They only have valet parking at which they tell you is $18, but then there is a valet parking tax so the total is $19.80 a day even if you didn't know at first and only had parked for half an hour. The staff doesn't know any information about the parking situation in their surrounding area, so nothing to recommend except the parking lot that charges $2 for every 15 minutes, but tells you to be careful about getting a ticket on Thanksgiving day. In hindsight, we drove, so we didn't really need to stay there which we though would be nice to walk around, but there wasn't much to look at except the Japanese style super market.

My hotel stay was pleasent. Id stay there again. We did not use the hotel's private parking which costs almost $20, instead we parked right behind the hotel in a public parking structure, it was way cheaper and my car was safe all night. There was nothing but asian food restaurants and stores around the hotel (which is great if you like that type of food)... but i dont and nothing else was within walking distance and anyone familiar w/LA knows parking anywhere can really suck and cost you. There was a cute little outdoor mall behind the hotel that had great lil asian stores. The bed wasnt very comfortable but the room was clean and the staff was friendly. The air conditioner/water etc. all worked great in the room.

It is located in historic "Little Tokyo" and is within easy walking distance of several key museums and cultural centers. Not only that but the staff was very helpful, friendly and efficient. The room we were in was spotless with a great view of downtown L.A. We will definitely be staying here again.

We are a family of four and had two rooms next to each other on the 10th floor. The rooms on the 10th and 11th floors have renovated rooms with touch of Japanesey decor and comfortable beds. We've stayed here before and like the convenient location for our needs--our teenage kids love exploring Little Tokyo on their own and adults can walk to Walt Disney Hall where we went to see the LA Phil. This time we drove to Hollywood Bowl which was not too bad. One complaint we had was our coffee maker which we used to make hot water was malfunctioning. Also, they only provided only one green tea tea bag.

Room was comfortable. Nice white linen, well-decorated. Bidet was nice plus, beds were comfortable. Valet service was good. Japanese staff not nice. Endless efforts to overcharge guests: parking was $20/night (was $8.50 a half-block away), breakfast buffet advertised as $15 was billed as $20. Room service failed to bring all three breakfasts. Was triple-charged for dry-cleaning and had to argue it repeatedly before it was corrected.

On first street in Little Tokyo, we were able to have dinner and a night walk before going back to our hotel room all in a three block radius. The parking/valet is very convenient. The room was a little stuffy and the bed felt old, saggy and almost broken. The staff was somewhat friendly but sort of made me feel un-welcomed. The computer went down and I had to wait a while in the lobby before they could check me in. The price is right and maybe I'd consider it next time. There's another larger hotel a block away, I might try that next time.

This hotel wasn't anything to write home about, but it was clean & quiet considering the location. The desk in the room looked like someone had gone at it with a knife, and the dvd player didn't work, but the bed was comfortable, you could open the windows (room was pretty stuffy when we arrived) and despite being right in the middle of Little Tokyo was very quiet. The hotel was very easy to get to (we arrived by train @ Union Station) and will be even easier when the Gold Line extension is finished - there will be a station about two blocks away. It was convenient to everything we were trying to reach in LA, and there is lots to eat steps for the hotel. We'd stay there again.

I come to L.A. often and have stayed at some pretty bad hotels.. so I thought for this trip I'd dish out a little more to try a nicer one. Drive slow and look carefully for the parking garage when finding this place for the first time. It's right next to the front door, but pretty easy to miss. It is Downtown L.A. after all. If you don't valet, but decide to park yourself, expect an interesting walk to actually get to the hotel. You pass kind of an alley on the side of the hotel to get to the main street the hotel is on. There were other guests who got lost with me...sounds dumb, but if you're not familiar w/the hotel area, it's pretty confusing. My room on the other hand was very nice. I had 2 double beds and the room was very spacious. The beds were extremely clean and comfortable. I always bring my own little blanket because I always feel like the hotel ones are dirty... but they had bright white comforters that I wanted to take home. The bathroom was really clean, but it could use some upgrading. I think they only thing they upgraded recently was the toilet.... it had a bidet and heated seats (you just have to experience the heated seat at least once...hah!) Give yourself some extra time while traveling to and from this hotel since it is located in downtown l.a. The surrounding area is an interesting place to walk around, during the day only though... at night, just enjoy your room. You're right between the Staple Center and Dodger Stadium so that was nice for me since I went to both for my trip. Overall, my stay here was nice, but I think it was a little on the expensive side considering how I had paid an extra 17 bucks for SELF-PARKING.

Our stay at the Miyako Hotel happened to coincide with the Japanese Cherry Viewing Festival that caused the street that the hotel was on to be closed off, which made it initially difficult to get to. It ended up being a plus and minus because while it was a hassle it forced us to find parking at nearby Little Tokyo Mall that charged $4 per day for parking, which was far cheaper than the Miyako's parking lot service fee of almost $16. The room that I had was the standard room with 2 double beds and it was far nicer than I expected for the price that was paid. It was clean, spacious, elegant, and very comfortable. If there were any negatives that I could specifically point to it would be that the closet did not have any guide rails. You were forced to pick up the mirror/door and move it to the side in order to open it, which quickly became a bothersome chore. Regardless of that, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future.
