Nice place and close to downtown. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value near downtown."
Late June. Smooth check-in. Nice lobby. Bit of a surprise at being directed to their motel-like facility across the street. Room was a tight fit for two adults and two kids, but very comfortable beds and sleek modern look. Hard to beat given the location; easy walk up to the gardens or down to downtown. Quiet, clean. One weird thing, housekeeping forgot […] to provide cups / glasses of any kind for the bathroom or what have you - two days in a row. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Portland long weekend"
This is a nicely located hotel at a decent price. It's a bit dated, but comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was the perfect size, loved the hard wood floors, felt really clean, the shampoo and conditioner were nice, so was the coffee, cookies and fruit in the lobby. AC didnt get the room very cold and it was a little noisy but the price was perfect and so was the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best price for the location"
As others noted, there are two buildings that make up the hotel, this review is for the Inn. The front desk person who helped us check in was super helpful providing maps and suggestions of where to go. There was ample parking but the spots are kind of tight to maneuver if you are driving a larger vehicle. The location is great; it is within walking […] distance to several places or a very short drive to many others. We made it most places we wanted to go in about a 10 minute drive. The room is very basic; a table and chairs, queen bed, TV stand, and another stand that we could set a suitcase on. The water pressure in our room was very strong, making the showering experience a little less than relaxing and there was a very lightweight shower curtain that was not weighted at the bottom, so it blew inward and stuck to you the entire time you were trying to shower. We also had an ongoing issue with getting the toilet to flush. We had maintenance come check it out, but the problem persisted. It seemed to boil down to needing to get the handle in the just so perfect spot to get it to work. The floors are all laminate wood, so you tend to notice if they are not completely clean. I found quite a bit of hair that didn't belong to me lurking around the room. Overall, it's not a 5 star room by any means, but for the price and the location, I'm not sure you are going to do better. I wouldn't have an issue staying here again. Lovely neighborhood, nicely refurbished older building, reasonable prices. If you're on the first floor, know that you'll hear every word, every footstep, every bed creak from the room above. Next time, we'll bring earplugs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very cozy apartment feeling"
stayed 2 nights and I enjoyed it. very nice people and clean cozy suite. the only issue was the elevator, it's the only one and extremely small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great price in good location"
This hotel is within walking distance of most downtown sites, as well as the gardens of Washington Park. It is right on the border between downtown and a very nice residential neighborhood near the park. The free parking makes it affordable to bring in a car for other excursions outside the walkable and transit-linked areas of the city. It looks out […] over the downtown area and the mountains in the distance. A very good deal! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice updated room, but no breakfast"
Stayed in a nice renovated room at the inn which looks like a motel from the outside. We were very pleased with the room though. They should probably have a sign at the inn notifying guests that the lobby and check-in is at a different building across the street. They offer high-quality bath products, and the "hotel" is located close to restaurants, […] a drug store and Washington Park (just three blocks away, although it's a steep walk to the park from the hotel). My main complaint would be that there's no breakfast. I find the displayed picture of the coffee and fruits a bit misleading because I thought the hotel included continental breakfast, but that's all that is included along with some cookies. Very disappointed about that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is in a good location, parking is free. Hotel staff were friendly. My only negative thing was the musty smell of the sofa.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed for 3 nights and thought that it is just a fine place for the money. The staff who served us were great, particularly a front desk staff named Alex. Good basic hotel in a good neighbourhood. Price very reasonable. Floors in the Inn section could use soundproofing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
When my husband and I arrived at this hotel, we had a difficult time finding where to check in. Our GPS mapped us to the building across the street from the main entrance. We assumed we were at the right place due to the address, but apparently we weren't in the right place to check in. After walking around for 10 minutes, we finally found the main […] entrance to the hotel. We waited at the counter for 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. We were slightly irritated after waiting for 25 minutes to finally get checked into our room. We got our hotel keys and walked back across the street to where we were staying. We opened the door and that is when we realized we overpaid for this hotel. All the furniture looks like Ikea furniture. There was a bed, table, two plastic chairs, a TV, a tiny dresser, an open closet (with three hangers), and two nightstands. The room was tiny and we barely had any space to put our two large suitcases. We walked into the bathroom to find a shower (with no sides) and hair all over the shower. We ran the water in the shower for 5 minutes and still did not have hot water, so we sat a little longer for the water to finally warm up. We used the warm (not hot) water to rinse the bottom of the shower to free it of the hair. Overall, we were not thrilled with this hotel. We felt like we overpaid for such a small, cheap room. We will not be staying at this hotel again when we travel to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice view, but a bit old"
The room was nice, but when checking in you go to a very nice looking hotel and then I was told we were across the street in what looked like something out of the 70's or 80's. Did not see an elevator which would have been handy for my family and all the belongings we brought. Light flickered outside our room all night. BUT, it was a very nice view […] and a pretty convenient location. Though I did put disappointing for condition over all it was a pleasing experience with the view and location; also, the room itself was fine... though magnets in the bath for the curtain would have made showering a bit more pleasant. "2 Buildings - the Suites and the Inn"
We were in Portland for a long weekend in June '14. This review is for the Inn (the tiny motel across King Street from the office). The location cannot be beat for the price. It's close to many shopping, restaurants, bakeries and bars. We flew in and did not rent a car so we just walked or used public transit everywhere we went, which was super easy […] and convenient. The room was clean and small with IKEA like furnishings (2 Queen platform bed with killer corners if you're not careful; 1 nightstand in the middle; 1 credenza w/ 4 drawers; a 2 ft towel bar with 2 hangers and a TV; that's it. The AC/fan was loud. There are no rugs or carpet on the floor and walls are super thin so you pretty much hear your neighbors' every step. Bring Earplugs. The bathroom has no tub; just shower. The water pressure was weak and the toilet didn't flush right. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"find another pdx hotel downtown"
shabby place in need of complete re-do. located in residential neighborhood with not even a coffee shop nearby. every walk involved going up and down steep hills so this is definitely not for elderly or disabled folks. there are no restaurant or room service or vending machine services. linens are not changed daily. there is a coin operated washer but […] the desk could not make change for my $10.00 bill which is probably ok because there were no vending machines from which to purchase laundry detergent and i don't travel with a gallon of tide in my suitcase. "Good location, shabby digs"
We stayed in the motel across the street from the inn, so I think our experience was a lot different than guests in the main building. It's like a slightly upscale Motel 6. The water pressure was awful. The room was a little dingy.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good basic hotel"
This is a very basic hotel. If you want more amenities, you may have to go somewhere else. Pros: not a bad walk to the Rose garden, soccer stadium, 2 max rail stations, #20 bus, and good bakery. Cons: further away from main Portland attractions such as Powells and Saturday market (can get there by #20 bus which runs every 30 min). No hair dryer or lotion […] which I found odd. Beds were on the firmer side (depending on your preference that can be a pro or con). Didn't realize it was more of an "outdoor" hotel and we were actually in a building across the street. It was quiet though and we had a neat view of the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location with friendly staff"
This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a decent, affordable place to stay in Portland without sacrificing location. Parking is included and you can walk or take public transit to just about anywhere you'd want to go, so it was super easy and cheap to get around. Practically everything we wanted to see - downtown, Rose Garden, Powell's Books, Saturday […] Market, Voodoo Doughnuts, some great shops and restaurants on 23rd - was within a mile or so walk or less. And for places a little further away (or when it was raining), taking the bus or train was very convenient. The hotel staff is also very friendly and helpful - they gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and even gave us a free room upgrade when they saw I was pregnant and learned that we were on our last out-of-town excursion before our baby arrives. How sweet is that?!? We would totally stay here again the next time we're in Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OK, but not great"
Room was clean and most of the staff was very nice (but one of them, an older woman, was a tad prickly). The internet service was spotty. Water pressure in the shower was very poor. "Great location... see Mt Hood"
We have stayed in this Hotel many times since we started visiting Portland and have liked the suites more than the inn facility. That distinction may be difficult to make on the Expedia site.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very spartan; Poor maintenance"
The rooms at the Inn are small and very minimal. Portion of wall has rain damaged, unfixed. Door lock would not take key card after second night; staff failed to put in repair order; had to walk across street to fetch staff to open door each time we wanted in for last two days.Genuine Expedia guest review

Was I surprised to find that my room at Park Lane Suites and Inn was not as pictured on their site! What is pictured is a suite and not a room at the Inn, where I booked a room. The rooms at the inn are basically redone budget chain motel rooms, quite basic and bare. I had to walk across the street to get a cup of coffee or an apple or cookies because […] there is no coffee maker in the room. There is a TV and a hair dryer, however, as well as an adjustable thermostat. When I arrived, the desk clerk was busy playing with the lenses on his camera and took some time to check me in. After my initial dismay that I had to tote my suitcases down a steep driveway and across the street to my budget room, I settled in and stayed five nights. The price was right for Portland, which tends to be expensive, and the location was very good. I could walk to Washington Park and to the downtown area or I could take a nearby bus. It is very close to a very good steakhouse and a highly recommended Italian restaurant and a Mexican restaurant is just around the corner. Also a natural foods market is a short walk on Burnside and there are fast food places as well. The area has many beautiful homes and is not far from the classy Nob Hill area. If I were in Portland again, I would consider staying here again, as the pluses far outweigh the minuses. I'd just be prepared for a basic room and not a suite. The Park Lane is conveniently located within 3 blocks of the Tri-Met light rail Providence Park rail station which is on the same line as the airport. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. The room is sparse but clean and comfortable. The main part of the hotel is on one side of the street and there is an annex on the other side. I stayed in […] the annex which has two floors. If you are on the second floor, there is no elevator on the annex side. The room was quiet. The only drawback was that the air conditioner unit constantly runs; it never shuts off when the desired temperature is met. This didn't bother me but it might bother others. There are many restaurant within easy walking distance as well as a drugstore. Good value for the money and I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the interiors were updated the room was very uncomfortable but workable. What wasn't acceptable was the thin walls that you could hear everything your neighbors were doing and saying. I had a 3 night stay. The rooms were big, but all the decor and furniture was old. It had a bad smell and bad lighting. Hair on the bed (have to tell housekeeper to put her hair up). Kind of eerie. "Great location and friendly staff"
This hotel is 3 blocks from the wharf. The rooms are clean and modern with a huge flat screen TV. The manager's reception looked like a spread for a wedding and they offer free business services. "Not what we expected"
Park Lane is not a bad place but not what we expected. Our room was neither an inn nor a suite. We booked a standard room which was nothing more than a bare minimum hotel room in the building across the street. Stayed for three nights. The motel was nearly empty the last night of our stay but they put new people in a room directly above us. There is […] no sound barrier! We heard every footstep and conversation from our neighbors.
