Very convenient for my business needs. However, there were some issues that need to be dealt with. In room 301 the coat hanger next to entrance was broken. The Toto toilet did not function in manner as publicized.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value for the cost; Great location"
I stayed at the Miyako Hotel on a recent business trip to LA, partly because I travel to Japan frequently and feel comfortable in this environment. This was the first time I stayed at the LA Miyako and I will quite likely stay there whenever I visit LA. The staff was helpful and efficient, and my room very comfortable and well tended to. The location […] is excellent - I walked to Dodger Stadium - and I was in noodle heaven with the selection of restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxury in Little Toyoko"
Very nice, well appointed hotel close to downtown LA. They also had a beautiful spa that were not able to enjoy because of our other appointments. Next time. The hotel was quiet even though it was full. Our room looked out onto the street and traffic was never a problem. The bedding was luxurious and the bathroom had all the amenities. Overall, a very […] nice stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. Hotel needs some updating."
The Miyako Hotel is right in the heart of LA's Little Tokyo. As far as location goes that is either good or bad to you, depending on your preferences. The hotel rates were surprisingly low for Downtown LA, and that is something to consider for future stays! Tons of restaurants literally just outside your door. The Miyako should put some money refreshing […] the property, though. The room furniture is pretty worn and battle scarred. The bathtub grout lines had black mold growing. The carpet is old, and in need of a good cleaning. The upside is the warm and cheerful staff. The hotel is a decent stay for overnighters, and the price was great for the downtown area. If I were looking for a vacation holt or romantic getaway, I would look elsewhere until the property makes some improvements. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the middle of Little Tokyo"
The good: the stuff overall seems to be very friendly and welcoming the rooms are of decent size. Overall cleanlinessss appears to be good. The bad: the room furniture is beaten up, worn out, and really needs some updating and refreshing. Over all, the hotel is old and tired and smells like a dirty diaper. The big plus is that it is located in a culturally […] rich and fun area of Little Tokyo. And the overall price per night isn't bad. This could be such a gem in this neighborhood if owners would put a little more effort and monetary investment into refreshing the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location near excellent Japanese food"
Walking distance to Walt Disney concert hall - excellent Japanese restaurants for sushi and ramen very close by - staff very helpful and friendly - room very comfortable and clean and quiet - only complaint - carpet needs replacing or cleaned - stains diminished aesthetic quality of roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It's a great hotel and well run In the executive room everything is perfect and the hotel does not feel dated. There are some pluses.. There is a Spa and karaoke bar and a nice cafe for breakfast. The Jspanese part of the staff caters well to Japsnese speakers and the fact that the hotel is located next door to Tokyo village makes it ideal if you are […] interested in little Tokyo. I had to wait in line for 25 minutes to check in. Television limited to about 10 channels. Worst of all, $23 for a buffet breakfast! Really?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A bit tired"
I've been a fan of the Miyako for at least the last 7 years and have stayed many times in that period. It's been a while, so when business took me to downtown LA, I once again booked the Miyako. I noted rates are up now that the other hotel in the neighborhood has become part of a national chain with a concomitant rate increase. My check-in experience […] was the same, wonderful time as always. My room, however was rather sad. The AC wasn't working and the entire room smelled vaguely of mold. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, baseboards were chipped and the entire room looked like it had been used a few too many times without a refresh. I was sadly disappointed and hope the Miyako will soon fund a freshening. Sadly, this experience will have me checking out some of the other downtown LA boutique hotels that have sprung up in the last couple of years. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Miyako Hotel Los Angeles"
Miyako Hotel Los Angeles was overall a pleasant experience. I stayed in a non-smoking room. Easy check in and check out. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I do not recommend is the Breakfast Buffet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, interesting hotel"
Really weird toilet- like a standard (western) toilet with a heated seat and bidet added.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outdated facilities, poor staff training"
The rooms are large, but outdated. Room comfort and cleanliness are average. Breakfast is one set price buffet. The selection of food is very small and I don't feel I got value for my money. They also do not have a parking facility and must use public parking next doors, which they do not validate. The TV's were hard to operate. When I went to the front […] desk to get instructions, the hotel staff was not knowledgeable. I gave up on watching TV. I will not stay there again unless I have no other choice. The Miyako Hotel is an good hotel that is centrally located in Little Tokyo. Though the rooms are a bit old and in need of an update, They are large enough and clean enough to have a very comfortable stay. The inclusive Satellite Channels and Wi-Fi makes this a wonderful bargain. It is also walking distance to shops, restaurants and a couple of small […] supermarkets. About three blocks down is a train stop which can connect you to almost anywhere in the city. The staff is friendly, efficient and professional. The spa upstairs is very good and a great bargain. "uncomfortable bed, clean room"
The hotel is pretty, but the bed and pillows are horribly uncomfortable. Also, the space has a $15 fee per person per day. THe room was clean and pretty, and otherwise it was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel is not in a nice place to stay and is very oldGenuine Expedia guest review
I got there a little after noon and I was able to check in early. The people working the front desk were polite and efficient during check in and check out. Valet parking is expensive, but good service was provided. There is a flat rate parking lot on the corner at more than half the rate. The room was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable. […] Took me a few minutes to work the TV--only got one Japanese station at first. But figured it out and was able to get English, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean stations. Plenty of restaurants nearby, including ones that serve burgers, if you're so inclined. Close to a couple museums. Overall, great location and stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"a fine place to stay!"
I often have business in Los Angeles at the L.A.Superior Court. The court house is walking distance from the hotel (15 minutes at most). GREAT sushi and other restaurants on the same block of the Miyako. The bar in the Miyako is superb as well!Genuine Expedia guest review
I had no complaints at all. All Japanese staff and one or two were slightly difficult to understand, but all were very professional and courteous. Very luxurious for only $200 a night in downtown L.A. I loved it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location lousy hotel"
The hotel is tired and need of refurbishment . Around 2 a.m. I awoke to screams of a drunken lady on the street below. My fault because I like fresh air. The buffet breakfast looked dodgy so we passed. Good move. Just around the corner we found a gem of a restaurant - the jist cafe.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfectly fine for what we needed"
I love the location across the street from various Asian restaurants and very conveniently close to the Metro line. The room was quite average, but the thermostat never seemed to work and it was hard to sleep when it was so warm. Also, the beds were short on pillows. The karaoke bar was a bizarre experience. There was a $6 per person charge to sit at […] a table and $1.09 charge per song. (yes, $1.09). So there was nobody in there, as if the awful wine wasn't enough to drive people away. All in all, it was serviceable for a reasonable price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel in downtown LA"
Easy check in. Clean lobby and nice, comfortable, clean room. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Across the street are lots of small Japanese and Korean restaurants. Next door is little Tokyo Village with lots of restaurants and shopping. What wasn't so nice was the onsite bar and restaurant. The bartender Justin was wonderful. A very nice fellow. My drink […] was served perfectly. The challenge came when I wanted to settle my bill and was told I could not charge it to my room. So, I pulled out my credit card and was told I didn't meet the minimum charge of $10 so they would charge me a $1 fee for using my credit card. Fortunately, I had some cash and could pay. But, seriously, how ridiculous to go to a hotel bar and be told you couldn't charge to your room or pay a fee to use your credit card?! Next morning I go the restaurant for breakfast. It was a buffet style breakfast...as I am adding food to my plate a staff member walks over and says you know this buffet costs $23 dollars? No. I didn't. $23 dollars?! I should have walked out but felt a little guilty since I already had food on my plate. Unfortunately, the food was really poor quality. The pancakes were tough and chewy. The eggs were watery. And the bacon was near raw. Coffee was OK...thank goodness. So, hotel was nice..bar policy was not customer friendly....restaurant was a rip off. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel, but no more free parking..."
It was nice to see some needed renovations. Some nice upgrades were evident, however my bathroom on the 10th floor still needs some work done. The location was excellent, since my wife and I were missing some Japanese food. The SPA also was really nice. The only bad surprise was to see that the free parking was gone. Now they charge $19 for valet or […] $10 for self parking. PS: I only knew about the self parking after digging for an alternative parking spot with the hotel staffs. "Free fast internet"
The hotel is nice, friendly staff, good generic with rooms a hint of Asian deco. The Internet is the fastest I've ever had at any hotel and it's available at no extra charge. This alone makes it great! The spa is nice too. Amazing Japanese food literally steps away. You won't be sorry if you stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel is in a great location - right across the street is the best ramen I've ever eaten. Used to like staying at this hotel. No more. On the room desk area, it was dusty and there were some kind of food crumbs there. Looked like room had not been vacuumed. The lobby was beautiful. We got a mid priced room but it was not worth the cost! I could have gotten the standard room at half price and still seen the same problems.
