"Perfect location with friendly staff"
This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a decent, affordable place to stay in Portland without sacrificing location. Parking is included and you can walk or take public transit to just about anywhere you'd want to go, so it was super easy and cheap to get around. Practically everything we wanted to see - downtown, Rose Garden, Powell's Books, Saturday […] Market, Voodoo Doughnuts, some great shops and restaurants on 23rd - was within a mile or so walk or less. And for places a little further away (or when it was raining), taking the bus or train was very convenient. The hotel staff is also very friendly and helpful - they gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and even gave us a free room upgrade when they saw I was pregnant and learned that we were on our last out-of-town excursion before our baby arrives. How sweet is that?!? We would totally stay here again the next time we're in Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OK, but not great"
Room was clean and most of the staff was very nice (but one of them, an older woman, was a tad prickly). The internet service was spotty. Water pressure in the shower was very poor. Room was not very cozy. However, no major complaints. I liked the setting the hotel was in: tree-lined street and fairly secluded, yet pretty close to downtown and public […] transpo. Rooms basic but clean and well maintained. Good Location. Staff friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to lots of shopping and restaurants"
The bed was comfortable and room was very clean. The outside of the building is deceiving! Their was no hairdryer in the room, so just prepare for that. Overall, a great place to stay- plenty of parking (free) and free wifi too.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location... see Mt Hood"
We have stayed in this Hotel many times since we started visiting Portland and have liked the suites more than the inn facility. That distinction may be difficult to make on the Expedia site.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Affordable hotel in Portland"
Nice hotel close to bus stop and only 10 min from downtown and shopping district.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very spartan; Poor maintenance"
The rooms at the Inn are small and very minimal. Portion of wall has rain damaged, unfixed. Door lock would not take key card after second night; staff failed to put in repair order; had to walk across street to fetch staff to open door each time we wanted in for last two days.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, good hotel in great location."
I am so glad that I ended up staying here. It was in a perfect location for a short stay in Portland. One block from Nob Hill and all the neat shops and a short walk to beautiful Washington Park. Great restaurants nearby. Facilities are basic but clean and perfectly fine. Good value for money. Alex on the front desk was so incredibly helpful. Spending […] time with me explaining the sights, restaurants, shops, how far to get anywhere. Everything he suggested was just perfect. Will definitely stay there again when I am next in Portland. "A pleasure being outside but still inside the city"
Right at the edge of the busy city. its beautiful and nice simple rooms. I don't know why everyone wants something super for sleeping. I guess my thought is when your at a hotel you want to sleep snack and rest then go out and enjoy the fun outside and see the city. The staff was very nice and helped us the 2 times we called and check in gave us suggestions […] on what to do where to go and how to get there. It was warm and the ac was already on in the room low so the room wasn't 88 it was a nice crisp 74 :) I will go back again next time we go to Portland. Thanks Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Was I surprised to find that my room at Park Lane Suites and Inn was not as pictured on their site! What is pictured is a suite and not a room at the Inn, where I booked a room. The rooms at the inn are basically redone budget chain motel rooms, quite basic and bare. I had to walk across the street to get a cup of coffee or an apple or cookies because […] there is no coffee maker in the room. There is a TV and a hair dryer, however, as well as an adjustable thermostat. When I arrived, the desk clerk was busy playing with the lenses on his camera and took some time to check me in. After my initial dismay that I had to tote my suitcases down a steep driveway and across the street to my budget room, I settled in and stayed five nights. The price was right for Portland, which tends to be expensive, and the location was very good. I could walk to Washington Park and to the downtown area or I could take a nearby bus. It is very close to a very good steakhouse and a highly recommended Italian restaurant and a Mexican restaurant is just around the corner. Also a natural foods market is a short walk on Burnside and there are fast food places as well. The area has many beautiful homes and is not far from the classy Nob Hill area. If I were in Portland again, I would consider staying here again, as the pluses far outweigh the minuses. I'd just be prepared for a basic room and not a suite. The Park Lane is conveniently located within 3 blocks of the Tri-Met light rail Providence Park rail station which is on the same line as the airport. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. The room is sparse but clean and comfortable. The main part of the hotel is on one side of the street and there is an annex on the other side. I stayed in […] the annex which has two floors. If you are on the second floor, there is no elevator on the annex side. The room was quiet. The only drawback was that the air conditioner unit constantly runs; it never shuts off when the desired temperature is met. This didn't bother me but it might bother others. There are many restaurant within easy walking distance as well as a drugstore. Good value for the money and I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the interiors were updated the room was very uncomfortable but workable. What wasn't acceptable was the thin walls that you could hear everything your neighbors were doing and saying. You might as well all stay in the same room. I realize you get what you pay for but I expected more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, quiet and affordable."
Friendly, responsive & helpful staff. Very walkable to Knob Hill & downtown. Convenient to transit. Spacious & comfortable room. Quiet & restful sleep. Exceptional value. We will definitely return to this wonderful find.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pros: This old motel is convenient to Downtown and to the Athletic Club. The evening desk person is very efficient, informative and friendly. The room was clean. Cons: No breakfast is served. The room in the Inn section is very tiny with very little space to place anything. There are beds only with no chair to sit on. "Staff was very friendly, accomodating!"
I thought the room was very spacious. Some of the furniture was outdated (especially the couch), but it was clean & spacious. The darkness of the bedroom was a real plus! "Close to 23rd St & Max line"
Inn is different than Suites; the "Inn" is basically a converted motel. Nice clean rooms (although very very basic - nothing fancy), great friendly staff. Close to restaurants and transit system. all my expectations were met..i got all i needed..not luxurious but, clean, quiet and totally centrally located in downtown portland!! what a fun city and perfect place to stay if you want to explore! just a short walk to the japanese gardens and rose gardens in wahington park!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a 3 night stay. The rooms were big, but all the decor and furniture was old. It had a bad smell and bad lighting. Hair on the bed (have to tell housekeeper to put her hair up). Kind of eerie. Great downtown location and the kitchette was a plus, but won't be staying there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and friendly staff"
This hotel is 3 blocks from the wharf. The rooms are clean and modern with a huge flat screen TV. The manager's reception looked like a spread for a wedding and they offer free business services. The WiFi is open which means I won't use it bc of security issues, and the one time I tried it was painfully slow. Other than that the stay was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We had booked a room at Park Lane but had not realised we would stay at the Inn which is like a motel with parking infront across the road from the main building.room have no view and everybody can see you from the road. A noisy neighboor woke us up at 3 in the morning singing and banging for a whole hour, the room do not block any sound.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very convenient location & parking plentiful. I stayed in the annex across the street and the room was very minimal (no coffee or hair dryer). Walls were so thin that I woke up at six with neighbors' snooze alarm going off every ten minutes. I'd rather pay a bit more or pick a place less central next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not what we expected"
Park Lane is not a bad place but not what we expected. Our room was neither an inn nor a suite. We booked a standard room which was nothing more than a bare minimum hotel room in the building across the street. Stayed for three nights. The motel was nearly empty the last night of our stay but they put new people in a room directly above us. There is […] no sound barrier! We heard every footstep and conversation from our neighbors. Got so bad that we asked to change our room which they agreed. If we"re ever in Portland again we would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Had a great experience in portland and at this hotel. Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and helpful, we were given a room across the street. "Great location but basic facilities."
We stayed 2 nights in the Park Lane Suites and were generally satisfied with our experience. The location of the hotel is great, in Kings Hill, near parks, great shopping and dining. We were located in the "annex" across the street from the main building. Our room was comfortable, but small and austere, with limited furniture (weirdly, no headboards) […] and no closet. Three of the four drawers in the dresser were taken up with extra blankets and a hairdryer, leaving no place to store unpacked belongings The room would have benefited from even a small occasional chair as alternative seating to the beds since there was no lobby or common area in our building. The toiletries supplied in the room were very high quality and the beds were comfortable. The wi-fi in our building was spotty to non-existent and complaints about such merely elicited shrugs from the front desk staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great view if you are lucky"
We stayed two nights, left to travel, and came back for one more night. The first stage was fine. I enjoy buying takeout at the local market, Zupan, eating at the little table in the room, and gazing out at the cityscape with Mt. Hood looming. That makes up for the cheap, Spartan room: no coffee maker, a noisy heater, no body lotion, no tub. The men […] in the lobby were charming and polite. Even though we reserved far in advance, on the second stay, we were relegated to a viewless room with a good bit of noise overhead as i tossed and turned to the rattle of the jalopy heater. The woman who checked me in made a personal comment and seemed to relish the fact that i would be denied the view room I requested. That being said, the room was clean and acceptable, but without the view and with the snarky diss, I didn't enjoy my stay too much Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Perfect little hotel right outside all the busy traffic. Quiet neighborhood and excellent staff. Room wasn't ready at check-in but they were finishing it up as I arrived. "look for a different place to stay..."
Location was goood, but the room was pretty terrible. It claims to.be 'an apartment hotel' however my room was a bed, night stand and a small table. Absolutly no counter space which leads to no floor space as both my boyfriend and my suitcases were on the ground right next to our bed since there was not even a small closet space. The ground was a fake […] haedwoodt which looked cool but wqs incredibly cold. Also no counter space in the bathroom and I found a bunch of hair in the bathroom, it looked like they Barley cleaned it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"15 minute walk to downtown"
My friends and I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and fit 6 people comfortably. I'm sure we could have fit more, but for comforts sake, 6 is just right. The kitchen was equipped with some basic kitchenware such as spoons, forks, butter knives, plates, cups, pot, frying pan and salt/pepper. We were surprised to see a mini dishwasher as well! The bathroom […] was a little bigger than we thought it looked like in the pictures and the place was clean. We were very satisfied with our recent trip to Portland, many thanks to the Park Lane Suites and its easy access from main roads. They do have three parking lots, but limited parking spaces. We were allowed to have 2 cars because we had a 2 bedroom suite, but normally people only get one car per suite. Thanks for the great stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A great place to stay west of Downtown"
Stayed for a 3 day weekend. Anticipated more time spent in this very nice section of Portland, but the weather kept us in the car exploring more far flung neighborhoods. The people here make this a special property. Every single staff member was uncommonly courteous and helpful. We could not have asked for a better choice for our weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was perfect for our vacation needs and wants. The bed a pillows were very comfortable. The room was equipped with a flat screen TV that we enjoyed watching while winding down from our fun adventures. And the room/shower was perfect for getting ready for our day. "I love this area"
Park Lane Suites is really close to the Alphabet District and there are a lot of conveniences within walking distance - groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc. I would highly recommend booking a suite instead of a room if you're going to be staying in Portland for more than 3 days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Starting to Slip!"
I have stayed here before. This time I noticed a few changes. The front desk used to be more attentive. Now when you call them on the telephone, they don't answer. Coffee in the lobby sits empty. When you check out, they give you a copy of someone else's bill. The maids have gotten sloppy as well. There is nothing more fun than jumping in the shower […] and noticing that the maid hasn't replaced the shampoo or shower gel! There seemed to be a constant battle between me and the maid as to who was supposed to wash my dirty dishes. The hotel needs minor repair work that doesn't seem to be being done at all. The fan in my bathroom sounded like a jet taking off. It scared me every time I turned it on. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"3 night stay"
Overall, the room was OK. Nothing special, yet neat and clean. There were three of us, two adults and one 10yr. old. It seemed a bit crowded moving around in the room with the two beds. Also, there wasn't a closet and our wet coats dripped on what ever was underneath them. One other down side was the sound of walking around from the room above us. On […] the other hand, the place met our needs for convenience. We stayed in the INN rooms across the street from the main lobby, so didn't get a chance to experience what that was like. The suites must be in the main building and has better access. Again, it was "OK", but I think next time I might spend some more and get a place right in downtown just for the ability to walk around downtown without a short drive and crazy time trying to park. "Good location, minimalist room"
Good location, in Goose Hollow neighborhood near soccer stadium. Walking distance to downtown and to Washington Park. Free, easy parking. "Convenient, comfortable place to stay"
Overall a positive experience. I was in a suite, and found that the stove-top burners were not working when I checked in. They had it repaired in a couple days, but I assume they would have been quicker had I expressed more urgency about the matter (I only needed it to heat water, and the microwave worked for that). There were a couple times when I […] wasn't sure if I would get a parking spot in one of their lots. They have somewhat limited parking access, which I assume means, during busier periods, that some of their guests are scrambling to find nearby street parking. The WIFI access was iffy at times, but generally ok. That's it for the 'negatives'. This is located in a nice area, within easy walking distance to quite a few things. The facilities/furnishings are a little dated, but they were clean and confortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I expect to visit Portland again, and I will definitely consider staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
