The Woodstock Inn and Resort is a beautiful inn nestled in the mountains of Woodstock, Vermont. The inn itself is pristine as well as being situated in a charming, historic town. We enjoyed our stay very much, as did our children, who loved the library during evenings to play checkers, chess, and to meet others. We will definitely be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Service was lacking, did not have room ready until 3:45pm even though claimed it was guaranteed by 3pm. Meals were overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Vermont hotel"
The hotel was very convenient to walk to all things in Woodstock. Greta hiking trail vitually right out the hotel's front door. Staff extremely freindly and helpful. Breakfast from The Farmer's Market (about a mile away) was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely hotel with great service and I would return during low season. Rooms were pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Woodstock Inn - Open for Businesd"
We seldom submit reviews, but feel that it important to recognize the exceptional service that we received at the Woodstock Inn. In just six weeks from the devistation of Irene, the Inn and community have accomplished a miraculous recovery and have returned to the beauty and quaintness that have made th famous. The staff at the Inn went beyond what […] might be expected to make us comfortable. We have a great deal of respect for their efforts on returning to bisiness as usual in such a short time Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Spa is a Gem."
The room was spacious and lovely. Bathroom is large. The hotel restaurant had a fabulous menu. But the best part of our stay was spending an entire afternoon in the beautiful spa before and after our service. The separate quiet sitting/lounging area was very relaxing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I was fortunate enough to attend a meeting at the Woodstock Inn. I say fortunate because my work paid for most of the tab. Normally I would not stay in such a plush place on my own dime. So I lived like a queen for 3 days - the room was spectacular, quiet, comfortable. Initially I was given a slightly noisy room on the 2nd floor over the bar (I suspect there are not too many of those) but I was switched to another without much trouble. Courtney at the desk was especially helpful doing that and planning a nice restaurant for us the next night. The food is delicious and the setting is beautiful. Nice hikes nearby which is what I enjoy doing. The health club is 1 1/2 miles from the inn so we had to drive there, but that was the only downside to the place as far as I can tell. The health club was unbelievable and worth the small effort to get there - pool, sauna, workout machines, tennis, etc. A wonderful visit.

First, we were on an incentive trip with about 4o people in the group. I was pleased about some aspects of this resort, and was disappointed by other aspects. Parking is plentiful and convenient. The resort is in downtown Woodstock, and one may wals to all sorts of venues. The staff was very friendly, and usually accomodating (more on this later). The common areas were plentiful and very nice, with a few tucked away places to sit and read, play on one's tablet or mobile, and/or ponder. The grounds were very well kept, also. Pictures, and such, were well placed and tasteful. However, the rooms were tired (ours had butt ugly furniture) and our first room had severely stained carpet that looked as the stain was blood. We were given a change, then the resort gave that room to another of our group, who arrived later, with the stains still in existence. The bathrooms were very tiny and the shelf on which to place one's toiletries was most inconvenient. The linens were certainly not first class as the sheets and pillow cases were poly/cotton blends. I also put out the card to have them changed on our last day, and it was ignored. For several hundred dollars per day, I really think they should be changed daily with crisp cotton, steam pressed, anyhow. Our pillows smelled slightly mildewed, also. We had to ask for additional toilet paper, our last day, as the maid did not leave an extra. Concerning the staff: most were very friendly with a cheerful greeting. Dennis the fire wood keeper did a yeoman's jobof stocking and prepping the firewood and fire, but one desk clerk who was to enquire about a missing piece of my wardrobe of the people in the room we changed, dropped the ball and never followed through. Luckily, we talked to the people ourselves, by chance, and they did have the piece of clothing waiting for someone to claim it, or they would take it to the desk. I don't think I would pay for a stay here. It just wasn't up to more than mediocre/average for the prices.

There is no task more challenging than finding the right venue for your daughter’s wedding, most especially when it is your only daughter. For us, the Woodstock Inn was the only venue we considered in spite of the fact that it would be the largest wedding held at the inn in many, many years. Large or small, I must tell you that you need not look any further; this is where you want to be. Aesthetically, the Woodstock Inn is located in bucolic Woodstock, Vermont, an area replete with covered bridges, working farms, and many historical properties as well as fabulous hiking trails. As our 230 guests descended on this small town, they were welcomed with open arms and stayed in a variety of places in addition to the wonderful accommodations provided by the Woodstock Inn. If you prefer a smaller inn or an actual home, Woodstock has it all and the accommodations are extremely well-kept and very welcoming. If you are concerned about a destination wedding and the fact you do not live close by, worry not, the wedding coordinator at the Woodstock Inn does a superb job of staying on top of your venue and making sure that even the slightest detail on their end is covered. If you are a small group, you may prefer being inside the inn or if you are a large group as in our case, the inn provides you with an amazing grassy area that can accommodate a very large tent with the backdrop of the many buildings and spa that surround the inn and make it the charming place that it truly is. Perhaps you are hoping for an outside wedding in their lovely garden? Well, so were we but it actually poured rain and in a flash, we were set up in the wonderful Rockefeller Room with a view of the grounds and buildings that was just as aesthetically beautiful as being outside. Once the ceremony was over, our guests were immediately escorted downstairs for a fabulous array of amazing hors d’oeuvres, both served and at stations, while the wedding party was in the lobby of the inn having photos taken. If you choose to go with a tent, the actual decorating of the inside of the tent is up to you but there are fabulous people available to make your tent reflect whatever theme you choose and their floral design skills are amazing. If you prefer not to have a floor in your tent, the grass is so perfect that it is like one big green carpet. And finally, if you are wondering how an inn this size can possibly please so many guests and serve fabulous dinners that are wonderfully presented, worry not, each of our dinner choices were absolutely delicious with all dinners arriving at each table in record time. Their chef can accommodate your every need. You will be beyond pleased and I say that as someone who is a gourmet cook. The wedding cake that is part of the wedding package was divine, moist, and fabulously presented. And if you really like desserts like our family, try their Viennese dessert bar. We gave the Woodstock Inn a perfect ten on all fronts. Those who serve you from the bellman to the bartenders to the servers to our wedding coordinator are caring, competent, and most of all experienced people. The good energy they share with you on your special day is a reminder that the Woodstock Inn can compete with the best of the best because in our opinion they are better than all the rest. The Mahony family extends a huge thank you to everyone at the Woodstock Inn.
"Luxurious and Friendly"

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. We called and got a 3 nights for the price of 2 deal, it is probably worth calling to see what hey can do. All staff were friendly and helpful but we're not obsequious, as they can be at some up market US hotels. The concierge service was especially helpful with lots of well researched info on local walks etc. the outdoor pool and spa are on the main site. The sports club, indoor pool etc is about 1.5 miles away but there is a free shuttle service. Just ask at the desk and voila! We hired good quality bikes from there and set off on a route suggested by the concierge and it was just as described. We ate at The Red Rooster. Excellent high quality food and good service. It is a little more expensive that some of the other Woodstock restaurants but only the Prince and the Pauper is the same quality. Our room was a basic double (with king sized bed) but was roomy with a desk, sitting area and an en-suite with twin sinks. All was clean and well decorated. We were at the front and I wondered about noise but there was no issue. All in all a great place, both Woodstock and the hotel!
"Good, Disappointing, and Poor Experience"

The Good: I’ve been to the Woodstock in several times and it is elegant while holding onto its Vermont roots. I returned this past August to celebrate my dad’s 90th birthday with him. The lobby is gracious and inviting—but our favorite area was a corner with wicker furniture that felt like it was part greenhouse, part English sun room. Perfect for coffees and long conversations. The breakfast was truly one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had at any hotel. The Inn’s location to wander into Woodstock itself is ideal. The Disappointing: the room for $475/night was really really small and offered no real space except to sleep—the bathroom was well appointed and comfortable. It was on the first floor with heavy steel fire doors at each end of the hallway (not so elegant). Each time the doors opened the loose bedroom door rattled and sounded like someone was trying to enter the room. I did mention it the next morning, and they added some weather stripping which made a difference in a better night’s sleep The Poor Experience: when I called to make the reservation I mentioned it was my dad’s 90th. “That is fantastic” the reservationist said and we had a really nice long chat about a whole host of things. “I will note it and we will make sure everything is special”. The same response when I called to make a reservation for dinner “That is a milestone. We will do something very special”. It wasn’t that I asked, it was a luxury hotel doing what it should do which is to understand the customer’s unique situation and proactively provide beyond expectations service. I was excited for my dad the Woodstock Inn would do something special for him…but checking in there was nothing, the room as I mentioned was far below expectations (the hotel wasn’t sold out)--- there was nothing special in the room, no gift or even a note. At dinner there was no recognition. I was frustrated and mentioned in passing it was his 90th “Oh congratulations” the waiter said. Clearly no note or not transfer of that info to him. But it gets even less impressive…. On checkout I mentioned that based upon the comments I made during reservations that nothing happened. “we are sorry” the front desk said. “it should have, we apologize”. But still nothing but words! I fill out the survey and indicate my disappointment in detail. The email reply “We are glad you had a wonderful stay at the Woodstock Inn”—clearly no one read it. I reply to please review my comments. Now a month later—no contact. No make-up or anything for a milestone. There are many options of places to celebrate—I expected, and was made to expect—something special from the Woodstock Inn. Alas, they missed a once in a lifetime opportunity.

My wife and her mom eat here 10 years ago. They insisted that we all had to go and get the hamburgers. This time it was me and my farther in law wife my wife and mother in law. We got seated very quickly on a Saturday night. Restaurant was about 2/3 full. We all ordered the Hamburgers (monsters) with a small salad. Hamburger had all the dressing including Bacon. They will cook to your specifications. Waitress was very friendly and on top of giving us service. Little pricey but meal was worth it. Real Meat was served and not flavored up to give you a taste. Will surly be back again!

This is our third stay with the Woodstock Inn with each time be very enjoyable. You can take a nice walk each day of drive the river road finding the covered bridges along the way. Many nice places to eat and shop. The Spa is very good and I went 2 hours early for the hot tub & stream room. Woodstock is a must see!
"Beautiful Inn & Resort on Woodstock Village Green"
09/11/14 Loves2Research Agawam, Massachusetts
The Woodstock Inn & Resort is located beautifully on the town green in the lovely town of Woodstock, VT. It is conveniently located to the Middle Covered Bridge, directly across the green, and to all stores and shopping in town. This charming and updated Inn has 142 rooms and the basic room in the spa wing was nicely appointed and very comfortable. It was easy to see how the Inn won the "Travel & Leisure Best Hotel by Region" award for 2014. Service at the Inn was excellent which included the concierge, check-in desk, shuttle service, the gift shop and all dining venues. The Inn hosts the Red Rooster and Richardson's Tavern with many farm-to-table offerings and the food and service was excellent in both venues. The Spa conveniently located in the north wing of the Inn, offered a seasonal spa treatment for the summer which began with a skin smoothing scrub, followed by a wrap and completed with a massage--very soothing and relaxing and highly recommended. There is a beautiful outdoor pool located in the back of Inn near the gardens but unfortunately is was too cool and rainy to utilize this pool in our visit. The Inn offers a resort shuttle to the Golf Club, the Fitness Club and also to Billings Farm & Museum. The shuttle was greatly appreciated on a rainy day to the Billings Farm which takes you back to agricultural life in the year 1890. It is a working dairy farm and houses farm exhibits and displays that are extremely interesting. Looking for something to do...stop at the Woodstock Town Crier in the center of town for a list of event to plan your day. Whether walking the beautiful town green, visiting covered bridges or shopping in the unique shops, there is something to please everyone.
"A bit of heaven in Vermont"

While visiting Vermont through fall foliage, the Woodstock Inn was one of our stops. Our rooms were pleasing, comfortable and relaxing with beautiful views, decor and amenities. We stayed in the spa wing, where the rooms were quite large also, and the spa gift shop is not to missed either. The dining room served the most outstanding food imaginable, all tasty, farm to table and fresh. The sights in the area are quintessential Vermont, with charming shops and great restaurants also. Our party of 4 was devastated when it came time to leave, we wished we had stayed at the Woodstock Inn for our entire vacation.
