My daughter and I stayed here on our recent trip. Hotel was very close to freeway access, a couple decent restaurants and a Mall. Breakfast was pretty substantial to start the day. Hot tub area very clean and hotel considerably quiet (we stayed on the third floor). Lobby was inviting, used computer to print boarding passes, no issues at all. Our room […] was clean, tried to hang up our towels to re-use, but housekeeping always gave us new, clean ones anyway. Walls kept out noise, room temp very comfortable (we just slept with window cracked 3"), plenty of hot water, bed was pretty comfy for a hotel bed, and price was a very good value. Only a couple downsides: they have three parking lots, the one closest to the main entrance was always full. The second closest lot was hit or miss, but the entrance door there was broken. The third (and farthest lot) was always open, but that access door was always locked. So, leaving the hotel never a problem, just trying to get back in was...lastly, only one elevator at the front of the building, our room was on third floor, all the way in the back, so lots of trips back and forth to hot tub, breakfast area, or just coming and going for days activities. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable, value stay in Portland, OR. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Central location outside of downtown Portland."
My stay was great. Friendly, helpful staff. Have stayed here many times before and they were able to upgrade me to a larger room. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and fast food places. It's just a short ride to downtown Portland and easy access to places east, like Mt. Hood, Gresham, etc...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to sleep, close to light rail"
We flew to Portland from Iowa and rented a car. Car was really not used much exept to go to the mountains...we were worried about finding parking downtown Portland but with the light rail so close we never had to drive in. Very friendly staff. Decor outdated but since we were just sleeping when there it didn't even matter. Would stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review

"Major front desk problems!"
I called the day before I arrived to let them know I needed to use their FREE shuttle service from the airport and was told it would be no problem. I called from the airport and was told there was no driver and I would have to take a cab. This cost me 40.00 with trip and they would not reimburse me And were rude when I asked. The next day the desk person […] could not tell me how to get to the train station or what bus to take into Portland or what web site to use to check on line !!! So I had to take a cab into Portland, costing me an additional 30.00!!! The cab driver showed me where the station for the train is, a short 3 block walk from hotel and told me what train to take and what web site to use. The neighborhood is not great at night with 3 strip clubs within 2 blocks of the hotel Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An Okay Hotel"
My stay was uneventful. The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was a single and very small. The comforter was thin with most of the fill in the corners and little fill in the middle. I felt like I was sleeping with a sheet and little else. The bathroom was smaller than my home closet. The door opened inward with 1/2 inch clearance from the tub. […] To close the door, you had to squeeze between the tub and toilet which had less than a foot between them. The coffee maker in my room had issues. It would turn itself off every few seconds. The only way to keep it working was to jiggle the electrical cord while standing next to it until it finished brewing. I should have reported it to the front desk but didn't. That said, the per night price was reasonable and the room was clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We were attending our daughters wedding close to the neighborhood. The Ramada was easy to get to, the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was great with biscuts and gravy, scrambled eggs, toast, yogurt and the list goes on, not just your typical continental breakfast. We had requested 2 beds and our room had only one king bed. […] There were 3 of us travelling together. They were able to get us a roll away. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a great neighborhood but okay i"
Staff gave me the wrong directions so what was easy to find became an hour of traffic messes The neighborhood is nothing and not inviting for any walking or running, but easy access to freeways Workout room minimal. Hot tub with no privacy Liked the soap!Genuine Expedia guest review
I stayed here 1 night because my 1st choice (Ramada Airport) was not available. The hotel is newer than my first choice and a little further out from the airport. The street it's on has a lot of strip clubs and bars which gives the sense that this is not the best neighborhood in town. I was ending a vacation (son was driving) and we were able to find […] an Olive Garden a short distance ride away. Couple of choices there - might be a cab ride if you aren't renting a car. Checking in, I signed up for the shuttle the next morning (goes by room #) and was told "right at front door" Checked out next morning and was in the pickup spot 5 minutes early. I saw a Radio Cabs pull up and take a couple off and then later another who took a different group. Checked my time when they left and it was 2 minutes after the shuttle was scheduled. I go in and ask if the shuttle was running late - the desk person says "No, you were supposed to get in the cab" Might have been nice if either the desk person at night who took my shuttle reservation had mention this or the am desk person who had just checked me out by room number had said "No shuttle, we are using cabs today". Or a sign or something people. Fortunately, they were able to get another cab there but "tell him he has to come in the lobby to get paid". Maybe the desk person forgot to tell the driver that too. I made the flight but did not need the last minute stress. I will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The hotel was close to all that we planned to do-"
We were welcomed even though our flight arrived late. We enjoyed having a few hot items for breakfast including protein items. The employees working the breakfast did an excellent job of keeping the items replenished and cleaned up. There was a nice variety of food items offered. Might be nice to also offer bananas as a fresh fruit. The ladies did a […] good job keeping our room clean and providing clean linens. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Only complaint was that we had a hot tub in our room but it was not in operation. There seemed to be some soft spots under the carpet that seemed as though the floor was gone or rotted under the carpet which bothered me. Might have been nice to have two chairs in the room so our backs wouldn't hurt while watching T.V. Liked the hot cookies. Liked the location, near to the shopping center and some restaurants since we were from 1700 miles away and didn't know where to start looking for restaurants. Thanks for a good stay. "Great stay for the average traveler"
Only things I would comment on are: stiff bed gave me a sore back in the morning, TV in exercise room did not work (although the front counter girl busted her but to try and make it work, Thank you), and neighborhood was a bit trashy/ghetto feeling. Would I stay here again... Yes. Easy access to freeways, OUTSTANDING breakfast choices (although the […] eggs were undercooked in my opinion), overall feel of the hotel was up to modern standard.. except the Elevator door.. I could have walked up all 3 stories before that door opened and closed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too shabby..."
I really can't complain. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the TV was newer, though sometimes the reception was bad. The staff was pleasant, the free breakfast was... well, it was free. I didn't use the hot tub or gym so I can't say anything about that. The location was convenient for shopping, but not the best area (I lived in Portland for 6 years […] so I'm familiar with the area). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good, Not great"
They answer the phone that they are award winning. I don't see it. Staff member at check in was sitting down the entire evening. Even when checking people in. Parking is horrible if you show up after 8. Breakfast was poor selection and poor quality. just eggs and biscuits/gravy for hot items. eggs were wet, grainy, and completely tasteless. Only plus […] was the oversized tub. Internet quality was low and slow. Sad because the location is awesome. But the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nicest place to stay in area."
Pleasant, fridge/microwave a must, helpful staff but many services unavailable for the odd houred guest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We arrived at about 4:30 pm Friday to a line of people checking in, and only one person on duty. The room was clean enough but it was a chore to find a electric outlet to plug in our phone. They were very few and hard to get to. The toilet seat was very squeaky when you let the lid down. The tv remote didn't work at all. In order to use the coffee maker […] or microwave you had to hunt for an outlet to plug them in as they weren't already plugged in. The bathroom counter space was pretty small. The back entrance door near our parking space didn't open with our key. There was a note that it was out of service. The unit itself was adequate and appeared clean enough, there was just the other issues adding up to being irritating. The room for the rate was okay I would say. I left a note of the issues with the general manager the next morning at check out and she didn't seem to care less. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good for the price, great staff."
Overall, we had a nice stay, especially for the price. The gentleman at the front desk when I checked in was super nice and hospitable. Our room was very clean and smelled nice. The bed was a little hard, but not terrible by any means. My only real complaint is that there are no door closers (ie devices that slow the movement of a door when it closes) […] on any of the room doors, so starting at 6am (I'm assuming from guests getting down to the continental breakfast) we were awakened at least 10 times by very loud, slamming doors. And it persisted all day. No matter the kind of sleep you get, that's a real buzzkill. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and quiet. Good east side location."
Nice place- it was very close to where i needed to be, but would be a drive from downtown. The room was very clean- (the only complaint I had regarding that was the chemical/medicinal smell of whatever cleaner they used). Some of the towels were a bit scratchy, but the newer looking ones were soft. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was quite good- hot […] buffet and lots of fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads and pastries to choose from. Pretty quiet for a room facing a busy street. I'd stay there again. "staff asked me for directions!"
I had to get a room at 10:45pm because there were inches of snow. Yes, inches. Conversation with the airport shuttle driver goes like this: (Me) "Are you the shuttle for Ramada South East?" which is what the person on the phone said I should ask for. (Driver) "Yes-that's on 205, right?" (Me) "Uh, I have no idea-you are the one who lives here." Driver […] gets to the hotel close by, and I tip him because it's late, and there is snow in Portland. We'll not mention the chains on the wheels that sound like I'm in the middle of an MRI machine; they were breaking off. (Front desk) "You don't have a room here-it's the other hotel, and we are booked." (Driver comes by) "Sorry!" (Me) "I'll take my tip back, please." Which he did. Next driver for other location was about 45 minutes later, and it's about 5 miles away. Only took about 10 minutes to get back there. Next morning, the slide-by doors were stuck open, so the entire lobby area, including the breakfast bar (with so-so typical food) was about 40 degrees. THIS shuttle's chains had the fortune of just breaking off halfway back to the airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value for the price"
We opted to stay the night here while in town visiting friends. The room looked almost exactly like the one advertised which was great. The light switch by the door seemed to operate the microwave and fridge so there was a beep every time it was flipped on. It took me a minute to figure out that the microwave was resetting and turning on at the same […] time. Which was a little strange. The bed was fairly comfortable, but it could have used one more blanket on it. The only real downside (besides comprising all continental breakfasts of carbs and wheat) was when we returned later in the evening. We tried to use multiple side doors, but they were all 'broken'. We ended up having to walk all the way around to the front of the hotel from the back parking lot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"plus comfort for 19 nights"
I flew to Portland Oregon for the soon to be born first grandson. I needed a place to stay, close to the 'kids' and room to sew, crochet, work on taxes etc. I booked a suite with a mini kitchen. My Mt. Hood suite was huge, I had a king bed with 6 great pillows, 2 large walk in closets, desk, bathroom with tub, 2 flat screen tvs, one in the living-dining […] area and one in the bedroom. Also, I must not forget, they are pet friendly and I brought my dog. He was very happy there and when in bedroom he could not hear (or bark) at guests in the hall way, near the elevator/stairs. They had some trouble with the TV in our first room. Asked if they could fix it while we went out. Wonderful stay for the money; the bed was gigantic and very comfortable, the room was clean and spacious. There were some renovations going on during our stay, which meant the front lobby smelled strongly of fresh paint the night we arrived, but it wasn't problematic. The continental breakfast was fabulous; you can't beat getting good biscuits and gravy […] for free! We chose Ramada because we travel with our dogs. When we arrived we discovered that they had upgraded us to a suite (separate bedroom and 2nd TV). It was very spacious and comfortable with a half-size fridge and a real sink. "Wonderful & Affordable!"
Ramada Portland East was definitely a great choice for our short stay in Portland. For the price of $50/night, we had complimentary hot breakfast every morning (certainly saved us a couple of bucks), maid service came in to clean our room everyday, and the staff were very friendly in greeting us each time we came in and out of the hotel. They also had […] an indoor spa with early morning through late night hours, unlike most hotels, which was cleaned and maintained every night. Definitely a bonus for the cold winter weather!
