Prytania Park Hotel - New Orleans

Check-in & Check-out very smooth and friendly. Was a little dubious after reading some of the reviews, but I experienced none of the negatives. Room was clean, maid service was good and the other guests were all quiet and nice. Location was good. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is old New Orleans. Located just off St. Charles blvd., the hotel is close to some very excellent restaurants including Emeril's Delmonico and a 12 minute walk to the convention center. For the price it was a very comfortable stay. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful .

Great hotel that is only a block away from St. Charles. Being so close to the streetcar makes it easy to get around to where ever you're going. My only complaint is that they use a lot of fluorescent lighting in the rooms that is very harsh.

Charming Hotel, clean, well maintained Free parking a huge plus in a big city. Breakfast Ok, for continental it contained protein & dairy, as well as carbs. Super helpful staff. My husband lost a screw out of his glasses, one employee dug up a matching screw, another called her son to bring the needed tiny screw driver. Prytania Park gave us a coupon for a free bread pudding at one. It was heavenly. Would stay there again. Neighborhood seems a bit run down ,but recovery from Katrina has been a long hard struggle. Great value and an easy distance from the Quarter. Lots of restaurants nearby from which to choose...I had a last-minute meeting that required me to get the wrinkles out of my suit, and the front desk gave me an iron with a steamer that worked very well. The front desk staff are very friendly. The only drawback was that I had asked for a cab at a certain […] time, and the taxi service the staff member chose did not show up until 25 minutes later..I found out later that the taxi company she had chosen is the worst one in New Orleans, and that there was a taxi stand just around the corner from the hotel, where I could have easily walked and hailed a cab, had she told me about it. I travel & have seen my share of hotel rooms. Yes, the fixtures were "dated" but you're staying in a historic hotel. I did not like the $1.00 fee to use the phone in the room especially since I was put on hold & never actually got through. The shower sprayed out of the curtain but that's fine, I had a laugh. My daughter loved the loft room & spiral […] staircase. I once worked in the hotel business, do I decided to help the cleaning ladies by pulling sheets/covers/cases off the bedding... I shouldn't have done that. :-( the pillows were badly stained & l wish I hadn't seen that. The staff was very friendly & helpful. There weren't a lot of delivery places. Magazine pizza was the only place we could find but the delivery times were horrendous. We drove the few blocks to get it. There are a lot of great eateries nearby that are within walking distance. our group of eight stayed here and although it is old, it is very quaint and thats part of the charm. Beautiful neighborhood to walk around in and see the mansions. Loved the continental breakfast. Everyone working there were very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again and probably will.

Great historic old hotel. One block away is public transportation on St Charles Ave. Bus or tolley service will drop you off at bourbon st and canal, 10 minutes away. Either do the bourbon st thing, or take a tolley transfer on canal, down to Harrahs, riverwalk, or jax brewery. This was a vacation for my daughter and I to explore New Orleans. The hotel made the experience even better. Service was fine, breakfast was a typical danish, cereal etc, The best part was the actual room, we stayed in one of the lofts and it felt very European and the BEDS WERE COMFY!!! We will be staying there again!

The front desk folks were very helpful. The room was on the SECOND floor and no elevator. :-( The room was small, but the loft was really neat for our grandson that was with us. The bed and the breakfast need be upgraded. Over all a good experience and I would stay here again.

Love the New Orleans look and feel with the baloncies and courtyard area (for breakfast and anytime). Great location just off the St. Charles street car line so easy access to French Quarter etc.. My daughter loves the loft for her bedroom.

Wonderful boutique hotel right in the middle of all the action.Great accomodations for the price. This is a charming not too big hotel in a great location on the edge of the Garden District, within walking distance of the St Charles streetcar and restaurants/bars and shops on that street and Magazine Street; despite its proximity to nightlife it was very quiet. Perfect location! However, they really need to invest in new vacuums & clean the lint traps on their dryers because there was HAIR all over the room, none of which belonged to any of us! Luckily it's a hotel & not a restaurant, so the hair was not as horrific as it could have been. There was also a mildew smell that was very noicable the first night […] but after 4 nights I didn't notice it at all. Plus, with the recent hurricane, I can't really hold any of that against them. The beds were firm but comfortable. the complementary breakfast was nice and more than most hotels offer without a doubt. wifi was free, but rather slow and there was a computer available for use in the lobby where they let us print our friend's comic-con ticket out, also for free. Big bonus here is that parking is also free AND there is NO resort fee! The hotel could use better cleaning & some updates but is a GREAT place to stay and affordable! Oh, and the pictures on here are 100% what you will see/get. The trolley is just a block away on st. charles which goes directly to the French Quarter & the other Trolley lines (get a Jazzy pass if you're there for a few days, 3day is $9 for reference and can be used for both busses & trolleys). It wasn't 4-star, but it was clean, we felt safe, and there was adequate parking. Within walking distance of several restaurants. Breakfast was minimal (not my idea of a B&B). Believe it or not, the cold water didn't work in the shower - we reported it and it was fixed by the time we got back to our room in the evening. Good stay for the price.
