Room 333 what a beautiful view of literally a jungle.... My S.O. Celebrated a BDay and they left a card a very nice snack cake tray for her.....pool and hot tub were excellent..... The club and workout rooms second to none and finally the staff helpful and have an eye for pampering..... I will go again only to relax

PROS: beautiful secluded and quiet grounds, impeccable hotel, stunning lobby, wonderful staff, well appointed rooms, very clean, great location. CONS: poor quality flat screen TV, $13 self parking, expensive breakfast ($60 2pp).

Me and my family stay here often. We always enjoy it. The facilities are an added bonus, and the service is always exceptional. The beds are queen size, not doubles which helps with our kids.

Very nice hotel. lots of athletic activities and the spa is great.

Everyone was very nice. They suprised us on our first night with free milk and cookies for the kids. The gym and pools are fantastic. The one thing I did not care for is in the pool is that the lifeguards on duty make everyone get out of the pool so they can take a brake. I can understand this for kids but if parents want to swim with their kids with no guard I think they should be able to. A very minor complaint but the overall hotel was a wonderful place.. I will be back for sure.

The hotel was fantastic. Was great for the whole family. Only negative would be that the restaurant for breakfast is very pricey.

Very nice place to stay. Beautiful wooded grounds right in the galleria area. Our room was recently updated and very nice. Terrific bedding - very comfy and good quality. Small-ish bathroom in the standard king room. Floor to ceiling window overlooks the woods - very tranquil. Lobby is beautiful. We had lived in Houston for 20 years and everyone knows what a luxury property this is. The spa and Houstonian Club are just a short walk away thru the garden pathway.Only complaint, a small one, was that we kept having to find our waiter and ask for service at their restaurant, Olivette.

We loved the stay and enjoyed the room. This is also a private club so the pool areas were a bit more crowded than you would otherwise find. Fortunately, the pool(s) were huge and VERY nice. Overall it was a bit more expensive than other options (room rate and amenities) and not as convenient to some attractions, but the hotel was very luxurious and clean.

Went to the Houstonian for a weekend getaway. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! Service, Rooms, Surroundings etc. would recommend the Hotel to anyone.

The room was overpriced and small. We couldn't control the air conditioning and it was terribly humid. An engineer came and turned it down, but it remained humid.

Great hotel for a weekend escape.

The grounds & location are beautiful but the hotel is a little outdated and needs some updating. You can hear everything that goes on in the hallways so its frustrating for light sleepers. I continue to stay here because I go to the Trellis spa a lot - i recommend it!

This hotel will become one of my favorite places 2 stay when I visit houston

It's like being in the rolling green hills of Austin, TX without the hills. The hotel has a great walking / biking path to Memorial Park. A 5 Star spa and the grounds are just beautiful.

Where this resort is situated you feel like you are no longer in the city. Great service and loved the suttle service (in a lexus). Most of the people staying at the resort were a little snooty.

The Houstonian is outstanding; superior quality. I have stay here before and always with complete satisfaction. One big element of attraction for me is the total health club which is superior. The only "bobble" with this stay is the outdoor running track is not a complete loop due to construction at the hotel.

The Houstonian's reputation for great service was bolstered during our stay on New Year's Eve. We checked in around 6:45 pm and while the bell stand was slightly busy, we still waited over an hour to receive our bags at our room. This made us late in arriving for our dinner reservations. We notified the staff of this and the manager really stepped up. He offered their car service to take us, but we drove anyway. He also had a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries along with a conciliatory note in our room when we returned from dinner. Needless to say, his gesture reaffirmed my opinion that the Houstonian is a great destination.

A great hotel - classy but also down-to-earth. We used to live in Houston and so we were aware of the Houstonian's reputation before we booked for a stay between Christmas and New Years. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed. The only complaint I have is with the bed frame...It juts out at just the right height to bang your knee on, and it is sharp. Every member of my family (hubby, myself and our 4-year-old) managed to bruise ourselves mightily - it still hurts!! The health club is amazing and the outdoor pools were even usable in December (quite a novelty for us folks from the frozen north). The group exercise classes are so varied and are suitable for all levels of ability. The kids club at the gym is also fabulous and costs $7ish per hour. Even the cafe there was fabulous. The perfect getaway for gym-rats who like to be spoiled.

When I called upon discovering that I'd left my workout clothes in the room, I was bummed to find out that no items had been returned and they were just gone. This probably means that housekeeping kept my Nike workout ensemble for themselves-- a bummer at about $100 to replace.

Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Treated like royalty. State of the art fitness center. Excellent restaurants.

Granted this is a nice place in a great location which for the rate should be. I do not suggest eating at the restraunts at the hotel as they are very expensive. Overall the rooms are nicely decorated but very small. Valet parking at 19/night and self parking at 9/night is just a slap in the face considering the high rates already at this location. I would not stay again for the price vs. overall benefits.

One of the nights of our stay the lights were off form 0:00 to 5:00 AM ! If this was planed they should have told us about it. We did not get apologies or something like that. The heater was very loud!

The Houstonian is a great hotel for enjoying the Christmas season. They have gone all out with their decor and their service made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again!

We loved the hotel and then when we ask to be moved closer to the elevators we were placed in a beautiful renovated room that was spectacular. The pools were wonderful and there were always lifeguards on duty so parents could relax a bit. I used the health club everyday and the classes were taught by well trained people. The food was outstanding in every location and there were plenty of different venues to choose from....we tried them all!

It is a great place to go when you need to get away.

Everything from room service, conierge-level amenities, family-friendly pool, and overall comfort were great.

The linens were great but a dirty wash cloth was left in our bathroom. The shower had very little water pressure. I told the staff.

Enjoyed the hotel and the service. The conceirge staff were excellent and the conceirge level louge was welcoming and well stocked and had great staff.

I recently stayed at The Houstonian for a weekend away with my Mother. The hotel was beautiful and the room very comfortable. I wouldnt call it spacious but it had nice amenities (the turndown service plus filling the ice bucket was a nice touch). The only downsides were the bathroom was a little cramped and dingy (needed the walls washed actually) and it was a tad noisy. But you cant be its proximity to everything in Houston and the setting is beautiful.
