I love Callaway Gardens an the convenience of the mountain inn and the fact that the garden admissions is included make it worth putting up with some not so nice rooms. They apparently did a partial update, but used the old furniture and didn't and TV. The beds and linens are nice, but the rest of the room left a lot to be desired. First of all, hotels.com showed the cost per night of $119/night yet when I bookedthe lodging I was charged $129/night. This motel was being renovated and the room I was given had been recently completed. The bed frames bad been stained and clear coated and the room had this smell. I could not sleep in the room and had to leave the door open the first […] night. I made the complaint to the front desk early in the morning. Our room was newly redone and was very nice and clean. We were there for 2 nights. Checkout time is posted for 11 a.m. but cleaning staff started knocking about 8:15 the first morning. I told them we would be out by 9:00. We weren't disturbed. The morning we were to check out same thing 8:15 knock I said we would be out by 9:00. 15" later staff person […] just walked in w/o knocking...They really want you out! It is just across the road from Callaway Gardens, but you still need to drive there, they have no shuttle service. Since the Callaway Gardens is so big, you need to drive anyway. The room is OK, the heating is relatively quiet, the beds are only full size, could be better with Queen size for family. Loved the reception/check in clerk. She was so helpful and pleasing. Only problems were 1; sticky door 2; no linen for fold out coach 3; waiter in the restaurant was definitely needing some help. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was nice. The rooms were very clean. My only complaints were that house keeping came and woke us up and tried to come in when we had not left yet and when they came in to make our beds they gathered all of the dirty towels and left them in a pile on the carpet and did not give us fresh ones. Not good!

The matress was soft and was difficut to get out of at times and the bedroom windows had drape hooks missing which presented privacy issues. A guess actually stop and looked in the opening that we could not close on either. Other than that our stay was super.

We originally checked into the Inn. The room was DIRTY and smelled like smoke. We immediately asked for another room since we have 2 young children. The next room was much cleaner but had only 1 bed for the 4 of us. We asked for another room still and there were no more available. They were accommodating and upgraded us to a cottage which were nice! […] Full kitchen, dishwasher, all needed utensils, silverware. We'll definitely stay in those again. the cottage was clean and roomy. had a nice kitchen but all needs to be updated especially the very unconfortable beds. The middle of July is not the time to see the gardens. Everything closes at 9 o'clock. If you want any night life, LaGrange is the closest city. Callaway gardens is a wonderful family get-away if you have young children

I chose this location for my birthday weekend getaway. The hotel was very clean and romantically styled. Great service, nice staff, very attentive. The location was perfect and secluded. Intimate and relaxing. Food was okay, not too many other places to eat. Will certainly stay here again in the future.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay in the hotel, the pool was awesome due to the heat, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly (I can't remember her name). The bed was surprisingly comfortable. My daughter enjoyed the beach area and the entertainment under the tent. The room at the Inn could have been cleaner, meaning the furniture needed to be pulled […] out and cleaned behind; the bathroom light fixtures were very dirty. Bathroom was old and not as clean as expected for Callaway Gardens. Did not like the large window wall around the door. I had to move furniture to hold the curtains closed facing the public walkway. Thankfully, I brought my own Shampoo because I was only given Conditioner both days.

Had a lovely time exploring the gardens. Disappointed in the lack of butterflies. Also came home with chigger bites after walking in wooded areas. Can't blame the hotel for that mistake.

4:00 pm check in time is later than the average check in time. With the 11:00 am check out time, the stay time is less than 20 hrs. Considering the the cost of the room and the out dated state of the facitities, this do not seem fair. The food was good and the facilties clean.

for the price that we paid, it was not worth it. Hotel was old, not updated, small rooms, old TV very few channels, beds were awfull, a/c was too loud and did not work properly, shower head too low for average person, towels sized for child. Everything about this trip was bad! Reservations we had were not shown by hotel when we arrived, took over 30 […] minutes to check in! Food on site was bad and VERY overpriced for what was received. $7.95 for one overcooked bisquit and sausage!!! limited parking have to drive over 5 miles for any place else to eat. It's a great little complex right across the street from the Gardens. The rooms are maybe a little dated but had everything you'd want, were clean and comfortable and suited me just fine. Restaurant was good tho a little pricey. I'd definitely stay there again.

In life you get what you pay for, so I thought that paying $155 for a room at the actual resort would be better and nicer than the Days Inn we stayed at last year (which was not that bad, but wanted to upgrade a little). How disappointed were we when we came into the 1st room to find broken furniture, dirty linens, dust about 1" thick beside the tv, […] dust literally everywhere and a smell between cat urine and smoke (was told it was definitely a non-smoking room). After staying the room for all of 10 min., I called the front desk to change rooms. They moved us to a room above the original room. While the 2nd room was definitely cleaner than the first, the room still had the most disgusting floors I've ever stayed in any hotel ever in my life. I literally have never written a bad review of any hotels. We've stayed in Motel 6 that are much nicer and cleaner than this one. The bedding was definitely cleaner and there wasn't as much dust, but the corners were filthy and the chair looked like someone puked on it. Luckily it didn't smell in the room so we just decided to make the best of it as we were there for the eve before Christmas Eve and had a packed agenda. The pros are, the Inn itself is cute and the lobby very well decorated. The staff was super friendly. The butterfly garden was spectacular and the Fantasy in Lights is absolutely and utterly amazing. So, in life, I guess you don't get what you pay for, but we had a wonderful time and I guess that is what counts. Read more

It was ok. We went for Fantasy in Lights. The A/C didn't work and you couldn't change the channels on the TV either. They were also late getting out room ready to check into. Great location for Fantasy in Lights, it is just an old hotel.

What a nice place to visit and stay. Lots of things to do, and the staff and the hotel were outstanding. Top three things we did: --Visited the Safari Animal park (Within three miles of the site) what a HOOT, renting an old van with bars in the windows, taking a 50 lb bag of food and feeding a lot of crazy animals who like to stick their entire head […] into the window and eat the food, including a giraffe. It has been a long time since we laughed as much. Rec. going early before 11 am. --Christmas Light show at Callaway--Unbelievable, make a reservation and take the Trolley. You can get a combo ticket at the Gardens that includes the light show and the room and breakfast. --Zip Line in Callaway--Lots of fun and very challenging. Make a reservation. Great place would do it again. Only caution: a lot of the places to stay have Callaway" in the name, make sure you understand which one you are staying at. They are all located close together. On the way back to Tallahassee, we stopped in Columbus, GA at Ft. Benning "National Infantry Museum. Very nice, first class. Read more
