Had a great time at the Daniel Webster Inn. Sandwich is a cute town with plenty to do for kids. Staff at the Inn was very pleasant and complimentary coffee and cookies in the afternoon was a nice touch. Pool was really nice too and breakfast at the restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced for a hotel.

Our family had a great stay at the DW Inn. Food was excellent and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Really a top notch place. The bed was very comfortable. Some renovation was occurring while we were there. We can't wait to return!

We had a very nice room on the first floor facing the entrance. The have high quality, all washable bedding (no bedspread) with choice of pillow firmness. Evening turn-down service with chocolates on the pillow was also part of the experience. Excellent products especially the lotion. Bathroom was small but adequate. HD cable TV - no microwave or mini-fridge (not a motel). Kurig with coffee pods for pre-breakfast stimulation. We will be back. Breakfast was mostly paid with a $15 voucher in a beautiful dining room with huge floor-to-ceiling (and then some) windows. The food and service were top notch. The dinner in the same room was OK for food but the setting and service were just as great.

A pleasant place to stay. Their atrium dining area is lovely. Only downside was that I got a $15 credit for breakfast...but the dining area didn't open until 8, which doesn't work for a business traveler.

During my stay, the hotel had to repair plumbing and shut off the water from 11:00 - 3:00 pm. The first room that I was assigned to (Room # 10) in the Jarves building was located at the end of a hallway, next to an elevator, and outside door exiting to parking as well as across from a stairwell to the 2nd floor. (Had a funny odor too) Since the room keys are traditional metal and linked to a brass room number, I already knew the sound of guests jingling to and from their rooms would be an issue for a light sleeper as myself. Hotel management was gracious and put me in another room further down the hallway. My overall impression is that this Inn has a lot to offer, but could use a facelift. Reading from other reviews about the walls being "thin", I brought along ear plugs as well as a spa sound machine to drown out the sounds of snoring, etc. I'm so glad that I was prepared! My heating unit had a metalic rattle when in use, and I did experience the lack of sound proofing as reported. But- the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping was wonderful, they are generous with clean towels and bottled water. All in all, I would stay here again, yet ask for an upgraded room since the benefits far outweigh the negative. Unless you stay with a private summer rental (not always possible in the off season) there are just two large facilities in Sandwich to accommodate- Daniel Webster is one (the other is a typical motel where each car sits outside each motel room...)

When I booked it I didn't have a clear idea about where I would like to stay in Cape Cod. Sandwich is not that close to the beach. We did see the glass factory, which was interesting. The Inn was pleasant and well-maintained, but hardly luxurious and disappointing for the price. Also, we arrived at about 5 p.m. on a weekday and the spa was closed.

Stayed over for the weekend of July 4. The hotel is not actually a 4 or 5 stars. It is an average hotel not close to anything. You will need a car to travel to any town. The hotel is in the sub. However, the hotel service is excellent, but the hotel restaurant is overprice and the food is average.

What the facility lacked was more than made up for by the staff. Both the front desk and restaurant were lovely. The setting is beautiful and the gardens are lovely. The upkeep of both the building and the pool could use a bit more attention but are OK. This is a nice place to stay if you are looking for a "village" experience. Unfortunately it is at the beginning of the Cape so you have to be willing for drive a bit to visit most of the other areas on the Cape. I would prefer to be closer to the beach and other small towns.

I was very impressed with the The Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa! It was so charming, and the grounds were beautifully decorated. It was very quant, and the room was very well thought out with great attention to detail. I enjoyed reading the history of the Inn which was posted in various parts of the inn, and in the info book in our room. The coffee in the room tasted great, and the chocolates at turndown were delicious! At check-in, we were given a coupon for $15 off breakfast, which goes a long way since the breakfast prices were reasonable. The dining room for breakfast was so relaxing and a delight to wake up to. It had glass walls looking onto the gardens, and 2 beautiful chandeliers. I highly recommend this inn as your gateway to cape cod. The town of Sandwich was so charming and fun to spend a few hours in before we took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard.

Sadly, with 11 nights in the USA, the 2 nights here at The Dan'l Webster were the only disappointing ones - and it was out last 2 in the states. The Inn is old and in need of a thorough upgrade and modernisation. I can understand that many will like the idea of 'traditional' décor but what is there is just old and the many patterns clash. There are cracks in the walls and ceilings and the majority of paintwork needs redoing. The whole place has an old and stuffy feel about it. On the positive side, the reception staff are very helpful but sadly I cannot say the same for the dining room, or the food.

This hotel is an old country inn and we were aware of this when we booked. We were greeted very well and allocated room 70. This is a room at the back of the property overlooking a densely wooded area which made the room extremely dark. The main issue however was the bed. The mattress must have been at least 3 feet off of the floor and given it was a fourposter bed with a canopy looked more like a great big bunk bed. My wife is 5 feet 1 inches tall and the top of the bed came up to the top of her waist. it was impossible for her to get on or off of the bed with ease and the step ladder which was provided would not have been much good when going out to the loo during the night. In fairness we asked for a new room which we were allocated immediately and if we had been given that room to start with we probably would have felt more positively about the Hotel.

"Lovely Historic Inn"
06/30/15 K G Clermont, Florida
We highly recommend a stay at this wonderful historic inn. The atmosphere is rich in decor and complete with New England spirit. The restaurant afforded us a delicious meal in the most attractive atrium dining space with views of a waterfall gently falling into a Coy Pond surrounded by lush vegetation. Beautiful scenery; very well prepared food offerings; and very skilled wait staff created a memorable dining experience. The gift shop was very interesting and filled with quality items. With attentive and respectful staff, one cannot go wrong staying at this lovely inn.

"Perfect location for expoloring the Cape Cod region"
06/24/15 Bob R Ballaugh, United Kingdom
This was our first visit to the Cape Cod region and found the hotel to be the perfect base for travelling around. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to assist whenever they could. We dined in both the conservatory and the Tavern experiencing the same high standards in both. Breakfast in the conservatory was an ideal start to the day.

"Wonderful Birthday"
06/23/15 Jeffrey O Hartford, Connecticut
I planned a surprise birthday party for my wife on June 6. The Inn suggested the Jefferson room, a comfortable, private boardroom that easily seated 10 adults and 2 children. Food from the regular lunch menu was great - everyone was happy with their selections. The waitress was great; patient with our slow-moving party and the variety of things we asked for. Could not have asked for a more memorable, fun celebration.

I recently held our sandwich school ship awards breakfast at the Daniel webster. This was our first time using them and it won't be our last. The coordinator was so accommodating, and worked with us on the decor and menu. The food was outstanding as well the service. If you are planning a business function I highly recommend you consider the Daniel webster.

In May, we had our 50th Wedding Anniversary Event at the Dan'l Webster Inn. It was FABULOUS! Everything was more than we expected... from the flawless coordination, to the lovely room, excellent service, scrumptious food, excellent harpist, and gorgeous cake! Thank you Dan' Webster Inn, Bethany, and all who serviced our guests. We could not be more pleased or have chosen a better option for our very special day! We are still getting compliments. We had a wonderful lunch here in this historic property. The service staff were top notch and the food was excellent. "The devil is in the details"
06/11/15 HaymarketCat Haymarket, Virginia
Next time, I'll just save the money and stay at an actual motel instead of a hotel that thinks it's better than it is. Most disturbing are the windows facing into the hallway in the Jarves "suites". Comfortable bed, but bizarre, unattractive decor. Shower is huge, but there is nowhere to put toiletries, just a cheap wire rack that slips and spills everything onto the floor. The windows next to the bed facing the hallway eliminate all hopes of privacy and the curtains allow light in. Are they even hospitality grade? This place annoys me because they have no competition. There is inadequate sink and vanity space, while the oversize shower wastes a lot of space in the bathroom. I REALLY resent that this is the best place to stay in Sandwich and they just take my money without delivering quality. They need to pay attention to details. They also need a professional decorator who has actually been off the cape and has some exposure to nicer hotels. Blue is so over and has been since the 1970's.

"Nice but not great"
06/07/15 DawnRBoch Waterford, Connecticut
My husband and I spent the night at Dan'l Webster Inn while attending a wedding in Plymouth, MA. We chose the Inn based on previous reviews and wanting to stay on the Cape but not too far from Plymouth. We paid a lot for the 1 night. I thought we'd get a room with a hot tub but that was not the case. The room is well decorated. Loved the tole painting on the walls. However, the mustiness of the room was very prominent and sent my allergies into overdrive. I won't be staying there again. So, if you have a sensitivity to mold, you may want to ask for a room that is not on the 1st floor.

"Just what I was looking for...."
06/04/15 vinomanfla Trinity, Florida
As we traveled the East Coast to parts of New England, I wanted my wife to experience staying in a historical inn. We stayed at a few and the Daniel Webster was the best. Very comfortable, clean room in a good location (as requested) accommodating limited walking ability. We enjoyed dinner and drinks in the active lounge - local regulars as well as guests staying in the inn, which is always a good sign. We had the lobster salad and lobster grilled cheese sandwich plus two lobster (NOT seafood) chowders! Not many places serve lobster chowder and this was KILLER! Brian M. was our waiter and he was on point especially with his lobster chowder recommendation. Nice service as well. Breakfast in the garden room was special as well. Prime Rib Hash and smoked salmon bagel served up by Thomas F who stayed on top with the coffee. The $15 off coupon that came with our room package was a nice touch. Very memorable stay all the way around!
