mostly paid with a $15 voucher in a beautiful dining room with huge floor-to-ceiling (and then some) windows. The food and service were top notch. The dinner in the same room was OK for food but the setting and service were just as great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely Atrium Dining Area"
A pleasant place to stay. Their atrium dining area is lovely. Only downside was that I got a $15 credit for breakfast...but the dining area didn't open until 8, which doesn't work for a business traveler.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovable and worn just like "The Velveteen Rabbit""
During my stay, the hotel had to repair plumbing and shut off the water from 11:00 - 3:00 pm. The first room that I was assigned to (Room # 10) in the Jarves building was located at the end of a hallway, next to an elevator, and outside door exiting to parking as well as across from a stairwell to the 2nd floor. (Had a funny odor too) Since the room […] keys are traditional metal and linked to a brass room number, I already knew the sound of guests jingling to and from their rooms would be an issue for a light sleeper as myself. Hotel management was gracious and put me in another room further down the hallway. My overall impression is that this Inn has a lot to offer, but could use a facelift. Reading from other reviews about the walls being "thin", I brought along ear plugs as well as a spa sound machine to drown out the sounds of snoring, etc. I'm so glad that I was prepared! My heating unit had a metalic rattle when in use, and I did experience the lack of sound proofing as reported. But- the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping was wonderful, they are generous with clean towels and bottled water. All in all, I would stay here again, yet ask for an upgraded room since the benefits far outweigh the negative. Unless you stay with a private summer rental (not always possible in the off season) there are just two large facilities in Sandwich to accommodate- Daniel Webster is one (the other is a typical motel where each car sits outside each motel room...) "Friendly, helpful staff, boring location"
When I booked it I didn't have a clear idea about where I would like to stay in Cape Cod. Sandwich is not that close to the beach. We did see the glass factory, which was interesting. The Inn was pleasant and well-maintained, but hardly luxurious and disappointing for the price. Also, we arrived at about 5 p.m. on a weekday and the spa was closed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Inn and Spa was a nice hotel in the middle of the quaint town of Sandwich. Their gardens, pool, restaurant were very nice. Room was a good size, comfortable mattress, cozy space. The service could have been better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed over for the weekend of July 4. The hotel is not actually a 4 or 5 stars. It is an average hotel not close to anything. You will need a car to travel to any town. The hotel is in the sub. However, the hotel service is excellent, but the hotel restaurant is overprice and the food is average.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful setting that needs a little TLC"
What the facility lacked was more than made up for by the staff. Both the front desk and restaurant were lovely. The setting is beautiful and the gardens are lovely. The upkeep of both the building and the pool could use a bit more attention but are OK. This is a nice place to stay if you are looking for a "village" experience. Unfortunately it is at […] the beginning of the Cape so you have to be willing for drive a bit to visit most of the other areas on the Cape. I would prefer to be closer to the beach and other small towns. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Historical Inn within a Charming Town!"
I was very impressed with the The Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa! It was so charming, and the grounds were beautifully decorated. It was very quant, and the room was very well thought out with great attention to detail. I enjoyed reading the history of the Inn which was posted in various parts of the inn, and in the info book in our room. The coffee in the […] room tasted great, and the chocolates at turndown were delicious! At check-in, we were given a coupon for $15 off breakfast, which goes a long way since the breakfast prices were reasonable. The dining room for breakfast was so relaxing and a delight to wake up to. It had glass walls looking onto the gardens, and 2 beautiful chandeliers. I highly recommend this inn as your gateway to cape cod. The town of Sandwich was so charming and fun to spend a few hours in before we took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Inn old and in need of urgent modernisation."
Sadly, with 11 nights in the USA, the 2 nights here at The Dan'l Webster were the only disappointing ones - and it was out last 2 in the states. The Inn is old and in need of a thorough upgrade and modernisation. I can understand that many will like the idea of 'traditional' décor but what is there is just old and the many patterns clash. There are […] cracks in the walls and ceilings and the majority of paintwork needs redoing. The whole place has an old and stuffy feel about it. On the positive side, the reception staff are very helpful but sadly I cannot say the same for the dining room, or the food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is an old country inn and we were aware of this when we booked. We were greeted very well and allocated room 70. This is a room at the back of the property overlooking a densely wooded area which made the room extremely dark. The main issue however was the bed. The mattress must have been at least 3 feet off of the floor and given it was […] a fourposter bed with a canopy looked more like a great big bunk bed. My wife is 5 feet 1 inches tall and the top of the bed came up to the top of her waist. it was impossible for her to get on or off of the bed with ease and the step ladder which was provided would not have been much good when going out to the loo during the night. In fairness we asked for a new room which we were allocated immediately and if we had been given that room to start with we probably would have felt more positively about the Hotel. "Worst Matress I've ever slept on!"
04/23/15 Lauren Z Hudson, Massachusetts
Not the picky type but compelled to write this review because wow terrible mattress, my husband and I both woke up with stiff necks and backs. He was pacing back in forth in the room we both couldn't sleep. Theres nothing worse than not getting a great nights sleep. We left at 2am to drive 1:15 min home to be able to wake up in our own comfy bed. Sad because great dinner beautiful room but what really makes this review bad is that I called the general manager and told him just because I'm shocked a cute and somewhat pricey Inn like this doesn't have awesome beds. (im sure some rooms do) He was very nice said he would check it out and call me back and do something for us. But he never called back. So this review is well deserved. Very unprofessional. There was a problem and instead of making it right you make it worse, nice job. WIll never recommend.
"Nice Hotel with history"

We stayed here for 3 nights while traveling Cape Cod areas. The room we had was above the main building and was very nice well appointed and very comfortable, the only concern was the 4 poster bed was so high you could have done with a ladder to get on it, if you ever fell out you would definitely break a leg or an arm or worse. We ate dinner in the hotel each night we preferred to eat in the Tavern rather than the formal dining room as it had more atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and well presented as all the food was. Some of the restaurant waiting staff were better than others with level of service and attention, with these prices service should be impeccable at all times. Nice touch between 3 and 5pm coffee and cookies served in the lounge. Would definitely stay here again if in Sandwich.
"Nice stay in a lovely area"
04/19/15 ACLA30 New Orleans, Louisiana
I stayed in one of the regular rooms while in town on business. This is not a modern hotel, which is part of its charm. The room was nice enough. The only thing I did not care for was that the TV would just randomly shut off when you were watching something. Although there is not a gym onsite, the front desk will provide you a pass to a very nice gym just a few minutes down the road. There is a spa adjacent to the hotel. The treatments are good and at reasonable prices. There is also an onsite restaurant. I did not dine in the restaurant, but I had breakfast from room service, and the food was good and the service was quick. If I should have to return to the area again, I would stay here.

we stayed here for our 10th anniversary and were very pleased. we booked a deluxe corner room on the second floor of the main house and it was spotless and spacious with a canopy bed. I had flowers delivered to the room and they were a big tada when we entered!. after a day of exploring the town we had dinner in the conservatory dining room at the inn. I had the prime rib and it was prepared perfectly as was the swordfish that my wife had. we both got the "demi" size meal and the portions were fine for both of us. service was excellent and prompt. the massages at the spa were very relaxing and the masseuses did an excellent job. all in all it was a gerat stay and would definitely go back again.

My wife and I spent anniversary 34 at the Daniel Webster Inn and stayed in one of the Jarvis Suites. Upon arrival the desk clerk were very efficient with our check-in and directions to our suite. When we arrived at our room it was very quaint and cozy with the corner fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. The champagne and chocolates along with the added vase of roses were a lovely addition to the experience. Dinner that evening was prime rib which was perfectly prepared and more than enough for any appetite. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful in making our dinner decision. After dinner my wife and I walked around the facility grounds, a little cool at night, but what we could see was lovely. Breakfast the next morning in the garden area was another pleasant meal. Sunny, bright and pleasant waiter. Our stay was short but very relaxing the only thing I will do differently the next visit is not order the extra roses. Disappointedly all but three roses lived four days after our stay, not the Inns fault but still a disappointment. Maybe a different florist?
"Romantic Cape Getaway in the Spring."
03/26/15 Anzhie R Agawam, Massachusetts
My boyfriend booked a one night stay at The Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa for my 30th Birthday on March 23, 2015. It was our first time staying at an Inn and we had a wonderful experience staying at this particular one. The Inn itself was very clean and had a warm feel to it. The staff was so pleasant. It seemed like everyone knew that it was my birthday and made sure to make me feel special on my special day. DINING: The tavern was great for lunch and the dining area was a perfect set-up for dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious in both the tavern and the restaurant. The restaurant had flower plants all over and a nice waterfall backdrop from the outside. Very romantic and relaxing. SUITE: We stayed in the Jarves Suite on the second floor. The room was perfect. It included a flat screen TV, a gas fireplace, a king sized bed with memory foam mattress, a romantic whirlpool, heated tile floors by the whirlpool and the bathroom, two spa bathrobes in the closet with an ironing board and iron, a large glass shower, a small fridge, a Keurig coffee machine, a balcony and free Wi-Fi in the room. BEACH PLUM SPA: We had a couples 60 minute Wellness Massages booked for 3pm. The spa was nice. They serve complimentary coffee, tea, or flavored water with crackers and jam in the waiting area. Like all my massages, it was nice and relaxing but ends too fast :)... the masseuses did a great job and were very nice. CONCLUSION: We will definitely come back to this Inn if we are going to stay in the Cape again. Hopefully in the warmer season so we can check out the pool. The nice thing about staying in the off-season is that you don't have to make reservations for dining and it's very quiet thought-out the entire Inn.

My wife and I getaway each year on our anniversary. The Daniel Webster Inn is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend to celebrate together. The rooms are beautiful...we stayed in a Jarvis Suite, that is complete with a fireplace and two person Jacuzzi tub...heated tiles and a double shower. The restaurant is first class....and the atmosphere is relaxing. New England at its very best. Thank you to the professional staff for giving us great memories!!
"Not Too Impressed"

We travel at the same time each year to the Sandwich area for business and my husband and I opted to try out the Dan'l Webster Inn. I was not impressed with our Room 68, very out dated. The air quality I felt was very poor, in fact, we both left with full blown cold symptoms :( When we put the heat on, it was VERY VERY loud, fanned out hot air and then switched to blowing out cold air, so we decided to just shut it off completely. We have visited the dining room before and always enjoy the service, the food, enviornment, etc. Go for the early evening dinner specials!! Breakfast was delicious and beautiful in the Solarium room. Most of the workers here were very friendly but our waitor at breakfast was a big boob. I watched friendly cheerful waitresses and waitors chatting with their customers, but ours didn't even engage, didn't ask how things were, how our stay was, if we needed anything?? It was odd.... All in all, we will not return again to stay, but definatley to enjoy a nice meal :) We will keep seeking out little B&B's in other towns.

This was our third time staying at this hotel. Second time in a Jarvis suite. The service is always warm and friendly. The room was neat and clean. We stayed in a Jarvis suite. We loved the double shower, the whirlpool tub and the heated tiles. So many very nice extras. The only thing we did not like was the large window towards the hall. (the first time we stayed this was also a problem) The curtains do not block the light, the first night we did not sleep well. The second night my husband put blankets over the window which made the room darker. Love the hotel but probably would not choice those suites again. (We did talk to them at checkout and they said they would check it out, no one has complained before.)This stay we had a couples massage, that was wonderful. This is a perfect place to go for a romantic getaway!!
