"You're paying for the location only"
As with most hotels, the staff could not do more to make your stay memorable (but then they are all working for tips ;-), however, rooms dated, my toilet was on continual flush when not in use (just what you need at 3am) but didn't flush when you really needed it. Room service menu had limited choice, overpriced average quality, and strangely for the […] USA,small portions. Poor atention to detail, order coffee and a glass of milk for breakfast. No milk jug for coffee, i expect i was supposed to use some of the milk from my glass. Toast but no butter, that sort of thing. Bieng close to city centre is great but can't make up its mind as to wether its a ciry centre crash pad, or a quality hotel and fall beween these two stools. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin-Downtown John, We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We apologize for the running toilet and any shortfalls of our room service. At the time of your stay, we were in the process of opening a new restaurant and so our room service was very limited. We are happy to hear that you were pleased with our staff and location, however. We hope that you will visit us again, now that our new restaurant, chavez, is open, and give us the opportunity to leave you with a better opinion of our hotel. Radisson Austin Downtown
"It IS all about LOCATION"
Drove over from Houston to attend a wedding. Once inside, I expected something nice for my money. The lobby is lovely. Restaurant is under construction although there IS a limited room service menu. From the moment we arrived, there was one issue after another. I had reserved a room with 2 beds - very important since our 2 daughters were with us - and […] they are older teens. Was told that they don't guarantee my room choice from a 3rd party vendor! Gave us a king with a pull out sofa bed- the most horrible sofa bed ever! We put the mattress on the floor. It was very thin, not much more than a sleeping bag and my two adult-sized teens had to share. Had enough pillows for them but only ONE thin blanket and housekeeping couldn't find any more. The Radisson had NO extra blankets. The walls are thin and we were next to a room of teenage volleyball players -many tournaments in downtown Austin. These girls had friends in and out all night long, ran up and down the hall screaming. Management assured us that they were SURE the girls would go to bed soon as they had to play in the morning. They didn't. We watched TV to waited them out. Well after midnight, they did go to sleep for a bit and we retired to floor and bed. At about 2am, they were at it again. The king sized bed was fine - it is a sleep number bed. We slept fine when our neighbors slept. Bathroom lock was broken out. There are many great hotels in Austin. The room was no better than some lower priced competitors. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

overall acceptable, though the room condition fail in comparison to my previous Radisson Blu Hotel experience in Cebu, which is more well maintained and luxurious in furnishing. "Wait till this hotel gets renovated"
The location was amazing. But Austin was chilly that day and night and my hotel room's heater didn't work. FREEZING!!! Overall the service was just okay. It honestly felt like a lot of young people were staffing the key positions and weren't 100% in control. However, the concierge made an awesome recommendation for a local eatery that I went back to […] several times. The hotel is getting renovated soon and it looks like it will up their game. "Great Location - Needs better Management"
Three night stay. The location was great. Room was big and well appointed. Constant negatives kept popping up throughout my stay. Without the following items, I would have given it an overall rating of 4. With them my experience was a 2. Restaurant was closed for remodeling ; pool was closed on the weekend; First morning as I was showering, I noticed […] a large wad of long hair on the shower wall which made the rest of my shower not so pleasant; Other parts of the bathroom were poorly cleaned; the second day they didn't come to make-up the room until after 3:30pm. Cable TV went out Friday night and was not corrected until late Saturday afternoon (reportedly it goes out when it rains); at checkout, they had a problem printing my receipt and the staff commented how old and problematic the printers are (if you business relies on printers, then buy a couple.) I expect more from stay costing over two hundred dollars, and many of these are east management fixes... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

After sleeping on the Sleep Number bed I will never buy one. I actually wouldn't stay in a hotel with a Sleep Number bed. "Great Location... a Bit Dated."
Austin is a great city to be in if you're looking for good eats and a lively atmosphere. The Radisson is in a great location on the corner of Cesar Chavez and Congress. It's within walking distance of 6th St. and all of its rowdy nightlife. The King Bed suite is very spacious and can technically sleep 4 with the pullout in the other room. Check-in was […] a breeze and the lobby area is quite comfortable. Guests can sit on the many couches and the hotel serves cocktails in the lobby in the late afternoon/early evening. "Nice hotel close to downtown"
This is the 3rd time I have stayed here. Very close to everything in downtown Austin, including 6th street. Nice parking garage.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall the hotel was okay for a 1 night stay. The room was too small for 2 adults, a teenage, and a baby. The first room we were given had no view. "Great place, but weak on environmental impact"
I was disappointed that even though they say that they invite us to re-use our towels, they still replaced all of them every day AND even though they are only supposed to change bed sheets every other day, they changed them every day! The housekeepers put the AC on high blast at only 65 degrees. The internet was spotty but otherwise a great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for access to downtown Austin"
This hotel has everything you need for a nice stay in downtown Austin. Highly suggest that you request a room on the 'lake side' of the building. The view on the lake side is excellent and the rooms facing the street have a constant traffic noise - even 9 floors up where I stayed. This is my reason for the slight downgrade on Room comfort. The actual […] room was in very good shape. Some renovation was going on in the lobby which also had them close the restaurant, but this all appears to be wrapping up soon. "Not what I expected..."
Being an Expedia Elite member, I booked this hotel for the VIP perks and convenience to attractions. I was sadly disappointed. Upon arrival, we parked in the parking garage and walked to the lobby. On the way, cigarette butts littered the valet and drop off area. The lobby was decent. The staff was friendly and helpful. She handed me a letter stating […] the restaurant was closed due to remodeling. We picked this hotel because a restaurant was on site and nowhere did it mention that it was closed or I would have chosen another hotel. Now, for the room, the most disappointing part. First, the elevators are very small. My family of four with luggage barely fit! The hallways and décor was a bit dated, but looks like they are renovating. Our room had a very nice view of the river, pool and Congress Street Bridge where the bats fly out at night (another reason we picked this hotel). The room has NO safe, NO mini fridge and no outlet for the coffee maker? You have to take it to the bathroom or the desk to brew coffee? Weird and inconvenient. The beds were AWFUL. I have not slept on a “sleep number” bed, and never will again. It was like sleeping on an air mattress! My family did not sleep well. The on-site Starbucks was ok, however, it was hot. I asked if the air was broken, the staff told me that it has not worked in 7 years. They had two fans going to keep them cool. The saltwater infinity pool was a nice break for my kids while we waited to see the bats. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is in a great location for walking to some of the area attractions; the congress street bridge to watch the bats, 6th St., shopping, etc. the hotel was under renovation so the restaurant was closed and a few other minor inconveniences. Checkin staff and valets were GREAT! Room service not so much: got in-room orders wrong and had me signing off on someone elses order. "Dated just a little but"
From the looks of the signs in the lobby they are about to begin some renovations. Which I think it is need of. The room was overall nice.
