The stay was great! Negatives: […] The only issue we found was that the maintenance to some aspects of the hotel (one elevator broken, ice machine broken) didn't seem too great, but that can be expected anywhere, and it definitely did not affect/put a damper on our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay overnight that is inthe heart of Clifton Hill. After working in hospitality for 4 years, I can honestly say I made the right choice by staying at the Hampton. I'm sure I'll be a return customer for all my future travels to Naigara Falls, ON! Very disappointed . Of all the Hamptons I've stayed this was the worst. They gave us a room all the way to the back of the hotel and was told they didn't have any balcony but met other guest who checked in after us and the got balcony. I guess my money wasn't the same as theirs. Staff was not courteous.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in even though it was sold as a nice family friendly hotel. They ran out of seats and food at breakfast and we had to wait around each morning for both. The pool looked so old and run down and is the middle of everyone's view so we were put off using it. The kitchen staff looked overworked and unhappy.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad deal for the $, a block or so from all the kid-related activities and a few blocks from the Falls. My biggest complaint was 1) this hotel has a pool in the lobby so it smells like chlorine when you walk in and 2) I did not have kids and would have stayed in a hotel farther from the arcades/wax museums, etc., had I […] known. Crews were working on the street in front of the hotel so there was a bottleneck of cars in front - but could not hear any noise from this work in my room. We planned this trip several moths in advance and while we were there hurricane sandy hit. We had 2 day reservations and one of the days we stayed inside because the weather was so bad. We had breakfast at their buffet which I will add was AMAZING. Then later on ordered pizza and it was delivered right to our room. The room was clean and big. Nice room, great breakfast, and it was possible to walk to surrounding restaurants. The best part was that we could walk to the falls and even walk to the American side. It was an easy location to drive to wherever we needed to go such as north to Lake Ontario. Staff were very friendly.

Check in is at 3:00pm, my wife and I checked in at 6:30pm. Staff was nice, friendly, helpful, got to our room door was open unlocked shower curtain laying on floor as you walk in with a towel. We told the front desk about it and problem was solved immediatly. This is NOT a typical Hampton Inn. The facility was built during the era of atrium hotels, and has many of the problems of the breed. The presence of the pool in the atrium gives the lobby/breakfast area a strong odor of chlorine and high humidity. Rooms are clean and reasonably well maintained - though missing extra power outlets for laptops and phone […] chargers. The staff are most courteous and helpful. Breakfast, as with all Hamptons is plentiful and good, if pretty much standard fare. Location is good, in that it's a short walk to Niagara Parks facilities and the falls, and bad in that you must walk through the worst sort of schlocky tourist traps to get to the falls. All in all, reasonable value for money. I would add that if the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario, had managed commercial development half as well as Niagara Parks has managed the falls area, I would consider coming back. As it stands, Niagara Falls is truly a "once and done" attraction. Read more

This hotel is located at the edge of Clifton Hill, aka carnival town. For the price it is a nice compromise between elite falls view hotels and the rundown skanky motels. It is a short 10-15 minute walk to the falls, very doable for the average person. This hotel offers FREE parking and FREE buffet breakfast, which make it very convenient. The pool […] and hot tub were nice. We stayed in a family suite which was in an older portion of the hotel. The bathroom lighting was quite dim and felt cramped. However, the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. After spraining my ankle, the front desk staff helped me locate a wheelchair rental company named Cupalos. I was only charged $20 a day by Cupalos and they picked up the chair from the hotel when we left. The front desk staff was also helpful in restaurant recommendations. They recommended Sandstone Grillhouse, just a 5 minute from the hotel, and the food and service were excellent. This is a locally owned restaurant that serves great food for about $20-$25 total per person, and was rated #8 of 302 by TripAdvisor. On the second night the staff recommended Mandarin Chinese Buffet which was OUTSTANDING!. This was a 15 minute drive by car, with an average weekend price of $26 per person for the nicest buffet I have ever been to. The food choices were unending, including sushi, lobster, crab legs, prime rib, etc. Mandarin was rated #6 of 302 by TripAdvisor. I WOULD stay at this Hampton again. Read more

Hotel is near falls, just at the top of the hill. Was a tough walk for us. About 1/2 mile walk to the start of where you can see the falls. Took maybe 10 minutes. But you have to walk Clifton Hill St, which is slightly steep and very uneven surface. Really hurt my wife's legs. Then after you have walked and stood in line several hours, you have to walk […] back uphill! Know that now, I would stay at the other Hampton cause its right across from the people mover. But, that hotel doesn't have the restaurant choices. Hotel is much older building, yet very clean. We had a double queen room. As another reviewer said, smelled as if they sprayed Fabreeze just before we walked in. Smell went away quickly. Breakfast was normal Hampton breakfast. Several dining choices within a couple blocks. We ate at Spicy Olive. Moderate prices, good food, lousy service and slow. Kids liked the pool, but it is very small. Has sauna and hot tub. We loved the balcony off our room. It was relaxing and also a good place to hang wet swimsuits. The breakfast had good variety and saved us from having to purchase another meal- food was more expensive than in the U.S. We had fun in the pool and hot tub. Great Hotel!

Overall, very pleased. The staff was extrememly friendly no matter if it was at the front desk, cleaning staff or contential breakfast staff. It was obvious that they were there to service you and made sure you were happy. There was such a large crowd for breakfast that day we were there yet everything was stocked well and continually being cleaned […] so others could utilize the tables when they became available. The only comment that would make is the condition of the hallways leading to your room especially from the pool area, the flooring, baseboards and walls need some updates. However the rooms were very updated and nice. But for appearance is the hallways and that looked old and not inviting but pleasantly pleased with our very nice and comfortable room.
