The Woodstock Inn and Resort is a beautiful inn nestled in the mountains of Woodstock, Vermont. The inn itself is pristine as well as being situated in a charming, historic town. We enjoyed our stay very much, as did our children, who loved the library during evenings to play checkers, chess, and to meet others. We will definitely be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Service was lacking, did not have room ready until 3:45pm even though claimed it was guaranteed by 3pm. Meals were overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Vermont hotel"
The hotel was very convenient to walk to all things in Woodstock. Greta hiking trail vitually right out the hotel's front door. Staff extremely freindly and helpful. Breakfast from The Farmer's Market (about a mile away) was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely hotel with great service and I would return during low season. Rooms were pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Spa is a Gem."
The room was spacious and lovely. Bathroom is large. The hotel restaurant had a fabulous menu. But the best part of our stay was spending an entire afternoon in the beautiful spa before and after our service. The separate quiet sitting/lounging area was very relaxing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this place!"

We came here for New Years (2013) and absolutely LOVED our stay here. I hadn't been in about 20 years, but the rooms were kept very nicely, super cozy. The service is top notch, everyone is very welcoming and helpful. They even cleaned off everyones car when it snowed! The fire is so relaxing to sit around, there are delicious free cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate everyday. Their gym facilities, while driving or long-walk distance, are super nice and clean. This place is so relaxing - their restaurant is also extremely good if you're not in the mood to venture out a few blocks for dinner. I highly recommend staying here!
"Old world charm in Vermont."

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here at this beautiful hotel. The huge log fire as you entered the lobby was very inviting along with the display of dried flowers and pumpkins. The games room was comfortable and well equipped. Our room was delightful with a log fire and cosy bed. The breakfast and dinner were very good indeed and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the beautiful village of Woodstock and guests get free entry into Billings Farm which is well worth a visit.
"Great Location for a Weekend Conference"
Spent an early fall weekend at the Woodstock Inn while attending a small professional conference. Located right on the town green, there is plenty to do wondering around the traditional New England town of Woodstock. Hiking, biking, glass blowing, cheese or maple syrup tasting are only a few of the activities a short drive away. Wonderful friendly staff and top notch accommodations. We had a very large corner room located not far from the lobby but well away from noise and most other guest rooms. A comfortable king-sized bed with a sitting area that included a couch, 2 chairs and a desk. Large well appointed bath. While the style and decor make the inn appear very old, the original was actually torn down and this building built back from the street when a Rockefeller purchased the property in the 90's I believe. While we didn't eat in the restaurants, the food for the conference (breakfast buffet, buffet dinner and sit down dinner) was excellent. The Inn has an off-site spa but we did not use it. Not sure that the outdoor pool was open, but we wouldn't have used it on a cool September weekend.
"Don't miss staying here"

The whole experience was great. The resort is beautiful, relaxing, and well managed. The rooms are clean, well appointed, and inviting. We would come back to the Woodstock Inn and stay longer next time.

We received a warm welcome from the door and reception staff on our arrival. The largest warmth though came from the fire in the entrance lounge which was agreat place to sit and have a pre dinner drink. The room and bed was very comfortable. The hotel is minutes away from the village shops and restuarants. While my wife had a great time at the spa (due to the helpful staff being able to give her an appointment at very short notice) I played golf on the hotel course. I partnered up with a local member which was great as he was able to point me in the right direction (pity my golf wasn't as good as his advice tho). The staff at both the spa and golf course are excellent. The food in the very busy hotel pub was excellent. You cannot book a table in the pub and we turned up at 8.15 and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. We would certainly recommend this hotel for the friendly staff and comfortable surroundings
"Where are the people who give this place 5 stars staying?"
10/16/14 Vivi28 Jacksonvile, Fl
Surely not at the Woodstock Inn. So many 5 star reviews caused me to book this place but I don't get it. I've stayed at the Old Edwards Inn in North Carolina and that place puts this place to shame. The rooms are small and cramped (yes, even the "upgraded" King room with a fireplace.) The bathrooms are old and outdated with electric plates from the 80's that are dirty and smudged. The bathtub in room 102 was filthy and the drain is clogged. We moved to room 112, same problem. Dinner at Red Rooster was ok. Nothing special and very overpriced and we were seated at a table next to to a wine cubbie. The staff and guests proceeded to squeeze between our table and the wall to get to the wine cubbie. It was bizarre and distracting. The internet service in the room is nonexistent. I don't mean slow. I mean, NONEXISTENT. We ordered room service our last morning and were given USED condiments. The jam was opened and had a swipe taken out of it. Ok, maybe that's a little gross but not THAT big a deal but when the waitress returned with a new jam bottle she insisted the first bottle couldn't possibly have been used. Really? I'm not going to argue with you. What possible reason would I have for making that up? To get an extra tiny free jam? Good things: Dinner and drinks at the tavern was better and the spa was delightful, if overpriced. The bell staff were friendly and quick. The phone operator was very friendly too. Overall, I'd give this place a 2.5. Save your money and go to the Old Edwards Inn in NoCo or another nicer property. This one is not worth it.
"Low-key luxury with Vermont charm"
10/16/14 Nauset102 Reading, Massachusetts
Had a very comfortable, enjoyable stay at the Woodstock Inn and Resort over two-nights in late June with my husband, toddler and in-laws. The inn really delivered on my top priorities: comfort, character, convenience and, importantly, "child-friendliness." We appreciated the understated luxury in both the rooms and public spaces, which included some lovely spots to relax (e.g a gorgeous sunroom where tea and great cookies were served every afternoon). We had a nice dinner at the tavern and enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the beautifully designed Red Rooster- service at both was excellent. The pool area is very nice (although a spa/hot tub would be a nice addition). The resort grounds adjacent to the inn are lovely, albeit contained within a small area (but with the village of Woodstock on your doorstep this really doesn't matter). We didn't venture out to the satellite area with the indoor pool, etc., so no comment there. All in all, I highly recommend the resort, in particular to young families who might feel uncomfortable and/or not be permitted in the smaller inns and B &B's which seem to dominate the area.
"Great New England Getaway"
10/15/14 HappyMommy41 West Windsor,NJ
The town of Woodstock is a quintessential New England town and it is literally a few well landscaped steps away from this charming Inn and Resort. The town has a few cute restaurants and several shops worth your time. And there is excellent walking and hiking to be had within steps of the resort as well. Also, the food at the resort is very good and the lobby and common spaces are attractive. The room, a suite, was a bit disappointing though. As far as size is concerned it was fantastic, I should say that. However, the room was a bit dusty (even though we had to wait for it to be ready for us to go up - so it had been occupied). I am a stickler for cleanliness when I am paying for a top quality room. I also did not like that there was a water ring on the night table and that the desk showed obvious wear beyond what I would have hoped to see. With just a few improvements it would have brought me to score the resort 5 stars - but this bothered me. The worst was that the duvet smelled bad ( B.O.!!)- it kept waking me up in the night and the next day I was given a new one. However, it has been a few months since we stayed there and I have never heard anything from anyone there about my complaint about the quality of the items in the room - so you can expect it to be about the same. Disappointing when you pay so much and stay for a while. Also,I did think they sort of needed someone going all around and checking to make sure all was crisp and clean throughout the common spaces - overly smudged brass on doors and elevators just looks kind of yucky. Anyway, I told the concierge about the duvet, she could see I was unhappy after the fire alarm went off and took the time to ask what else might have gone wrong with my day. This was after having complained to the front desk with no result, and she was WONDERFUL and sent us up cookies and milk and wine and cheese. But then I never heard another word about the room quality or anything and I would have preferred a fresher and cleaner room and no free goodies. I want to end this on an upswing, as I would surely go there again. The Spa is delightful, I indulged myself with a lengthy spa treatment and massage and was glad I did. The pools (inside and outdoor) are both great to have and charming. Plenty to see and do with the benefit of being right in town. Breakfast was huge and top quality as far as buffets go. My expectation would be that the room would be better next time. I am assuming this was an off week and they were full and we got one of the less spiffy rooms. We'll see.
"Absolutely Amazing The That Has Everything"

Big, beautiful, clean, efficient, warm, service, all sum up this Inn. The moment you walk in, staff is smiling, courteous, and helpful. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed, king size beds, big bathroom, great shower, mirrors all over, sleep quiet, TV, and comfortable. There are two restaurants, with bars, food is terrific at each, one doubles as the breakfast room. Breakfast is unbelievable, fruits, special order eggs, waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, juices, breads, teas, coffee, pastries, and much more. Meeting rooms and business center downstairs, Game room, with it's own fireplace. Main lobby has a roaring fire going 24/7 from October to the end of April. There is a tea and coffee room, which at 4:00 PM, cookies are served. They have their own golf course, which is accessed by a shuttle. A fun place to enjoy, relax, have food and drink and be pampered. Vermont has this great Inn, but made special by the staff and the people who live in the area. A very special place. If not should be 5 star.

The front doorman was always attentive and gave a friendly greeting. The lobby has a huge warm fireplace with couches and easy chairs to lounge, read, enjoy quiet conversation or checking the phone messages. There are many areas to sit and enjoy the scenary whether it is on the back porch in rocking chairs or rustic wooden chairs made of tree branches over looking the greens and autumn trees on the hillside or in the indoor glassed area with comfy wicker couches and chairs. The two restaurants offer great food from pub type eats at the Traven to the Red Rooster with its upscale cuisine. I liked that orders from the Traven can be made in the Red Rooster if we decided we wanted a lighter fare than what was offered at the Red Rooster. The rooms are luxuriously comfortable with a sofa and coffee table to lounge. The bathroom had shower gel, shampoo, conditioner in a container with a pump, unlike the usual small single use bottles. The stay was wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable. The location of the hotel was central to shopping, museum, and the Billings Farm. Great location to make day trips.
