The room was very large, and clean, but maintenance could have done a better job on repairs. There were missing light bulbs in a few lamps, and a very things falling apart in the bathroom, but for less than $70, I was pleased.

I made this reservation last minute and arrived late. So, it was a gamble... That payed off. My first encounter with the front desk person was very pleasant. I had a small dog with me and usually that means getting a little grief, paying more for a room and then getting the worst room in the hotel. But not in this case. The hotel itself is older and needs some maintenance. There was a slight odor of mold/mildew in the halls but overall it seemed clean. It is located right next to a very busy freeway so it is also a little bit noisy. The room was actually decent. It was clean and didn't smell bad. It was a cheaper hotel room but they seemed to have made it look fairly nice. Although the pictures were hung (screwed to the wall) VERY crooked... but that had no affect on my stay. The bedding was clean and fairly comfortable (I have a hard time sleeping in ANY hotel). There were plenty of pillows. Overall I can say that this is a very good hotel for the price (which is quite cheap). I've stayed in other places for the same price that I wouldn't give one star. I'm giving this place 4 stars. Do not stay here unless you are desperate for a room. We knew the ratings were horrible but it was the last hotel in the Ann Arbor area available. The rear entrance had drapes so wrotten handing in the windows. Dirty windows. When you lay on the bed close your eyes and don't look up at the cobwebs will freak you out. I Stayed there for one night in room 210. I was scared at first because I had heard they had bed bugs. After checking every nook and cranny of the room I didn't find any. The place certainly is need of some desperate TLC. And the disturbing phone hackers that called wasn't to good either. I would say it was good for one night, not worth $70 per night and I probably most likely would not stay there again. We were greeted at the front desk by a clerk who felt the need to say how the "Mexican housekeepers didn't really do their job right." I felt that comment was highly uncalled for. He also tried to charge me for my service animal, insisting that I leave him cash for a deposit. I declined and he said his manager would call our room the next day. The hotel was okay. It's located right off of US23 close to shopping (Arborland and a Target) and few restaurants to choose from in the area (Red Lobster, Chili's, Applebee's, Potbelly's, Coldstone...) and the bed was spacious and comfortable. The down side was the service and the conditions of the hotel. When we arrived, we had to wait at least 10 […] minutes for someone to come to the front desk to help us, the room was freezing when we finally got in. It took a few hours for the mediocre heater to bring it up to temperature and had to run on high all night to keep the room comfortable. The continental breakfast was okay but a lot of the food they had out I wouldn't eat. The last thing was when we were leaving, the person at the desk provided me with the wrong receipt, requiring me to return to get the correct one for my insurance claim. Read more

They advertised an indoor pool. Not. There was a pool in the hotel next door, which you could get to by walking outside (in snowy, below freezing weather) but the door was locked to it. Each time we tried to go swimming, we had to call the front desk to open it. The hot tub was just warm, and on our last visit to it, the water was still and there was […] a horrid scum layer over the top.Ick! As for the room itself, the water was scalding hot and the shower had very very low water pressure each time we used it. The paint was flaking from the corners and ceiling area of the walls. The room had not been thoroughly cleaned, as there were used kleenex and cupcake wrappers under the bed. The bed was comfy, on one side. The other side had broken somehow underneath which created a big dip in the middle of my back. There was a lot of noise at night and so my husband did not sleep well at all. So, after our appointment in the afternoon, we went back to the room to nap. Put the do not disturb hanger on the door. Some lady knocked on our door and wanted to swap out PHONE BOOKS. When I told her to leave it outside she gave a heavy sigh and started babbling in some other language to the man with her. The pillows were heavenly. Room temperature was great. The interior corridors smelled very fresh and clean. Being in an unfamiliar town, we chose this place based on location to the facility we had to visit. My son was having surgery at U of M, I knew I would be spending most of my time at the hospital so I got the cheapest place on hotels.com. Upon my arrival I noticed a horrible smell, but I had just drove 16 from FL so I just wanted to get to my room. They gave me the key and I proceeded to my room. The man behind the counter apologized to me and gave me another room. I arrived to find that this room, although not as gross and the prior one, had not been cleaned either. Once again I let the gentleman know that he had given me a dirty room. He informed me that all of the cleaning staff was on a break and asked me to comeback in a few hours. Needless to say I was not happy considering I had just drove 16 hours. I returned Bout an hour later he gave me a room that had been serviced, I would not really call it clean. Any other time I would have tried to contact hotels.com and tried to get my money back. However, with my sons situation I was very stressed and did not feel like dealing with it. Arrived late in evening. Had to park in back parking lot. Only 1 of 7 lights were working...very dark. Also, the back door security system was not working. Anyone off the street could just walk right in the back door. Management must improve the safety of this motel. Plus TV did not have ABC,NBC,CBS or FOX.

About what I expected...the check-in was amazingly fast and simple. Nothing fancy but the bed was very comfortable and it was worth the money. Not much choices for breakfast, and when 9AM arrived they quickly closed that up. Never even made it to the pool so I can't tell you about that.

Very dirty, dingy and extremely smelly. We had to keep the patio door open in 20 degree weather to remove some of the smoke smell. I can still feel it in my lungs. 3 of the 6 lights in the room didn't work. The side and back doors to the building are kept un locked as well as the door to the pool. there are not enough outlets in the room to plug in electronics. There were several lights that were intentionally unplugged because the TV and the fridge were plugged in. Place was clean with new bathroom and flat screen TV, but don't stay on the first floor. You can hear every step and word spoken on the room above you. When the shower is on above, it sounds like a hail storm. Even though it is a non-smoking hotel, our room smelled of smoke.

Terrible choice of hotels for University of Michigan Ann Arbor medical commute. Room was dirty, smelled like wet dogs, cleaning staff were going through our luggage when we walked in, items were missing. It was cold, no blankets were available at the front desk - no towels were available... the bed was questionable, there was a used condom under the […] bed. Need I say more? Bad luck this stay. The first non-smoking room was not. Had to move. The exterior doors did not work with the room key. Evening snacks are no longer offered. Would not stay here save that it is a better hotel than the nearby Victory Inn and the Lamplighter among the economy sites.

Very low end hotel, not worth the high price (undoubtably raised due to the football game that weekend). I wouldnt even let my children walk on the floor without socks. Walls were paper thin, and could hear loud people all night. I do not reccomend staying three unless you are going with a bunch of dudes and partying all night.

The upkeep of the building was very poor. The lighting in the parking lot was terrible - I tripped on the curb between the parking lot and the building. The room felt shabby and dirty. The room heating/cooling system was not only filthy but it did not maintain a comfortable temperature in the room.

We were traveling with our two kids (4 and 6) to visit family in Ann Arbor for the weekend. First, when we checked in we were asked if a room on the second floor was ok, I said we actually prefer the first since there is no elevator and we have small kids. I was told the only rooms left on the first floor aren't really suitable and are only given as […] a last resort. (Should have been my first clue,) Second, we went to find the pool. After walking for about 5 minutes, we found a dark room with no lights. (Yes, it was the pool, but even though it was 7pm and it closed at 10pm-there were no lights in the pool room.) The pool is actually at the Comfort Inn next door. To get to it, you must walk outside the hotel and into a side door of the other hotel. When I asked about it at the front desk, the man said, "oh yes, there were no lights on in there yesterday too." Overall- we were always on the boarder of leaving. It also seemed that some of the guests were living there. Some guests seemed to be hanging out in the lobby and breakfast area every time we went into and out of our room. Place is very run down, out of date and dirty. Breakfast was available but I wouldn't eat anything provided as it looked old. The bathroom tiles were updated, but not the paint nor fixtures.
