It is a small hotel but room was clean and had full breakfast. It was quiet, even though it was close to freeway.

The room was supposedly non-smoking, but smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The mattress was old and weak, everything rolled toward the middle. I was impressed with the breakfast; cereal, toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage - all nicely done.

We arrived about 11pm and left the next morning about 8:15am. Check-in was slower than normal. The desk clerk was friendly and nice but it just took longer than I thought. When we received our room keys, he explained how to get to our room on the second floor and using the stairs around the corner, but we could not find any stairs at all. So we walked […] to the end of the hall and took the fire stairs and walked all the way back down the hall to find our room. Ends up, the two fire stairs are all they had which was a bit strange. The room keys were stubborn to unlock, but after about 15 tries, my son got it on the 4-5. The room appeared laid out well with the two double beds, clean and how I would expect to see a room. The bathroom was clean as well. The only couple issues we had were this room made the entire property feel as though it was old as there was discoloration of wallpaper and stains other places. The towels were paper thin and nothing extra to give you that great value for your price over any other property. The room did not have a refrig, microwave or blow dryer. We never turned the TV on or tried the internet. With a Holiday Inn right next door, it would be hard to not try that next time and compare for the prices. Upon leaving the next morning, the breakfast was very much the standard mid-range hotel breakfast. They did keep things refreshed and clean. I wouldn't say "NO" but it probably will not be our first choice next time we stay over. Read more

The hotel itself was in good shape. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was also good. The location of the hotel was very good being close to all kinds of shopping to pick things you may have forgotten and close to many restaurants.

This hotel has always been my choice to stay at when I have meet ig at the Manitowoc Maritime Museum. Yes, I have stay there before. I have stayed at 3 other hotel but, I prefer this one. I would have liked to stay at least one additional day, but I could not leave on Friday night as originally planned. Not much going on here. Staff wasn't bad but not outstanding either. For the money I paid, I was disappointed in the experience. The decor and furniture are clearly old. The towels we're small and barely absorbent and the cleaning staff did the minimum.The pillows were small and worn out. After cruising across Lake Michigan on the SS Badger, my wife and I were exhausted from from the sun and the wind. Although the hotel was tucked behind a restaurant on a frontage road near the highway, we found it easily. The friendliness of the desk clerk was immediately impressive and helpful, giving us high hopes for restful stay. The first thing […] we noticed about our room was the aroma; clean, crisp, and fresh. So many non-smoking rooms have old tobacco smells forever embedded in the fabrics, not this one. Necessities were well-stocked. The room temperature was pleasant. We were undisturbed by noises from the highway, the neighborhood, or other guests. Exhausted, we did not take advantage of other amenities offered by the hotel. We simply wanted a good night's sleep and a fresh start to our travels. Breakfast did not disappoint. Such affairs are usually a competition between guests to get the last of whatever remains. Not so here. Foods were consistently restocked, fresh and tasty. The efficiency of the staff brought out the best in the guests as well. Their pleasantness was contagious. It is not often that one of the highlights of a road-trip style vacation is the stay at a hotel, This hotel was certainly a highlight of our trip. Read more
