"Great Location for Soccer and Nob Hill"
Location was great with free parking. Nob Hill shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Soccer stadium is just two blocks away. Hotel is dated. Check in was painfully slow. Rooms weren't ready when we tried to check in at 3 PM. Checked in later that evening.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Front Desk Woman was no at all pleasant"
When I arrived to check in the lobby was empty. The lady at the front desk did not greet me in a polite way. First she could not find my booking, but then checked again and found it. She was very rude throughout the entire process. I asked for 4 room keys (as it was a 4 person room). She acted put-off that I asked for 4, instead of their standard 2 […] room keys. I also asked her for a second parking pass as we had to park two cars. She was equally rude about getting a second parking permit for us. There is minimal parking and our friends had to park on the street that had 90 minute time limits until 10pm on weekdays. The room was small, and cramped. The decor was minimal but decent. There was no alarm clock or radio, only a tv mounted on the wall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"motel like / very thin curtain"
The first surprise is the building we stayed is not the main building which you could find the picture in the website, but a separate two story building across the street, which looks like a motel. The second surprise is the curtain. It’s very thin, we could see clearly people outside through curtain. Fortunately, people outside can’t see inside through […] the curtain. In the night, there is a bright light in the hallway which is close to our window, and the light just shine in through curtain. I could not sleep well with light on. Walking distance to some great places to eat, and beautiful Washington Park. Walls are thin.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an OK apart-hotel in a decent location but very average for the rates that they charge. The one bed apartment was dark and poky, while the sofa bed for the children was quite possibly the most uncomfortable thing I have ever had the misfortune to lie down on. I had to go to reception at midnight to ask for bed linen - when I was bold enough […] to ask for an additional pillow I was haughtily told to look in the bedroom closet for myself. The housekeeper also seemed genuinely aggrieved to discover we were in our room when she wanted to clean it - seems like she took her revenge by refusing to replenish any of the few bits and pieces that were provided in the small, basic kitchenette. This option might suit a single traveller or couple but is not really suitable for a family. You will find better value for money elsewhere in Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Portland long weekend"
This is a nicely located hotel at a decent price. It's a bit dated, but comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was the perfect size, loved the hard wood floors, felt really clean, the shampoo and conditioner were nice, so was the coffee, cookies and fruit in the lobby. AC didnt get the room very cold and it was a little noisy but the price was perfect and so was the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best price for the location"
As others noted, there are two buildings that make up the hotel, this review is for the Inn. The front desk person who helped us check in was super helpful providing maps and suggestions of where to go. There was ample parking but the spots are kind of tight to maneuver if you are driving a larger vehicle. The location is great; it is within walking […] distance to several places or a very short drive to many others. We made it most places we wanted to go in about a 10 minute drive. The room is very basic; a table and chairs, queen bed, TV stand, and another stand that we could set a suitcase on. The water pressure in our room was very strong, making the showering experience a little less than relaxing and there was a very lightweight shower curtain that was not weighted at the bottom, so it blew inward and stuck to you the entire time you were trying to shower. We also had an ongoing issue with getting the toilet to flush. We had maintenance come check it out, but the problem persisted. It seemed to boil down to needing to get the handle in the just so perfect spot to get it to work. The floors are all laminate wood, so you tend to notice if they are not completely clean. I found quite a bit of hair that didn't belong to me lurking around the room. Overall, it's not a 5 star room by any means, but for the price and the location, I'm not sure you are going to do better. I wouldn't have an issue staying here again. Lovely neighborhood, nicely refurbished older building, reasonable prices. If you're on the first floor, know that you'll hear every word, every footstep, every bed creak from the room above. Next time, we'll bring earplugs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice updated room, but no breakfast"
Stayed in a nice renovated room at the inn which looks like a motel from the outside. We were very pleased with the room though. They should probably have a sign at the inn notifying guests that the lobby and check-in is at a different building across the street. They offer high-quality bath products, and the "hotel" is located close to restaurants, […] a drug store and Washington Park (just three blocks away, although it's a steep walk to the park from the hotel). My main complaint would be that there's no breakfast. I find the displayed picture of the coffee and fruits a bit misleading because I thought the hotel included continental breakfast, but that's all that is included along with some cookies. Very disappointed about that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for 3 nights and thought that it is just a fine place for the money. The staff who served us were great, particularly a front desk staff named Alex. When my husband and I arrived at this hotel, we had a difficult time finding where to check in. Our GPS mapped us to the building across the street from the main entrance. We assumed we were at the right place due to the address, but apparently we weren't in the right place to check in. After walking around for 10 minutes, we finally found the main […] entrance to the hotel. We waited at the counter for 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. We were slightly irritated after waiting for 25 minutes to finally get checked into our room. We got our hotel keys and walked back across the street to where we were staying. We opened the door and that is when we realized we overpaid for this hotel. All the furniture looks like Ikea furniture. There was a bed, table, two plastic chairs, a TV, a tiny dresser, an open closet (with three hangers), and two nightstands. The room was tiny and we barely had any space to put our two large suitcases. We walked into the bathroom to find a shower (with no sides) and hair all over the shower. We ran the water in the shower for 5 minutes and still did not have hot water, so we sat a little longer for the water to finally warm up. We used the warm (not hot) water to rinse the bottom of the shower to free it of the hair. Overall, we were not thrilled with this hotel. We felt like we overpaid for such a small, cheap room. We will not be staying at this hotel again when we travel to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"2 Buildings - the Suites and the Inn"
We were in Portland for a long weekend in June '14. This review is for the Inn (the tiny motel across King Street from the office). The location cannot be beat for the price. It's close to many shopping, restaurants, bakeries and bars. We flew in and did not rent a car so we just walked or used public transit everywhere we went, which was super easy […] and convenient. The room was clean and small with IKEA like furnishings (2 Queen platform bed with killer corners if you're not careful; 1 nightstand in the middle; 1 credenza w/ 4 drawers; a 2 ft towel bar with 2 hangers and a TV; that's it. The AC/fan was loud. There are no rugs or carpet on the floor and walls are super thin so you pretty much hear your neighbors' every step. Bring Earplugs. The bathroom has no tub; just shower. The water pressure was weak and the toilet didn't flush right. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"find another pdx hotel downtown"
shabby place in need of complete re-do. located in residential neighborhood with not even a coffee shop nearby. every walk involved going up and down steep hills so this is definitely not for elderly or disabled folks. there are no restaurant or room service or vending machine services. linens are not changed daily. there is a coin operated washer but […] the desk could not make change for my $10.00 bill which is probably ok because there were no vending machines from which to purchase laundry detergent and i don't travel with a gallon of tide in my suitcase. "Good basic hotel"
This is a very basic hotel. If you want more amenities, you may have to go somewhere else. Pros: not a bad walk to the Rose garden, soccer stadium, 2 max rail stations, #20 bus, and good bakery. Cons: further away from main Portland attractions such as Powells and Saturday market (can get there by #20 bus which runs every 30 min). No hair dryer or lotion […] which I found odd. Beds were on the firmer side (depending on your preference that can be a pro or con). Didn't realize it was more of an "outdoor" hotel and we were actually in a building across the street. It was quiet though and we had a neat view of the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Hotel in a good location for a Portland visit"
Rooms basic but clean and well maintained. Good Location. Staff friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was I surprised to find that my room at Park Lane Suites and Inn was not as pictured on their site! What is pictured is a suite and not a room at the Inn, where I booked a room. The rooms at the inn are basically redone budget chain motel rooms, quite basic and bare. I had to walk across the street to get a cup of coffee or an apple or cookies because […] there is no coffee maker in the room. There is a TV and a hair dryer, however, as well as an adjustable thermostat. When I arrived, the desk clerk was busy playing with the lenses on his camera and took some time to check me in. After my initial dismay that I had to tote my suitcases down a steep driveway and across the street to my budget room, I settled in and stayed five nights. The price was right for Portland, which tends to be expensive, and the location was very good. I could walk to Washington Park and to the downtown area or I could take a nearby bus. It is very close to a very good steakhouse and a highly recommended Italian restaurant and a Mexican restaurant is just around the corner. Also a natural foods market is a short walk on Burnside and there are fast food places as well. The area has many beautiful homes and is not far from the classy Nob Hill area. If I were in Portland again, I would consider staying here again, as the pluses far outweigh the minuses. I'd just be prepared for a basic room and not a suite. The Park Lane is conveniently located within 3 blocks of the Tri-Met light rail Providence Park rail station which is on the same line as the airport. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. The room is sparse but clean and comfortable. The main part of the hotel is on one side of the street and there is an annex on the other side. I stayed in […] the annex which has two floors. If you are on the second floor, there is no elevator on the annex side. The room was quiet. The only drawback was that the air conditioner unit constantly runs; it never shuts off when the desired temperature is met. This didn't bother me but it might bother others. There are many restaurant within easy walking distance as well as a drugstore. Good value for the money and I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the interiors were updated the room was very uncomfortable but workable. What wasn't acceptable was the thin walls that you could hear everything your neighbors were doing and saying. I had a 3 night stay. The rooms were big, but all the decor and furniture was old. It had a bad smell and bad lighting. Hair on the bed (have to tell housekeeper to put her hair up). Kind of eerie. This hotel is 3 blocks from the wharf. The rooms are clean and modern with a huge flat screen TV. The manager's reception looked like a spread for a wedding and they offer free business services. "Not what we expected"
Park Lane is not a bad place but not what we expected. Our room was neither an inn nor a suite. We booked a standard room which was nothing more than a bare minimum hotel room in the building across the street. Stayed for three nights. The motel was nearly empty the last night of our stay but they put new people in a room directly above us. There is […] no sound barrier! We heard every footstep and conversation from our neighbors. Had a great experience in portland and at this hotel. Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and helpful, we were given a room across the street. "Great location but basic facilities."
We stayed 2 nights in the Park Lane Suites and were generally satisfied with our experience. The location of the hotel is great, in Kings Hill, near parks, great shopping and dining. We were located in the "annex" across the street from the main building. Our room was comfortable, but small and austere, with limited furniture (weirdly, no headboards) […] and no closet. Three of the four drawers in the dresser were taken up with extra blankets and a hairdryer, leaving no place to store unpacked belongings The room would have benefited from even a small occasional chair as alternative seating to the beds since there was no lobby or common area in our building. The toiletries supplied in the room were very high quality and the beds were comfortable. The wi-fi in our building was spotty to non-existent and complaints about such merely elicited shrugs from the front desk staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great view if you are lucky"
We stayed two nights, left to travel, and came back for one more night. The first stage was fine. I enjoy buying takeout at the local market, Zupan, eating at the little table in the room, and gazing out at the cityscape with Mt. Hood looming. That makes up for the cheap, Spartan room: no coffee maker, a noisy heater, no body lotion, no tub. The men […] in the lobby were charming and polite. Even though we reserved far in advance, on the second stay, we were relegated to a viewless room with a good bit of noise overhead as i tossed and turned to the rattle of the jalopy heater. The woman who checked me in made a personal comment and seemed to relish the fact that i would be denied the view room I requested. That being said, the room was clean and acceptable, but without the view and with the snarky diss, I didn't enjoy my stay too much Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"look for a different place to stay..."
Location was goood, but the room was pretty terrible. It claims to.be 'an apartment hotel' however my room was a bed, night stand and a small table. Absolutly no counter space which leads to no floor space as both my boyfriend and my suitcases were on the ground right next to our bed since there was not even a small closet space. My friends and I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and fit 6 people comfortably. I'm sure we could have fit more, but for comforts sake, 6 is just right. The kitchen was equipped with some basic kitchenware such as spoons, forks, butter knives, plates, cups, pot, frying pan and salt/pepper. We were surprised to see a mini dishwasher as well! The bathroom […] was a little bigger than we thought it looked like in the pictures and the place was clean. We were very satisfied with our recent trip to Portland, many thanks to the Park Lane Suites and its easy access from main roads. They do have three parking lots, but limited parking spaces.
