"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Great skyline view! $10/night Parking!"
My mom and I stayed here in December when we came to town to see the Rockettes. The hotel has a gorgeous nighttime skyline view of the Empire State Bldg, and Times Sq. skyscrapers. We would have easily given this hotel a 5 if the room hadn't been so hot. On the 4th floor, the heat from lower floors rose to make our room hot and our a/c was not working […] to be able to moderate the temperature. We LOVED the 10/night parking charge (if you don't go in and out but just park until checkout). Best deal in Manhattan! The cleaning staff was also very friendly. A great stay except for the heat! It was probably just our room so be sure and ask for a working air conditioner. Read more
"Pleasantly surprised"
We weren't expecting too much based on the price we got but I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The rooms were very clean and we had a nice view. The staff were very friendly, parking garage available & plenty of food options. I noticed on the door that it's also a "pet friendly" hotel. The only 2 complaints we had was the temperature of the […] room & the lock on our bathroom door was broken. The room was too hot for us. We had the AC on all night & it barley made a difference. The positives out weighed the negatives. Read more
"NYC"
Very close to Times square and everything. Safe, convenient to deli's across the street and within walking distance to so much! The indoor pool was great for my daughter. Very clean and having the parking was great. Would definitely stay here again.

"Thanksgiving week stay"
Every part of our stay was perfect. Location, accomodations and friendliness of the staff. Have already recommended to friends and family and will return!!!!
"Great Location! But....."
We were there on Thanksgiving weekend, I guess there was so many families in the hotel that weekend, because it was very noisy. The location is awesome! so close to everything, if I go back on a holiday I'll think twice before booked here. Staff was friendly and helpful.
"Good hotel"
At first I wasn't sure from the outside of the building if it was nice/big inside. But it was. I've stayed at a lot of hotels, and this was probably one of the nicest ones I stayed at. And to make matters better, the staff (day and night) were friendly and helpful. Roomy and clean. Not a very busy avenue, so you may have to walk to get food/drinks, […] etc. But there is a restaurant located right inside the hotel beside the lobby... I recommend this hotel 100%! Read more
"Skyline"
I had a good experience at my stay at Skyline. Friendly people. Its good for the price. Convenient location, close but also quiet. Thanks.
"great location"
Could walk everywhere.Parking garage charges were the most reasonable i've heard of..
"Nice hotel"
We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend...a couple of blocks farther from where we stayed the last time we visited NYC, but couldn't beat the price over a holiday!! Staff was great. Restaurant was good but a little pricey. Charging extra for internet for a hotel of this caliber is a little lame. Wish there was a coffee maker in the room or at least […] a coffee station in the lobby in the morning!!! Read more
"Skyline Hotel NYC"
The hotel is a nice alternative to all the fancy overpriced hotels lining the city. It is close to Broadway, Times square, Rock Center, Central Park, the cross town bus and the A-C-E subway lines. It is a good mid tier hotel. Remember it's not the W - But the price, location and cleanliness makes it and attractive choice..
"The Skyline in Mid West Manhattan in New York"
The hotel location was very convenient. It had a restaurant next door and plenty of local convenience stores in the same block. It was walking distance from the Intrepid Museum and many other places of interest.
"Skyline Hotel in NYC"
Good if you are looking for a place to stay last minute in the city. No flashy amenities but serves its purpose.
"Skyline Hotel NYC"
I chose this hotel based on reviews others had submitted, most of which were very positive. I was not at all disappointed. The size of the room with 2 queen beds was more than ample for my 2 adult daughters and me. Actually the room was very spacious with a dressing area for putting on make-up, fixing hair , etc., an executive area with desk, as well […] as a very spacious bathroom. The beds were so comfortable with down under the sheet coverlets. I really felt like I was in a very fine hotel, but one that was very affordable. Most of all, the area was very quiet which made for good sleeping; it was an easy walk to Times Square. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and felt very safe there. I can't wait to stay there again. The restaurant connected to the Skyline was just mediocre; I probably would not eat there again. Service was slow, and the food was not that bad but not that great. either. Read more

"Skyline Hotel in NY easy to get in and out"
The hotel was excellent in all respects except for the price. It was in no way worth the price per night the we paid. I have been in many U.S. cities and paid less for rooms of equal comfort with much better views of anything.
"skyline hotel"
nice big room. good price for the location. nice clean hotel. a little walk to times square but it was close enough.
"Skyline: a high-quality hotel in a great location"
I have stayed at the Skyline before and it is still a beautiful hotel and an excellent value. While many hotel rooms in New York City can tend to be rather small, the Skyline's rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained (as is the entire hotel). Hotel staff are very polite and knowlegeable and accomodating. A matter of a couple of blocks or so to […] all the big theaters, and very close to the major points of interest. Highly recommended. "Reasonable value for a business trip"
Stayed one night on business trip. Sharp new lobby, helpful concierge. Rooms are small but about average size for Manhattan. New TVs, but beds and carpet are a bit tired. Very poor sound insulation in my room, so I heard a lot of conversation from the hall and neighboring rooms.
"Skyline Hotel in Hell's Kitchen"
I've stayed in many hotels in NYC; a quick trip to The City from my home in Alexandria is always a big treat! I'd never stayed in Hell's Kitchen neigborhood, though ... it was a very interesting change. Lower rise buildings and less intense than midtown. Although not as "New York" as many midtown properties, the Skyline has two great things going for […] it; a wonderful heated swimming pool and cheap parking for guests. We had a good stay and would return again for those two amenities alone! Read more
"It's okay"
For the price this hotel is fine. It's a few blocks from Times Square and Central Park. It lacks one basic feature, a coffee maker.

The hotel has a great feel and look, the rooms were big and room service was very good. I think it has the more classic hotel feel and the sense of privacy was very good.
"Skyline Hotel"
It is very convenient to the West Side Highwy, but just a few blocks to Time Square. It is a quieter there than near Time Square. The outsiede looked from teh 60's but inside it was completely remodeled. Parking at the hotel is a bargain and they have a bar and a restaurant.
"Skyline hotel on 10 ave close to Times Square"
Our Daughter wanted to go to Times Square for her Birthday. We chose Skylines hotel and so happy we did. They had to upgrade us to a suite. Was very people friendly, clean, and comfortable. I would def. go there again.
"the hotel was wonderful the parking not"
the hotel had ample rooms at a great price. It was perfect for the wedding we were attending at the Russian Tea Room. The problem happened when we arrived. I am a 61 year old woman and we were coming down for 4 days. We had luggage. We were directed to a place where we could not unload. We had told them at the gate we needed to unload and they forced […] us to move down. This meant we were stuck down a big ramp with cars honking at us driven by rude attendants who informed us they were "busy now". My elderly husband and i had to dodge valet parking drivers and haul all our luggage up to the lobby while almost being run over, being yelled at, no one helped us at all. Not only that we were berated for being too slow. Well call me naive. I am not from NYC but I know rude when I see it. And the parking people were not just not helpful but made my back go out of line and my husband's hernia pop out. There needs to be a clear place to unload or there needs to be carts down at the bottom or bell hops. This just would not work for elderly, or people with kids (they would be road kill) or anyone with a lot of luggage. Parking was a nightmare. We didn't even get a ticket and then they tried to give my husband guff about not validating it. He told them a thing or two and we still had to pay, but only $10. Otherwise the place was great. Excellent location, good value,WILL STAY AGAIN,TRY THE PIZZA ACROSS THE STREET.
"DANGEROUS SECURITY ISSUES!!!!!!!!!"
The room was clean, the hotel smelled fresh and looked nice. Staffing was excellent and very very helpful BUT I HOPE THAT YOU WILL RELAY THIS INFO TO THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT!!!!! During the early morning hours the main lobby is unmanned, I mean there is no one at the desk or reception area!! This happened every night we were there. We went out several […] times during the night to smoke at the front outside entrance. We saw no staff during our long walk from our room, in the elevator or lobby area. The desk clerks are somewhere else in the hotel On one occasion I saw a homeless person walk into the lobby and stay at least 5 minutes. He then walked out to us and asked for money and cigarettes. We would give him neither and he berated us. This is an extreme security risk to the hotel patrons! Read more

"Pretty good deal"
This placed surprised me as to how nice it was. Great price and service and location. The only issue was the electrical plugs in the room only had two slots and did not accept 3 prong plugs except in the bathroom.

"Decent... for a motel."
I booked this hotel because my usuals in midtown were extremely expensive during time I was visiting, while this was the only one within my budget in the area. The room I booked was the twin. Space-wise, it is OK (even big for NY standards). However, it had a very motel-feel to the bed, the sheets, the air system, the dim lighting. The shower was making […] noises at night. The drapes did not close all the way to block out the streetlights completely at night. I decided that it was pretty clean, but that does not come across at first because of the dark decor. Also, a few negatives that made the experience decidedly worse: (1) I cut my finger (unrelated) and the lobby had an old first aid kit without any bandaids. No offer to get some, just told me to go to the store. (2) Although room service is supposed to be offered until 11pm, no one answered when I called at 10:30. When I called the lobby, I was told the kitchen people apparently had left. (3) It is not as close to the subways as the hotels I usually stay at (the closest station is across two avenues which is the distance of 4-5 blocks), although a crosstown bus does drop off across the street. (4) There are not a lot of food choices in the immediate walking area after 11pm. (5) I thought it was me being paranoid when I felt a little itchy in bed (because of the overall impression of the place), but I did get one bug bite on my arm over night. Given all of the experience, I would have opted to pay more to stay somewhere else. I will not be back. Read more

"skyline hotel"
The hotel is certainly not luxurious in any way; it is good value for the price I paid; I was not expecting much and was not disappoited. The location is good and the staff was pleasant, so if you are looking for a decently priced hotel in NYC, this is not a bad choice.
"The Hotel Skyline very well located"
I liked the hotel very much. I ask only to have something in the small refrigerator. Thanks Antonio

"Glad we stayed!"
The Skyline Hotel is perfect for a weekend getaway in the city. It's right across from a great 24/7 deli, and is close to everything. People were very friendly, we even got upgraded! Loved it!
"very bad service"
I took 5 of my emloyees last week to thishotel after I saw great reviews but when we got there the AC in one of the rooms was not working and instead of fixing it or replacing the room, they gave him floor fans!! when i told them that i didnt came to a "no ac" motel they react in a very not nice way and didnt solve our problem and kept telling us "but […] we gave you fans"!! UNBELIVBLE this is the last time im using this hotel! Read more
"Skyline"
Hotel was decieving from the outside until you walk in, then it is very nice. Cheapest parking garage I have ever used in any hotel in New York.

"Excellent Concierge!!!"
Having stayed at several Manhattan hotels over the years, The concierge named Crystal was one of the best I have ever encountered. We were traveling with friends from Brazil who spoke limited english and Crystal was a tremendous help with ideas.
"Great experience"
The hotel was in a good area. Not far to walk to Times Square. I would stay here again.
"Great location, great rooms"
Stayed for 2 nights, 2 families with 5 kids. Great location, decent walk to subway but very convenient to get to all the tourist spots. Rooms with the queens are in the newer section and very large for what you'd expect. Double rooms were older and smaller but great for the price and still larger than some other hotels in the area. Parking much more […] affordable than other hotels, big reason we chose this hotel b/c we had needed to park an suv for 2 days. Read more
"Skyline Hotel in New York - clean and convenient"
We stayed at the Skyline Hotel and found it very nice. The room was great and the location was within walking distance of Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Parking ($10 a day) was very reasonable. Compared to the price of other hotels we had considered, Skyline was a very good deal.
