Clean modern bathroom. Close to train station and bus station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They didn't have an elevator & our first room was very unsatisfactory. However, the management moved us to a much better room & was very accommodating in helping us. Very friendly personnel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location near train station but still very quiet at night (after midnight). Breakfast is not the best but good quality.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel and staff were wonderful! We loved the history of the hotel's past and the fact that there was still evidence of the monastery that the building once housed. Our one and only complaint would have to be the bed, it was very hard and uncomfortable, but it may be good for people who like a hard mattress. "Great location and friendly staff"
Location and staff are outstanding. Breakfast is cold cuts, fruits, bread and pastries is acceptable. Coffee machine is annoying. Room furnishings were spartan but clean. No elevator. Would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location! Only 5 minute walk from train station and to beautiful sites to visit. Friendly staff. Rooms are neat and clean. (Ask for extra blankets, as there are none on the beds.) Love the history of the hotel!! Delicious breakfast buffet! We would stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Charming, comfortable hotel located very close to the train station yet separate enough that you don't feel "next to the train station". Great location to be able to walk Venice and always take a vaporetto back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our third stay at Hotel Abbazia. One of the closest hotels to the train station so if you are traveling by train into Venice, you will not have to drag your suitcase around Venice or get a water taxi. Staff is excellent and always has been. Hats off to Mateo at the front desk for going above and beyond for us. There was no elevator but staff […] will carry your bags and I don't believe it is over three floors. We will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
""Centrally located- good for families""
The hotel was very close to the train station and easily accessible by train or water taxi. It was centrally located for walking around the city and experiencing Venice. The room was a good size but it had only a bath tub, no shower. Our daughters room had a small sized shower though. The bed was firm and clean but not the highest quality of mattress […] or linens. the towels also were clean but not soft. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated and the breakfast which is included was good- basic euopean breads, cold meats, cereals, juice and coffee. Over all it was a good experience and we would recommend it to fellow travelers Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Had a great stay, was very pleased with everything. Mirrko was great very friendly and helpful asset to the hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great value for your money. The location right next to the train station sounds scary, but it was perfect. You cannot hear the trains, but the convenience of having to make a short walk from the train station to the hotel was worth its weight in gold. The staff was extremely friendly, with a lot of personality and charm. The room was large, comfortable, […] and clean. The view from our room was limited, but with the natural beauty of Venice right outside your door who cares. We went in February , and thought the price was very fair. Highly recommend this hotel for those that need a solid base to see the fabulous city of Venice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Venice"
This was my 2nd stay at Abbazi - prior time was 2 years earlier. Found the same things to love about this hotel - location, clean rooms and great people working the front desk. After your first visit to this hotel, it would be hard to come back Venice and stay somewhere else. This is a great hotel for easy arrival into Venice and the vaporetto stop […] just down the alley, nothing could be more convenient for visiting the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable. But the main reason this hotel stands out from others is the friendliness and helpfulness of the people working there. They genuinely want you to enjoy yourself and will help in any way possible. "Wish we could have stayed longer"
This hotel was probably my favorite on our honeymoon. I think we got a good deal on it because the outside was undergoing construction and it's not directly on the grand canal. But inside it was amazing. And the staff provided an excellent example of Italian hospitality! The room was large, and the hotel had the feel of authentic age without being run […] down. We decided this hotel with customer's review and points (It was 4.8). Hotel location is good, very cross to the Santa Lucia station. Due to construction of outside of this hotel, we could not open window, we did not like breakfast. Juice is not fresh, it was too sweet, and we have to add water. Cofee was from machine as same as another hotels which […] we stayed at Rome and Florence, but taste was terrible. For us there are nothing special to evaluate 4.8. There are many hotels cross to this hotel. We stayed one of another hotel 3 years ago, it was cheaper, but it was almost same quality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"So convenient to train station"
My gf and I had lots of luggage(a do not when trekking across country) therefore looked for a hotel very close to the train station and this was definitely a great pick. The breakfast was superb! Location to the vaporeto, water buses were perfect and so much to in proximity. This location was on the segment that has the Jewish ghetto...I can't recall […] the name but yeah it's about a twenty minute ride to island of San Marco which is an anomaly and should not be missed. I would choose this hotel again if I returned. The room was spacious and affordable. Not much to see outside the windows because the buildings are so cramped together, but once you get going you can see much on the exciting outings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great experience overall"
First of all location, which was great. Just out of the train station and in less than 5 minutes you are there at the hotel. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. The free wifi in rooms was a great plus. I got a double room which was quite big with european standards. The bathroom was very clean with all the necessary toiletries. Breakfast was […] also great. "Great hotel for short-term stay"
The hotel is very near to central station, easy to access and get to the water bus station. It is a combination of history and modern facility. The hotel is very clean with s a great atmosphere and makes the guess feel very comfortable. The personnel are very pleasant and helpful. Their breakfast includes good varieties for choices. It is great considering […] the rate of the room. The only downside is that there is no view from the room since the hotel is located in a alley. "Average hotel with great location"
Standard room is disappointing (size, power outlets inaccessible, A/C not working, warm but not hot water) . If the room is facing the alley there isn't a possibly to keep the windows open for air because of the noise (even at night). Breakfast is bad. The location and staff are excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review

We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel staff were very helpful, the room was very clean and beds & pillows quite comfortable. Have stayed here before and was pleased. On this trip arrived to a hotel covered in scaffolding. Noisy, dirty, and unpleasant. Expected I would be advised the hotel under renovation. The location may not be on the water, but it is in a perfect hideaway and our room in particular was next to a church with such an amazing view! Stayed one night on Sept. 16th before a cruise. Very convenient location to P. Roma, train station and Vaparettos. Lots of shops and restuarants nearby. "Very convenient, lovely setting"
Hotel Abbazia is very close to the train station, but was very quiet and we felt very safe there. The garden was a lovely spot to sit and drink a Bellini after walking all over Venice. The free map was very good and the staff was great. No elevator, but our bags were carried the two floors up to our room. The room was HUGE- large separate bathroom and […] a separate closet as well, but this might not be typical. Air conditioning worked very well. "Easy to get to from trains and cruise ships"
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Abbazia for two nights following our cruise that ended in Venice. We were able to walk from the cruise to the hotel (though slightly challenging to do in Venice because of the stairs) and they got our room ready two hours early for us. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel's entrance […] is on a small quiet street, which meant it was really quiet. There is a vaporetto stop and a gondola station right at the end of the street. We ended up walking to San Marco Square and to the Rialto. Overall, a great place to stay for anyone who wants convenience for travel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent staff and service!!"
The hotel was very close to the train and bus station which made it very convenient when we arrived and departed as far as handling all of our luggage. Our first two nights we had a standard double room which was very small (however clean and comfortable). Our third night we had a more deluxe room which was much nicer, beautifully decorated and larger […] bathroom. What made this hotel stand out, was the excellent service we received from the staff. They were extremely helpful and probably the friendliest staff we encountered on our trip to Italy. I would recommend this hotel just because of their excellent staff! The hotel also had a lovely little garden setting which was relaxing to spend time in after a long day of walking through heavy crowds of people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"a beautiful refuge in a vibrant city"
For anyone who arrives and departs by train, this hotel is ideal. It is one minute from the train station and one minute from vaporetto stops. Although the narrow street (looks more like an alley) leading to the hotel is a little bleak, the hotel itself is beautiful, with terrific public spaces, including a lovely, secluded garden that we read in one […] day after we'd toured for many hours. The great hotel staff recommended three good restaurants -- we tried two of them and were very pleased. Although the hotel is not close to St. Mark's Square, we walked half the time -- it takes about an hour -- and we took the vaporetto the other half -- that takes about a half hour. But the time in transport is part of the fun because there's a visual treat everywhere. I strongly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect hotel for couples"
We stayed at Abbazia two nights before our Greek Isle cruise. Very clean hotel! The staff went out of their way and were very helpful. The front desk gave us dining suggestions, information on the watertaxi's, gondola rides and much more. They also provided a helpful map of the city. Rooms were typical European rooms. Small, but clean and comfortable. […] We didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Breakfast was not the typicall American breakfast, but they had a good assortment of danishes. More like a continental breakfast. The hotel was difficult to find as it is down a small alley (street in Venice), but this added to the uniqueness of the hotel. Right next to the train station, but we never heard any trains. Very good location, on the edge of town. For those visiting Venice, bring a good pair of walking shoes. "Very friendly staff. Mind the church bell!"
Extremely convenient location - right next to the Ferrovia Santa Lucia train station and 10-15min by foot to the Piazzale Roma bus station, it wasn't a problem to get to/from the airport, with the minor but relevant exception of carrying heavy suitcases over the Calatrava bridge (this can be avoided if you manage to have a vaporetto ticket upon arrival, […] so you can take it from Piazzale Roma to Ferrovia). Also, the Canareggio region is full of restaurants and snack shops that stay open late, even during the winter/holiday season. Hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly, eager to help. Room and hotel were very well-conserved and everything worked well - heating, toilet, bath. Bathroom had no windows and smelled a bit of cigarette smoke (not enough to be a problem). Breakfast was good but not fantastic, with decent options (bread, rolls, croissants, 2 or 3 types of fruits, cereal, cold cuts, yogurt, coffee, juice, 2 or 3 types of dessert pie) - with the exceptions of the juice (from concentrate and too sweet) and the machine burnt espresso (fix with milk). One of our mattresses was too soft, but the staff eagerly changed it for us. The room was amazingly quiet, with this one huge BUT in case you choose to sleep late: everyday at around 7h10 AND 8h20AM, a nearby church would loudly give us 114 bell tolls each time (on January 1st, it was hourly). First night, fire alarm went off at 6AM - false alarm. Not particularly cheap, but good cost/benefit ratio. Free wifi. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
