"Excellent location and close to everything"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel and staff are wonderful and we will definitely stay there on our next visit to Barcelona! The room was very clean and neat and the daily maid service was exceptional. The front desk staff was very professional and courteous. Wi-Fi in the room was excellent. Walking out of the hotel and looking up at the Cathederal every morning was surreal. Beautiful hotel and wonderful location!

The hotel was clean and neat, the staff very helpful, and the bathroom was great. We also found the price fair and reasonable. The view out of the back of the hotel was not the best- apartment back porches and dirty laundry, so keep the curtains closed.

"Unbelievably Great Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed for a five night family vacation. Our room for three was very nice with a king bed and sofa bed. Efficiency kitchen with dishes and silverware and cookware. Compact refrigerator. Very well located in Eixample neighborhood one block from metro station. Easy walk to many restaurants and the Passieg Gracia or upper part of the Rambla Cataluna. However the BEST was the service of the front desk. Whatever the request they were ceaseless in their efforts to please and accommodate. Information, directions, recommendations for eating and transportation, ticketing. The staff could not do enough for us. This is service that is rare to find in the amenities industry: a true personal touch. My family can heartily recommend the Acacia Suites for a Barcelona vacation. The only negative for some is that it is not located directly on Plaza Cataluna or the Rambla but if you want a quieter neighborhood, with a local feel it is a very nice place.
"Good and reasonably priced hotel!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
It is easily reached by L99 bus from the airport for 2 EUR. Exit just before police station. Ask the driver to let you know when to exit (police station). After you exit the bus, continue moving forward few hundred yards and turn left to a walk (road) railway overpass. Continue further until you will see the hotel on your left. It is about 10-15 minutes to walk. Railway station is about 25 minutes and the ride to the city is somewhere from 15 -30 minutes depending how many stops. The beach is only 15 minutes walk. I had a great stay, the safe didn't work, and the breakfast was accidentally not included despite I chose the higher rate. Hotels.com told me pay for it and send them receipt to be reimbursed.

Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.

"Hotel Silken Ramblas Barcelona"
Great location, decent hotel and a staff that was a little on the grumpy side. Not very helpful at all. The buffet breakfast was way overpriced and there are better alternatives for eating very nearby. That said, I would stay there again for the price and the location.
This hotel is in a convenient location in Barcelona and the condition is better than acceptable.
"Barcelona great hotel in a perfect location"
Everything was excellent. Clean room, good bed, helpful staff. The location is just steps from where you want to be. Excellent restaurant next door, steps to Las Ramblas, quiet side street.
"It was dirty and noisy."
Upon walking into our room, the first thing we say was the stained and disgusting carpet. It was filthy. That was the first problem. The other problem we had was with the noise in the hallway. We could hear everything - every footstep, every word spoken, and practically every breath. It sounded as if our door wasn't even closed. For the price, you […] can do much better. Read more
"Silken Hotel Barcelona SP"
Great location to walk Rambla, take the metro or bus. Nice restaurants in area but over priced. Only negative to Hotel (not their falut) was constant loud street noise (loud talking, traffic) 24 hours a day everyday. Noise could be turned down by closing the balcony door, but weather was great making it hard to close the door.
"convenient & reasonably priced"
A great value. The staff was courteous and helpful. Room was clean and well appointed.Location was convenient.
"beautiful hotel great location"
We were extremely pleased to be in this wonderful hotel...near to La Rambla & all its activity...great room & comfortable roof top pool...staff was very helpful with all our requests... would try to reserve a non-street facing room next time...the fantastic parade outside our room (celebrating Barcelona festival) fun to watch but loud when we wanted […] to sleep(bring earplugs!) hotel lobby is stunning! certainly lives up to its 4 stars rating...fantastic deal! "Silken Ramblas - luxury and convenience"
The location of this hotel was perfect for touring Barcelona. It was within close proximity to one of the "hop on hop off" bus stops and nearby restaurants. The hotel itself was very comfortable. My only complaint would be the lighting in the room. It made it very difficult to apply my makeup evenly. Also, I wish that there would've been an iron and […] ironing board available in the room. Overall, I had a very good experience with this hotel. I would stay here again in the future. Read more
"great location - room ok"
I recommend this hotel with the following explanation. I rate the staff, lobby, cleanliness and sundeck very highly- "European" 4 star. Great location without any street noise. However my "discounted" 1st floor double room was only a 3 star. Although the bathroom was clean & new, the shower was a disaster. Designed incorrectly with a small half door, […] the bathroom floor flooded with every shower regardless of whether you hand held the shower head or not. We didnt appreciate having to mop the floor every day. Also our 1st floor room's toilet must have been on the same plumbing line as the public toilets in the lobby. Every time the lobby toilet flushed, we heard it in our room - at any hour of the day or night. I would recommend checking in, leaving your bags at the front desk, checking out the room & bath and if not ok, immediately ask for an upgrade. Read more
"Hotel Silken Ramblas Barcelona - Great Location"
The Silken Ramblas is located in a gret location that is easy to get to from the airport and just 2 blocks from the Ramblas. We found the hotel staff to be very accomodating, the rooms were clean and modern. The pool on the top has great views and is perfect for cooling down after a day of sight seeing. To get to the hotel from the airport take the […] Aerobus (5,30 euros you pay on the bus, follow the rent a car signs to their location outside the terminal). Get off at the last stop Plaza Catalunya. Walk down the Ramblas about 3 or four blocks to Pintor Fortuny on the right. The small plaza between the hotel and the Ramblas has several good tapa bars. We really enjoyed Lobo Cafe. The only real negative about the hotel is that the rooms are not very sound proof. We could hear the toilet flush from rooms above and some noise from adjoining rooms. We were on the first floor try to get higher if possible. Read more
"Silken Ramblas"
Nice, clean hotel. Very helpful staff. Great location-close to the action but away from the noise.
"Hotel Silken Ramblas & the must-see"
The Hotel Silken Ramblas is a great location for all must-see sights. Every one working at the hotel is extra kind and satisfied all our needs.
"Great Stay in Barcelona"
I would highly recommend the Hotel Silken Ramblas. It is perfectly located close enough to the Ramblas for maximum fun but just far enough away that you are able to escape the noise and bustle of the crowds. The staff spoke excellent English and they couldn't have been more helpful.
this hotel is great.,.......location....location.....location......rite in the hearth of the city.....plus the market....plus all
"Silken Ramblas in Barcelona"
Hotel staff was excellent and very cooperative. Room was large and very comfortable.
"wifi was not working!"
My entire stay the wifi was a nightmare. I had to go to other hotels in order to get my work done.
"Hotel Silken, Barcelona just off Ramblas"
Excellent locartion. 1/2 block off Ramblas, 1 block from Ramblas Opera house, 2 blocks from City Center. Tapas bar across narrow Spanish street and grocerires and Best outdoor market we've seen less than 5 minutes walking. Hotel condition is in need of minor repairs (nicks in doors kind of things) but v clean and hospitable. Location is the best! Easy […] walking to many sights, activities and espescially the Ramblas with all the street entertainers, kiosk markets and atmosphere. Read more
The Silken Ramblas Hotel was chosen mainly for its very convenient location and that could not have been better.

"Hear your neighbours"
Good location, close to Ramblas. Clean but small rooms. The rooms are very noisy. If you like to hear your neighbours making love or using the bathroom, that is the place to go. If you dont't like that, go elsewhere.
"Silken Ramblas"
Great location. Only one block to La Ramblas. Close walk to get a tour bus or go to old town or catch a Flamenco show. Many restaurants and shops near by and close to metro station. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and beds very comfortable but could have been more updated. Needed a few repairs but they were taken care of quickly. […] I think price we paid was a little high. Read more

"Silken Ramblas"
The hotel staff was helpful and attentive. Location is very convenient to downtown/Ramblas area. The restaurant fare was somewhat bland and had few menu items, but many other options are nearby.
Hotel services above expectations. My husband had an allergic reaction to a medication and they were extremely helpful. They called an English speaking doctor for us and kept checking to let us know when he would arrive. The problem was solved in short order and they were truly concerned with how he was feeling later in the day. Great location too!

"GREAT LOCATION - GREAT HOTEL! Will stay again!"
this is a great hotel. If anyone travels to europe you would know that transportation to and from the airport can be very costly. Airport has a shuttle bus to catalunya which is TEN minutes walk to the hotel. Most convenient I've seen in Europe. WIll stay again and recommend to anyone going to Barcelona.
"internet services, NOISY ROOM"
COMPLEX ACCESESS, POOR SIGNAL IN THE ROOM, EXTREMELY SLOW CONNECTION. BECAUS OF THAT SKYPE AND MAIC JACK DID NOT WORK COULD HEAR CONVERSATION AND MOANING AND CRING IN THEROOM NEXT DOOR

"Silken Ramblas - Barcelona"
For the budget conscious, this is the best European hotel we've stayed in when price, location, accomodations, quality and personnel are considered.
"Great Value"
Really great value in an incredible location! Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, museums. Would definitely book again.
"I couldn't imagine a better location!"
I was very happy with this hotel. The location couldn't have been any better. It is a short walk to the Metro, Major transportation square and perfectly located for wandering around the Barri Gothic area. The room could use a coat of paint but was very clean. We also could not quite figure out the heat/air controls and just opted to sleep with the window […] open instead. The street outside was a bit noisy but I think would not have been if the window had been closed. The shower set-up was odd by western standard but the water preasure was great and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel staff was very helpful and all spoke english. Read more

"Great for the money"
Hotel is in a centralized location, good to reserve through a US site, bc of the euro-dollar conversion. very centrally located, see about getting a room off the main street, it can get a bit loud.
"Great room for the money"
The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They all spoke English and made every effort to meet our needs.

"Great location, room more than sufficient"
The hotel is in a great location, just off the Rambla, by the metro, convenient to everything. Roof pool a big plus in the heat of Barcelona. The rooms need to be spruced up somewhat, but bathroom has good room and excellent shower. The major detractor is that the room walls are very thin -- we could hear the guy in the next room snoring! Also, the […] set-up of our room made it difficult to get into the closet because of the closeness of the bed. However, closet drawer space quite good. Overall, we would definitely stay there again. "outstanding"
Hotel location is perfect. Very clean and staff was easy to deal with and very helpful.
"Good option"
This a nice hotel, particularly for the price and location (just off the Rambla). The service generally was good, though no concierge service. The pool on room is nice. The facility is a bit faded but very clean. I also stayed at European Gran Marina for work and moved up to the Silken when I stayed with my spouse for the weekend. The Gran Marina is […] a very nice hotel that I would highly recommend for business. Its a bit farther away at the harbor but another good option though a lot more money. The Rambla is really crowded with tourists. For a quieter area, Las Gracias is a nice option (more upscale and closer to Gaudi buildings). If you do stay at Silken, there is a great tapas bar just outside the hotel called Miranda. Also The Terrace across the Rambla from Pintor Fourtnoy has a great roof terrace overlooking Rambla. "Great location - nice hotel"
It was quiet and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were clean. Beds were great - very big and the room was rather large. The bathroom was a little musty and it wasn't exactly 5 star, but we enjoyed our stay
"For Smokers"
Our confirmed reservation was for two non-smoking rooms. We got two smoking rooms and the odor was very bad. One of the two rooms was changed to a non-smoking room, but there were no more non-smoking rooms available. Not happy about that.
"Good location to La Ramblas"
Only ate breakfast there. Not very impressed with food.

"great value"
Located in the heart of the action on the Ramblas (draw back to that is that there is a considrable amount of noise) but never the less, this hotel is a great value for the money. Clean well maintained with a friendly knowledgble staff.
"Outstanding hotel"
From the rooftop swimming pool to the elegant and intimate lobby with a waterfall fountain, the comfy beds to the quiet, well-appointed room, this hotel couldn't have been better. Friendly, competent service, great central location; a haven in the midst of this busy and wildly energetic city!
