"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"Good mid-price choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.
"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Close but not too close"
Price for quality was well worth it. We did not want to be directly in the heart of the action and still wanted nice accomodations. This fit the bill to a tee. 8 rooms to a floor also gave it more of a private feel.
"Great place to stay!"
My sister & I were given a corner room with a great view on 27th floor. Expected to get one queen bed but were given two! Room very clean and could not hear city noise from so far up. Were pleasantly surprised to see that room was equipped with mini fridge and bathrobes as well as a very nice closet. Great water pressure in shower! Hotel provided parking […] at reasonable rate in their own garage with anytime in/out permission. Only complaint is that the high-speed internet service was very spotty. Read more

we always stay at the Blue Horizon when in Vancouver as it is close to everything downtown (just have to step out the front door and you're at all the stores, restaurants and coffee shops) and very roomy for a family of 4. The view is always great also. Reasonable rates.

"Blue Horizon Hotel, Vancouver, BC"
We have been staying at the Blue Horizon for over 20 years and find it continues to be one of the best deals in town. Consistently clean and well-kept rooms and facilities, helpful staff, and great location with good transit service. On-site parking (though for a fee) also makes this convenient when traveling by car.

"Blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver - great location"
Hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. Gastown and even Granville Market (although it's a little bit of a hike) are within walking distance. Staff was generally pretty helpful. The room was very large although the bathroom was pretty tight.
"Van Couver BC"
Hotel was in the middle of Robinson St and a very happening location. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Although I found some hair on the floor of the bathroom, (not mine) it was clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and had recently been remodled. I felt I had spent a couple of hundred dollars more than I had. We had a corner room and the view […] of the city was terrific. I would stay here again. Read more

"Blue Horizon - Best Location in ALL of Vancouver"
I recently visited Vancouver and stayed in the best location for a hotel ever!!! It is right in the center of EVERYTHING!! The Trolley, Bus and Big Bus all stop right in front of the hotel. You have shops and dining if you turn left or turn right for as far as the eye can see. Walking distance to everything the Vancouver has to offer including Gastown, […] Yaletown, and easy way to catch anything to go further, like Stanley Park and North Vancouver. Robson street is Fashion capitol and if you like shopping, stay here, you can shop all day and just keep dropping it off at the hotel (hear that, no more carrying bags forever men!!) You can hit Grandville Street and the bay and City Center from this central location. only problem i had is that if you want a goo view, you will need to go to the superior suites, lower suites are nice but have a not so great view. Also, the Customer service is OUTSTANDING!! they can tell you anything you need to know and if they don't know, they always have Google up to get you whatever info they need. I love this hotel and would stay here again the next time i visit Vancouver!!! Read more
"Loved the Blue Horizon!"
We recently spent 3 nights at the Blue Horizon hotel in Vancouver. It was a very pleasant experience! The most lucky thing was that the hotel is located on a nice street (Robson street); it's near downtown but in an upper-scale section of residential high rises and nice shops. I had no fear of walking down the well-lit street at night. There are plenty […] of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and great views of the city. Upon arrival we were told we'd been upgraded from a standard 1-queen-bed room to a 2-queen-bed room, which made our room 100 square feet bigger (from 300 to 400 sf)! It was very spacious and comfortable. Two walls have windows and every room has a balcony. There's a large closet and plush bathrobes. The TV is big and there's a mini-fridge. The bathroom is small considering the size of the rest of the room, but it was fine for the two of us. We got a good deal on hotels.com and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality to price ratio, especially considering what an expensive city Vancouver is known to be. If our travels take us back to Vancouver we will stay at the Blue Horizon again. Read more
"Blue Horizon - Value and Location"
I've stayed at many of Vancouver's hotels, from budget to luxury, and the Blue Horizon sits in between. The location in the midst of Robson can't be beat, the views are great, and the beds are comfy. I found it curious that this hotel has an "official" 3-star rating but a 4-1/2-star rating from travelers themselves...well, it doesn't have some of the […] touches and amenities of a luxury hotel but what they do, they do well. Check-in was fast, but I know that can vary widely (NEVER expect fast check-in or check-out at the hotel's check-out time) and when we misplaced our keys they were cheerfully replaced. Parking is of course extra but at one of the lowest rates of any Vancouver hotel. The room itself was great (read the other reviews regarding the views) if modestly appointed. The coffeemaker needed replacing (they just get permanent coffee stains after a while and they're cheap to replace) but otherwise it was clean. Although they've got their own restaurant (yet no room service) and bar, being right there on Robson meant all of my favorites were nearby. I will definitely stay at the Blue Horizon again. Read more

We loved both our stays at Blue Horizon in September. The front desk staff even helped us get priority seating at Joe Fortes for dinner to honor my birthday. We loved the balcony views and our room was clean with all the conveniences needed. We had breakfast once at the hotel and it was yummy. We would love to stay here again. Parking is expensive but […] all partking downtown is expensive. Read more

"Blue Horizon-Downtown Vancouver"
We have stayed at this hotel over the years; it only gets better. Our huge room was newly redecorated and exceptionally pleasant--no edgy or over-trendy decor. Location is outstanding and most rooms have spectacular views. Great value in the center of a major city! Parking spaces in the parkade are rather snug (good for mid-size or smaller only) and […] not too secure--accessible from the street. Food in the cafe was excellent. Read more

Blue Horizon is very conveniently located in the trendy area of Robson Street. We were able to walk to Stanley Park and Gastown easily. There are great restaurants and shops nearby. We had a very well appointed and spacious room with a balcony and beautiful panoramic view of downtown Vancouver from the 29th floor. It was very clean and comfortable and […] a great value! Breakfast in the lobby level sidewalk cafe was very good with a varied menu selection. It was our first visit to Vancouver and we were very pleased with the hotel which seemed to be very reasonable for the city. Would highly recommend it. Read more

"Blue Horizon Hotel"
This Hotel was recommended to me by a co-worker who stayed at the Blue Horizon 15 years ago. I told him I was very satisfied with everything,
"A little disappointed"
While my room was "updated", it wasn't comfortable. The bathtub was old with grungy non-slip stickers on the bottom. If I left the closet door open, then it blocked the entrance to the bathroom. I could hear conversations in the rooms on either side of my room. No wi-fi, a $3 charge to print out my boarding pass. The staff was friendly, which may have […] been the best part of the hotel experience. Read more
"The Blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver, BC"
The hotel is strategically located in the City of Vancouver. Great views of the city from every room. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

"Great hotel"
Very modern and in the center of all. gym and lap pool available. Dining outside if you like. Good value.
"Great downtown location"
Clean pleasant confortable room in a great downtown location. This area of Robson Street is teeming with restaurants of all sorts and interesting shops, and is in walking distance to many Vancouver sites. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we had a great view from the balcony. Wish they had free wifi.
"Great Location"
The location is great and the hop-on, hop-off trolly stops in front of the hotel, making it easy to get around town. The room was spacious, but the dust mites in all the bedding drove my allergies crazy!! The in-house restaurant served good breakfasts at a reasonable price.
"Blue horizon"
Very convenient to many things in area. Breekfast in hotel restuarant was very good
"Blue Horizon on Robson"
If you want a place to stay that is in a lively area, then stay here! Robson is a street with lots of shops, restaurants, bars and people. It also had a "hop on, hop off" tourist bus location right outside their door so it was very convenient. There were many, many interesting stores and restaurants. You really don't need to drive when you stay here. […] We got around quite well. Though the street was busy on a Saturday night, the hotel was very quiet. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The only complaint was that we had to ask for shampoo and conditioner. There was none in our bathroom. It was brought up right away though when we asked for it. If I were going to Vancouver again, I'd stay here. Reasonable rates, clean hotel, friendly staff and a fun area. Read more

"No Wifi?!"
I stayed at this hotel for a business conference as is was recommended by a website hosting the show. The price was fair and upon initial seeing the place I thought it would be great. However Iearned when I got up to my room after checking in that the hotel is NOT equipped with Wifi internet service, each room has 1 hardware (ethernet wire) to plug […] in to access internet. Being that I was traveling with only my Macbook air and ipad (both with no ethernet port) I realized that there was no way I would be able to handle my emails etc. from the hotel room. When I went down to the front desk to explain this the staff was very rude and told me they would have to charge for 1 night, no exceptions. I ended up having to find a local mac store and purchase an adapter just to stay at this hotel, and this left me binded to the desk my whole stay. Nice hotel but they really need to understand the importance of wireless internet, it is 2011 not 1998!!!!! Read more
"Blue Horizon"
The concept is good. Balconies, corner rooms, etc. but the rooms are cramped, the halls are tiny and the elevators are clostrophobic. The decor is good but the curtains are ominpou and difficult to manage. Where are the chairs on the balconies?

"Excellent!"
We got a great price for this very popular location. The room was newly furnished and exceptionally comfortable. Turns out every room here is a corner balcony with a great view. Weekend street noise not a problem...very quiet with the windows closed. Robson Street is the place to stay in Vancouver. We wish we'd stayed here again on the way back thr […] ough! Read more
"good hotel but technical issues"
overall i can recommend the hotel. good location ( i went to a convention in the convention center and it was only 10 min walk from the hotel to the convention center). many restaurants and shops nearby. there are even small grocery stores nearby. Except for one little thing that was annoying. i had no internet access the last day i stayed. all suddenly […] i could not connect to the internet (broadband modem...no wifi). I so called the front desk and they connected me to the technical service. Then i was spending 20 min on the phone telling the person all kinds of technical settings and in the end they could not help me. So they said that they would call me back and try to resolve the problem. I said that I am a "guest" in the hotel and I am not going to spend my last evening in front of my computer trying to get my internet to run again. So that was rather disappointing experience for me esp. when you have to check your emails ...in the end i had to use my cell phone with roaming to check my emails. ;( Read more
"Blue Horizon Hotel is a Great Value in Vancouver"
I was nervous at first booking a room at the Blue Horizon because several reviews mentioned it was being renovated. But the renovations (at least to the rooms) seemed to be complete by the time I arrived in Vancouver. I couldn't have been happier with my choice! The Blue Horizon is in the heart of downtown Vancouver and everything I wanted to see was […] within an easy 5 -15 minute walk. The renovations are quite nice. The rooms are moderately sized, as are the bathrooms, but they're all quite comfortable and lovely. Every room is a "corner" room, so you're guaranteed to have something of a view. I booked a higher floor room (2204) and the views were amazing, both during the day and night. The swimming pool area could use a renovation. Hopefully that's next on their list. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and will certainly come back to the Blue Horizon. Read more

"Friendly Staff"
Recently stayed at this hotel in August 2011. The front desk staff were very pleasant and friendly. The location was great. The only problem I had was a strange chemical smell from the carpets in the elevator and hallways that was very strong and actually made me ill by the 3rd day of our stay. The bed was also a little lumpy for me, however my husband […] fell it was comfortable for him. Read more
"Wireless connection"
The internet was useless to us because the computers that we have are only wireless. We would be more likely to stay there again if the hotel is wireless.
