The hotel was under construction at the time of our visit, so it was a bit chaotic. but all in all, was a very pleasant experience. Disappointed in the breakfast. Kind of mislead - breakfast on the beach...you had to pack your own breakfast and take it outside across the street. Would prefer a warm breakfast, and not just donuts and fresh fruit. And no restaurant in the hotel for breakfast. Personnel very friendly, hotel clean, public restrooms clean. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff; liked the location on the edge of Waikiki beach development. Room was clean and quiet. Hotel lobby and pool is undergoing remodeling, but not a big deal. We'd stay there again!

our experience was ok we were there while construction was being done on the pool deck, and some of the noise was very annoying, but however they are making it very nice though, rates were fair but would have been better if they didn't charge for everyday amenities such as breakfast, room safe and other stuff cause there were a few mornings that we ate breakfast some where else but we was still charged anyway. But for the money you spend in booking it seems that it's just crazy to throw all these amenity fees when you check out. I totally prefer all inclusive resorts, there is nothing complimentary at this hotel..... You will have outstanding balance when you check out

I wish I knew in advance that they were remodeling. Not too much noise, but some sections were cut off and awkward to get around. It's clean and nice, all the way at the south end of Waikiki beach. Housekeeping was really random, one time they came by at 4pm and one time at like 9am. The ice machine was down on my floor, floor 5. It said go to floor six. Floor six was down and said go to floor 8. Floor 8 was down, and finally floor 9 worked. Breakfast was really light. Cereal, donuts, yoghurt and fruit, pretty much. The activities planners were really helpful and friendly, as was the rest of the staff.

Needed hotel quickly and found this one. It was offering discount so I took it. Room was old and dirty and it was under a remodel that it really needed. It was located across the street from public beach. Not a very nice part of town I felt. Would not recommend this place. Maybe after remodel.

The staff of the hotel was great! They are doing construction which was listed on their website prior to booking, but I was unaware the pool would be closed, however, you are literally on the beach so we never missed the pool. It was a little difficult getting breakfast and checking out the towels for the beach becuase of the construction. We loved the neighborhood! Great places to eat and shop within walking distance and the beach was great!I would stay at this hotel again!

So I did some research before selecting this hotel, I think eveything in this hotel was great, location, value for money, clean rooms, nice staff and best thing they offer breakfast at beach with complimentary chairs and towels! I would recommend to anyone who like something on the beach (across the street), close to restaurants but don't want to pay high. I also got a free upgrade from partial ocean view to ocean view on 20 th floor! Only downside is that rooms and bathrooms are small but you don't spend much time in room plus you have ocean view balcony and free wifi!

Adequate for a place to hang your hat and sleep. Staff friendly and helpful. Not recommended for those who like to lounge or spend time in their rooms. Clean. Bed was comfy. Room itself had updated décor and was pleasant, but no chairs: hi-table only with 2 bench seats. Had partial view of ocean, which was wonderful, but street noise impacted the overall enjoyment of using the small, but ok balcony. Bathrooms satisfactory. Clean but definitely in need of updates. Tub and enclosure was clean and seemed newer; toilet the same. Space for your toiletries but not a lot. Décor in bathroom very outdated, but really: how much time do you spend in the bathroom? It's adequate unless you're a room- or bathroom-dweller while you're on vacation. For us, location was good. Parking not great; irritated by additional "amenity" fee; good wifi connectivity; not a place to stay if you like to hang out in the hotel or in your room for any length of time. We were there at night to sleep, but otherwise, we were gone every day. So it's adequate for a "home base" while you explore the other areas of the island. Would only recommend if, in comparison to cost of others, it is much cheaper - and don't forget that $23/day amenity fee that is tacked on, plus the additional fee for use of safe (which is highly recommended).

Hotel valet was very unmotivated to help us. Every time we called for our car or returned the car the employees were very inattentive and almost ignored us. Then the elevator situation was unaccomodating. Very confusing elevator system with no buttons inside. The elevator is small so unaccomodating for family of 5 with a stroller. The front desk employees weren't anxious to assist us. We got a room without AC not TV. We called down and instead of offering to change us they told us to wait they'll send someone. We waited 1/2 hour with a hungry infant and 2 kids at 9:30pm, we ended up going downstairs to request a change. Then ended up with a much smaller room. The rooms were dirty. They were paving the walkway by the pool so we didn't know the pool was going to be closed. They offer breakfast but it's only rice balls and miso soup. Amenities were none. Won't be staying here again. Location was the best thing about this place.

The hotel staff was fine. The hotel however was under construction the whole time. We couldn't use the pool or the area around it because it was being jack hammered all day. When we left we were charged an anemity fee for internet use, room safe, etc, etc. We did not use these extra's because we only used the room to sleep in. I was a little surprised by that, but it is Hawaii. We probably would not stay there again.

The Aston was under construction at the time. I'm sure the improvements will be amazing. It had a great location across from a public beach. The Aston provided great coffee and a breakfast spread that you could pack in a cooler and take to the beach. This was probably the highlight of the hotel. The rooms were nothing fancy but not bad.

Had our 7th trip to Hawaii and have stayed here each time. A number of times, including recently, we've had problems with the booked room not being what we paid for and called ahead to assure. So, we've often had to pay a few hundred more to get a room on the side of the hotel we prefer even though I called ahead and was told we're set on that side. This time they were renovating. I knew the pool would be closed, what we didn't know was half the elevator bank would be closed which would lead to long waits up and down and very very loud concrete destruction and drilling. Of course there is ZERO discount for this inconvenience. We're now planning to try other hotels.

We just came home from a 3 night stay at Aston wikiki beach hotel. We had an absolutely amazing time and for the price we paid we were overwhelmed with the quality of the hotel and the location! Although the pool was under construction they offered pool service at the hotel next door, but no need when the beach is just across the street! The staff was very friendly and helpful and no doubt will I return to stay here next time I visit Waikiki!

While the hotel is a bit dated, it is clean and the staff is excellent. The breakfast is good and you can pick it up in the cooler the hotel provides and take it to the beach or back up to your room. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every one of them. Had our 6 week old baby with us and enjoyed the large room and how easy it was to walk to shopping and the beach which is right across the street. The parking is something to be aware of as it is $27/night and by Valet only. The general location is the end of Waikiki Beach proper with nice restaurants, coffee houses and upscale shopping all very close. About 45 minutes to Pearl Harbor and the Airport. 1.5 hrs to the North Shore. Highly recommend this hotel. Lower than 5 ratings are because it is a bit dated and under renovation and there was not enough staff at the front desk. Seems like they are staffed o.k. until a bus shows up.

I've stayed at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel several times when staying in Waikiki but this last time the hotel just seemed tired and a bit grungy. The hotel staff was great however. When my air conditioning stopped working the lady at the front desk was really super about getting me a new room and making sure that it was in tip top shape. She was the picture of friendly professionalism. Thing was, when I first checked into the original room, the repairmen were just leaving after supposedly fixing the air conditioning yet it hardly worked the first day and the next day wasn't working at all. That's just part and parcel of the building. Old infrastructure, tired fixtures, bathrooms that need to be gutted and totally redone etc. I'm just ready for something a bit more up to date.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel for the 2 days we stayed in Waikiki, its walkable from all the tourist places on Waikiki beach. The second day, the hotel's lobby was going through upgrade which was very noisy and inconvenient to deal with. The breakfast included is ok except for the fact that it does not include omelets and waffles which you have to pay for.

This hotel has basic amenities in a great location away from the main Waikiki through fare. The main shops are only a 10 min walk and there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Free trolly and taxi are available in front of the lobby. The city bus is around the corner. This hotel is 1 block from the zoo and across the street from the beach. Hotel staff are pleasing and Sean was awesome! The hotel restaurant, Tiki, is a good place to eat and enjoy the ocean view on the outer deck. This hotel shares the same location as the Waikiki Marriott for less cost. The rooms facing the Marriott are smaller, have road noise, but the balcony is large enough for a lounge chair. Most have a great ocean view. The rooms facing Diamond Head have a much better view to include the ocean, quiet, larger, but balcony has only enough room to stand. This hotel has basic services and a resort fee (as most hotels do) which includes breakfast and dvd rentals. If you like spending less time at your hotel, more time on the beach and sight seeing while spending less for lodging with good ocean views, this is the hotel for you.

I love that the Aston is across from the beach and next to the Honolulu Zoo with a great view of Diamond Head. Quiet streets & a great location for families with kids. The staff is very helpful and friendly with prompt services. The breakfast included is super, you can eat poolside with Hawaiian music and hula dances, or take to the beach or up to your room/ balcony - insulated tote bag provided. Tiki's restaurant & bar on the pool level is well-known locally, we enjoyed their food, friendly service and nightly Hawaiian music. The hotel is in process of renovation, will look great when done. We did not encounter any big disruptions or noise due to this work.

Loved the hotel provided chairs, sand mats, towels & coolers with breakfast to take to the beach just across the street. Entertainment at breakfast was nice. Location perfect. All fast food places, ABC stores and "TheBus" ( city - $2.50) can take from airport , within walking distance. The remodeling was quiet until yesterday when they started removing the tile around the pool. But we were leaving. Not happy about extra Amenity Fee $24.08 per day, collected on arrival. We didn't tip the maid, as we normally do. Hope she gets part of it. We are over 70 yrs old. & have been to Hawaii many times. Things change.

The location and value of this hotel was great. We had a lovely view of diamond head, with no other buildings obstructing it. The room was clean. The continental breakfast was fun (make sure to bring your hotel room "picnic basket" down). The tiki bar had ridiculous tiki drinks, which I love. - there was construction going on while I was there which was a little annoying, but it of course had to be done some time. Nice public beach access.

This is a nice hotel just across the street from the beach. The staff is nice and the restaurant is good. There are 3 desks with brochures about tours and side trips so it's easy to book those from the lobby. But I don't think it's the best hotel if you're traveling on business. First, the wireless access was often slow and unreliable. My speed sometimes went down to 13 Mbps (compared to 144 Mbps at home) such that even the Google home page took almost 25 seconds to load. I got some improvement using the Ethernet cable that came out of the wall, but that dropped the connection a few times and stopped working the next day. I finally connected to the wireless port for the room next to mine (not my own) and got a little more reliable service. Also, there is no desk in the room. There is a tall table with stools that one can use as a small desk but because of the height and the posts in the side of the table, it's a little uncomfortable to use as a desk. Another minor issue is the elevators. Instead of getting in the elevator and pressing the button for your floor, you need to press the floor number on a keypad outside the elevator. A small screen then displays the letter of the elevator to get on. I often mistakenly got on the elevator that was assigned to someone else, which then took me to the wrong floor. I also never figured out how to go directly from my floor to the 1st floor without stopping at the 3rd floor lobby.

This is an old, dated hotel, no getting around it. The room was only OK. Certainly clean enough and the bed was comfortable enough. Negatives: There is no chair to sit in to relax. You have to sit on the bed or at a two person pub table with backless stools. The Bathroom was just slightly larger than a boat might have. The shower head was so low it hit me in the chest and I'm only 6'1". "Complimentary Breakfast by the pool" is a collection of cereal, breads and a fruit tub filled with pineapple and melon. There is a daily "Resort Fee" for breakfast, Wi-Fi and fitness center, regardless if you use them or not. After day two, we went to Starbucks and skipped the breakfast altoghether. Pool is small and the sun did not even hit the pool are (January). If you rent a car, your option is to pay thirty a day for valet (plus tip) or park many blocks away. The homeless situation on Waikiki beach is disturbing. The number of people and their total disregard for the beach makes you want to avoid the place entirely. At night they move to the sidewalks. In an ideal situation, we would have opted to NOT stay on Waikiki. It's like going to the beach in Manhattan.

Many guests enjoy Breakfast on the Beach because of our variety of local pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits, cereals, miso soup, coffees, and juices. Our daily amenity fee not only provides for breakfast, and wi-fi, but also unlmited movies and video games, Keurig coffee makers, daily newspaper, fitness center, in-room safe, and local/800 phone calls. The only real issue was the manditory extra charges for internet/continetal brealfast and $26.00/day parking.

The room was fine, but the hotel is showing some signs of wear and age. Our room was clean and the PS3 on the tv was a nice touch, but the faucets in the bath tub looked like they were about to break off, and the shower head sprayed water in several directions, as well as being very low (I stand 5'11, and the shower head was at my chin). Checking in at the front desk seemed to take far to long. Not sure what the process is, but they need to work on speeding that up a little bit. The area around the hotel was nice, and the beach near by was nice and not over crowded like other areas.
