"Nice overall hotel"
My wife and I stayed over Christmas and overall our experience was very positive. The hotel was easy to find and get to from the airport. The lobby was beautiful and the front desk staff was very prompt and friendly at check in. The parking ramp, while not cheap, was very convenient and easy to get in and out of every day. Our room had a fantastic […] view of the bay, just as advertised, and overall the room was nice and comfortable. It was nice to have the refrigerator and coffee pot in the room - we were hoping for a microwave too, but that was an extra charge. Overall the room was fairly clean - though there was a hair on the shower wall that didn't get cleaned over our entire 4-night stay. Not being germaphobes we weren't too bothered, but obviously the cleaning could have been a little better. The location of the hotel was great. We went to Torrey Pines, the zoo, Point Loma, and La Jolla and all were an easy drive. It was great to be able to walk from the hotel to Seaport Village and the USS Midway. There were also a few restaurants you could walk to from the hotel. If you really want to eat/shop/walk the Gaslamp area, that walk is little longer (~8 blocks). We did not use the spa, pools, or fitness facility, but we did walk through the gym area and it looked pretty nice. Overall we were happy with our stay and would stay at the Manchester again. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family that were traveling to San Diego. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Everything was great other than you have to pay for everything. I mean everything. Other than that it is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only thing that was troublesome was the bar called the "Top of the Hyatt". We went there to have some drinks and appetizers before dinner. We waited about 10 minutes for service, placed an order then waited another 10 minutes for drinks. We then waited 30 minutes after we ordered and we were told the appetizer we ordered "went bad" and we were told […] to order something else. We didn't order anything else, finished our drinks and left. For a rather expensive bar I thought the service was lacking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing view, Beautiful hotel!"
Front Desk was super friendly and expedited check-in quickly, accommodating my requests without a problem. Room was clean but the coffee maker was not. My bed and pillows were heaven, and the view--looking over the Trolley, Coronado Bridge, Marina, and Seaport Village was just amazing, 10+!! Perfect room temp, and no noise. There are 3 negatives, however. […] 1)because of the vast openness, the lounge was very noisy, and not relaxing, with a band playing somewhere above, the TV's on, and the normal clatter and chatter of a lobby. Without the band playing on the floor above it probably would've been okay. 2)While checking in-my family had to "STAND" and wait. There are no coaches or seating in the direct, very large, lobby area, or near check-in. This was inconvenient for weary travelers and kids. But it is GORGEOUS! 3)the breakfast buffet…not impressive at all. Sadly, I felt it was a complete waste of money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Room with a View"
My husband & I went to San Diego for vacation. We arrived at the hotel very early but were still able to check in by 2pm. Tina at the front desk was very accommodating and when she noticed that it was my birthday, she sent a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to our room. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The views from our room […] were beautiful. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too big and made for a stiff neck. The fitness room had a lot of machines and free weights so that everyone could workout comfortably without waiting. The closet was extremely small for 2 people but there was a lot of drawer space. Every bathroom needs a fan...enough said! The food at Redfield's Sports bar was delicious, especially the burgers! The biggest disappointment was the spa. I have never walked out of a massage in my life until this trip. Thankfully we were not charged for our services. This hotel is in a great location. Less than a mile away is a short ferry ride to Coronado, Seagate Village is directly behind it and has many great shops and food choices. The Headquarters next door also has yummy upscale dining and even the neighboring hotels have great drink specials. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. I would definitely recommend it to family & friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"nice little getaway"
This hotel is perfect! Walking distance to the gaslamp but not right in the middle for when you're ready to go get some rest. Also right in the seaport village which is perfect shopping and eating on the water during the day. My husband and I will definitely be back!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, good rooms"
The room was clean with all basic amenities. The service was decent. But the best part was the location of the hotel. We had 4 rooms to our group and all rooms had a good view.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a 4 Star Housekeeping"
Housekeeping really bad...beds poorly made, pillows and blankets left on the chairs, sheets not replaced although we left some stains on it (we purposely left tips by the stain so they can give us new linens so tips were taken linens not replaced)...Called housecleaning and they redid the rooms but the next day, same thing...Very disappointed...Rooms […] are on the small side too. "Beautiful hotel with beautiful views"
We decided to spend the first two nights of our marriage in a nice downtown San Diego hotel. The Manchester Grand Hyatt was exactly what we were looking for. Eligent and clean, within easy walking distance to Horton Plaza and the Gaslamp District. We loved it!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Hotel with a few minor flaws"
The checkin experience was perfect for a Grand Hyatt. We were quickly greeted and on our way to our room facing the water and upper level. We were placed on a floor that had other little ones which was fine with us. The room was perfect w/exception to dust on the heater vent intake and on lampshades. Ok, one stray hair from the previous guest (or housekeeper) […] but otherwise clean. We had a grand view of the bay and a resident seagull on our window which entertained our little one for many hours which we didnt mind. Housekeeping was pretty quick to meet our needs. Concierge was a little slow (understaffed) but otherwise provided great service. Overall, great experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Need room renovations and staff training."
This is NOT the place to stay if you care about hotel servicst-services operators had major attitude; felt like she was angry at me just because I asked her whether there were slippers in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is the second year in a row that we stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel to spend the Christmas vacations in San Diego, and that pretty much sums it up. It is very well located not only to drive to many different points of interest but also to walk around to places like the marina, Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter and the USS Midway aircraft […] carrier museum. The hotel itself is pretty nice and the rooms are comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expedia customer being insulted"
For my family’s New Year’s trip, I made a hotel reservation in San Diego through Expedia. I paid for a great offer that included a Premium View, two double beds, etc. I arrived at the Hotel and checked in on 1/1/15. Everything had been fine until a lady at the front desk told me she had to give me a room with the City View because there was no Ocean […] View room left with two double beds. As she insisted there was no room with the Premium View left, I had to go to the designated room with my family. When my family and I went up to the room, we found out that the room hadn’t been cleaned up. So we went to the front desk to make a complaint. I first tried to talk to the lady who had given me the room. She was busy talking with other customers, so I got to talk to another lady at the front desk. As soon as I told her that the room was way too dirty, she gave me another room with the Ocean View and two double beds. The room was on the same floor as my first designated room that I had found messed up. Surprise…!! The room with the Ocean View and two double beds had magically appeared from another front desk lady. How would you explain that? My best guess is that THE MANCHESTER GRAND HYATT HOTEL does not consider people with reservation from Expedia as respectable, valuable customers BECAUSE THEY GET TICKETS AT CHEAPER PRICES. I consider it an insult to people with third party reservations. Expedia should do something about this. Other customers should not experience such humiliation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great staff, facility is ok"
We checked in to the Hyatt for the period between Christmas and New Years. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the following areas could use improvement: 1. You need to pay for Wi-Fi in your room. This should not be the case for a Class A hotel. 2. The information in the rooms about San Diego experiences is somewhat slim. 3. Our non-smoking […] room had a strange odor. 4. The elevators take forever. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hyatt easy access to rail and Gas Lamp Dist"

"Always interesting hotel by the beach."
We like the location at Seaport Village. Sally's and Fish Market are our favorite dinners and the hotel's oatmeal at the deli is breakfast with complimentary paper at the bus desk. Smores at the firepits by the pool are great for a couple of evenings. Taxi to Balboa park for a couple of day's of really good activities. The hotel conciege is very helpful […] with plays, book stores, Kettner antiques, Ralph's grocery and lotto and taking a ride on the train. We also love the mix of people from around the world. The hotel is beautiful, a key to fun, views quite interesting and the soap smells wonderful. Go see what we enjoy. "Best cookie cutter high rise hotel in USA"
Right on the edge of San Diego Bay, these parallel offset towers are designed with good sense. Everything just works well. Located on border of Embarcadero, Gaslamp, & Marina District. Good access to public transportation, and there's a lot within walking distance. Booking, check-in, valet, check-out, housekeeping, concierge, all working fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego."
Hotel was very nice, used a special pkg. which included free parking. Since parking is very expensive we would not have chosen this hotel without the parking incentive and reduced room rate. The hotel amenities were very good, great lobby and excellent fitness center. Restaurants are very good although a little pricey. A shopping area next to the hotel […] and waterfront provided interesting shopping and a variety of eating experiences. The location by the waterfront was great and provided a nice area to be outside. A variety of tourist attractions are within easy driving and even walking distances. The only really bad experience was a damaged area in a sidewalk just outside the hotel which caused my wife to trip and fall. The hotel management said they would take care of the issue. The bottom line is that we would return as it is a nice hotel in a nice area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My husband and I loved the gorgeous views from our room on the 17th floor. We celebrated our 48th Anniversary on Horn Blower Dinner Cruise very close by. Everything was convenient. The Grand Hyatt was a great choice of hotel for us. The hotel and staff were great. The level of service we encountered made us feel like our money was well spent. Had a great Christmas day buffet at Lael's and another excellent breakfast buffet on our last day. We travel a lot and the gym was better than most 5 star facilities and was very clean. The […] equipment was top notch and the sport courts and pools were very nice touches. The front desk staff were very helpful in allowing us a later checkout since we had a late afternoon flight.
