"Poor WiFi, poor smile, great bidet toilet"
Free WiFi has only 200 devices capability and sometimes rejected my access. No smile on staff face. No free parking available other than $10 per night public parking. Great location. Great bidet toilet (so called Washlet)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel great this is my second time stying at Miyakos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was outstanding with registration and helping us in getting to our destinations. Very helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly.... THE hotel rooms were clean and the bedding was cushiony soft. After a long day of traveling, it was nice to sink into the bed and be wrapped in such comfort. Slept like a well fed kitten.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for Disney Hall Events"
the Miyako is an older hotel, well maintained. The front desk staff was excellent. The room in which I stayed was large, and the bathroom quite clean. Aveda products in the bathroom were upscale. The black out curtains were amazing and have inspired me to redo my bedroom drapes because the hotel ones were so effective. I requested a room off the street, […] and I was on the back side of the hotel, which was very quiet. I upgraded to a king bed for $20 more which was worth it. A very good bed with nice linens. Best advice on the valet parking: - - hotel uses the AutoPark next door for the Little Tokyo Mall which you can self park in yourself - -so I paid a total of $8 over 2 days, vs. the hotel valet charge of $20 a day. Just pull into the hotel's auto court to unload your luggage, decline the valet parking, and do it yourself. Take the money you saved and go get some sake and Japanese food across the street and any of the 4 hopping restaurants just across the street. They serve late until 1 or 2 - - best bet:: the hip Far East Cafe (Chinese) open since 1890's and very cool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was walking distance to the Aratani Theater, the Japanese Museum, Little Tokyo, and quaint shopping stores and eateries. The parking lot was beside the hotel and acquired a small fee for an overnight stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very happy with Miyako"
I found the Mikayo to have an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and the room was very clean and comfortable. I could have used more power outlets to plug in electronics. It was easy to walk to and from less expensive parking lot adjacent to the hotel. The bakeries and coffee shop at the Japanese mall were very good. Several restaurants were within […] walking distance. It was fast and easy to get to the garment district for business and to get onto the freeways. The only downside was the neighborhood in certain areas. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very convenient to Little Tokyo, JACCC, JANM. I got a room at the last minute, due to some scheduling changes and availability. I got a very nice room on the 7th floor and was there for 2 nights. I think it would have been cheaper if I hadn't had to book it the night before I went, but the $14 valet charge was actually $18 $1.80 tax per day, so closer […] to $20/day. If I had known that, I would have gone to the attached public parking, which is $10/weekday and $5/weekend. The A/C turned off after the first night and never came back on again. This has happened to us before in this hotel, I think they do it on purpose. However, the weekend temps were in the 70's to low 80's, so as long as the fan was on, we were comfortable. In-room safe, refrigerator, and coffee made it very convenient for us and all our gear. Beds (2 queen) were super comfortable. Service staff were great, front desk was very polite and accommodating, maid service was timely and unobtrusive. Bell desk was quick and efficient. I didn't have any problems with noise, either from other rooms or the street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel 4/5"
The location was great mall right behind you and in Little Tokyo. Only complains I had are the Iron and the refrigerator didn't work at all or not as well. Also they didn't have a microwave in the rooms so you have to go down stairs and ask them heat the food for you Overall great location lots of restaurants near you and friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The toilet wall paper is peeling and there's obvious signs of tear on the wall and tiles. The shower was very disappointing as you cannot adjust the shower head for rain shower. The water was shooting out in a sharp downward motion and it hurts your body as it hits it. Taking a shower was the worst part of all.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was decent but the shower water was Luke warm at best. Used the shower at night and in the morning and the water was the same.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One of the best of the downtown LA hotels"
My biggest complaint was the parking situation which was in a public lot. Otherwise, the hotel staff was extremely professional and the property was managed well. The hotel has a restaurant on the second floor which has well prepared foods and drinks. There is also a spa but I didn't get a chance to try it out as my schedule was pretty full.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Miyako a pleasant surprise!"
I'm not extremely familiar with downtown Los Angeles and was a bit apprehensive about staying in "Little Tokyo". The immediate neighborhood was a bit shabby, but seemed safe and the hotel itself was very clean, comfortable, nice amenities and central to all areas of downtown. My friend and I used Uber to get to several bars and restaurants. Price was […] extremely affordable and I would stay at Hotel Miyako again without hesitation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Staff was friendly and location was excellent. Very nice roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
I would highly recommend the Miyako, loved being able to get my morning cappuccino right down in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurants right out the front door. Convenient location to freeways and downtown shopping, my wife loved the jewelry district. My only complaint would be the pillows, too hard and too big. Otherwise, […] great experience. "Nice hotel in little Tokyo"
we were given a large room with two queen beds and the place was nice and clean. I like the Aveda Shampoo and bath soap and the overall place was great!I will definitely go back to this hotel for my next visit in LA.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient and comfortable"
The Miyako hotel is right in the center of a lot of Little Tokyo restaurant activity (and not all of it Japanese) and fun gift shopping too. The famous Daikokuya restaurant is right across the street and is always packed (there are plenty of other choices nearby). We had a great brunch at the JiST Cafe, around the corner on Judge John Aiso St. It's […] an easy walk to the Civic Center area, Broadway, and Bunker Hill; it's also only a block from the Little Tokyo/Arts District station on the Gold Line, and from there it's one stop to Union Station and connections to other lines (to Hollywood, etc.). Self-parking in the Little Tokyo Mall garage (right behind the hotel in mid-block) is inexpensive - only four bucks a night on weekends. Walking in and out of the hotel late at night felt fairly safe (and in comparison with other areas of downtown LA we've stayed in), though you always need to keep an eye out of course. We stayed on the 10th floor and it was very comfortable. Like others who have commented, the furnishings are a bit old, but the sheets and linens were clean, maid service was reliable, digital TV good, and Aveda bath products are nice. We plan to come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Really nice hotel at a great rate."
Came away with an overnight stay with a good feeling about the hotel. I am not very familiar with Los Angeles and was surprised when I experienced the hotel and the surrounding area. The Japanese culture is evident and strong in this area. It almost has the feel of another country. This was a good experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would stay here again"
We were in a room with a good view of air conditioner equipment, but we were seldom in the room so it didn't matter. The lovely comforter in the bed was way too warm; we turned up the AC the first night, then asked for a lighter blanket which was promptly and cheerfully supplied. Hotel staff was very nice and pleasant. We liked the hotel and thought […] it was a good value, would stay there again. Interesting display of historic "Little Tokyo" photographs on walls throughout the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfy, but NOT nice/modern"
I purchased this hotel through the Expedia unpublished option. 3.5 star hotel in downtown LA. I was very pleased with the staff and service I received, the hotel itself however was rather subpar. There was a mini fridge, but no microwave. There was also a creepy hole cut into the wall and haphazardly boarded up ...it was full of dust bunnies and god […] knows what else (we stayed in room 308). The beds were soft, fluffy, and clean. The furniture in the room was outdated, and the bathroom, though spacious, seemed very much like it was renovated on a tight budget (the faucet knobs were even on wrong- you can hardly turn them!) it was overall not as nice as the hotels which it's quality was likened to, (marriott inn & the likes) thus I was disappointed. "You may need to retrain your staff,"
My company was there on a business trip, and gave me Manager hassle for putting it under my CEO's name. I have never come across a situation like this before. Also, your call service and front desk girl have attitude and were not very professional. Thank you,Genuine Expedia guest review
Very convenient for my business needs. However, there were some issues that need to be dealt with. In room 301 the coat hanger next to entrance was broken. The Toto toilet did not function in manner as publicized.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value for the cost; Great location"
I stayed at the Miyako Hotel on a recent business trip to LA, partly because I travel to Japan frequently and feel comfortable in this environment. This was the first time I stayed at the LA Miyako and I will quite likely stay there whenever I visit LA. The staff was helpful and efficient, and my room very comfortable and well tended to. The location […] is excellent - I walked to Dodger Stadium - and I was in noodle heaven with the selection of restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxury in Little Toyoko"
Very nice, well appointed hotel close to downtown LA. They also had a beautiful spa that were not able to enjoy because of our other appointments. Next time. "Great location. Hotel needs some updating."
The Miyako Hotel is right in the heart of LA's Little Tokyo. As far as location goes that is either good or bad to you, depending on your preferences. The hotel rates were surprisingly low for Downtown LA, and that is something to consider for future stays! Tons of restaurants literally just outside your door. The Miyako should put some money refreshing […] the property, though. The room furniture is pretty worn and battle scarred. The bathtub grout lines had black mold growing. The carpet is old, and in need of a good cleaning. The upside is the warm and cheerful staff. The hotel is a decent stay for overnighters, and the price was great for the downtown area. If I were looking for a vacation holt or romantic getaway, I would look elsewhere until the property makes some improvements. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the middle of Little Tokyo"
The good: the stuff overall seems to be very friendly and welcoming the rooms are of decent size. Overall cleanlinessss appears to be good. The bad: the room furniture is beaten up, worn out, and really needs some updating and refreshing. Over all, the hotel is old and tired and smells like a dirty diaper. The big plus is that it is located in a culturally […] rich and fun area of Little Tokyo. And the overall price per night isn't bad. This could be such a gem in this neighborhood if owners would put a little more effort and monetary investment into refreshing the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Walking distance to Walt Disney concert hall - excellent Japanese restaurants for sushi and ramen very close by - staff very helpful and friendly - room very comfortable and clean and quiet - only complaint - carpet needs replacing or cleaned - stains diminished aesthetic quality of roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It's a great hotel and well run In the executive room everything is perfect and the hotel does not feel dated. There are some pluses.. There is a Spa and karaoke bar and a nice cafe for breakfast. "A bit tired"
I've been a fan of the Miyako for at least the last 7 years and have stayed many times in that period. It's been a while, so when business took me to downtown LA, I once again booked the Miyako. I noted rates are up now that the other hotel in the neighborhood has become part of a national chain with a concomitant rate increase. My check-in experience […] was the same, wonderful time as always. My room, however was rather sad. The AC wasn't working and the entire room smelled vaguely of mold. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, baseboards were chipped and the entire room looked like it had been used a few too many times without a refresh. I was sadly disappointed and hope the Miyako will soon fund a freshening. Sadly, this experience will have me checking out some of the other downtown LA boutique hotels that have sprung up in the last couple of years. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
