What a beautiful and serene place to stay. The hospitality was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The rooms were very quiet and everything was impeccably clean. If you want a peaceful place to get away from it all, this is it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relaxing old world lodge"
This old period hunting lodge was one of the highlights of our visit to Ireland. Our room was like a luxury suite which was located on the first floor overlooking a lovely garden and the lake We ate at the restaurant nightly and really enjoyed what the chef had on offer each evening which proved to be wonderful each time . We had our desert and coffee […] by the turf fire in the drawing room where we had great conversations with other guests ,and they seemed to enjoy the fabulous atmosphere as much as we did. The service was excellent throughout the lodge and the owners were especially helpful and were happy to have a lovely conversation with all their guests. We highly recommend this lovely lodge in the heart of Connemara and their great hospitality. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Irish INN"
The room #14 was HUGE. The bath and sitting area were equally large. The grounds were beautiful and spacious. The view was outstanding. The drive from town was further than I expected and the roads challenging, but it was worth the trek. Great get away. Oh yes the staff exceeded my expectations. I will be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value country hotel"
Stopped here for three nights, should have done five. Make sure you get a lake view room. To settle in nicely start your stay with tea and apple tart in the living room. Would have loved coffee making things in the room. Friendly service, although the front desk is often unattended. Generally it has the feeling of an old hunting lodge. Nice art on the […] walls, and a good selection of books on the neighbourhood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This is the second time in this hotel and am glad to say that it surpassed any expectation yet again. Arrived to the question "can we get you a cup of tea"!. The place is like being on a desert island for people that want to get away from the everyday distractions of busy life. Can't recommend it high enough and will be back again. "Beautiful & Friendly"
Hotel is easy to find. Stunning location & classy/ beautiful premises. Staff were so very kind & friendly; they made us feel so at home, that we have missed them all since we left (& we only stayed 2 nights!). We will certainly be returning, as much to revisit the hotel & staff as the location itself. Rooms were all very well appointed & sensitively […] & intelligently decorated in an original/ authentic traditional way. Food at restaurant was remarkably good/ fantastic. "very good but not excellent"
food and breakfast was "so so" and not very copious, that was my biggest complain and also the fact that there was no pedestrians footpaths around the hotel so you could enjoy the beautiful surroundings without having to take your car but that should not prevent you (or me) to go there again as it is still a good decent place even if indeed they're […] is still room for improvements Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A very special place - can't wait to return!"
12/07/14 KeriDublin Geneva
We have just returned from a pre-Christmas weekend in this wonderful place. From the moment we arrived late on Friday evening, we immediately felt welcome and loved the feel of the place - from the warm welcome, to the smell of the turf fires. Our room was very special, with amazing views over the lake. Without being opulent, it was just lovely. The food, from breakfast through to dinner, was superb. The menu was quite simple, nothing pretentious, from fresh crab claws and monkfish to beautifully cooked beef filet. The setting was just stunning - remote and wild, with a choice of walks around. What made this place so special was the old world simplicity and warmth. It just had the right balance. It's a kind of an ageless place and one that I cannot wait to come back to.

We spent a day fishing on Lough Inagh and had a lovely meal in the hotel in the evening. Colin Folan the fishery manager and Johnny the Gillie ensured we got fish and the there were a few pints drunk in the evening, I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Very Enjoyable Stay with a few Minor Setbacks"
11/03/14 adon1987 Dublin, Ireland
The hotel is based in simply beautiful surroundings in the West Coast of Ireland with several simply beautiful beaches a short drive away (however be careful you will need a car in this area - it is very rural and you will need to drive to get around). The main issue we had was when we arrived we had booked a treble room and specifically asked for three separate single beds which the lodge confirmed they would have, however on arrival we were presented with a room with a small double bed and a temporary bed (5 foot long) that would only fit a child. With all three of us being from 5 foot 10 to 6 foot this was obviously going to cause an issue but when we raised it with the staff they advised us there was nothing they could do although they were apologetic. After some complaining (on our part) they did manage to sort us out with a large double bed with a single bed in the same room which at least we could all fit in. The breakfast was decent although somewhat limited especially if you are a vegetarian (the fried potato cakes are not worth their place on the menu) andd the shower could have been hotter. The restaurant offered a nice choice of food albeit pricey, unfortunately the fish was overcooked for us which unfortunately is a very common issue in the West coast of Ireland. I must say though that the atmosphere in the lodge was extremely relaxing and I really enjoyed my stay but you are paying quite a lot for what you get.

The owner and her sidekick Thomas were the perfect hosts.thomas could not have been more helpful from the minute we walked in the door. Our room was beautiful.it was spotless and had a powder room aswel as a lovely bathroom. Dinner was lovely as was the dessert.breakfast was plentiful. I have a serious Gluten allergy and it was catered for without hesitation. If you want to treat yourself this is the place to stay.

We spent two nights here and it was amazing, from the location, rooms, food to the friendliest staff and owners it was perfect. The views from our room were overlooking the loch, where better to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee
"Lovely, meticulous, and luxurious old manor!"
10/18/14 WinSquared Denver, Colorado
We stayed in some truly amazing (luxurious and historical) places during our 10-day journey through Ireland (including an old castle near Doolin and the five-star Merrion Hotel in Dublin), but Lough Inagh Lodge was hands-down our favorite. While it's relatively easy to find quaint, historically significant lodgings in Ireland, this was the most meticulously well-maintained and lovely places we stayed. It combines a beautiful setting with quiet, reserved luxury and impeccable service. This was our end-of-the day spot after our explorations (hiking and sight-seeing) of Connemera National Park, Clifden, Leenane, and Roundstone, but it is a bit remote, though a perfect place to get away if that's on your itinerary. With that said, don't expect lots of options around for quick jaunts away (to amenities, restaurants, etc.) from the lodge. Fortunately, the scenery is lovely with views of the Mam Tauk and Twelve Bens Mountain Ranges steps from the front door (we left the curtains drawn overnight in our mountain-facing room, so that we could awake the sunrise over the gorgeous rocks), and our dinner in the restaurant was lovely. After dinner, we luxuriated in one of the front sitting rooms in front of a warm, peat-burning fire and were served drinks there. A-mazingly romantic and relaxing! We only wish we had more than a night at this lovely, lovely place.
"Perfect honeymoon escape "
10/11/14 Elizabeth S
Having seen this idyllic spot on a previous trip to Connemara we knew it was the perfect place for our honeymoon. And so it proved. Relaxing in front of open fires, the most stunning setting, great food and highly courteous, friendly staff. The beautiful room overlooking Loch Inagh was sublime. The perfect retreat we will definitely be back next year.
"What a wonderful place"

Stayed here last weekend with a group of friends. From the moment we arrived everything was just perfect. We ate magnificent food and loved relaxing by the real fires. It was a pleasure to stay in this most beautiful place. Sincere thanks to Maire and staff.
"Beautiful scenery, decent food but BED BUGS in room 12"
09/30/14 garcgirl nyc
Stayed at this hotel with VBT ireland tour. Hotel is set right next to the lake with scenic rooms, spacious rooms, friendly staff. Food is decent, small bar in hotel because there really is not anything nearby which is part of the beauty of this hotel. Awoke with bug bites in a line, blood marks on sheets consistent with bed bugs. I am still giving it a good rating because they said they were going to get fumigators.
09/30/14 Laura L Rhinebeck, New York
As part of a bicycle tour this was one of our stops. The setting is stunning, the service was gracious and the food was delicious. One night they served a goat cheese salad that could've been dessert. It was the best goat cheese I've ever tasted. It's doubtful I will get to return to Connemara but if I did I'd want to stay here again.
